Hero course training with All Might starts any minute and to say the class is excited is an understatement.

He enters the room with an extra flare that was... well, extra. "I aaammm... here, coming through the door like a hero!"

Everyone cheers in awe and excitement.

"Sho! Look it's All Might!" Maki cheers, shaking him back and forth excitedly.

"I k-k-know. IIII can seeeee himmm."

"Welcome to the most important class at UA high!" All Might says. "Think of it as heroing 101! Here you will learn the basics of being a pro and what it means to fight in the name of good!" He strikes a pose. "Let's get into it! Today's lesson will pull no punches!"

"Fight training!" Bakugo cheers.

"Real combat?!" Deku squeaks.

"But one of the keys of a hero isss..." he points to the wall that begins to move out to reveal cases. "...looking good! These were designed for you based on your quirk registration forms and requests you sent in before school started. After you change, come out to ground beta!"

"Yes sir!" everyone cheers.

Everyone grabs their case based on their seat number and heads off to the changing rooms.

Maki is the first of the girls to finish as her 'suit' is easy and quick to get on.

"Wow, Maki!" Uraraka says. "You look so cool!"

"OH my GOD! You have mega abs for daaaayss!" Mina exclaims, moving in close to her stomach. "That's amazing! Wish I had abs."

"You just gotta work out a lot! I'm sure all of you will get abs by the end of the year! Hero training is hard work," Maki smiles.

"Can I touch them?!" Mina squeals.

"Sure!"

She runs her hand along them. "Wow! They really are like steel!"

"Ribbit, why don't you have on any shoes?"

"Ah, I don't like to wear shoes when training. They block off my connection to the ground. Meaning, I can feel vibrations and 'see' things better."

"You must train out in the sun a lot too," Tsu continues. "Your skin is very dark."

"Oh yeah! I'm constantly out in the sun! Outside is the best place to train with my quirk. That way I don't destroy our dojo..."

"Your dojo?" Uraraka questions. "Are you rich?"

Maki shrugs. "I guess you could call it that."

Mina moves to touch her arm muscles. "Geez, you're built all the way through!"

Maki laughs. "Thanks!"

"Ashido, you should finish getting yourself dressed instead of feeling up Iwase," Jiro says.

Mina blows a raspberry. "Fiiine!"

"I'll meet you guys out there!"

"Okay!"

Maki skips out the room, eventually finding Shoto. "Sho!" She clings to his right arm, as she observes his outfit. "Sho, I know you hate your dad, but this is a little ridiculous. Can you even sit in that?"

"It doesn't matter if I can sit or not."

"Of course you have to sit sometimes!"

The other students manage to get dressed and catch up to them.

"They seem really close," lightning bolt says, observing them. "It's weird seeing them like that when he's so indifferent to everyone."

"Yeah, I wonder why?" red hair says.

"She introduced him as her friend since birth," Momo answers. "I would assume they would be close."

They all make it to the exit into the giant fake city area where All Might is standing, waiting for them.

"They say the clothes make the pros, young ladies and gentlemen!" All Might grins. "Behold, you are the proof!"

"Yeah!" Maki whoops with her hands in the air happily.

All Might explains the rules then they all get paired into teams.

Team A: Deku and Uraraka.
Team B: Shoji and Todoroki.
Team C: Mineta and Yaoyorozu.
Team D: Iida and Bakugo.
Team E: Aoyama and Ashido.
Team F: Sato and Koda.
Team G: Jiro and Kaminari.
Team H: Tokoyami and Iwase.
Team I: Ojiro and Asui.
Team J: Sero and Kirishima.

Tokoyami walks up to Maki. "I'm Tokoyami Fumikage. Pleasure."

"Hi!"

"So bright..."

Maki blinks, tilting her head. "Well, I'm Iwase Maki! Is your quirk related to raven's?"

"No, I have a shadow–"

"Hi! I'm Dark Shadow!" He pops out of Tokoyami's chest with a grin, knowing the boy hated being cut off.

"Ah! Hi, Dark Shadow! Toko, is this your quirk! He's so cute!" she smiles, petting Dark Shadow's head. DS blushes and seems to melt with her soft pets much to Tokoyami's shock. "What a cool quirk! You can never be lonely. That's pretty cool. You'll always have someone there for you."

"Uh, yeah."

They're revealed to be the hero team, and they're going up against Team J as the villains.

"Yay, we get to be the heroes. I can't wait!"

After watching the first match, they had to move to a different location as the building was too wrecked to stay in safely.

Todoroki's team was next as the heroes.

"Go Sho!"

Everyone watches from the monitor room as Todoroki completely freezes the whole building, making everyone shiver. He freezes tail boy's feet along with Tsu's to the ground.

"He has capacitated them without compromising the weapon or his teammate," All Might chatters out. "Take close note of his techniques students."

"Whoa, he's so strong!" red hair voices.

He touches the bomb and wins the match before heating up the building to melt everything.

"Uoh, holy crap!" big lips shouts.

"That guy's kind of intimidating," lightning boy says.

"He got in on a recommendation, so he must be good," Mina says.

"That's my Sho! You showed them!" Maki cheers, eyes shining. She's completely entranced watching him.

"Speaking of recommendations... wasn't Iwase also a recommended student?" lightning boy asks.

"Yeah, and she came in first on the quirk test, and I didn't even see her use a quirk," weird elbows says.

"Whatever it is, it's super strong," Mina says.

"Well, she's super manly! Have you seen how jacked she is?! I bet she'd kill me in an arm wrestling match!" red hair exclaims. "I can't wait to go against her!"

"Doesn't look like you have to wait much longer," Jiro points out. "You're up next."

"Hell yeah!" he cheers. "Alright, Sero, let's go!"

"Yeah!"

The teams battling just before enters the room after Todoroki unfreezes the building.

"Sho! You were so cool!"

"Thanks, Maki."

"Dude, I think that's the first time I've heard him talk," lightning boy whispers to Sero.

They review their battle before the next team goes.

"Wish me luck, Sho!"

"You don't need luck. I know you'll already win."

"Mm!" She giggles as if she's on cloud nine and skips off with her partner following behind her.

Shoto grabs Tokoyami's arm as he passes him. "Don't get in her way. Trust me."

Tokoyami nods his head, a bit frightened by the sudden grab and the ominous warning.

The 'villains,' Kirishima and Sero, head into the building for their 5 minute head start as the heroes wait outside.

Maki happily and patiently rocks back and forth while she waits till they get the call to begin. Then like a switch, after the buzzer sounds for them to begin, Maki is a completely different person. She walks into the building, closing her eyes once deep enough and sensing for vibrations to find the two boys. Tokoyami steers clear like Shoto told him. He doesn't want to find out what happens if he doesn't listen.

"Tokoyami."

He flinches at his name coming from her mouth. "Y-Yes?"

"They're up on the fifth floor on the left side of the building and the fourth room down. There's a window. Are you able to get up there from the outside?"

Maki's cheerfulness is completely gone.

"I should be able to do that."

"Good. I'll take care of the villains. Get to the rocket once I distract them."

He watches her walk into the building and a shiver goes up his spine. "I deem their demise is upon them. One can hope they'll survive her." He bows his head then quickly rushes off to the window he was told to go to. "I sense a devil within her."

A dark aura surrounds Maki as she moves through the building with a large grin. Kirishima has moved out of the room and is now in search of her. She's on the floor exactly underneath him. She smirks, stomping on the ground and lifting her arms up.

"What the–" Kirishima startles. The hallway in both directions are suddenly blocked with a full wall. "I'm locked in!" He hardens his right fist. "But not for long!" He punches one of the newly made walls, breaking straight through it.

"Oh?" Maki grins. "Guess I'm going to have to make the wall thicker." She once again stomps and a much thicker wall traps Kirishima on both sides. She adds a few more walls behind those just in case.

"What?! It's like Cementoss sensei is here!" He punches his fists together. "This must be Iwase's quirk! How cool! Not gonna stop me though!" He punches again, but this time it only makes a small dent. "Ah! Come on!!!"

"That should keep him occupied for a while."

"Kirishima! You alright?!" Sero asks through their earpieces.

"Watch out! Iwase is likely headed your way! She's trapped me with walls. I can't smash through them! Her quirk is like Cementoss sensei's!"

"Oh crap!"

Maki walks further before she creates a hole in the floor above her and repeating the process until it's open at the fifth floor. She jumps, pushing air out underneath her to propel her up. Once she lands on the fifth floor, she's closes all the floors back up.

"Oh elllboowwws!" she tauntingly shouts out as she moves to the room he's in.

"Ah! She's here!" Sero squeaks into his earpiece.

Kirishima decides to smash through the wall that wasn't created in front of him. "I'm on my way!" He punches the next wall and makes his way into the room and continues through until he's clear.

Maki creates a strong force of air directly into the room, throwing Sero back into the tape he spread all around the room. She walks into the room, seeing him all tangled up.

"Tokoyami!"

He appears from the window, letting Dark Shadow weave through the tape to touch the rocket. Sero catches sight of Maki and swallows harshly.

"D-Demon..." Sero whimpers, frozen in fear.

"THE HERO TEAAM... WINSSSSS!" All Might shouts from the speakers.

Then like a switch, Maki is back to normal all smiles. "That was fun! High five!" She gives high fives with Tokoyami who was too scared to reject her. "We won!"

"Indeed."

Kirishima slides into the room. "Good job you guys. We didn't stand a chance."

Maki giggles in reply. "I liked your tape trap! That was a good idea!"

"Heh," Kirishima rubs the back of his neck in embarrassment. "It seems you used it against us though."

"Ah, right!" Maki sends out some air that easily slices through the tape trapping Sero. "Sorry!"

He doesn't make eye contact as he gets himself upright. "Th-Thanks..."

Kirishima goes over to help him take off the tape stuck to him. "Dude, you okay?"

Maki smiles and skips off while humming. The three boys follow behind.

"That girl... is terrifying," Sero tells him as they walk and get tape off.

"Iwase? Really? She's like the nicest person I've ever met!"

"Dude, you didn't see her," Sero shakes. "I swear I saw my life flash before my eyes."

"Seriously? That's a bit of an overreaction," Kirishima deadpans. "You had to of imagined it."

"No," Tokoyami speaks up. "That girl... she radiates an aura that screams threat. I'm glad that she's not a villain. The world would be in some major trouble."

"You guys are crazy," Kirishima sighs, rushing up beside Maki. "Iwase!"

She stops for him to catch up then they walk together. "Yeah?"

"Is your quirk like Cementoss sensei?"

"Ah, yeah, it's similar, but I can manipulate earth. So, dirt, mud, concrete, minerals, metals, the like. My other quirk, I'm able to manipulate air."

"Whoa! You have two quirks! That's so awesome. No wonder you're so close with Todoroki! You both have two quirks!"

"Haha! Yep!"

"I felt like she was staring into my soul as if she could just crush me with that stare alone," Sero murmurs to Tokoyami.

"How can a person be so bright like the sun but also as dark as a tainted heart?"

The four arrive back at the monitor room.

"Did you see me, Sho? Wasn't I awesome?!" She skips up to him.

"As usual." He pats her head.

She giggles and stands with the other three at the front as All Might goes over with the class on what happened.

"Wow, Iwase! That was incredible!" Mina squeals once the discussion is over.

Todoroki watches Sero remain quiet as Kaminari questions his mood. He knows exactly what Maki is truly like. Sero saw it first hand. Sero catches his gaze and quickly turns away. Todoroki does the same and looks to the bird headed boy now. He only saw a glimpse. It's a good thing I warned him.

Most of the class fawns over Maki's awesome quirk before the next group had to go out.

"Two quirks! No wonder the two of you are friends," Uraraka says.

Todoroki looks to his future wife. It's probably for the best no one knows that side of her for as long as possible. Don't wanna scare them off. I'm not here to make friends, but she'd be sad if everyone didn't wanna be her friend cause they're scared of her.

She bounces over to him. "We both passed!"

He nods, glancing down at her as she wraps her arms around his right one. Yes, it's best to just keep it a secret just like our engagement.

She leans her head against his shoulder, and they watch the rest of the matches together.
