 It was a simple mission, get the sword and leave, but they weren't quick enough.

 Y/N internally cursed at her arrogance. She thought she didn't need backup and left behind her bracelet. It was something Leo made for the her and the rest of the seven. He designed one specifically suited for each demigod. Her's was a yellow bracelet with a bow and arrow charm. Anyone else would have thought it was just a pretty bracelet, but a simple touch on the charm would alert the rest of her friends that she was in danger and needed help. She also cursed at Percy, even though it wasn't his fault, for losing his bracelet. One of the monsters got it.

Y/N stood there, inside the abandoned warehouse in her ripped camp clothes, her back pressed against Percy's. Her left arm was injured and she could barely stand, but she had to, if she wanted to make it out alive. The monsters were surrounding them, and they were closing in fast. They were a lot of them, too many for her, even Percy, to take. Y/N sighed. If she was going down, she's not going without a fight. 

Y/N never expected her to die with the person she (thought) hated most, Percy Jackson. It's funny really. They used to fight over the most stupidest things from missing cookies to who could fight better. Their rivalry annoyed not only their friends, but everyone in camp. But after the second war with Gaea, they came to a mutual understanding. Less petty fights and competitions to see who stuff the most marshmallows in their mouths. Y/N's mind drifted to his face. His stupid annoyingly handsome face. Her feeling were mixed about the son of Poseidon. His smirking face came to mind and her cheeks started growing red.

No, now's not the time to be thinking of that, we're about to die for Zeus'  sake.

The monsters licked their hungry lips, and growled at them. She wondered what was going on in Percy's mind. Was he scared? Or was he prepared to fight them? Y/N gripped her own sword and turned to face Percy.

"Well this is it Jackson" Y/N said, staring into his sea-green eyes. 

Percy gave a solemn nod and turned his determined eyes at the oncoming monsters

"On three, we attack" Percy said, staring into Y/N's e/c eyes.

"One"

"Two"

Then, Y/N did something so unexpected, it shocked her too. She leaned up and kissed Percy. Right on the lips. It was so quick that before Percy had time to react, Y/N pulled away.

"Three" she whispered. 

She turned around not looking behind her and started attacking. She hacked and slashed at the monsters, giving them no mercy. Some of the monsters even had fear evident in their eyes. She was a walking tornado, not stopping at anything. She paused briefly to look behind her to see Percy doing the same. He was slicing of monsters' heads and stabbing them. 

She returned to her own fight until she heard a cry come from behind her. She swirled around and her eyes widened at the sight before her. There were 4 monsters, all attacking Percy at the same time. There was a huge gash on his left arm and his his right eye was swollen shut. Y/N ran to his aid and killed off 2 of the ugly monsters. He managed to kill the rest and Y/N found herself back to back with Percy again. 

"What was that for?" Percy asked, his eyes surveilling the area. 

"What was what for?" Y/N asked even though she already knew what he was implying.

"The kiss, why did you do it?" Percy asked slashing at a monster.

"Percy now isn't the time to be talking about this" Y/N replied back frustratedly. 

Percy put an arm around her waist and turned her around so she would face him.

"Then when?" He asked, staring into her e/c eyes determinedly. 

Y/N stared back into his mesmerizing eyes and didn't even notice the monster running up behind her until Percy stuck his sword right through its heart. His eyes still staring at Y/N's. Her eyes widened and she let out a strangled cry at the monster coming up behind Percy. But he didn't even seem fazed. He turned around and sliced it's head off clean. 

Y/N was about to open her mouth when she heard both their names being called. They both looked behind her to see their friends running towards them with their weapons drawn and murderous looks in their eyes. Y/N let out a noise that sounded like a laugh and a cry at the same. Her friends had come to save them.

Y/N detached herself from Percy's protective arms and ran to help her friends. She fought side by side with Annabeth. 

"How did you guys know?" Y/N asked.

"Our bracelets were glowing so we assumed something had happened. It took us a while to get here, but here we are" Annabeth answered smiling at her.

Y/N smiled back and helped her fight. Percy must have touched the charm before he lost it. Her determination resurfaced and she fought the oncoming monsters that dared to attack her. Her eyes surveyed the scene around her. Jason and Piper were fighting together, almost in sync. Will and Nico were doing their best to hold off the monsters surrounding them. Frank had turned into a huge grizzly bear with Hazel on his back. Leo was on Festus and spewing fire at the monsters.Her eyes looked around to find Percy, but he was nowhere to be seen. 

Then, she heard a grunt behind her. She whirled around to see Percy facing her with a gentle smile. His clasped hand dropped something. Her bracelet. Percy coughed up some blood and collapsed.  In front of his body, there was an empousai holding a long sword with blood dripping from it.  Y/N let out a blood-curling scream as the realization hit her.

Percy had taken the hit for her.
