23.) Goodbye Galaxy and Hello First Date

(Found the picture above and thought that's what Echo would look like as a villain.)

The internships for the students involved in the Shie Hassaikai Raid have been postponed until everyone has recovered and things go back to their normal routine. A school cultural festival has been in talks with the teachers. They're going to tell their students in a few days. Bakugo and Todoroki are almost done with their remedial course, Eri has woken up, and Mirio is able to get up to his wrist through whatever he phases through.

Currently, Hibiki is at her agency in her office, waiting for one of her first ever sidekicks to arrive for a meeting. Big things are going to change for her. This is a decision that Hibiki has been thinking about ever since the younger girl arrived.

A knock comes to the door, and Seiuna comes in, shutting the door behind her. "You asked for me?"

"I did. Come sit." Echo gestures to the chairs in front of her desk. "We need to talk."

Seiuna slowly moves to sit in one of the chairs not making a sound as she does. Echo doesn't move or say anything only staring at her. Echo really doesn't want to do this, but it's not fair to Seiuna if she waits any longer. She deserves this. It's her future. She deserves better. She can't stay here. Hibiki wrings her hands together in her lap, trying her hardest to not bite her lip as well.

"A-Am I-I in trouble?" Seiuna eventually stutters out, breaking Echo out of her trance.

It takes a few seconds before the pro responds. "No."

"Then, why... do I have an uneasy feeling in my stomach?"

"Big things are going to be changing for you, Galaxy."

"What do you mean?"

Echo is silent as she leans forward, placing her chin on her interlaced fingers that are propped up on the table with her arms. She sighs, closing her eyes. "From today on, you are no longer my sidekick."

"Wh-What?!" Seiuna shouts. "What do you mean?! I thought you said I wasn't in trouble?! I promise that whatever I did wrong I'll make up for it! Please!"

Echo smiles sadly. "Galaxy, you've been with me ever since you graduated from UA. You even interned with me your 3rd year."

"Which is a good reason why I shouldn't be leaving! You've kept me around this long?! What did I do to make you change your mind?!"

"Please, Seiuna, let me talk," Echo huffs a bit annoyed. "This is already hard enough because I'm going to really miss you." She sighs. "You're not much younger than I am. We're only six years apart. I really don't know why you chose to be a part of my agency. I'll be honest with you, I seriously don't understand why you did. Your quirk has no sort of relation to my own." She opens her eyes and stares down her sidekick. "Galaxy, if we were to truly battle... you would absolutely destroy me. Your quirk is so incredibly powerful, and you don't even know it."

"There's absolutely no way I could ever possibly beat you! Wha-What do you mean by that?"

"Remember when you wanted to learn more about your quirk, and we conducted all those tests?"

"Yes..."

"Well, there was some information that I kept from you until this time. I regret doing it, but I didn't want to put any pressure on you. But... Seiuna you're literally an actual galaxy."

Seiuna looks at her mentor confused. "I... don't understand."

"Basically you're a walking, living, breathing galaxy. You have planets, suns, moons, asteroids, and possibly actual life living on those. You don't just have portals, force fields, and energy blasts. As strange as this sounds, you might even be the answer to other dimensions or realities."

"WHAT?!"

Echo sighs, rubbing her temples. "I'm sure you've been wondering as to why you are the only remaining sidekick of my original team. You're probably curious why I've kept you here for so long. I wanted to make sure you were ready and to protect you."

"What are you saying exactly?" Seiuna says a bit scared but also confused.

"You're ready to fly my little chick. You're ready to be an actual hero and not a sidekick anymore."

Seiuna's mouth drops open, completely speechless. "Wha-ah-huh... aaa..."

Echo giggles. "Congratulations, Galaxy. You're no longer my sidekick because you're ready to be on your own and become your own hero. I'm not going to just throw you out to the sharks though. I'm going to support and help you build your own agency. I honestly should've done this earlier but things have been a bit hectic."

"ARE YOU SERIOUS?!"

"Dead serious," Echo smiles.

"I-I... thank you... I... I don't know what to say... Thank you..."

"You're welcome. Take as much time as you need to get yourself prepared."

Seiuna gets up in a daze and stumbles out the room. "Okaay..."

Echo watches her leave the room, staring at the door for a few seconds after it's clicked shut. She groans and slumps onto her desk. She stays in that position for a few minutes before the ringing of her cell phone breaks the silence. She sits up and looks at the caller to read Toyomitsu Taishiro aka Fatgum.

She answers with a swipe of her thumb and places the phone against her ear. "Moshi moshi."

"Yo! I'm well enough to leave the hospital now!"

"Oh, that's great!"

"Ya busy?"

"I actually just finished all the important things I needed to do today."

"Great! Let's go on that date then! My schedule is free until I'm completely healed which should be tomorrow with Recovery Girl's help!"

"Oh! Okay! What do you plan on having us doing?"

An annoyed groan is heard. "Well, I originally wanted to do an amusement park for our first date, but the doctors said I can't do anything with riding a roller coaster or whatever until I'm fully healed... How about something calm like a stroll through a pretty park with a picnic?"

"That sounds great," Hibiki smiles. "What time?"

"Uh... 2 hours work? I can pick you up at your agency."

"That'd be perfect," she nods. "I'll go and get ready. How about you pick me up at my place? I'll message you the address."

"E-Even better! Tha' I can do!"

She chuckles. "Alrighty, I'll see you in a bit."

"Yep! Bye!"

She hangs up then stands, getting whatever she needs together. She leaves her office, shutting and locking the door behind her. She begins her trek down the hallway.

"Echo? Are you done for the day?"

She turns to see her assistant, Impressionist, at his desk through the open door in the room beside hers. "Yes."

Impressionist's real name is Monoma Boizuko. Hibiki just learned a few weeks ago that he's her student's older brother. Which would make sense seeing as their quirks are somewhat similar and that they look exactly alike. He is able to mimic people's voices by hearing or touching them which is why he works under Echo. He has his hero provisional license but isn't here to be a hero. He's completely dedicated to be Echo's assistant. He's the same age as Hawks, and they even went to the same high school. The only reason he has a license is sometimes Echo will bring him along on missions when his quirk is useful for the job. He's been with her since she started her hero agency.

He smiles. "You look happy."

"I am. I'm... going on a date."

"WhAT?! With WHO?!"

She laughs. "Toyomitsu, but you would know him by his hero name, Fatgum."

"Fatgum! Wow, that is not who I expected," he mumbles, bringing a hand to his chin in thought. "I'm happy for you though! Hope it goes well."

"Me too."

He chuckles. "It's about time you're going on a date too. Jeez, when is the last time you actually went on one. 21?"

"Ha. Ha. Shut up... And it was 22 for your information."

He laughs. "Honestly, I'm surprised you're ever single at all. You're literally an angel. I mean, your whole family is gorgeous."

"Boiz!"

He laughs. "I mean, seeing your brothers made me realize I was bi. And your dad, I mean holy, can you say daddy?"

"Monoma Boizuko!"

He cackles. "Whaat? You know it's true."

Echo shakes her head. "I'm leaving." She waves him off and heads up to the roof of her building, putting her things in her suit to free up her arms as she goes and opening the door once at the top. Red blocks her vision as she does. "Hawks?"

"Ah, uh, heyyy..." He quickly steps back from the door, so he wouldn't run into her.

"What are you doing here? You're always here now, don't you have anything better to do than stalk my sidekick?"

"According to her, she's now your ex-sidekick. I came to congratulate her."

"I think I'm going to up security to not let you inside or hangout on this building anymore," she bluntly says.

He gasps. "That's so mean, Hibiki senpai!"

She rolls her eyes. "You're annoying."

He grins then sighs. "She's nervous. She doesn't think she's ready."

"She's never gonna truly be ready if I don't send her off," Hibiki sighs. "Trust me, I don't want to let her go. She's... like a little sister. A sister I never had." She looks him in the eyes. "Plus... she has you. You'll help her, correct?"

He smiles. "With all I can give."

She watches his head over heels expression and smiles. "I will kick your ass if you hurt her."

"I know."

"Have you confessed yet?"

"C-Confessed what?!"

"That you love her."

"Wh-What?! What're you talking about?! Are you crazy?! Pssssh! Love?! What even is that?!"

She laughs. "Alright, if you say so. I have a date to get ready for." She scrunches up her face and flinches right after she says it, immediately regretting telling him that.

"Oh?~" he grins like the cheshire cat, moving closer to her. "Who is it? Do I know him? Hero? Villain? Normal civilian?"

She groans. "It's Fatgum."

"Fatgum?! You'd really choose him over me?"

"Well, for one, he is the same age as me," she says.

"Okay, fine. So that's your type. Way big and fat?" His eyes widen. "Holy crap, Hibiki! You're like a baby compared to him! He'll completely destroy you with his di–."

"Takami Keigo!"

He cackles. "WhaaaT?! His dick has to be huge! He'll rip you in half!"

She moves to slap him, but he quickly avoids it.

Her face is as red as his wings. "For your information, he isn't always that big! He's like All Might in a way. Big form and little form. You know, now that I think about it... he kinda looks like you when he's smaller. Obviously taller though."

"So tall blond dudes are your type."

"What?! No! What's that even supposed to mean?!"

"Well, I guess it's not really hard to be taller than you."

"I'll have you know that I'm at least taller than some of my students," she confidently replies.

He laughs. "What one? Two?"

"Eight!"

"Oh~" he sarcastically says with an eye roll and an amused grin. "What are they midgets?"

She stays silent, crossing her arms as she pouts her lips. "Only one..."

He bursts out laughing. "There's seriously a midget in the hero course! What's his quirk?!"

She slumps her shoulders, grumbling out the answer quietly. "Sticky balls..."

"What I couldn't hear you?~"

"It doesn't matter! I'm leaving!" She rushes off to the edge, flying off and hearing Hawks' loud cackles all the way to the market.

~~~
Hibiki decided to dress warm as the weather outside was beginning to get colder and colder. She wasn't exactly sure how she should dress, so she went with a casual fancy look.
A ring echoes throughout the penthouse, and she heads over to the nearest speaker, pressing the button. "Hello?"
"Ah, uh, I'm here for our date!"
She presses the button to open the downstairs door then another to be able to come up to her. "Come on up. The penthouse is me."
He doesn't answer back, but she can hear the elevator moving up to her suite. She goes and opens the door right as he's about to knock.
He seems a bit shocked, frozen for a second before he sheepishly puts his arm down. "Hi... You... look beautiful... I feel a little under dressed now..."
He's wearing his Fatgum hoodie, but with him being small, it looks like he's just a fanboy. He has a bandage on his left cheek still as well as his right arm in a sling.
She smiles. "Thank you. You look good as well. No need to feel under dressed. You're also injured still, you should be in what is comfortable to you." She steps back. "Come on in. I'm almost finished making food for our picnic."
"You didn't have to do tha'!" he says, bending slightly to get through the door and shuffling his shoes off at the shoe rack. "I jus' meant tha' we could pick up some food then find a place to sit and eat."
She smiles, closing the door behind them. "No, it's fine. I felt like it. It is our first date after all, so it should be a bit more special. Plus, I made you a lot of food. I heard from Kirishima that you love takoyaki, so I packed a whole gallon size container full of them just for you."
His eyes shine as he follows her into the penthouse. His nose is immediately invaded with the most delightful smell he's ever smelled. Food. Her food. "Tha' smells sooo gooood.~"
"I'm glad you think so," she responds with a chuckle, seeing his dazed and in heaven expression. "If you carry the picnic basket, I'll get the blanket."
"Sounds good!"
They continue to the kitchen. Taishiro gapes once they arrive. One for the 10 clones rushing around the kitchen cooking, two this penthouse is big and gorgeous, and three for the giant picnic basket in the middle of the kitchen's island. It takes up the whole island it seems.
"I'm going to go find the big picnic blanket from my closet. You make yourself at home."
"Yeah, okay," he nods, sitting down on a bar stool. He watches all the clones buzzing about, moving around and packing the huge picnic basket. "You really are quite incredible, Noizu."
"Ah! Thank you! And hey, if we're dating, you can't call us Noizu!" Excited Hibiki chuckles as she packs some food away. "Call us Hibiki!"
"Oh, ah..." His face flushes. "Then call me Taishiro."
"Is Tai okay?"
"Y-Yeah! ...Wait dating?!"
"Oh, sorry! I meant going on a date," Excited replies. "I guess the whole dating thing will be decided with how this date goes!"
He flushes, covering his face with his hands as Excited giggles, along with the rest of the clones, at his cute reaction.
"So, Tai, huh," Hibiki questions amused, walking into the room with a few blankets. "That's cute."
"Y-You heard that?"
"Well, all my clones are connected, so I know everything they know," Hibiki answers him.
"That's really cool then!" he compliments with his wide grin. "No wonder you're a top pro!"
The clones begin to disappear as the picnic basket is finished getting loaded.
"Ha... thanks," she awkwardly replies. "So, you ready to go?"
"Ready as ever!" he chirps happily, standing up so quickly he almost knocks over the bar stool he was sitting on.
~~~

"Ya must've packed a lot!" Tai huffs, carrying the basket. "This thing is supa' heavy!"

"Well, I know how much you can put away," she replies, patting his stomach and making him blush. "Plus all you've eaten for the past few days is hospital food. Which is good, but not enough."

He sighs dreamily, mouth watering. "You're a literal goddess."

She flushes at the compliment. "Th-Thanks. Now, let's find a nice place with a good view to spread out."

They continue deeper into the park until they find the perfect spot to set up.

Taishiro waits a bit impatiently, since he's ready to eat the delicious food in the basket he's carrying, as she spreads out the blanket. He's too excited to eat the food she made. All he can smell is the wonderful scents that are radiating out from the basket.

She finishes with the blanket, sitting off to the side and looking up to Taishiro to place the basket in the middle. He happily complies, setting it down and eagerly joining her on the other side of the basket.

"I can't wait any longer! I'm ready to eat your food!"

Hibiki chuckles, pulling out all the food and setting it up. "Dig in!"

His eyes sparkle as he begins to shovel in food. "You're amazing!" He pauses before his face melts into total bliss. "This is so good. I'm in heaven!"

She flushes. "Well, I-I'm glad you like it so much!" She snags a few things and quietly nibbles on them.

It's silent between the two as they eat.

"Well, tell me about yourself," Taishiro says, munching his takoyaki. "Who is Hibiki? The pro hero Echo is a very private person. Not much is known about you. Some speculate that you're just a robot suit."

She laughs. "I heard about that one. I haven't confirmed or denied that rumor yet. It's... entertaining to watch what they come up with about it. Um... well... my favorite color is blue. I'm 29. My quirk makes my hair silver. We really don't know why. All of my family's hair is black. Oh, I have an older brother who's married and has two sons with her. One is named Hideki which is similar to my name which is how he got it. He's 14. Then the other son is named Ren who's 5 and looks just like me. I also have a younger brother who's 20. I'm the smallest in my family next to my mom. My dad is 6'9", and he's who I get my eye color from."

"You've got a good sized family. What're their names?"

"Oh, my nii-san name is Takeshi, my otouto is Akio, my mom's name is Michiko, and dad's is Masahiko. What about you?"

"I'm an only child," he admits. "And my favorite color is orange!"

~~~
They continue the date, learning more and more about each other until the sky was starting to get dark.
"Looks like we should wrap things up," Hibiki says, looking at the sunset in the distance. "It's getting dark."
Taishiro looks around. "I didn't even notice." He looks back to her. "I... got a little distracted." He smiles. "I had a really good time."
She turns to him, smiling. "I did too. I'd love to do this again." She checks the time to read 6. "It's still a bit early if you'd like to go and do something else like a movie or something?"
"Yes!" he cheers.
"Let's drop off this picnic stuff then we can go."
~~~

"You're late."

Hibiki has just walked into the teacher dorms after arriving back to UA grounds from her date. It's around 10:30. She looks up at the speaker to see Aizawa, sitting on one the couches on the main floor with papers in front of him and grading them.

"Sorry, I should've mentioned that to someone," Hibiki sweatdrops. "I went on that date with Tai—uh, Fatgum."

The pen in his hand snaps in half. "Oh." He looks to her, dropping the remains of his pen on the table. "Have fun?"

She ignores the pen situation and perks up. "Oh! Yeah! We learned a lot about each other and then went to see two different movies. They were pretty good. He's pretty cool."

"Glad... you enjoyed yourself."

She looks at him at his odd behavior before she gets a text, so she looks down to the lit up screen. Aizawa looks away from her down at the papers in front of them but not paying attention as he's too lost in his thoughts. He focuses on his breathing.

Taishiro:
So... does this mean we're dating now?

She chuckles, swiping the phone open.

Hibi:
What do you think?

Taishiro:
Yes?

Hibi:
I don't know. You haven't asked yet

He doesn't respond for a few seconds.

Taishiro:
I'd rather ask that in person...

Hibi:
Then we'll get our answer then

Taishiro:
😉

"Well, I'm gonna head to bed. I got up pretty early to train some new interns, so I'm pretty tired. Get to bed soon, okay? We don't want you falling asleep right here. Nemuri and Hizashi would probably draw on your face with permanent marker if you do. Remember that you need rest too, okay?" She says as she gets onto the elevator, too tired to walk up the stairs.

"Okay," he quietly responds.

"Goodnight, Aizawa."

"Goodnight, Noizu-san."

She pauses about to question why he added 'san' but the elevator doors close. "Ai–"

Aizawa sighs, slumping onto his palm. "Fuck."
