I walked through the door with you

But something about it felt like home somehow

Nico has just arrived at Will's house for the first time wearing his favorite scarf of course. He walked up to his house knocking.

"Hey you, you made it" Will said opening the door and hugging the young boy.

"Hi" Nico told Will.

"Come in Ma is making casserole for dinner" Will spoke.

"Okay I'm coming" Nico laughed as Will pulled him inside the home.

This is so homey

As they were about to eat Nico put his scarf down. He would later wish he never did.

Oh, your sweet disposition
And my wide-eyed gaze
We're singing in the car, getting lost upstate
Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place
And I can picture it after all these days

One of Will and Nico's favorite things to do was blast music in the car. Nico can see the Autumn leaves fall down on the road.

"What do you want to do after this" Will says putting his hand on Nico thigh. Nicos eyes went wide (I'm not doing the smut part or what the song does bc I can't)

"Umm how about we just chill" Nico suggested.

"Okay" Will responded.

That was one of Nico favorite memories. He remember it as well as a picture after all these days.

And I know it's long gone and that magic's not here no more
And I might be okay but I'm not fine at all

Nico knew he was gone. He knew that Will wasn't coming back but he can't let him go he knows the magic of him and Will is gone. He might be okay but he's not fine at all.

Nico can vividly remember one of the last drives him and Will had. Will almost ran the red because he was looking at Nico.

"Will! You're about to run the red!" Nico yelled

"Thanks sunshine" Will thank the Italian.

Nico could feel the wind in his hair. It's something he remembers all too well.

Photo album on the counter
Your cheeks were turning red
You used to be a little kid with glasses in a twin-sized bed

Nico was at Will mother house and Naomi brought out the photo album.

"Ma, we don't need to bring that out" Will said he cheeks turning red.

"Oh yes we do" Nico told Will.

"Here he used to have the cutest glasses and the cutest little twin sized bed. Oh here is him on the tee-ball team!" Naomi exclaimed.

Later on the drive home Will told Nico "When Ma brought out the photo album and talked about my childhood I was like woah I can't believe you are my future"

Nico felt the red on his cheeks again. He remembers it all too well.

And I know it's long gone and there was nothing else I could do
And I forget about you long enough to forget why I needed to

Cause there we are again in the middle of the night
We're dancing 'round the kitchen in the refrigerator light
Down the stairs, I was there
I remember it all too well, yeah

Will loved the sound of Nico laughing, why was he laughing? They were dancing in their kitchen in the refrigerator light at 1:30 in the morning.

"Will, stop I need to catch my breath" Nico said laughing.

"Okay daring" Will responded to Nico.

"That was fun we should do that again but for right now I'm headed to bed" Nico told Will.

"Okay love I'll be up there in a bit" Will said.

After Nico left Will got a call.

From his girlfriend.

He went out with her that night.

And maybe we got lost in translation
Maybe I asked for too much
But maybe this thing was a masterpiece 'til you tore it all up
Running scared, I was there

When Nico found out that Will went out with his girlfriend he was heartbroken. He thought.

Maybe I ask him for too much maybe he got tired of me

Maybe we got lost in translation.

When Will came to pick up his stiff from t̶h̶e̶i̶r̶ Nico apartment he heard Nico say.

"This thing was a masterpiece till you tore it all up Will. I will remember this all too well"

Once Nico heard Will leave he broke down sobbing harder and harder.

It was true Will tore it all up because he met Natalie.

And you call me up again just to break me like a promise
So casually cruel in the name of being honest
I'm a crumpled up piece of paper lying here

A few months after the break up Nico got a call from Will. He has no idea why he picked up maybe he thought he was gonna change.

"Nico, I'm sorry please please let me come back" Will said over the phone.

Nico felt hurt and said "No Will, I know you're gonna break me like a promise I know. Bye" And he hung up.

After the call he felt like a crumpled up paper that Will threw away. Will should feel cruel in the name of being honest Nico thought.

Time won't fly, it's like I'm paralyzed by it
I'd like to be my old self again
But I'm still trying to find it
After plaid shirt days and nights when you made me your own
Now you mail back my things and I walk home alone
But you keep my old scarf from that very first week
'Cause it reminds you of innocence

After about 3 months Nico just wanted to feel better. He wanted to feel like his old self but he couldn't. Will forgot a few of his plaid shirts and Nico can't get rid of them but he mails them to Will's new place with his new girlfriend.

Will found Nico old scarf from when they first got together when he got the package from Nico. It still smelt like him. He can't get rid of it because he just can't he doesn't know why he just can't.

Will is not is old self to like Nico. He remembers all the memories he remembers all too well. He tries calling him but he got a new number. He breaks up with Natalie hopping someday he will be with Nico again.

Nico felt a bit better still remembering the things he and Will did but he's moving on. Will on the other hand remembered he lost the one real thing he had and how rare he was. Will tried to talk to Nico by going to his apartment to talk to him. When he knocks a guy answers the door.

"Hi I'm here to see Nico" Will says to the man.

"Who is that honey?" Will hears Nico yell.

"Some guy named Will." The guys says.

"Oh tell him I'm done with him and I have a new guy now." Will hears.

"Sorry Will I'm his new boyfriend and he doesn't want to see you" They guy tells Will.

"Oh thank you have a nice night" Will tells the guy.

"Yeah you to" The man says.

Will lost the one rare thing he ever had.

Wind in my hair, you were there, you remember it all
Down the stairs, you were there, you remember it all
It was rare, I was there, I remember it all too well

Will still remembers everything all too well the same as Nico.

Nico still remembers Will but he has Jack now. He still remembers the wind in his hair and the down stairs dancing but he's done he doesn't need Will.

Will later finds out Nico gets married to his new boyfriend.

Why did I go out with Natalie? Will still asks himself to this day he also hears that Nico is a best selling author.

Will stills remembers Nico laugh,smile, and how he talks all too well.

He remembers him all too well and with forever regret answering that phone call.
