70. Maharaj Yudhishthir, the King of Khandavprasth.
The next few hours were tiring.
As soon as Yudhishthir got ready me and Madhu ran into the room to do the same, seeing as we were supposed to be present there too.
"Which one, Yudhishthir, the blue or the turquoise? " I asked, showing him two sarees.
"They both look the same. " He mumbled.
"What? Couldn't hear you. "
" I - the turquoise one darling. " He answered, standing at the mirror where he was dressed in a ritualistic thread, white dhoti. All jewellery off.
He looked even more handsome like this, because his eyes shined the best when everything that people assumed made him Royal was stripped off of him. Some would say, that to strip a man of his royalty, one needs to steal his gold. I disagree. Royalty is a character trait. No one can steal that from you.
His chin length hair was pushed back to clear his forehead, while he wore a completely white dhoti, a white with gold bordered angvastr and a white thread.. He looked beautiful.
I shook out of my admiration session to change in my own clothes, while I made Madhu wear a baby pink coloured lehenga. She looked adorable. I made sure there was nothing itchy about the fabric and we were good to go.
"Shall we? " I asked my husband, who looked at the two of us with awe.
"My beautiful apsaras. You look radiant. " He mumbled, pecking our foreheads.

We walked into the Hall, where a beautiful mandap like place had been set up in the centre, attracting everyone's attention towards the rajyabhishek. There around the holy fire sat a few brahmims, who were waiting for their prince to become the king.
They sat him down on a pedestal, legs crossed.
They first began by meticulously applying haldi over his arms, feet and face, to ward off the evil spirits.
Following this, they softly poured mixture of curd, honey and gangajal, washing away the haldi.
Madhu loved the milkbath, wanting to sit there herself as she started fussing when he closed his eyes for the same.
"But that's papa's seat dearie. You'll be drenched! " I chided and she looked at me as if about to cry.
"Brahmin dev, is it alright if she sits there too? It won't mean anything. " I asked and the court looked at me with varying emotions.
However, the brahmin dev were kind souls who nodded, agreeing.
"With, this, we ensure that Raajkumari Madhumita will become the guiding light of her father, in matters of his kingdom and in matters of honesty, humility and strength. May you be your father's greatest strength. " They said, plopping a spot of haldi on her cheek while she looked at them with wide, confused eyes.
Removing her necessary clothes, I sat her down, laughing as she clapped, or attempted to clap her hands.
They then began to pour gangajal all over them, when he held a hand above her eyes to shield them from the oncoming water.
Did I mention I love my husband?
Soon, the rajyabhishek was complete, with Madhu and Yudhishthir dried off. A brahmin put the smallest of tilak on Madhu's forehead, which she smudged off with her hands, while they then began to tend to my husband.
With a clean cloth, they wiped his feet, then draping him with a bright purple and gold angvastr, a crown, as well as a staff.
" Yuvraj Yudhishthir, Kauntey, first born son of Maharaj Pandu, today we will crown you the king of Khandavprasth. Repeat after us, the words you will swear by when you become the king. "
" I swear to provtect, provide and help my kingdom in all forms, never seek out war but always be ready for it. " He repeated after them, eyes boring into maharaj Dhritarashtr's head, even though he couldn't see him.
" I swear to uphold dharm, first and formost. To care for my subjects as my own family. To respect each citizen for their actions, to punish those who are adamant to disrupt the peace. "
"I swear to be inculcative of my queen's decisions as well, for she is the Maharani as ivwill be the Maharaj. " He added in later.
I smiled, while mata looked at her son with pride.
" With this we crown yiu, Maharaj Yudhishthir. King of the region of Khandavprasth. " They announced and we sighed, with the ceremony finally over.

The very next day we left for Khandavprasth, without mata, seeing as Maharaj Dhritarashtr refused to let her come with us.
"But mata -"
"No, my children now need to fly on their own. You are deserving. Be proud. " She blessed us.
Meanwhile, Angraj stood at the doorway.. Wait, he wasn't Angraj now was he?
" Karn, why are you lurking at the door. Come in. " Mata said.
" Nahi mata. First I need to announce something. " He said stoically and I rolled my eyes.
" I have let go of my friendship with Yuvraj Duryodhan. I will be leaving with my brothers for Khandavprasth. " He said and if my eyes betrayed my shock, I need to be more experienced in the art of being stoic.
" Oh my, but Jyeshth? " Arjun looked shocked too.
" I have decided, as per someone's words that I am not his 'lapdog' but friend. Which I wasn't being, as he even though was a good friend, would only call upon me when he had some tast of me. " He said, looking pointedly at me.
"Alright, that is wonderful news. We'll all leave. " Bheem said, grinning widely while his wife chuckled at his enthusiasm.
" Shall we? "

Reaching Khandavprasth with so many people following us, we didn't take into account the fact, that the bhumipujan was going to be done out in the open.
As Panchali, Hidimba and I stood with our urns, we suddenly felt the flying winds in our face.
Rathr it was a storm, with breaking branchea and dust flying..
Seeing as this was a barren land, I didn't expect much, until I saw the hurricanes and what followed them.
" Snakes! " I shouted, running to cover Madhu who was sitting on the ground on a mat, playing with her toys.
" We need to kill them! They are takshak naag's snakes! " Arjun yelled, while the brother's jumped into action.
" Sagarika! " Yudhishthir called, as I turned around to see one heading right for us.
Taking the pin out of my hair, I stabbed him with it.
That was my favourite one! Stupid snakes... But it seemed less comical, once the chaos died down and we saw, many of those who followed us were stung, lying on the ground, fighting for their lives.
"No. This wasn't how we were supposed to start. " I whispered.
