[Ghost and Girl try not to die]
She steals a quirk and chaos ensues
[Name] sat alone on a train, with alone not being the exact word she would use. Ren and a few other blocked out spirits seemed to have their gaze trained on her as she frantically texted her half baked plans of how she was attempting to get through the practical part of the entrance exam with the only sane person she knew. "That won't work either and we both know it." Ren sighs as [Name] grows more agitated.
"I'm sure that they have people with healing quirks on standby." she hissed as she once again deleted her message before it was even sent.
"Yes and nyooming right into an attack would get you killed." he rubs his temples in annoyance. [Name] releases a low growl, aggravation spreading with hours growing into only minutes of time that she could be using to plan how to get into a school with a less than effective quirk with drawbacks the size of the sun. So as her final sense of determination bled out she looked to Ren who had had his arms crossed and looked down on her as she finally asked for help.
"Ok, fine I've got nothing, so what's your stupid idea." Her sigh echoed through the mainly empty train car.
"Use mine." [Name] stared at Ren blankly for a few moments before annoyance etched itself into her face.
"What? Ren this isn't a joke we need-"
"I meant use my quirk." he almost whispers as [Name] blanches, her hands already shaking. Glancing up at him, her eyes narrow shock the only thing left in her mind. "Look, it's going to be difficult for you to do but we can at least try it, it's our only chance [Name]." Ren looks over to her his hand grasping hers for the first time in a long time that he could. That small shred of lasting comfort seemed to fade away as his temporarily physical hands faded back into the form of illusion, fading through her own with the cold sense of the dead the only thing able to linger on her skin.
"I- don't want to use you, we don't even know what could happen." A weary gaze was shared between them as Ren kept pushing, this was his dream as well as hers, they were meant to get in together, best friends with weird abilities sticking together as a team. But now he was dead and she was doing her best to attempt to get in but just aceing the written wasn't an in for her she would need to survive whatever was in the physical exam or else there would be no chance of getting into the hero course. "And I don't even know if I could do it at all." her quirk at times was unpredictable, summoning ghosts without trying to do it, going Beetlejuice or even nearly dying but attempting to use an ability of a dead person was never tried and the repercussions of doing it could be even worse.
"You just try it, for your best friend." He gave her a weak smile before pointing at her covered wrist. "You still have it right- well we're gonna need it and I promise out of all the half baked ideas this one might work." Glancing down she gave him a small nod already filled with regret as the train slowed to a halt.
---
She was still in a daydream like state as she found herself sitting down with a number of other possible students around her. Yet unlike them, she had absolutely no idea was had just been talked about or how she even got there. Ren floating behind her continued to wave his hand in front of her face until she began batting it away. Getting up and following in suit with the students quickly moved off into a "quiet" area so that she could have a minor understanding of how to get through a minute of the exam. Ren gave a disapproving look as she silently begged him for much-needed information and with an eye-roll, he did so.
"Fine, ok so basically there are robots you kill 'em you get points, avoid the really big one since that's not worth it." [Name] raised an eyebrow,
"That's it?" Her thoughts were already wandering already presuming them to be human-sized and overall not that hard to deal with.
"Yep, well other than that ticket thing tells you which area you'll be at for the physical and it starts-" Ren gazes down at her other wrist a small watch decorated with very out of character neon and meme stickers, "In two minutes if we run." he sighs as panic floods in like landslide, [Name]'s body moving on its own with unsettling speed for someone who would normally stay in bed for nine hours with her cat.
Heaving and out of breath she finally arrived along with the notion that running while wearing a giant sweater was not the greatest idea. Her eyes traced over the other examinees with only one making her shrink back into her [H/C] hair and leaving her a shaking ball of fluff, spiky blonde hair and seething anger made him stick out in the crowd. Why for the love of God did she have to be stuck with him.
---
"Dear god this isn't going to work is it-" Ren shoots her a glare, [Name] had already been going on like that for the past minute as they (she with Ren floating behind) made their way to the starting line while attempting to avoid eye, or any at that, contact with the sparky explosion boy who was glowering on the other side eager to destroy anything and everything that he came into contact with. Tension became thicker as she glanced around at the vaguely familiar faces and those already preparing their quirks for the unstable battle field. Twitching she grasped into her shred of hope, the iron chains looping around her arm and it was almost calming in a way that could make most tense. The speakers seemed to crackle to life in an instant as the roar of Present mic's voices pierced the ears of the examinees, yet "Start!" was the only thing [Name] could hear as everything buzzed to life.
Amongst the swarm of students and stress [Name] was able to spot a bot near a freshly made patch of rubble. A cocky grin was plastered across Ren's face as he pulled her forward, metal already forming a tight grip around her wrist. Shakily she stood as Ren began urging her on. [Name] closed her eyes as she gripped onto Ren, a struggle already forming between herself and her quirk, her body felt like it was just slammed into a brick wall yet it was different, Ren was different. A buzzing feeling crossed over her arm along with stinging pain, Ren seemingly gripping onto her for dear life and-
CRASH
[Name]'s eyes shot open the bot had been destroyed- no strangled by chains that seemed to shake and quiver on their own. [Name] turned to Ren shocked delight crossed both their faces as Ren continued to control the chains through [Name]. "HOLY SHIT!" she screeched glee pouring out
"I KNOW!" [Name] rushed to the next object fit for destruction, their excitement rising with each hunk of metal destroyed, her body though less than strong holding up better than was expected.
With rushed movements and running out time panic soon replaced their newly found joy. There was barely anything left and the looming threat of the big ass death robot was more than enough reason to be in such a state. So heaving she found it and with a quick glance Ren fired, chains wrapping around the entirety of the two point bot, pulling and crushing it as it was shot away from an unforeseen explosion.
"What the fuck!" [Name]'s head shot to the sound of the voice and instantly sweatdropped. Growling a, very pissed mind you, Bakugou stood, tiny explosions of rage firing off in his hand.
"Shit" was all [Name] could whisper before he was at her throat, ready to attack.
"When did you get a fucking quirk?!" Bakugou hissed his grip already singeing her skin. [Name] either as an act of stupidity or stubbornness remained silent as Ren stared on dumbfounded. "Answer me."
"I've always had one" [Name] mumbles, Bakugou twitches as rage burns beneath his eyes.
"Then why di-" a horrific boom echoes through them and within that brief moment they agree, either we work together or we're fucked. [Name] grabs his hand as Ren is dragging her at top speed with the other. They twist and turn and stumble their surroundings crumbling around them, Bakugou had already let go determined not to be helped as they raced through the crumbling streets. [Name]'s eyes widen as distantly behind her she heard cracking and heavy cursing, turning and to her dismay Bakugou is stuck under rubble.
"Let's just go" Ren sighs his grudge against the boy visible as [Name] forces him towards Bakugou to the point of unaudiably begging him to help save the pissed off jerk. "Fine." He growls chains breaking the rubble releasing the trapped Bakugou who is already spring away. [Name] quickly attempts to do the same, yet she can't her body seems to almost go limp. And it tumbles a wall collapsed pinning her underneath desperately she looks towards Bakugou, a eager wish for repayment of a task yet all he does is glance back quickly and keep running.
"Ren please-" She gasps gazing over at the panicked Ren doing everything he can, yet nothing happens. He keeps pushing and moving and trying yet his chains are still, he can't do anything but float. A weary smile crosses her face with a small sorry as her world fades out.
