Chapter Eight: Into the Woods! Aiger's Tale!
y/n's pov:
"Aiger? Aiger, where are you?!" I called as I walked through the woods. This morning, Aiger had asked me to come to the woods by his house at noon so here I am. Except there's one problem. I'm lost.
I sat down on a tree stump and sighed. I heard a branch break behind me and I leaped up into a fighting stance.
A little rabbit hopped up onto the stump I was sitting on. "Oh, it's just a bunny," I sighed in relief. What is a bunny doing so close to a human?
I bent down and it let me pet it. Suddenly, it hopped off further into the woods. "Hey, where are you going?"
I chased it through the trees and over logs until it finally stopped in front of a clearing. In the middle was a picnic nicely set up with sandwiches, cookies and other items.
"BOO!" Someone yelled. I screamed in surprise and fell backwards. I saw Aiger sitting in the tree in front of me. "Well you sure are easy to scare," he said, jumping out of the tree and helping me up.
"No I'm not, you just caught me by surprise," I replied, smoothing out my clothes.
"That's the definition of scaring someone," Aiger said with a grin. I grinned right back.
"Did you set all this up?" I asked. Aiger blushed and nodded. "Aww, that's so sweet!"
We walked over and sat down on the red, plaid picnic blanket. Aiger handed me a sandwich and I bit into it.
"Wow, this is really good!" I exclaimed. I took a few more large mouthfuls.
"Naru made them," Aiger replied before taking one for himself and eating it.
"Well she should consider getting a job as a chef or go onto a kid's cooking show or something," I replied, taking another bite.
Eventually we finished the sandwiches and I popped a raspberry into my mouth.
"This is really nice, thanks a lot, Aiger," I said smiling. I reached over and pulled him into a hug.
He buried his face into my shoulder. The bunny I saw from before hopped up and snuggled into my lap.
"Is this your bunny?" I asked. I gently picked it up and kissed it's forehead.
"It's one of the bunnies from school. His name is Sir Fluffsalot," Aiger laughed.
"Well, Sir Fluffsalot, I like you very much," I said. I took a raspberry and fed it to him.
"Aww, it's so cute!" I exclaimed as it nibbled on the red fruit.
"Yeah, yeah. It's adorable," Aiger snorted sarcastically.
"Hello, lovebirds," a voice said from behind me. I turned around and saw Naru standing there with a smirk.
"NARU!" Aiger yelled. "What are you doing here?" Naru plopped down in between us.
"When you asked me for sandwiches I knew something was up," Naru replied.
I looked down at my watch. "Oh, shi- I mean... poo?! I gotta get going. I need to meet someone in a little while and have to go get ready."
I stood up and smiled. "Do you need any help cleaning up?" Aiger shook his head. I placed Sir Fluffsalot where I was sitting. "Thanks so much. This was super fun! Let's do it again sometime!"
I started jogging out the direction I came. Behind me I heard Naru say something like "I can't believe you were jealous of a bunny."
