9.) Sunday Dojo
On Sundays when Hibiki has off school, she heads to her family's dojo to help teach some late classes. The late classes are for people who aren't signed up to the dojo and can walk in and pay. Sometimes people who are members come as well for extra practice, but they typically go train in one of the open dojo areas. Not a lot of people actually come, so Hibiki typically just trains by herself.
"Hey, imouto," Hibiki's elder brother, Takeshi, greets, swinging his arm over her shoulders.
"Hey, ani," Hibiki responds. "Don't you have a sword class to teach?"
"On my way there now!" He slips his arm off her shoulder. "Your nephews have been missing you. You should take them with you to that fancy school you teach at."
"They have their own school to attend, and I don't think I'm allowed to, but I'll see."
"Well, Hideki plans on following in your footsteps to be a hero. He's planning to go to your school next year. I have no doubt he'll make it with his unique quirk." He begins to head to the dojo with his class. "I'll see you later."
Hibiki waves him off before heading off to the dojo with the late class. She slides open the door and finds no one inside. Hah, training by myself.
She begins to slowly warm up and then trains hard for around 30 minutes. She takes a short break to take a drink and wipe off her sweat. The door to the room is opened.
~.~POV change~.~
Aizawa groans as he would rather not get up, but he's slept long enough. He stretches with a yawn before sitting up and rubbing his eyes to quickly clear his vision.
It's nice to be able to use his arms now even if not completely. He still is technically not allowed to lift things above 25 pounds. Doesn't mean he hasn't struggled to though.
He pets his two cats, snuggled on the bed beside him, as he checks his phone. He looks at the message from Recovery Girl, telling him to come to her place as soon as he wakes up for a final treatment. He responds before swinging his legs off the side of the bed and standing up to head to the bathroom.
After feeding the cats and getting ready, he heads over to Recovery Girl's house.
"Aizawa it's nearly 5 o'clock in the afternoon!" she huffs as she answers the door. "You do need to take care of yourself better! Did you even eat?"
"I don't need to be nagged," Aizawa sighs, entering the house. "I was on patrol late."
"A patrol you shouldn't even be on until you've completely recovered!"
"Yeah, yeah," Aizawa waves off as he sits on her couch.
Chiyo huffs with little irritated puffs coming from her ears. She moves over and unwraps his arms, giving each a kiss, for the last treatment. She sighs. "Alright, you should be all healed now."
"Thanks, Shuzenji."
"Don't be getting hurt this bad again and make Noizu-san take care of you again. You need to take better care of yourself."
"Hey, she volunteered to help me," Aizawa says. "I even refused, but she persisted. She's a bit stubborn."
"Ironic coming from you, boy."
Aizawa rolls his eyes in reply, standing up. "I should get going. I planned to rehabilitate my body after this."
"That explains the training clothes, though I wish you'd rest a bit first before heading out."
"I'll be fine. I'm used to being a bit sleepy."
Chiyo rolls her eyes. "No patrol tonight then. Get rest."
He doesn't answer as he heads to the door. "See you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow, dear."
He closes the door behind him and makes his way to his usual dojo.
He hasn't been there for a few years though, too busy with heroing and teaching. He usually grades studentwork on Sundays.
He flashes his member pass at the guard as he enters, seeing much has changed but still basically the same. He just hopes that the room he typically went to was unoccupied like it always was at this time. He slides the door open to find he's not alone, and it's not just anyone either.
~.~.~.~
"If you're here to train, you're late," Hibiki voices, turning to the door. Her eyes widen as she recognizes the person standing there, frozen in the doorway. "Aizawa?"
His eyes scan her attire along with her body unintentionally, making Hibiki earn a light blush. She's used to wandering eyes of who she teaches at the dojo, but from a coworker is a little embarrassing. She also looks at him, he's wearing a tank top with some sweats. His giant muscles are prominent. When she was taking care of him, she didn't look at him at all when she was helping him. She zoned herself out then, but now she's seeing just how attractive his body really is.
"I... I'm here to get myself back after the whole... broken and couldn't move thing," he says, slightly glancing away from her and clutching the back of his neck. "Should've known this was your family's dojo."
"Well, warm up and then we can fight, that work?"
"Perfect."
After about 10 minutes with Aizawa warming up and Hibiki subtly watching as she rests, they get up to have a practice battle.
"Alright, this is great," Hibiki sighs. "I don't have to hold back on you after seeing you take on all those villains. Okay! Anything goes. Whoever is pinned to the mat for more than... 7 seconds wins."
"Deal."
They start the match, circling and observing each other, waiting on the other to make the first move.
Aizawa is the first to move, making Hibiki lean back to dodge the swift kicks. She drops to the ground and swipe kicks him, but he jumps over it.
She smiles, the only other people she's trained with before are her family or family friends. It's nice to have a different challenge. One where she doesn't know how he'll act like she can determine when training with her family. She's really enjoying this.
They continue to trade blows until Hibiki is able to land him on his back. "Got ya."
He groans. "Mmm, but you haven't pinned me yet." He moves fast and grabs Hibiki by the waist, but manages to trip on his own two feet. He falls back down, dragging Hibiki with him.
Her hands end up on either side of his head, staring at him in slight surprise.
They gaze at each other for a few moments before Hibiki flushes and quickly gets off.
"L-Looks like I won..." she mutters embarrassed.
Aizawa closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, exhaling slowly before sitting up. "Seems so. Guess I'm still a little... off balance after being on rest for a week."
Hibiki chuckles. "It's fine, I get it. I did take it a little easy on you because of that."
"I figured. When I'm in better health, I want a fair rematch."
She smirks. "Deal." She stands up and moves to take a swig of her water. She looks at the time to read 6pm. "First things first, you need to start eating better. How about you join my family for dinner tonight?"
"I shouldn't intrude."
"Mom always makes a lot of food because there's always someone in our family passing by that's hungry. I believe she's making yakitori with lots of veggies too."
"I really shouldn't. I've missed out on a lot of patrols because of my injuries."
"I'm not gonna let you say no, so you may as well just come with."
He sighs, admitting defeat. "Fine."
"Good. I'll take you to the baths and bring you a yukata to wear." She sees the look he gives her. "My... parents are kind of old fashioned. We also have hot springs here. You should probably take a dip to relax your muscles too."
"Alright, mom."
Hibiki chuckles. "Sorry." She exits the dojo and leads him to the showers. "The hot springs are out through the back. I'll come get you in two hours."
"Alright."
Hibiki heads off and enters the main housing area meant only for family. "Hey, mom?" Hibiki leans into the kitchen.
"Yes, dear?"
"Is it alright if I bring someone to eat dinner with us?"
Her mother pauses and gives a suspicious grin. "Is it a boy?"
Hibiki groans. "Mom! I'm not a little girl any more!"
Her mother, Michiko, laughs as she resumes cutting vegetables. "Alright, alright... is it a man then?"
"Mom!" Hibiki laughs. "Alright, yes, it is a 'man,' but he's just a coworker. His name is Aizawa. He's the homeroom teacher of the first year hero course."
"Oh, he's the one you mentioned was injured, correct?"
"Yes, that's him."
"Then I'll give him extra veggies."
"Who all is coming to dinner?"
"Your father, me, you, and both your brothers."
Hibiki chuckles. "Just like the old days."
"Except this time you have a friend."
"I do."
"I'll set down an extra plate for him. Now, go shower. You stink!"
"Yeah, yeah."
"And brush your hair out!"
The pro heroine leaves the kitchen and heads to her room for her yukata then to her elder brother's room to grab one of his yukatas. Aizawa is a bit shorter than him, but it should be fine. She takes it back to the men's shower, setting it down on a bench inside. She heads on over to the women's side.
~~~
After getting dressed in her own yukata, Hibiki heads back over to the personal men's side to check up on Aizawa.
She knocks on the door. "Aizawa? Are you finished?"
After a few seconds, she gets a response. "I... might need some assistance..."
She tilts her head before heading inside. "What's wrong?"
"It's been a very long time since I've tied one of these."
Hibiki chuckles, seeing his predicament with the yukata. "I'll take care of it." She skillfully ties it in a couple seconds. "There you go."
Aizawa turns to her. "You... look nice."
"You don't look to bad yourself. Sit down. Let me put your hair up, so my mom won't pitch a fit."
"Alright." He does as told, sitting down on the nearby bench.
She grabs a brush and combs his hair up into a bun. He releases a low hum as she does, enjoying having her play with his hair.
She chuckles. "Feel good?"
"Mmm?"
"You're basically purring."
"Am I? I didn't notice."
She chuckles again. "I think I found your soft spot."
"I guess so."
She gets his hair up, setting the brush down. "There you go, all finished."
"Thank you," he says, standing up. He looks down at her. "...You... really are short."
Hibiki puffs her cheeks out and stomps her foot. "I know I'm short! You don't have to point it out!" She crosses her arms in a huff.
He gives an amused chuckle and pats her head. "Let's go."
She sighs. "Alright, the living area is this way."
He shuffles along behind her, looking at everything they pass by. She takes him into the living room and leads him into the dining area. Already sitting at the table is Akio, Hibiki's younger brother.
Akio looks up from his phone, seeing them enter from his peripheral view. He tilts his head. "Who is this, Hibi?"
"This is Aizawa-san, he's a fellow teacher with me at UA. He was training here today, so I invited him to dinner."
"Ah." He sighs. "For a minute I thought he might be a boyfriend from nowhere. I was surprised you'd bring him without even hearing about him first."
Hibiki chuckles. "You know I always keep you all in the know."
Akio smiles, looking to Aizawa. "Hi, I'm Akio. I'm the youngest of three. You must be the coworker she was taking care of for a week or so."
"That would be me."
The two sibling's mom walks in the room, carrying a dish and placing it on the table. She turns around and notices the two. "Ah, you must be our plus one tonight."
"Yes, ma'am."
Michiko smiles. "Handsome and polite. It's nice to meet you, Aizawa. My name is Michiko. Call me whatever you like dear. Michiko, Michi... mom?"
"Mom!"
She giggles. "I'm just kidding!" she jokes. "...unless?"
"Mom!" Hibiki shouts again.
Her mother laughs and heads back into the kitchen.
Hibiki covers her flushed face with her hand. "I'm sorry about her... She's so embarrassing."
"Imouto! Otouto! It's been a while since we were all together!" Takeshi, the eldest sibling, boisterously says as he enters the room. He swallows the two in a hug. "It'll be like old times."
"Except Hibiki brought a friend," Akio says.
"Huh?" Takeshi turns around and looks down at Aizawa. "Ah! My apologies, I didn't notice you there! Who are you? A boyfriend perhaps?" He wiggles his eyebrows at his sister.
"No, I work with your sister at UA," Aizawa answers.
"Ah, the one you took care of?" Takeshi questions as his sister nods to confirm. "It's nice to meet you, Aizawa, was it? I'm Takeshi! I'm the eldest sibling." He holds out his hand to shake, and Aizawa returns it.
"Nice to meet you." Aizawa looks at Takeshi's hair. "You really weren't kidding when you said your brother had extremely long hair."
Hibiki looks at him in surprise. "I can't believe you remember me telling you that."
Takeshi takes off the katana resting at his side and places it against the wall. "We heard a bit about you. She was real worried for you after the attack and everything." He moves to sit on the pillow beside his younger brother at the traditional Japanese table.
Hibiki takes her place on a pillow across from her elder brother, Takeshi. Aizawa moves to sit beside her.
"Where's dad?"
"He should be here in a bit. Just got out of a lesson, before I came here, so he went to take a quick bath," Takeshi answers.
Hibiki nods.
"So, how are you recovering?" Akio asks Aizawa.
"Still a little off, but I should be good in a few days or so," Aizawa answers.
Michiko, their mother, walks out with another dish of food, placing it on the table before sitting at the end beside Aizawa and Akio. "Everyone ready to eat?"
"Yeah, just waiting on dad," Akio says.
"Well, while we wait, how about you tell us how you're doing at UA?" Michiko asks Hibiki.
"I'm having fun," Hibiki honestly answers. "Besides the obvious problems, it's a lot like I'm teaching a class here! Except I get to reprimand them in more ways than just exercises."
"How do you think she's doing, dear?" her mother asks Aizawa.
"She's doing good, and the students like her," Aizawa answers. "It's not the way I teach, but it's fitting for her. Everyone is different."
"I'm glad you approve," Hibiki chuckles.
"Well tell us about yourself, Aizawa," Takeshi pushes.
"Not much to say," he replies. "I'm a teacher and a pro hero, but I assume you all already knew that."
That's the moment Masahiko Noizu, the Noizu family head aka Hibiki's father, decides to make his entrance. The three siblings stand as does Aizawa, giving him a quick polite bow.
His imposing figure gazes down at everyone in the room.
His presence is more intimidating and overwhelming than Endeavor and All Might combined. Aizawa thinks.
His gaze immediately goes to Aizawa and glares him down.
Aizawa returns the gaze with indifference. "Noizu?" He turns to Hibiki. "With as tall as your father is, how are you so short?"
Takeshi smirks and laughs, moving around the table. "She's the smallest in the family!" He swings his arm around her, completely swallowing her small form.
Hibiki gains a little color to her cheeks. "Aniii!"
He heartily chuckles, squeezing his sister's cheeks. "My cute wittle imouto."
She slaps his hand off and judo flips him over her shoulder. "You're embarrassing."
He laughs from the floor before sitting up. "Fiesty little imouto."
Masahiko grins. "That's my little girl. Now, who is this?"
"This is Aizawa, father," Hibiki says. "He's a fellow teacher at UA."
"Ah, the one who got injured, correct?"
"Yes."
"Pleasure. I'm Masahiko." He sits at the head of the table, across his wife and beside his two eldest children. "Well, let's dig in, shall we?"
