I blink, coming to Cate on a tv screen being shut off. What the hell?

I blink again, rapid, taking in my surroundings I realize we're at God U... in one of the classrooms. I'm so fucking sick of this.

There's students everywhere, scrambling around the room to a seat.

"I haven't been to class in years." Dusty comments.

Andre taps mine and Marie's arm and Marie starts walking towards an empty row of seats. And if Jordan didn't still have a hold of my arm, gently guiding me to a seat, I think I'd still be frozen in place.

"Oh, my God." They let out, their touch vacating my arm and I quickly snap my head up, a choked-gasp escapes my lips.

"Luke." I whisper. I see Andre's frozen look of awe out of the corner of my eye as I start to tear up.

My twin is right in front of me....

I never thought I'd see him again- and here he is, right in front me.

He's wearing a jacket I picked out for him, and he takes a seat in front of us, Jordan instinctively sitting too, Marie following. Andre and I are last to sit, glancing at each other, eyes full of so much pain and emotion.

Luke turns beside him and I look in horror when I find Cate next to him.

"Hey." He whispers, smiling as he leans in. Cate looks at him, batting her eyelashes. "I'm Luke." He holds out his hand.

Oh, my God. His voice, his kindness.

Cate meets her gloved hand in his. "Cate."

"You, uh..." He squints at her notebook. "You seem pretty smart." She smiles cheekily at his words causing him to chuckle.

God, I could've prevented all this. Couldn't I have? What if I wasn't late to class? And we sat somewhere else? Or what if he was late to class? And didn't sit next to her??

Our entire fucking friendship was a lie. So I'm sure she would've sought us out either way...

"Could I cheat off you?" He asks.

Cate looks a bit taken aback for a moment. "You're gonna ride my coattails?" She shoots back.

"All the way to the top." Luke whispers.

She grins, looking down at her notebook. I shake my head remembering this day...

It's when I met Cate.

I arrived a few minutes late, of course, and hurried over to sit in front of Luke. He pokes at me for being late which I remember sassing him for and when he whispered something to Cate I swiveled my chair around and said-

"He's not bothering you, is he?" I grinned, letting her know I was on her side.

She shook her head, making sure to let me know he wasn't and I told her I'd kick his ass if he was and then complimented her outfit, and that's all it took for us to hit it off immediately.

"We-we should, we should leave, I-I can't be here." Andre stutters out, interrupting the memory that I'm sure we're about to see play out.

"Ma-" I go to reach out for him as he stumbles to his feet, spinning around to push in the chair, he's almost to the door before I can say anything.

"I miss you, man." Luke calls out, causing him to freeze. My jaw drops as I grip the sides of the chair.

Andre slowly turns back around as Luke spins his chair to face him. He tilts his head to the side and our eyes meet.

"Illie." He nods, smiling brightly.

Oh, my God.

Tears blur my vision as my hand flies to cover my mouth. "Lu Lu."

Andre lets out a soft chuckle. "I-I miss you, too, man." He shakes his head as he smiles widely. "So fucking much." Luke chuckles and Andre joins him and my chest aches at the interaction.

"But you know what?" Luke asks, looking down in thought. "I don't believe you." His gaze snaps back up and his face is... mad?

My brows furrow. Jordan sits up straighter, surprised at Luke's response.

Luke springs to his feet, letting out a sigh. "You thought I didn't know."

"Know what?" Marie leans closer to me.

"Andre-" Jordan starts.

"That you could keep it from her." Luke points to me. What?

"Lu-" I rear my head back. 

"What's he talking about?" Jordan questions.

The lights in the room turn low and Luke turns, taking a a step down he crosses his arms as moaning starts playing and Cate and Andre pop up on the tv screens. On one screen she lays flat on her back on the bed and Andre lowers down to hover over her.

I watch them in horror, looking from screen to screen.

On the main screen they separate from making out.

"Oh, we really shouldn't do this." Cate tells Andre.

"Mm." He stares at her lips.

What the fuck... WHAT THE FUCK?!

What am I watching right now... what am I seeing?

"What if Luke finds out?" Cate asks him.

Andre sighs. "Yeah. Yeah, we really..."

Cate quickly wraps her hands around his neck, pulling him back in to her.

My mouth won't close... my jaw touching the floor if not the depths of hell.

Jordan faces their chair Andre as the lights come back on and suddenly the room is empty, other than all of us.

Luke tuns back around to Andre as my blood runs cold at Luke's broken face. "How many times?"

I feel my body begin to shake as it becomes harder and harder to breathe.

Cate and Andre. After Luke died.

I was upset- furious that they kept it from me, but also so soon after he was gone. But everyone grieves in their own fucking way. Right?

But I was just relieved to have my memories back, and desperately needed Andre's comfort that I no longer gave a fuck...

But while Luke was alive?! While he was here, while him and Cate were together--

None of it was real, the voice in the back of my head screams. Cate never loved Luke. She never gave a fuck about him.

My shakes hands reach out beside me to Jordan and they squeeze my hand, jumping to their feet. "Are you fucking serious?"

"N-no." Andre holds up a hand to them.

"Was that real?" Jordan shouts, one hand resting on my shoulder.

Nooo, no, this can't be happening. This can't be happening.

And I never knew? I never saw it? Noticed anything?!

"Andre." I manage to get out, finally looking up at him. It feels wrong to say. Not Magnet. I inhale, nostrils flaring as tears roll down my cheeks. "Tell me she made you do it, Andre. Please."

"She didn't make you do it, did she?" Luke says lowly, looking between Andre and I. "You wanted to. Behind my back."

"I'm-I'm sorry." Andre rushes out. I shake my head.

"I thought you were my best friend." Luke says. Andre's mouth parts and Luke's nostrils flare before his eyes light up and hands light on fire. My eyes widen and before I can even think Jordan's pulling me up out of my chair.

"Woah, woah, woah, woah, out of my way, cunts!" Dusty screams, shoving past us and Andre, and Luke throws a large ball of fire at him and Dusty bursts.

"Oh, Jesus." Marie shudders.

Andre shoves his hand out at metal and Jordan's fists ball up and Marie cuts her hand, shoving it out too.

"Don't!" I shout at them, moving out of Jordan's grasp I start towards Luke.

"I can't switch." Jordan panics and I freeze.

"My powers aren't working either." Marie rushes out.

WHAT?!

I take a deep breath, waiting for the warmth to fill my veins...

I hold my palm out and... nothing. What the fuck?

"Goldie! Goldie!" Andre shouts. "Marie, Marie, Marie."

Luke lights up again. No, no, no, not again, not again.

"Luke, Luke, hey, hey, hey, it's-"

"Iliana, let's go." Jordan yanks my arm.

"No." I pull back and Luke starts towards us. "Luke-"

"Iliana!" Jordan jerks me back into them.

"Iliana, it's not him! We have to go." Marie hollers.

"Goldie, come on." Andre hurries over to me, grabbing my wrist.

"Run!" Jordan yells and they both pull me out of the class as Marie opens the door.

"No. No!" I thrash in between them as we start running down the hall. My head is spinning a million miles per hour.

Welcome back to Golden Facade ANDDD... HAPPY 1 YEAR GEN V!!! Omfgggg, I cannot believe the 1 year anniversary is here... like what, there's just no way-

I would give LITERALLY ANYTHING to watch this show for the first time again, & omg this scene had MY head spinning, holy shitttt.

Oh my goshhh, everything about this chapter had me SICKKKK!! Nonverbal Iliana makes me wanna cry. And she called Andre Andre & not Magnet... </3 UGH JUST KILL ME NOWWWW.

But she got to see Luke again, omg... And she started getting deja vu to when he killed himself & started panicking & ugh omg my baby... our girl deserves betterrrr!!
