"One day we promised. No matter what happens, we'll always stick together. Even if we go through our highs and lows, we'll be there. Even if something happens between us, we'll work it out. No matter what happens, we'll stay together until the end."

No One's POV
It was a beautiful night in the small town near the river. Most of the houses were quiet, as people slept for another day of harvest, while some were tucking their children to sleep. As a tired mother was getting her baby to sleep, a 4 year old boy was looking out the window, admiring the beauty of the night.
As he observed, he noticed a stray bunny hop along into their garden. He walked out of the house, his mother not being able to notice.
He walked towards the bunny as he started following it. "Come back here! You aren't allowed to eat our veggies!!" He eventually caught up to the animal, and grabbed it close to him. "You can't eat our veggies! Mommy works so hard to grow them!!" the young child said as he attempted to take the pieces of vegetables it was still eating.
Suddenly, the young boy heard a snap not so far from him. As he stood there afraid to move, he could sense the bunny move around in fear as well.
"What are you doing out here, little boy?" asked a weirdly slender man as he appeared from the dark part of the forest.
"My mom says I'm not supposed to talk to strangers." the boy says as he slowly backs away. "Oh but it's okay.." he said with a weird tone, ".. but I'm not a stranger..."
"Leave me alone please! I just want to go home with my mommy!!" the boy said as he hugged the bunny tighter, scooting away from the stranger who was now coming closer. "I can help you get back to your mother."
The stranger said to him slowly growing taller. Suddenly the boy ran as far as he could from the village. He was too afraid to lead the stranger where his family is. As he ran as fast as his legs could take him, he stumbled and fell.
He turned to look at the stranger, taller than what he already was. "You shouldn't have run, little boy." replied the stranger as his appearance became more visible due to the moonlight.
The boy was able to tell this man wasn't a stranger or a person at all. His face felt looked like it was melted and molded back to a disgusting look. His body was slender, with cuts and burns from previous escapes. His fingers long enough to pierce through a grown man's body.
As the now visible demon closed in on the little boy, tears streaming down his face, a shout could be heard from not so far from where they were.
"YAMATO!! YAMOTO SWEETIE WHERE ARE YOU!!"
As the young boy looked at where the female voice shouted, the demon began to laugh. "Your name is Yamato? At least I learned the name of my meal! But don't worry, your village is next!!" the demon laughed as he sprinted towards the boy.
The boy hid the bunny and started to scream, as he wished for it to be a nightmare. "What" the boy gasped as he felt the sickeningly hand from the demon fall next to him.
"Don't you think it's really low of you to attack a defenseless boy?" said a young girl as she stood in front of the boy, holding her katana. She had medium long blue hair, her purple eyes illuminating with the moon. Her yellow haori flowing heroically.
"Well you must be a real prick to get between my meal. Might as well have you as dessert!" he shouted as he charged towards her.
She was able to block his attack as she moved the boy away from danger. "Heheheh you must be really wanting to die today huh?" growing annoyed of her, as he slowly regenerated both his arms. "Tell me, what's your name, you piece of shit!!" he shouted as he aimed for the kid.
"Don't touch him!!" She shouted as she ran in front of the boy. Just as the demon was going to put his hands on the boy, the demon slayer was able to stab and split his hand and arm in half, slowing it down as well. Water Breathing, Seventh Form: Drop Ripple Thrust!
"Now you are really annoying me!! What's your name?!!!" the demon said as he growled angrily. The girl stood up and stared at the demon, pointing her katana towards him..
"My name is Ayaka Matsuda and I'm the one who's going to kill you!!!" she said as she ran towards him. "She's going to aim for my arms again! I guess I'll aim for hers as well!!" the demon thought as he prepared. Suddenly she jumped, startling the demon. "Water Breathing, Eight Form: Waterfall Basin!" she whispered as she slashed downward on the demon's neck.
As the head of the demon rolled down, the screams of agonize filled the quiet land. The boy stared in awe and fear as Ayaka walked towards him. "It's okay. The bad person is gone now." The boy looked at her, and then to the fading body of the demon. "Thank you miss Ayaka!!" he said as he hugged her.
She smiles softly as she returns the hug. "Who's this little cutie here?" she asked as she noticed the small mammal in his arm. "This is the bunny that was in our garden. He ate my mommy's veggies but I forgive him. I want to keep him but I don't think mommy would let me... where is mommy?" he said as he looked at Ayaka with fear in his eyes again.
"That bad stranger didn't get mommy or anyone else, did he?" She picked up the boy and told him, "No. We made sure he wouldn't touch anyone you know..." realizing she never got his name. "My name is Yamoto Sakai!"
"Well Yamato, let's go bring you back to your mom, okay?" she said as she heard a distant shout. He nodded as he started petting the bunny, sniffing. Ayaka walked for a few minutes until she got near the village since she followed the river.
Arriving there, all the villagers were outside with torches and their garden supplies as they tried to console the weeping mother and her clueless baby. "Mommy!!" Yamato exclaimed as Ayaka put him down. "Yamato!! My sweet little boy!!" the mother weeped as she embraced her young son into a warm hug, the baby giggling innocently.
Ayaka walked up to the happy mother, admiring the happy family. "Thank you so much, young lady." The mother said softly as she stood up still hugging her son.
"As my duty, I am glad I was able to save and reunite you with your son again." She said as she bowed. "It's okay! I should be the one to bow. Wait here for a few minutes." the mother said as she left to go find something in her home.
"On behalf of the Sakai family, we are forever grateful for saving her son. May you be blessed wherever you go" an elder said to Ayaka as everybody else bowed. Ayaka felt tears roll down her face as she returned the bow. "Thank you very much. As a Demon Slayer, it is my job to help and protect those who are unable to."
"She's been through so much and losing her son would have been so devastating, so once more we are forever grateful." a young woman added as they all smiled warmly. This made Ayaka feel relieved to save a young child who would have faced a terrible fate.
"Here you go sweetie." the boy's mother said as she walked towards her. She handed her a bag of fresh fruits and a small bowl of curry. "Since I don't have much to offer, please take this as a gift for saving my son." Ayaka took the bag and admired it.
"Thank you very much!" She bowed once more, her eyes filling with tears again. As she said goodbyes and started walking away from the village, she admired the beauty of the night.
Ayaka's POV
"Another day of saving people! That demon stood no chance!" I said to myself as I walked down a path. Being a demon slayer isn't an easy job, but I'm proud that I made it this far.
I continued to walk down the path remembering the smile on their faces. I know there were times I couldn't make it on time. It's at moments like these that make me feel better to save a life.
Why was I unable that day?
"CAW. THAT IS ALL THE MISSION FOR TODAY CAW! HEAD BACK AND REST FOR TONIGHT!!" I looked up as I saw my crow fly above my head. I lifted my hand up, letting it rest on my hand. "Don't have to warn the whole forest, Yuyu!"
I found a near log to rest for a while. Might as well eat something. I took out a small bowl that seemed to be vegetable curry.
It was cold but it was full of flavor. The vegetables tasted good, probably since they were harvested at the right time. "So good" I sighed as I finished the bowl. I carefully cut a tomato and fed it to Yuyu.
"Alright! Hopefully I can make it in time to meet the rest!!" I exclaimed as I got ready for my next journey!
I can't wait to tell them about what happened and maybe I can bring them with me next time!! But a demon slayer always has something to do no matter what.
