*PAST*
Edaliah usually loved to take strolls along the sidewalks of New York, it was calming to her, despite the excessive crowds and the amount of weirdos that walked the streets. She was often lonely and loved to see the new people who passed by, even if she hated to talk to them.
She had very few friends. She hated getting close to people, who enjoys outliving their friends watching them fade and age while you remain looking the same age, some would get suspicious and then you'd leave for another city or even state.
This whole thing had reminded her of a story, about a family who had drank from a spring and had lived forever, being forced to travel a lot to avoid being suspected. It sounded exhausting, which is was. She missed Ikaris, but couldn't get herself to see him again, it hurt, their last encounter wasn't the best.
"Eda," a voice exclaimed from behind her called. A man rushed to her and smiled happily as he took her hand into his. "I was just going to call you. Guess I don't have to now." He beamed.
"Hey Carson," she smiled softly.
By barely any friends, she meant she had a boyfriend and that was it. Carson Ackerman, a tall man, with dark eyes, he was deep tanned and his hair was spiked up.
"I was thinking, movie night with some shrimp and noodles," he told her, walking in a straight line, wobbling slightly:
"I don't like shrimp," Eda looked at him. "I never have."
"What?! You ate it last time I made it!" Carson exclaimed, he looked at her with a look of betrayal. He
"Yeah, because I felt bad," she admitted. "You worked so hard, and I couldn't let it go to waist."
"My whole life is a lie," he sighed dramatically. "After all this time. But how could you not like shrimp? It's the best thing ever." He frowned.
"I just don't like the texture," she told him. "And the thought that it came out of the ocean." She gagged.
"I think your just crazy, sea food is literally the best thing in the world," he urged, he had his stupid grin on his face, but she loved it. "I domt know you anymore." He retorted, he stopped walking suddenly. "I know you said your last boyfriend was a pilot, but I have always been interested in planes and those stuff, and I wanted to fulfill that."
Eda looked down, what she wanted to say was that her boyfriend wasn't a pilot, he could fly, he shot lasers from his eyes like Superman, but of course she couldn't, he'd think she was crazy, and she wouldn't blame him. She fiddled with her hands not realizing she was staring into space not acknowledging him at all, she'd admit Ikaris was the one he thought about a lot, she couldn't help but to think of him. "I don't mind whatsoever, I want you to be happy and do what you want, my ex doesn't effect my relationships, especially with you."
Carson smiled wiping under his nose. "Are you sure? I-I don't want to do it," he rubbed his hands excessively together, which Eda had guessed it was a nervous habit. She took his hands and kissed them.
"I'm okay with anything, plus you'll be a better pilot than him, far better I swear to you," she kissed him. She knew she would have to leave him, he would out age her soon, he'd grow old and she remained youthful and she both enjoyed and despised it. Carson was different, she loved him with her life, the thought of leaving him made her sick. Sometimes she'd think of telling him about the eternals, she didn't want him to leave her sooner than she wanted so she kept to herself. "I'm in no way effected by him, he's the past and your my present, and better to be in the moment than in the past." She kissing his palm dozens of times. "And I Hope your my future."
Silence.
"Your too cheesy for your own good," Carson snorted in laughter.
"Excuse you!" Eda gasped offendedly. She brushed her hair back, as it was sticking to her face, the wind didn't help. "It's not cheesy, it's cute," she pouted.
"It's a cute kind of cheesy," Carson poked her nose and she scrunched it. "I hate you."
"No you don't," he sang happily picking her up and twirling her.
She shrieked and pushed agaisnt his shoulders. "Put me down! This is embarrassing!" She whined, looking around.
"Embarrassing!?" He exclaimed and blew a raspberry into her cheek. "How dare you!" He put her down and took her hand. "I'm far from embarrassing to you." He beamed.
"Okayyy Pilot Boy," she ruffled his hair. "Better get to your studies if you wanna be responsible enough to fly a airplane."
"I bet you I'm already ready, I'm smart that way," he walked with her shuffling his feet, the sound of the shuffling made Eda crazy but she never said anything about it.
"Mhm, okay sir, now what movie were you planning on playing?" She asked as their hands swung up and down, his hands were warm and she felt warm and safe when he held her hand.
"I was thinking maybe.... Hmmm," he thought for a long time. "No Luke, I am your father."
"Star Wars!? Again?!" She looked at him.
"What do you mean again?" He frowned like a baby. He was a Star Wars nerd, she wasn't much of a fan herself. "You can never get to much Star Wars!"
"Welllll..." Eda teased.
"I'll get you to like it! I will!" He brooded. "And I'll be the best pilot in the galaxy- well world. Just like Han Solo."
"I love your confidence," Eda rolled her eyes. "But your gonna be better than Han Solo" she kissed his hand.
"Why are your hands always so cold?" He reached into his pocket pulling out some leather gloves. "Your making me cold." He practically shoved her hands into the gloves.
"But your hands are warm," Eda pouted, giving him the pouting lip.
He stopped walking and put his hands on her cheeks. "Is that better?" He gave her the same pout back. "Is that better for my baby Edaliah?" He mimicked, talking as if he were talking to a baby.
"Shut up," she scowled, although she was flushed. He took her now gloved hand and walked her to his apartment, it was a cute apartment, everything was cleaned up, except for the bed, which was unmade and wrinkled from the previous night.
"Okay what would YOU like to eat m'lady?" Carson opened the fridge as Eda looked through movie VHS tapes.
"Pizza," she said without looking up.
"We always have pizza!" He exclaimed with an exaggerated whine.
"And we always watch Star Wars, it's a fair deal," she pointed out pulling out Empire Strikes back. "If I'm gonna be tortured, you are too." She put the VHS tape into the tv player.
"Your a-noy-ing," he scowled putting left over pizza in the microwave. "It's left overs then."
"Pizza is Pizza," Eda beamed sitting back on the couch.
Ignoring the timer on the pizza in the microwave he jumped onto the couch with her and showered her in kisses. "Carson! Stop itttt!" She whined in laughs. "Your smelly."
"Smelly?" He raised an eyebrow and then smirked as he hugged her tightly. "Embrace the stench!" He exclaimed.
Eda shrieked in laughter as she hit him with a pillow. The laughs were apparently too loud, someone banged on the wall from next door, where an elderly couple lived, they hated noise.
They went quiet and then looked at each other before bursting into quieter laughter. He hugged her, taking a blanket and wrapping it around her. Then proceeded to quote every line in the movie. She rolled her eyes.
She loved Carson with her heart, she did. But why was her mind still on him? Why was it? She was over him, right?
She couldn't get him out of her mind...
