"The Calm before the Storm..."

Jamie blinking softly as she woke up to some light peeking through the window, sitting up with squinting eyes. Her vision clearing up and doesn't recognize the place, then remembering what happened last night.

She looks down to find a blanket over her body, which kept her warm from the cold weather of rain. Stretching briefly before standing up and walks around in search of her friend, but there was no sign of him anywhere. Then the girl enters the kitchen to catch a note on the fridge, walking towards to pull it off the magnet that held it and read the piece of paper.

'I went early to the Moon Theater to practice, but I made you some breakfast before I left, hope u like it and see you later. - Johnny ;)'

She lowers her hand with the small paper, scanning around again. A soft gasp left her lips once her eyes land on the table.

Pancakes. Her favorite too, he must've remembered when they ate at the diner last week.

She couldn't help but smile at sight, walking over to take a seat and devour the prepped dish by her gorilla friend. Jamie had to make it up to Johnny for this, especially having her sleep over when she was supposed to get back to Ginn, Jason, and Tiny.

Not once picked up her phone ever since she left the apartment, still a little hurt with their fight yesterday.

As she took a bite of her pancakes, a hum of delight once it was in her mouth. Jamie was definitely going to thank the primate with something when she is done and gets ready to leave.

The young girl stops in front of the Moon Theater. Inhaling a deep breath before heading inside and pushing the door. "Hey, guys." Flashing a smile and walks backstage and waves at her fellow animal friends.

Meena turns as her eyes widen in shock. "Jamie!" She smiles softly, "How are you feeling?"

"I'm good, how about you two?"

"Pretty darn good so far, especially with what we prepared earlier for our first run through rehearsal for Nana today." Moon smiling as he did a little rhythm with tapping his clipboard with the pen in hand. "Anyways, what brings you here?"

"I'm actually here to confirm that I am still joining the show."

"Are you sure?" Buster was a little hesitant considering what happened days ago to the poor girl, but another part of him hoping that she would pull through.

She laughs softly with a firm nod. "Yes, I'm sure, Buster."

"Okay, then. Welcome back, kiddo!" The koala grinning from ear to ear with a nod and left to continue final checks around the theater before the first run today for Nana.

The human girl notices some of the glass missing and replacing parts. "Woah, I'm guessing you guys were working on the water stage?"

"Pretty much, yeah..." Meena smiled softly at her small friend, but frowned a little as she asked. "But, you can be honest with me. You sure you're okay?"

The human girl stops in her steps to look at the elephant. "Yes, I'm certain... But thanks for asking though, M." Earning a smile from her animal friend as they exchange a hug, then laughing together softly.

"Anyways, Meena, do you know where Johnny is?"

Johnny finishes practicing at the piano. He's exhausted and breathless, his self esteem was high from all the practicing. "How's that Miss Crawly?" He asks beaming and turns to see Miss Crawly snoring away on her stool chair. Then heard a knock from behind the door, clearing his throat and replies. "Oh uh, come in."

"Hey..." Jamie waves and enters with closing the door softly in noticing the elderly iguana. A soft smile hovering the gorilla's face once his eyes saw his friend. "Hi... How are you this morning?"

"Better... Thanks for letting me stay the night and the lovely pancakes you made by the way."

"Oh, did you like them?"

The young girl sighing happily in delight as she remembers the meal. "It was delicious... Some of the best I've had in a while."

There was a pause in their conversation as they sat in silence then the young girl perks in remembering something. "Oh, I uhm..." She pulls her bag from the side and rummages through it to hold out a tiny box for the gorilla to take.

His eyes wide in shock, staring at the human in disbelief. "Wha? You didn't need to get me anything."

"Yeah, well I wanted to..." she shrugged with a sheepish grin, then bops her head to gesture him to open it.

"Thank you, J." He glances between her and the tiny gift in his hands, then the door flies open to reveal Meena. "Hey!" Miss Crawly falls out of her chair with a yelp and onto the floor.

The elephant winced slightly with apologetic eyes and looked at the two. "Sorry! Mr. Moon would like everyone to meet backstage before Nana arrives!"

"Gunter, what's up?" The pig was about to ask about her well being since he witnessed what happened, to which Jamie raised her hand reassuringly. "Hey, I'm fine. There's no need to worry, buddy."

"I am vust scared on Rosita vot showing up after she stormed off yesterday." He explained with a sigh, a sad look hovered his features.

"I'm sure, Rosita will come back. She just needs a little breather... Y'know, being a mom to twenty five piglets is not an easy task." She shrugs and walks over to the pig while looking around the room.

Then gets an idea to help cheer him up, a small smile hovering her lips. "Now, why don't you show me some of those dance moves you were teaching her?"

The young girl laughing softly as she gave the pig a comforting hug, hopefully lifting his spirits on Rosita coming back. Which the human was certain would be case.

Then her ears heard a guitar being tuned, she follows the sound as it got louder and found herself outside where the teenage porcupine resides, then walks in slowly to see the female guitarist singing.

Ash's eyes are closed as finishes up a song that was somewhat familiar to her. "This is my big hello, because I'm here and never letting go, I can finally see that it's not just a dream..."

Ash pauses open her eyes and looks up to catch the human watching her, who fumbles a bit from getting caught. "Oh, s-sorry... I should've knocked..."

"Its okay, but at least you pointed your mistake." The porcupine raises an eyebrow but chuckles lowly, Jamie rubbing the back of her neck shyly with a small laugh, then nods as she stood there. "That was good... What you were playing... But I've never heard it before though."

"Yeah? It's something I've been working on." The angsty teen explains with strumming a few chords.

"When you set it all free, all free, all free, you set it all free..." Ash finishes and looks at the human, who is staring at her, mouth agape and changes to a grin on her lips.

Buster behind the young girl looks shocked. "Wow... You wrote that?" He asks with pointing his pen at her.

Ash felt a little awkward but shrugs softly, "Uh, yeah..." Then asks, "Do you like it?"

"Are you kidding? It's fantastic! You gotta sing that today!" Buster grinning from ear to ear with jotting down notes on his clipboard for final additions.

Ash lights up as she glances down with a smile growing.

"He's not wrong you know, I think you should sing it in front of Nana." Jamie spoke up as she stands up with a stretch, "By the way, is it about..."

Ash remaining silent at the question as her smile fades away, the human got the hint and shook her head. "Hey, it's okay. You don't have to say his name, we don't mention that jerk ever again." She says as the porcupine stifles a laugh and Jamie smiles a bit bur sighs, "I'm sorry for asking that."

The rock teenager waves her hand gently with a sniffle, "It's okay... But thanks."

Buster walks backstage gleefully and turns to give orders to the cast. Specifically on who will go first and perform next to assemble the flow of the show. Clipboard in hand, he turns to the white rodent with lightly hitting his pen on the list. "Okay, Mike, you're on first..."

The mouse on his fancy chair with a pillow underneath to keep him comfortable. He nods and waves his hand at the koala with a smile. "Sure. Just a second here..." sipping the straw from his beverage as his phone began to ring.

He answers to hear his girlfriend's voice, "Hi, honey... Yeah, I'm busy. What? Wait, I can't hear ya..." Mike gets down from his chair to get better reception.

Buster walks towards the pig with his clipboard, "Rosita and Gunter, you're on after Mike." Unaware of the nervous look on the male's features on the possibility that they won't push through after the mother's abrupt leave yesterday.

Before he would reply though, Rosita rushes into the scene carrying the song list and her bag over her shoulder. She smiles with a new demeanour that was determined and confident. "You got it boss."

"Rosita! Haha! Super cool! You've like, totally come back!" Gunter shares a high-five with his partner happily, his worry gone and back to his positive self.

Buster walks to the gorilla who sat on the bottom of the stairs to his office, "Okay, Johnny, you'll follow them..."

Johnny was a little distracted from the latest newspaper, his dad is front page news, he looks up to the koala in confusion. "Wha?" Then shook his head to focus and nods gently. "Oh yeah, I'm ready, yeah, yeah, yeah..."

Buster writes down on the list, then continues his task. "Ash, you're-"

"-After Johnny, I got it." The porcupine pushing a rack of costumes towards her dressing room, passing the showman and flashing a thumbs up.

"Okay, uh... Jamie, you good with going next?"

The human girl looks down from looking at the mirror to the koala, she shrugs with a nod. "Yeah, sure..." Then looks back to her reflection and examining the outfit in her hand, trying to finalize her look for the show.

She pauses to pull out her phone and find fifty missed calls from Ginn, Jason and Tiny, including thirty unread messages from the trio. Inhaling softly and clicks to type a message to her bunny friend, typing down her apology to what went through her mind. Then stops as her thumb hovers the send button, unsure on why she was hesitating.

"Mr. Moon!" They all look up to where the reptilian assistant was, by a window and a shaking gently, pointing outside with her mini binoculars in band. "...She's here!"
