To Catch a Leaf

(Okay, you might want to know why I skipped a chapter again. Well...today I was watching LMK and I remember watching 'To catch a leaf'. I got a huge idea for this chapter...and I couldn't find any lmk stories that had this chapter in, so I decided to add this one in for the heck of it. I'll make Shadow Play tomorrow or the day after next day....enjoy)

Warning: Blood & Gore

Nobody pov

Embry was reading a book at Pigsy's, until a loud Hiccup rang through the area, shaking slightly. Embry yelped and jumped a bit, deadpanning at who did it.

Mk was holding his breath, until another Hiccup came through, shaking everything.

Embry rolled his eyes as he knew what happened.

"This is the worse case of hiccups I've ever seen. How'd it happen?" Pigsy asked.

"So, remember how you told Mk not to enter that beef ball-eating contest?" Mei asked.

Embry facepalmed.

'Why doesn't he ever listen?' Embry thought.

"Under no circumstances, yeah." Pigsy said.

Mei handed Pigsy her phone

"Five hundred beef balls in five minutes. Yeah, boy!" Mk said, before hiccuping again, sending him through the ceiling.

Embry just shook his head in disappointment.

"Yeah, we think they might have been cursed." Mei said, as Mk came back.

"So good though." He groaned.

"Mk, of all the thoughtless adventure setups you could think of, this takes the cake." Pigsy said.

Embry nodded along with him.

"We tried everything. I tried rubbing his belly, giving him a good scare, and hitting all his pressure points! But nothing worked!" Mei said, Mk hiccupped again, causing the place to shake.

"Oh, Mr. Tang, you've gotta know some ancient techniques for, uh, food poisoning curses, right?" Mei asked.

"Right, Noodle Guy? Huh? Huh?" Mk said.

The out of nowhere, Sandy appeared. Embry' tails spiked up in alarm.

"When I'm not feeling so hot, a special brew of tea perks me right up." He said.

Embry giggled a bit and closed his book.

"Oh, Sandy is in this one I see." Tang said.

Embry stood next to Sandy.

Mk hiccupped again, causing everyone(except Embry) to fall and shake. Mei groaned.

"Uh, Sandy? Something tells me that a bit of loose leaf ain't gonna help us in this particular scenario! I don't think even Embry's teas can work on him!" Pigsy said, as Embry helped him up.

"Don't underestimate the power of the tea leaves. Besides, I'm not talking about any old tea." Sandy said, as he pulled out a book from his beard.

Embry raised an eyebrow.

'I never understood how that even works'. He thought.

"I'm talking about the tea made from the leaf of the wild crimson jimson weed. An ancient and powerful flower, said to influence over mortality itself. In the wrong hands, deadly. In the right ones, deadlier!" Sandy said, making Embry very concerned for Mk.

"Uh, we're not trying to kill him, Sandy. We just want to cure his hiccups." Tang said, rubbing Embry's back.

Cure, kill. You say potato, I say potato. However, the crimson jimson weed only grows in the Mystic Jungle of the Emerald Lynx. So who's gonna get it?" Sandy asked.

Mk and Mei were out of question. Pigsy and Tang looked at one another, before looking at Sandy

"What? No, no, no, no. I'm strictly a water adventure kind of guy." Sandy said.

Embry tugged on his pants.

Sandy looked at him.

Embry gave him a look, that said, 'You can do it and I'll be with you.'

"Mk's life is at stake!" Tang pointed out.

"Okay, I'll do it for my friends!"

"Hai, hai!" Embry said.

"Hmm, Crimson Jimsonweed produces just one flower, and blooms only under the glow of a Crimson Moon." Tang said, making Mk gasp.

"That's tonight!"

"By the Gods of blunt convenience, let's go!" Sandy said, running out of the shop.

Embry ran after him, waving behind him.

"Be careful, Embry!" Tang yelled.

"HAI!!" Embry yelled.

"We'll be back before you know it!" Sandy said, picking Embry up and running.

(What he has on now)

Sandy and Embry walk in the forest.

"Ah. Could this day be anymore perfect?" Sandy asked, looking around.

Embry nodded in agreement.

A blue butterfly landed on Sandy's shoulder, causing Embry to giggle a bit.

"Oh! Why hello little friend!" Sandy said, waving at the butterfly.

It flew away and landed on Embry's nose.

His nose twitched as he sneezed.

Sandy looked down at his book that has the map leading them to the very top mountain. They set off through the jungle forest until they reach the base of the cliff.

As they climb high the mountain, they saw a mountain ox. Sandy and Embry greeted and waved at it before continuing climbing.

Embry noticed a figure standing on top of the mountain. He quickly climbs up as fast as he could and when he made it, his eyes widens at the sight.

There standing before him, was Fuji. She smiles at him and does a hush gesture before disappearing into butterflies.

Embry just stood there, speechless. Sandy made it up and noticed his expression.

"Embry, you okay?" He asked, tapping his shoulder.

Embry blinked and nodded.

Confused and concerned with his behavior, he shrugged it off as they went on. As they went into the forest that was on the cliff, Sandy tied up the red ribbons on each tree they passed by so they could find their way back.

Suddenly, a bird flew down to them as it chirp at them with a worried look. They turned and gasped to see the snake climbing up to the branch to eat the baby birds in the nest. Embry quickly climbed up and grabbed the snake by the neck, glaring at it. The snake hissed at him angrily.

Sandy pops his head out with the nest on his head as he brings out tea, making Embry and the snake confused. Then Sandy and Embry went back to traveling while tying ribbons on every tree.

It was time to take a break, they sat upon the edge of another cliff right by the sunset. Sandy and Embry ate some food they prepared for their own when they saw a monkey looking at them.

Sandy gives some to the monkey, who gratefully takes it. He was about to eat another one when he sees the food was gone.

Sandy and Embry look over to see more monkeys attempt to get away with their food. They froze to see them as they're caught. Embry shook his head and giggled, while Sandy was in awe.

"Aww! Go ahead, little guys. We couldn't eat all of this if we tried." Sandy said, giving the rest to the monkeys.

A monkey jumped on his head and snuggled against his face. He giggled as it tickled him. He rubbed the monkey and held it, causing Sandy to awe.

"Man, I wish I brought a camera with me!" He said.

Embry giggled.

As soon as they were done with their break, they continued on their way until they stopped and saw what appeared to be the giant mountain figure of a panda.

"Whoa! Mother nature sure is a great artist." Sandy said.

Embry nodded, as Takara(the monkey) climbed on his head.

Finally, they made it to the base of the mountain as the sun had set. Once they climbed up to the top, the Crimson Moon came out and the red light shined before their eyes as it land on the Crimson Jimsonweed flower.

"The Crimson Jimsonweed flower." Sandy said, as they approached it.

"Ooooh..." Embry said.

Sandy gently took the flower.

"Now to get this flower to Mk." He said, before they heard a raspy voice.

"Actually, I had a different idea."

They turned and yelled in fear. Embry pulled out his weapon, causing it to transform.

Standing before them, was Huntsman. Spider Queen's henchmen. Embry remembered what he and the others did to him and his family.

"Now, how about you two hand over that pretty flower."

Sandy placed the flower in the book and closed it.

"Uh, sorry. This is for our friend." Sandy said.

Embry growled and gripped his guns. He stood in front of Sandy, aimed them at Huntsman, shaking his head.

Huntsman growled and threw himself at him, but he dodge rolled and shot him with the guns, releasing some sort of partial harden fluid.

It sent him flying towards a tree as he slammed into it.

"Hai!" Embry shouted, dragging Sandy as they got off the cliff.

"Mk, hang on for just a little longer." Sandy said, as they ran through the forest, dodging webs.

They ran back to where they came from, where the red ribbons are, but froze to see there was no more ribbons on sight.

They were torn off.

"Trying to find your way back? Might be hard without these!" Huntsman said, hitting a tree. The ribbons fell from the trees.

"Oh, not good." Sandy said, as Embry growled and gripped his guns.

Then, Sandy was caught in a web net trap, causing him to drop his book.

"Naha!" Embry cried out.

He ran to help him, when Huntsman came in view and slammed his claws at him, sending him flying to the edge of the cliff.

Huntsman approached him with a snarl and raised his leg claws. Embry and Huntsman glare at each other until they both charge.

Embry shoots at him, he dodges, spinning his claws to block the substance.

Huntsman throws attacks, Embry deflecting or dodging every strike. Embry glances behind him and knocks Huntsman back.

Huntsman twirls his claws and Embry leans backwards to dodge its path. It nicks his hair and he leaps on the tree.

Huntsman jumps up and tries to hit him, but Embry kicked him in the chest, sending him in the trees.

Embry smirked, but it went away as he was caught in a web.

Huntsman laughs as he swung Embry around and into the trees.

"EMBRY!!" Sandy yelled, trying to get free. Huntsman went over to see if Embry was still alive.

He was caught off guard, when a fist came through and gave him a uppercut.

Huntsman flips backwards, as he tried to get himself together from the punch. Embry emerged, looking pissed. His head was bleeding and his veins were showing. He was panting and glaring at him.

Huntsman snarls at him and goes to attack him, before Sandy got in front.

"Wait! How about we talk things over, huh? I have this nice camomile tea blend that-"

He was cut off, when Huntsman cocooned him in his web and slammed him against the cliff wall.

"SAAH!" Embry screamed.

Embry was about to get to Sandy, Huntsman caught him in his web as well and threw him against a nearby tree. He struggled to get out of the binds.

"Ooh, that one hurt, didn't it? Come on! I wanna see you go crazy on me!" (Bruh...why did this sound so wrong to me??!!🤣🤣🤣)

He started to swing Sandy around like a rag doll. Embry tried to get out of the webs. Huntsman stopped when he saw Sandy wasn't fighting back.

"Seriously? Nothing? Pfft! What is with you? All that potential, wasted being a little chimp's errand boy."

Embry growled at him, but stopped to notice something was loosening.

He looked down to see Takara,  helping him get out of the webs with the help of the few monkeys as they freed him. Embry got down and approached them, patting their heads.

He smiled at them and looked over.

He saw Sandy was also free with the help of the snake, as he caught Huntsman's fist.

"An enemy is just a friend who haven't won over yet. Like I say, there is no problem that can't be overcome by a good cup of tea." He said, with a bright smile.

Suddenly, the momma bird they helped save her babies earlier, swooped in and slammed into Huntsman's head, pecking at him.

"Ugh! Damn thing!" Huntsman cursed, dropping the book that held the Crimson Jimsonweed flower.

Then the monkey's came and jumped on Huntsman, Takara included.

Embry stood beside Sandy as they watched, until Huntsman fought them off, causing them to fall onto the ground. Some were whimpering in pain while some weren't moving at all, causing Embry to worry.

Embry growled and shot him with the guns, but Huntsman vanishes.

Embry and Sandy looked around, before...

"EMBRY!!" Sandy screamed, as he ran over to his nephew.

Embry was panting, tears going down his face and wide eyes. Fire was around the wound, healing it. Embry whimpered and gripped Sandy's beard, shivering slightly. Blood was all over Embry's chest, as he cried.

Huntsman laughed, as he shook the blood off one of his legs.

Sandy held Embry close, with a shadow over his eyes. Blood was running down his arms, burning slightly

Sandy had a deadly glint in his eyes that looks like he's ready to murder someone.

Sandy glared daggers at Huntsman. Then, multiple orbs hovered around Sandy that came from his necklace.

He stood up, holding Embry close.

"All it took to bring out the beast inside you was to smack around some of your woodland friends and your stupid kid?" Huntsman asked, before cackling.

"Are we doing this? Or are you going to brew me another cup?"

A large gush of wind sent Huntsman flying against the wall. He landed and flinched to see Sandy already in front of him up close, a death grip on Embry. He went too far, when it came to his nephew.

"What's wrong? Isn't this what you wanted? Let me show you why I promised never to fight again!!"

With enough power from the orbs, Sandy threw his fist towards Huntsman, who closed his eyes for the impact.

"PAPA!!"

The fist was about an inch away from Huntsman's terrified face. He opened his eyes, to see Embry, gripping Sandy's beard, shaking and panting.

"P-Papa...Papa....papa...papa..." He whimpered, tears going down his face.

"Leave this place." Sandy said, as Huntsman ran away, without looking back.

Sandy sighed and looked at Embry, who was looking at him.

"P-P-Papa...?" Embry said.

Sandy's eyes widened, as tears filled his eyes. He held Embry close to his chest.

"Y-Yeah. I-It's okay. Papa's here. Everything's okay." He said, rubbing Embry's back, as he cried.

Sandy looked up to see a giant hole on the mountain he made.

He sighed as he checked on all the animals.

Takara hopped on Embry's stomach, nuzzling his face.

Embry smiled and held Takara, as he fell asleep.

Sandy picked up the book and opened it. The flower was still there, but a petal was missing.

Embry's ears twitched when he heard a voice.

Feed me sunlight, feed me air
Feed me truth and feed me prayer
Feed me sunlight, feed me air
Feed me truth and feed me prayers

It sounded familiar to him...but...why?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sandy and Embry were back at Pigsy's as Mk was drinking the tea. Everyone watched him with nervous expressions. After a moment of silence, Mk smacking his lips at the taste until he let out a laugh.

"No hiccups! This tea really works!" Mk said.

Everyone looked relieved that he was okay.

"Thanks, Sandy. You're the best." Mk said.

"Anytime." Sandy said, patting his back which made him start coughing.

"I still don't understand why the spider wanted that flower." Mei said, before gasping. "You guys think Spider Queen ate cursed beef balls too?"

"Oh, man! I could so go for more of those right now." Mk said.

Mei chucked her cup at Mk's head, making Embry laugh.

"I doubt it." Tang said.

"Oh, okay, smart guy. You tell us why those spider goons were after it then, or are those glasses just for show?" Mei said.

"They're prescription I'll have you know!" Tang snapped back.

Embry turned to see Sandy, as he look at the book that held the last petal of Crimson Jimsonweed. He frowned, walked over to him and patted his arm.

Sandy looked over and saw Embry, looking at him worried.

"Don't worry, sweetie. I'm fine." He said, rubbing Embry's head.

"But...are you okay?" Sandy asked, placing Embry on his lap.

Embry nodded and beat his chest, saying: 'I can handle anything!'

Sandy laughed and hugged Embry, close.

Sandy will never forget Embry's words.

"I love you...

papa."

Bonus

A girl with black and red hair walked around the area, seeing the blood on the ground. She knelt down, touched it and licked it, feeling a burning sensation in her mouth.

She growled, when she knew who's blood it was.

Her red eyes glowed, as she growled and panted.

"ƧӨӨП...ƧӨӨП...ΣMBЯY...ΉӨᄂD ӨП...JЦƧƬ Λ ᄂIƬƬᄂΣ ᄂӨПGΣЯ." She said, before disappearing in a cloud of black mist.
