"Shoto and Inasa are supposed to be there," Setchi, the eldest twin brother, says.

"Mom recommended Inasa like dad recommended you," Hayate says.

Setchi and Hayate are the elder brothers of Maki. Setchi is older by 33 minutes. The twins are currently in their second year at U.A.

The two are currently taking their little sister to the recommendation exam. The three's parents are currently out on a mission. They're dropped off in front of UA by their chauffeur.

"Inasa!" Maki squeals as they climb out the car. "That'd be so fun if we were in class together! I haven't seen him for a year!"

"Maaaaaaakiiiiiichaaaann!" a loud voice shouts, tackling her in a hug.

She giggles, squeezing him back and burying herself into the larger male. "Inachan!"

"I've missed you!"

"I've missed you too!" she returns with a big grin.

"Wow, you've grown a lot," Setchi says.

"Yeah, you're taller than us now! That's unfair," Hayate pouts.

Inasa laughs, releasing Maki and giving the twins a quick lifted hug. "I missed you two as well."

"We know who the favorite is," the two speak at the same time as he sets them back on the ground.

Maki grabs Inasa's hand and drags him through the gates of the school. "We should hurry. We have an interview to go through first. We'll see you two later!"

All the recommended kids were separated for the interview then their written exam was right after. They were all gathered together on a field to do the practical exam. Each examinee was given a number. Maki got 01. She was the first one to be recommended this year after all.

Maki exits the school onto the field and immediately spots Shoto. "Shooochaan!" She appears beside him in the blink of an eye, attaching herself to him like a koala. "Hi!"

He seems to be annoyed, but he doesn't say or do anything to move the girl off him. "Hello, Maki."

The other test takers look on in confusion, thinking the girl is a bit strange.

Her arms snake around his neck, interlocking her fingers together. "How do you think you did on the written exam? I'm sure you easily passed it. You're so smart after all. I thought it was kinda hard," she talks, wrapping her legs around his waist and crossing her ankles behind his back to stay held on. She leans back looking up at his face. She pouts. "I wouldn't be surprised if I'm not accepted. It'd probably be because of the test portion."

"I'm sure you did fine."

She smiles, pulling herself closer to his face and kissing his cheek. "I'm so lucky! You're so cute even when you're all pouty."

A slight bit of pink comes to his cheeks, but it's only noticeable if you're as close as Maki is. She giggles as she unattaches herself from him.

"Maakichaan!" Inasa says, sliding up beside her. "That test was kind of hard, do you think you passed it?"

"Just barely I'm sure," she sighs. "What about you?"

"I have no idea!" He looks to Shoto and his face goes dark. "Why're you talking to Endeavor's son?"

"This is Sho–," she begins but is interrupted.

"Hello recommended children! I'm Present Mic, and I'm going to be overseeing this portion of the testing! We'll be doing a series of tests! Very similar to the tests you take in gym class except you'll be using your quirks for them! Grip strength, baseball throw, side to side lunges, and all that stuff!"

The first test is a 100-meter dash. Maki is placed in the first group to go, 1-22. She easily gets first with her air quirk which she can use to manipulate the air around her to not make any wind resistance. She manages to make a new record. The result, 0.5 seconds. Present Mic makes a big deal over it, screaming in amazement.

Shoto and Inasa were in the second group, 23-44. Inasa wins and Shoto gets second. The two seem to have a conversation that leaves Inasa in a sour mood for the rest of the test.

Maki easily surpasses the rest of the tests. She meets up with Shoto after wrapping her arm around his own. "So, what are you doing after this?"

"Training."

"Again? That's so booring, Shochan," she huffs, leaning on his shoulder as they walk out the entrance. "Is your dad making you?"

"Who else?"

"Well, how about we go out to do something instead?"

Shoto eventually told Maki his backstory when they were nine. Ever since then, she's always dragging him away as much as she can because she knows Endeavor won't be mad if she's who he's spending his time with. Shoto really appreciates her for doing it. His dad will be annoyed of course, but he won't speak out about it and risk the Iwase's to get mad at him. He wants this marriage to go through.

"Maaki!" Inasa calls out, sliding up beside the couple.

"Ah, Inasa, I'll meet up with you and my brothers for dinner! Sho and I are heading out. It's important."

Inasa's lip snarls, looking Shoto up and down.

"Maki!"
"Inasa!"

Hayate and Setchi bound up to the group of three.

"Ah, Shoto," Hayate says. "Good to see you."

Shoto bows. "You two as well."

"Stop with that bowing crap," Setchi says, wrapping an arm around Shoto. "We're going to family one day after all."

"Shoto and I are going to hang out. I'll be back for dinner with the three of you."

"Alright, you two have fun!" Setchi says.

"But not too much fun! Not until you graduate at least," Hayate says with a wink.

Maki's face turns pink as Shoto just looks confused.

"We're leaving!" she squeaks and pulls Shoto down the road.

"What happens if we have too much fun?" Shoto innocently asks as they go.

The twins laugh as they watch her go down the road.

Inasa turns to the twins. "Why is she so close to him?"

"You don't know?" Setchi questions.

"Shoto and Maki are engaged. They're to be married once they graduate. It was arranged by our parents and his father."

"WHAAAAT?!"

"So, what do you want to do, Shochan?" she asks, tilting her head to look up at him.

"I don't care. Whatever you want to do," he plainly answers.

She pouts. "We always do what I want to do! I wanna do something that you like to do." She looks at the time on her phone. "It's lunchtime... Oh! I know! How about we go and get some cold soba! I know that's your favorite!"

He seems to perk up at the idea. "Okay."

She pulls out her phone to search for the nearest soba shop. "It looks like the closest one is a few streets over."

Maki just got her results from UA. She made it. She squeals with glee and immediately calls Shoto. It rings only once before he answers.

"Sho! Did you see your results?! I made it! I'm in class 1A!"

"I also made it. I'm in the same class as you."

"Yay! We'll get to see each other almost everyday! I'm so excited! We need to go out to celebrate!"

"Maki."

"Yes?"

"I wanted to ask you if you could keep us being engaged a secret from our class. I don't want any distractions by them making a big deal out of it."

She chuckles. "I understand! I figured you'd say something like that anyway! I was already planning not to really say anything about it. We're going there to be heroes first and foremost! Drama isn't a goal."

He gives a little sigh in relief, glad she didn't make a big deal out of it. He really shouldn't of gotten so worked up over it. Maki has always been laid back about these things. She rarely ever made a big deal over things that would likely make other people mad. "I'm glad you agree."

"I'm not gonna call you Todoroki though! I'm still gonna call you my Sho!"

He feels the light warmth brushing up on his cheeks. "I didn't think you would. I will still call you... my Maki."

"Awww! I love you! I'm so pumped! I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight!"

"You shouldn't stay up late. It's not good for you."

"Oh, Sho! I'll be fine! I'm excited for our first day together. I'm gonna go and get things prepared for that day. I should call Inachan too. I'll call you tomorrow, okay?"

"Okay."

She smiles and hangs up after saying goodbye. She pulls up Inasa's number and calls.

"Maki!"

"Ina! I got my results! I made it!"

"I did too!"

"What class?"

"1A."

"Me too."

"I've decided that I'm going to go to Shiketsu instead!"

"What?! Why?!"

"I don't want to go to the same school with a person like Todoroki Shoto. I can't accept such a cold person like him to become a good hero for anyone to look up to."

"Inasa, Sho is the way he is because his father is an evil man. Sho has a lot of baggage because of him. It's not Sho's fault. He needs time to open up more. He's going to be a great hero. I know it."

"I still hate him. I don't want you to marry him."

"It's a little too late for that. I love him though."

"How can you love a man like that?!"

"Ina, you haven't seen him like I have. You'd understand if you got to know him."

"I'm still going to Shiketsu."

"I'll miss you then."
