10.) Final Exams

Monday was for rest after the internships and school returned on Tuesday. That meant Hibiki wouldn't see class 1A until Thursday.

It's currently Tuesday, and she really wants to see 1A's progress. She wants to watch 1A's progress from the internships, but she has to teach 1B at the time they're in hero lessons. She also really wants to see how 1B improved. So, she decides to clone herself. One to teach class and her real self to go see 1A. She sends out a mixture of Happy, Skillful, Strict, and Tactical to teach.

She sneaks off to the area they're going to train, watching as the first group heads off to start. She stands close behind the students that are watching the big screen in front where they can see their classmates about to race. Midoriya, Ashido, Sero, Iida, and Mashi.

"Iida hasn't completely recovered yet, right?" Kaminari says. "He should sit this out."

"Yeah... and everyone in this group has really good mobility," Kirishima says.

"Huh... I'd say Midoriya's at a heavy disadvantage against those four," Momo inquires.

"That's what I think," Jiro agrees. "Moving around quickly isn't really one of his strong suits that's for sure."

"And whenever he uses his powers he always gets badly injured," Momo continues.

"Who's your pick? I'm betting on Sero," Kirishima says, looking at Kaminari.

"Ah yeah? Hmmm... I got odds on Ojiro," he returns.

"I choose Ashido cause she's got a super athletic body," Mineta adds.

"I know Deku will be last," Bakugo joins in.

"Even if he's still recovering... I think Iida's got this one," Uraraka says.

"You really think so?" Echo speaks up.

Everyone screams and flinches or jumps away. "Echo sensei?!"

Echo laughs.

"A-Aren't you suppose to be teaching another class?" Kaminari asks.

"Yeah, I left a clone to teach them," Echo says.

"Who do you thinks going to win?" Kirishima asks.

Echo thinks. "Midoriya."

"Deku?!" Bakugo screams. "There's no fucking way that nerd will win." Echo smacks the back of his head. "Ow, what the fuck was that for?!"

She smacks him again but harder. "Watch the language. I don't wanna hear it again. Now, looks like they're about to begin. Maybe you'll be surprised by the outcome."

The buzzer goes off, and Sero quickly manages to get into first which makes Kirishima really happy.

A few seconds pass, and Midoriya speeds past into first.

"Whoa! Midoriya?!" everyone shouts.

"Since when can he do that?!" Kaminari shouts.

Everyone quickly realizes that he looks a lot like how Bakugo moves which doesn't go unnoticed by the explosive blond. Said boy begins to grind his teeth.

Midoriya continues to quickly approach All Might only to misstep and falls, causing Sero to win first.

"Ah, yeah!" Kirishima cheers.

The first group returns and the second heads out.

"Echo sensei!" the five shout.

"When did you get here?" Midoriya asks with shining eyes.

"I watched your race. You've all improved well. I'm proud of you."

"Thank you sensei," they all respond.

"Midoriya, come here."

He bows his head as if he's gonna get scolded for messing up. "Y-Yes? E-Echo sensei?"

"Calm down, you're not in trouble. You've only just recently been using your power throughout your whole body. I want you to begin using your quirk all the time. What I mean by that is to use this when doing everything. Running, walking, showering, training, eating, studying, etc etc. Your quirk needs to be a part of you. You need to get use to always using it, so you can get faster and better with it. If your goal is to be even greater than All Might, you gotta be at 100 percent. Got it?"

"Hai sensei!"

"Plus..."

"Ultra!"

Echo smiles. "Watch the rest of the groups while powered up."

He nods, charging up, and heads over to his friend group.

She heads up behind Ojiro and clasps her hands on his shoulders.

"Eep! Hibi senpai!" he squeaks.

"Mashichan, you did good."

Mina tilts her head, much like the others. "Hibi senpai? Mashichan?"

"Ah, it... it slipped out, sorry sensei," Mashi says.

She giggles. "Mashichan, I've known you all your life. I'm not gonna get mad at you for calling me what you always have even around others."

"You've really known Ojiro all his life?!" Midoriya says. "That's so cool, Ojiro! You've been close to a top pro hero!"

Ojiro sheepishly rubs the back of his neck. "I didn't know she was Echo until we fought her the first day."

"Seriously?!"

"I didn't tell anyone but my family," Echo says, letting her helmet down. Her hair falls down around her. "I don't want anyone to know who I am."

"That means you must trust us!" Mina says.

"Well, you are to be future heroes, so I don't mind you all knowing what I look like. Anyway, Mashichan, you need to work on getting your tail more resistant to heat or get a flexible protecting suit coating on your tail. You obviously felt the metal was hot."

"Thanks, sensei."

...

It's Wednesday, and currently gym for class 1A. Aizawa is in charge of gym class, but, like usual, he's bundled up in a sleeping bag in the corner of the gym. But, it's not his normal yellow sleeping bag, which is what the students of 1A are all curious about. Why is it not his normal yellow one? Why is it blue? Is the yellow one being washed and this is back up? All different types of questions like that are racing through their heads as they go through gym class.

The doors to the gym are suddenly thrown open and in comes Echo with... a yellow sleeping bag.

"Aizawa!" she huffs, stomping her foot like a child once she's standing in front of his sleeping form. "You took the wrong sleeping bag this morning! That's mine!"

He tiredly looks up at her then his gaze looks to the yellow sleeping bag she's holding then looks to the one he's currently in. "Looks like it."

"Seriously, give me mine."

"No, I'm comfy and toasty and your sleeping bag smells good."

"Well, if you washed yours more it'd probably smell better to you," she responds.

"I washed mine last night," he yawns. "Yours just smells like you."

Mina squeals in the background.

She blushes. "W-Well, yeah, it is mine after all. A-Anyway, I was up really late last night, as you know, on patrol and on Wednesdays I have a good few hours between classes. I'd like to sleep."

"Just use mine. I don't feel like moving."

"All my stuff is in there."

"I can't even tell."

"I'm gonna kick you."

"I'd rather you not."

"You're tempting me," she retorts.

At this point, everyone in the gym is staring, watching the two bicker.

"They seem close," Tsu says.

"Didn't you hear?" Mina questions. "She took care of him after the USJ incident."

"Where'd you hear that from?" Jiro asks.

"Present Mic when he was talking to Midnight," Mina answers.

"You shouldn't listen into teacher's private conversations," Momo says.

"Look who's talking," Bakugo scoffs. "All of you are currently doing just that. Dumbasses..."

"It's Present Mic, he isn't exactly quiet," Mina deadpans, ignoring the explosion boy.

"You have a point there," Kaminari agrees.

"I think they'd be cute together!" Hagakure squeals excitedly.

"What if they're already together?" Mina questions. "I mean both of his arms were broken. You know what that means, right?"

"She bathed him!" Mineta shouts. "Lucky bastard."

"Exactly!" Mina says. "Something must've happened. You can't just not!"

"Mina, you're starting to sound like Mineta," Tsu points out.

"W-We s-should probably get back to gym," Midoriya says all flustered.

"You're not thinking about anything perverted, are you Midoriya?" Tsu asks.

"N-No!"

"Oh, we all totally are," Sero replies.

"You guys are pigs!" Jiro huffs.

"G-Guys... she can hear you, ya know," Ojiro sighs.

"I don't think she's listening," Kaminari says, pointing at her.

"Jeez, how do you even manage to grab the wrong sleeping bag?"

"I'm tired, same as you," Aizawa responds, yawning and snuggling down further in the sleeping bag. "I'll give it back to you tonight. Goodnight."

She groans. "Aizawa. I need my stuff. Ugh." She thinks then grins. "...Don't make me say it."

He ignores her. "I'm asleep."

"I'm gonna say it." He remains quiet. "Seriously senpai..."

His eyes jerk open, and he sits up quickly. "Stop."

"Senpai, senpai, senpai, senpai, senpai, sen–"

"OKAY, fine!" He quickly unzips himself from the sleeping bag and gives it to her. He snatches his and quickly gets in it as if he doesn't want anyone to see him.

"Thank you, senpai." She cackles and rushes out the room with louder cartoonish villainous cackles.

He moves to follow, but decides not to and falls to the floor asleep.

Everyone sweatdrops at the scene.

"I wonder if we could get away with things like that if we called him that or dad or something?" Kaminari thinks.

"I think he'd probably kill you," Sero comments.

"Likely, but I'm willing to try it."

...

A few days pass, and the students begin studying for finals. Hibiki doesn't have a final for her class. All she really does is judge how they've improved.

Saturday after school, Aizawa pulls Hibiki aside.

"I'm sure you've heard about the fact that we might have a traitor in the school."

"I have, but I don't believe it's true. Why bring this up?"

He sighs, heading into a nearby empty room. She curiously follows, closing the door behind them.

"Is the room bugged?"

She tilts her head this way and that listening for anything. She releases some quiet sonic screams to use her echolocation too. "I don't hear anything."

"Good. We've decided on where we're taking the first year hero course students and to only keep it between me, Vlad, and Nezu. I wanted to ask you to come with us."

She blinks. "Really? I'd love—I, ah, welll... Well... I would love to... but I can't."

"Why not?"

"I... uh... I'm taking care of my nephews all summer."

He stares at her. "Why can't their parents take care of them?"

"Ah, Takeshi and his wife are going to China for some business with the Chinese branch of the dojo. Ma and pa are going on vacation in Okinawa. Akio is also going to Okinawa with some college friends. Soo... that leaves me with the boys. Sorry, senpai."

He flinches. "Don't... call me senpai... it's... weird."

She laughs. "I only do it to see that look on your face. It's very entertaining."

He sighs, rubbing his temples. "Starting to regret asking you... Just bring them with us. They can train their quirks too."

She blinks. "Wait, seriously? Is that okay? Hideki is 14, and I know he'll be coming here next year. But, his little brother, Ren, is only 5."

"That's old enough. There's going to be another 5 year old there named Kota. He should be fine."

"If you say so, then sure! Sounds like fun. I'm sure the boys will enjoy that."

"We're going to the forest of land owned by the hero group the Wild Wild Pussycats to help train them and watch."

"Never heard of them, but you would ask someone that has some cat relation to help us," she jokes, nudging him. "Is Mic gonna watch your cats?"

"Sadly."

"I know you'll miss them. Rip, here lies Aizawa because he missed his kitties too much."

"That'll be the cause of my death one day. Not hero work, that."

I laugh. "I'm sure."

"Or it might be you that kills me."

"Rude, but yeah, that's possible."

"Honestly, Hizashi or Nemuri would kill me before you ever would," Aizawa sighs, face palming and molding that into a face rub.

She laughs again. "That's also a possibility."

"I'll send you more details later. We'll be taking buses from the school to there. One class for each bus. You can chose either bus. It doesn't really matter."

"Obviously I'm going with you," Hibiki says. "Can't get rid of me that easily."

"Oh darn."

"I'm glad you trust me enough to invite me. I see you at the meeting about the 1A finals." She boops him on the tip of his nose and walks off with a smile.

...

Written exams are over, and the physical exam is about to begin. Nezu was originally going to battle Kaminari and Ashido, but he had to go do some paperwork. After he explains to the students, he heads back to his office. To take his place is Echo.

"We have to go against you?!" Kaminari and Ashido shout in grief. "There's no way!"

"We can't even beat you as a class!" Kaminari huffs with tears. "And you don't even use your powers!"

"I can't imagine you actually using them!" Mina cries. "We're doomed to fail!"

"If you think and use everything I've taught you, you'll be able to beat me," Echo says, turning and heading inside. "And if you don't, you fail."

They both cry out.

"Don't torture them too bad," Aizawa comments.

"I could say the same to you, but I forget you're a big ol softy sometimes," Echo responds.

"I'm going to hang you by your ankles with my scarf," he threatens.

"That sounds pretty kinky there, Shota," Midnight chuckles.

Present Mic laughs as Aizawa scrunches down into his scarf.

~~~
The timer sets off for Echo's exam.
She clones out 100 of her and manages to surround the two students, leaving one route of escape, but it won't be easy to find it.
"Ah, she's here too!" Mina screams.
"And here!" Kaminari shouts.
"My test is easy," all 100 Echo's speak. "Find the one path I haven't blocked and run away or catch me by telling me which one is the real Echo. You each get 3 chances. If you guess correctly, I will surrender myself and let you catch me. If you both run out of guesses, only then will I attack or if you try to go through me. Remember what I taught you."
"That's not easy at all!" Kaminari whines.
"I say we find the path she hasn't blocked and run away," Mina says.
"Agreed!"
The buzzer eventually sounds. "Team Kaminari and Ashido have failed due to running out of time."
"Damn it!" Kaminari shouts.
"Maan... that sucks!" Mina whines, slumping to the ground.
Echo returns to just herself and walks up to the two. "You didn't listen to what I said. I never said you couldn't eliminate clones to narrow down your search. You didn't use your eyes either. If you look closely enough, you can usually tell which ones are really me. I figured you would've been able to tell better with how you've gotten to know me."
"Aww man!"
"And Kaminari, watch your mouth."
