31.) Crossover Prologue

Eri woke Hibiki up this morning. Hibiki was off in her own fantasy dream of bliss. Her body is full of warm fuzzies as she happily strolls around getting ready. Everything seemed right in the world.

"She's lost in her own happy world," Nemuri mumbles to Hizashi as they watch her dance around the kitchen, making breakfast. "Think she got laid last night?"

"Why must you always think that?" Ken, Cementoss, sighs with a shake of his head.

The three of them are sitting at the bar, sipping their chosen morning beverages.

"Do you not know who I am?" Nemuri scoffs disappointed.

Ken rolls his eyes in reply.

"Something good must've happened though," Hizashi says. "Hey, Hibi-jeebie chibi! You're in a good mood what happened?"

She twirls with a big smile, finishing off the last touches of food. "Noooothiiing!"

"Ooh?~ You definitely got laid!" Nemuri exclaims, swooning. "You and Fatgum doing good then?"

"Oh! No! Actually, I... um... broke up with him last night..."

"What?!" Nemuri shouts. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?!"

"She said it was last night. When would she have told you?" Ken comments but gets ignored.

"That's why you're in a good mood?!" Mic exasperates. "How cruel!"

"Really?" Nemuri asks, tilting her head.

"Yeah, I... just wasn't interested in him anymore. We're still friends. But no! That's not why I'm in a good mood. Also, I'm not pregnant with his child. If you thought that too. The 'symptoms' were because of now resolved health issues."

"Then why are you–"

"Morning..." Aizawa greets, entering from the stairs.

Hibiki squeaks. "Ah! I-I just remembered I need to go set things up for my first class! Bye!" She rushes out the building, scooping up Eri and taking food to go as she leaves.

Aizawa watches amused before heading for the coffee Hibiki obviously made for him.

"Oohhh~ Suspicious..." Nemuri smirks, eyeing Aizawa's also good mood. "Hibi was in high spirits. Any idea why?"

Aizawa shrugs, sipping his drink.

"She told me she cut it off with Fatgum!" Mic announces.

"...Did she?"

"You already knew that though," Mic narrows his eyes. "That's why you're happy."

"Oh?" Ken questions confused. "What am I missing?"

Aizawa glares at Mic before he blurts something else out.

Mic hesitates before responding. "Shota didn't approve."

"Really?" Ken says surprised. "Fatgum is a really nice person. They looked happy from what I saw during the cultural festival."

Aizawa's eye twitches. "I'm not having this conversation. I'm leaving."

...

The next few weeks were similar with Hibiki completely avoiding Aizawa. She was no longer in a blissful mood now more in a panic as she realized something.

Aizawa never answered her.

He never said it back.

She only assumed when he said she could call him Shota, but he never actually responded to returning her feelings. She felt so stupid. Also... How awful would it be of her to date someone immediately after breaking it off with another? Distasteful and disgusting.

Now that she's single, she's realizing how much she actually likes Aizawa. She has it for him bad. It was genuinely terrifying her. She doesn't think she could take it if he truly rejects her. Her heart hurt already at the thought.

It's easier to just avoid him from having to hear the actual rejection.

Eri has been begging Hibiki to visit her cousins. Hideki and Ren love her so much. It was once again the weekend, and Hibiki brought them over to her parent's place. Her older brother's family was staying over for the weekend. This way Eri will be able to visit her grandparents too.

Hibiki just returned from dropping her off. She trusts her parents to protect little Eri. Eri has made leaps in her quirk control too. She'll be safe.

She enters the apartment, knowing Aizawa is in his room. She checks as soon as she enters the building to make sure they don't cross paths.

Her wrists are grabbed and the door is slammed closed with the force of her body being thrown back against it. She starts to respond, making subtle movements to flip the attack back onto her opponent but stops at the annoyed grunt. The annoyed familiar grunt.

"You've been avoiding me," he huffs a hint of anger rolling off it.

"Ah!" Hibiki squeaks, face immediately flushing as she turns away.

Aizawa's grip lessens. "Hibiki..." She melts at him using her name. "Look at me." She refuses which earns an adjustment of her wrists being moved to one hand. The other hand is used to lift her chin. She keeps her eyes averted, feeling herself flush from head to toe. He chuckles lightly. "Now, now, don't be difficult, little kohai."

She squeaks in surprise again, eyes widening as she finally looks at him. He smirks, hand dropping to her waist. "Ai—Sho-Shota..." She takes his light grip back at him and flips him on his ass. "What is wrong with you?!" She covers her mouth in shock at what she just did. "Ah! I'm sorry! I–" She rushes off into her room, heart racing. She locks the door before burrowing into her bed, curling into herself embarrassed. She groans to herself, smacking her forehead repeatedly. "You idiot! Why did you do thaaat?!?..." I'm such a child. Stupid! Stupid! Why would he ever love you back at this point?!

Aizawa remains dazed on the floor. The back of his head is most definitely swollen. He might have a concussion from the force of that throw. He groans. ...Why did he find that so attractive?

He'll confront her again in a few days. He definitely should see Recovery Girl first thing tomorrow though.

...

A few days later... Hibiki and Aizawa were both steering clear of each other which was increasingly annoying Hizashi and Nemuri. They were about to throw them in a closet together if they knew they couldn't easily get out.

Hibiki was having an overload kind of day and decided to wear some earplugs to tone down her superhearing.

She was currently focused in on finding Aizawa, listening just for his movements and heartbeat.

Both Hawks and Galaxy messaged her that Galaxy was gonna try something new with her powers, and they wanted her to come observe. She agreed. But... they wanted Aizawa to come too just in case she lost control. It was up to her to ask him. She really didn't want to.

Hibiki finds Aizawa in one of the school's gyms.

"Sho–" She stops herself, catching eyes with familiar purple hair. "Oh, Shinso, you're here too."

They both look at her in surprise. Aizawa was obvious, but Shinso was cause she was gonna call his mentor by his first name. He grins, glancing at his sensei mischievously.

He either doesn't notice or ignores Shinso. "Noizu, you... you need something?" Aizawa asks still recovering.

"Galaxy has asked me to bring you with me to oversee her trying out a new part of her quirk," she explains. "She wants you to be able to stop her if she loses control. Her quirk could easily become incredibly dangerous if something goes wrong. I don't think anything will though. She's made leaps in control since I've trained her. Shinso you're welcome to come too if you'd like."

"Today?" Aizawa asks.

"No, tomorrow. She planned it for our day off. It's later in the day. 5 o'clock."

Aizawa nods. "We'll go."

...

It was a mistake.

Galaxy was making portals. Simple portals like the villain Kurogiri. Short distance transfer.

It started out well. Hibiki sent through a few clones, and they would reappear after a second, moving in and out of the portals. Galaxy opened the exit portal to the building's roof. Then she moved the exit a few buildings down.

Everything was fine.

Until it wasn't.

A villain attacked.

Not intentionally from what Echo could tell. There was a nearby fight, and the exit portal got hit with some kind of beam quirk. The portal reacted to it and shut down but was reflected into the opening portal.

The portal collapsed on itself and began to suck everything in like Thirteen's black hole quirk.

Aizawa, unfortunately, was the first to go through.

"Shota!"

"Sensei!"

Panic rose from there as the portal started to destabilize.

Galaxy was trying to shut it off the moment before Aizawa was pulled in. It got bigger, and the pull got stronger after he was gone.

It didn't take long for it to suck in Shinso too. It grew in size.

"Shinso! Dammit! Galaxy! Where did they go?!" Echo shouts over the loud wind. She's crouched low to the ground, holding herself there with her nanotech.

Hawks is holding on to a long door handle. His legs are wrapped around Galaxy's torso to prevent her from going into the portal too.

"I don't know!"

It's too late by the time Galaxy was about to close it, Hibiki was dragged into it too.

The portal closed behind her.

"Shit!" Hawks yells as they fall to the floor.

Galaxy stares at where the portal just was. Her whole body is shaking as tears form in her eyes. "What did I just do?... Keigo! What did I just do?! How are we gonna get them back?! I don't even know where they went! I didn't create an exit portal!"

He pulls her into his chest, rubbing her back to try and calm her. "I'm sure they're going to be okay. Those two are a vicious pair together. We'll figure it out and bring all three back. In the meantime... we need to make some calls..."

Echo woke up on an empty rooftop. Every sense was screaming at her. The smell was so awful she could taste it. Everything was so dark. It was so quiet that it was loud. She felt dirty and grimy. The air was wet like it never stopped raining.

She shot up becoming aware of everything that happened. "Shota? Shinso?" There was no reply, but she knew she wouldn't get one. She was alone on this rooftop. Echo pulls herself off the ground to the edge of the building, overlooking the city she was in. "Where am I? Where are Shota and Shinso?"

She begins making clones.

🖤🖤🖤

Aizawa regretted his decision. He should've said no when Hibiki asked to help someone else. Why would he wanna help someone else? He sighs. Oh, yeah, being a hero and all that shit.

He sits up from the alleyway he was dumped out in. How long he's been laying in the dirty and smelly ass alley, he doesn't know. It's wet and grimy. He feels like he's taken a dip in sludge. He stands, pulling his phone from his pocket to find where he ended up. No service. Fantastic.

He rubs his eyes with a groan. His phone goes back into its assigned pocket and pulls out his eyedrops instead. Eyedrops go back after using them, and he starts walking.

Aizawa makes his way to the nearest fire escape stairs and parkours up to the roof.

He freezes, reading all the nearest billboards. They're not in kanji. It's English. He can't speak English. Not well enough to hold a conversation.

He's so fucked.

This city is dark, cold, windy, and so murky. Nothing compared to Tokyo. An ominous, sticky feeling in the air settles itself in the hero's chest. He doesn't like this place. The —as his idiotic students would say— vibes are off.

Gunshots go off in the distance.

As much as he wants to investigate, he shouldn't. He needs to find out where he is, so he makes his way down to street level.

~~~
This place is a pit of criminals, Aizawa decides after the sixth attempted mugging. He easily beat down each one, tying them up in capture tape. He keeps to the rooftop now to avoid any unnecessary problems again. He pulls his goggles up over his eyes.
It also feels like a ghost town. He hasn't seen one person who likely isn't a criminal. He also hasn't seen anyone with mutant quirks or any visual kind of quirk period.
Maybe this city rejected heteromorphs. There are still places like that, but he didn't think there'd be one as big as this.
He was starting to think this wasn't his world. That was a terrifying thought.
He needed to find shelter, something to eat, and somewhere to do some research. He wasn't having luck in any of the three. He couldn't ask anyone for help with the language barrier, he couldn't trust anyone enough to even ask, and he couldn't read anything. Well, he could read things just didn't know what it meant. Only English he could remember were pleasantries. Nothing important.
Wayne, Batburger, Big Belly, liquor, Solomon Bros, Got ham?, Got ham city cabaret, Monarch Theater, bars, clubs, hotels, and Park Row.
I know it's been a minute. This is the beginning of next chapter. I'm currently at 16K words with it and it's not even halfway done. It's gonna take a good while for it to be finished.
I posted this to give you some crumbs while you wait.
Shinso's powers I've taken to the next level. I'm doing things that he's likely unable to do or maybe eventually could with enough practice. Just btws. Also, even tho I hate this in crossovers, Aizawa's quirk works on all powers not just quirks.
This is a long one.
Spoiler it takes place over 6 months but in reality takes 6 hours. Lotta moving forward in this chapter.
Also if it wasn't obvious this is a crossover with Batman. If you aren't familiar, I recommend reading Wayne Family Adventures on webtoon. Super cute and gives u a general idea of who's who.
I cut this chapter off right before we get into it, so you can have some time to know Batman if you don't.
