{With Changbin and Jisung}

No One's POV

Changbin decided to follow Jisung to look for his items. But Han probably didn't want to talk immediately so Changbin gave him some space. He saw the clerk and Jisung go to the lightbulb section and Changbin stayed behind. He'd wait for Jisung to be finished then talk.

Jisung was trying his best to tell the clerk that he needed two hundred lightbulbs, but the clerk said that he kept mishearing him. It was quite annoying to Han who was already very pissed.

"Two hundred lightbulbs? Umm okay, I'll have to get them from the back, but which lightbulb would you like me to supply you with?" The clerk asked politely. The poor thing's hands were sweating causing his gloves to stick to his skin. It was extremely uncomfortable.

Jisung quickly mumbled that he wanted the one with the most energy and the clerk wasted no time to prepare his purchase.

Changbin decided to talk to Han once he saw the clerk scurry away.

Han noticed Changbin coming, and he wanted to stop him and tell him to go away. But Han knew that Changbin never did anything and that Changbin didn't need to know his situation to give him excuses, unlike somebody else. So he really had no reason to be mad at Changbin. He calmed himself down, preparing for whatever Changbin wanted to talk about.

"Hey Hannie, sorry about Minho. He shouldn't have said that to you" Changbin said comfortingly.

That's a lie. Changbin thought. Minho had every right to question Han, and he was punished for being the only one to have the courage to question him.

Changbin himself was in absolute doubt of everything Han did. He was just too much of a coward to say anything. Why ruin a friendship over something so trivial? Also Han would tell him what's up eventually, right? Changbin wasn't always a patient person and being the coward for once was something new for him.

He felt guilty criticizing Minho's actions, but he knew he couldn't just leave it at that.

"He's just worried about you. Minho has a weird way of caring for people and he's terrible being nice. But I promise you whatever he said he didn't mean."

Just like you, right? You didn't mean what you said and did back there? Changbin optimistically wondered. He'd gave Han his trust and he didn't want to believe he sought out the wrong thing in the wrong person.

Han was quiet and listening. Changbin had ditched his friend to come over here and speak to him, and Changbin and Han had become so close over their meetings. And he never questioned Han, but Han wasn't stupid. He always saw the curiousness in Changbin's eyes and the disappointment when there was a lack of information, but he didn't know how bad it was.

There was no way he could be mad at Changbin, so he calmed himself and tried not talking about the topic.

"Don't apologize on his behalf Changbin, it wasn't your fault and I'd like to hear it from him. Let's also not talk about it right now. At the moment I don't feel like I'm in the right mind to talk about him or go meet the others, so we will have to postpone that. But could you help me check out once the guy comes back?"

Han's words were sharp and straight to the point, but Changbin nodded. He knew Han wasn't in the right mind to meet everybody else. But it didn't seem like Han liked Minho at all and that worried him. Maybe he'll get around to telling Han Minho's situation. Then he thinks Han would warm up to Minho.

Changbin noticed though that Han was very firm on not telling anything about what was happening to him, since he wanted Minho to apologize. Changbin was really curious to what could be so terrible that Han doesn't want to share it with even him.

The clerk conveniently came back and told the pair that he'd be at checkout, packaging Han's supplies. Han made his way there with Changbin when Changbin gasped suddenly.

"Wait! Before you checkout, you have to get a phone, so we can communicate more easily, since you have like a lot of money left, even after buying all those lightbulbs." Changbin said very excitedly. In reality, Changbin was terrible at remembering things, but he's glad he remembered asking Han to get a phone.

So he rushed Han over to the phone section and Han ogled at the device there. Han has Geo give him a quick lesson and overview of the device while he was "deciding" his phone.

Han mentally scoffed at the name "Smart" phone. Humans think they are so amazing. Han wished he could view it as endearing, but today did not seem like that kind of day.

But Changbin was right about it being useful for communication and it'd make Changbin and his life easier, so he decided to pick out a dark green device.

While he was educating himself, Changbin came back with a SIM card for his device and relayed the price of it and asked if Han wanted to pay it all right now or later or every month. Han said he'd get rid of the expenses today and showed Changbin the device he chose.

"I see that you're an apple user. Sad, we had to lose you to them. iPhone 12 Pro Max? Not bad, I really like the color. Did you choose it because of your bracelet?" Changbin asked.

Han didn't even notice that Geo and the device were in the same color group. He'd never liken Geo to the mere "smart" phone. Not that Geo would be offended, unlike the technology back home (like Vera), Geo couldn't exhibit emotions. But she was still better than his iPhone. Han cringed internally calling it his.

"You could say that." He replied to Changbin.

"Let's get it set up right now, so we can add each other," Changbin was jumping with joy. His past worried disregarded.

Han looked disinterested in the phone, but Changbin knew that he would be happy and thankful when he was by himself. I mean how could someone not have a phone! But now he did, but he was trying to hide his excitement and act cool. That sounded like something Han would do.

Also if they could communicate without having to meet at one specific spot, it's easier to calm Han down and eventually warm up to all of them again. Also he wouldn't have to run to the streetlight every day, though the exercise was welcomed.

Changbin was an optimist and though nothing was okay right now, he could see it getting better already.

With the help of the clerk and Changbin, Han had successfully been able to get his phone up and running, along with Changbin's number added into his contacts.

"Okay, that's it. When you want to tell me to meet up with you, just go to messages and find my contact and text me." Changbin graciously explained just in case Han didn't know.

Han nodded and held the phone in his hands as Changbin handed it back to him.

A warm feeling spread across his chest as he was staring at Changbin's contact.

Changbin who's always been there with me. Changbin, who didn't make me feel useless or out of the ordinary. Changbin who doesn't question me. Changbin, the only one who really cares.

Han felt emotional thinking about all that Changbin had done for him. He'd practically saved Han. And he keeps doing it time and time again. From loneliness, from anxiety, from hurt, from pressure. He could always rely on Changbin.

Changbin shuffled through Han's money paying for the phone with the cashier. Once he was done, Han threw himself on Changbin in a fit of emotion. His eyes were teary but hidden in Changbin's shoulder. Also there was no way he'd cry right now, whether he wanted to or not.

Changbin shuffled back in surprise, but immediately recovered and hugged Han back so tight, Han though Changbin might force the tears from his eyes.

They stayed like that for a while, tight in each other's embrace. Changbin grinned happily at the hug. He liked Han's hugs already he could tell, he hoped to me getting more. Maybe even giving one eventually.

When they finally drew back, Changbin saw the thread of water glazing Han's lower eyelid and it took all his self-control not to mention it and comfort him about it.

Han hadn't said thank you himself, but his eyes said it for him, so even with the silence coming from the other male, Changbin replied, "No problem Hannie."

He quickly moved on after that, "Right! Before you go, you also have to buy a phone case, let's go look at some."

Then Changbin dragged Han to an aisle of phone cases ranging from aesthetic to cartoony. They were all blue though because the store refused to clash its vibe with other vibrant colors.

"We have a couple hundred less than half your money left, but don't let that hold you back. None of these cost that much anyway."

Han nodded, not trusting himself to speak and also lost in all the shades of blue he didn't even know existed.

There were many that looked really fascinating, but Han traveled towards the more cartoony section, since Han was a fan of drawings.

There weren't that many colors to choose from, but still there were many distinctive designs.

Then something caught his eye.

It was a blue-tinted clear case with small dainty stary splatter near the top of it and a couple of mix and matched planets painted on the sides. On the bottom right corner was a giant planet and on top of it a humanized version of what Han assumed was a spaceship. Then there was a small little creature with yellow skin and elf-like ears sitting next to the ship. Han's eyes widened, this galaxy looked familiar to him, but he knew for sure that it wasn't his galaxy.

His hand gravitated towards the case and Changbin came over to examine Han's choice.

"What a coincidence! A friend of mine actually made that case and begged Minho and his boss to being able to sell it here. Gosh he'll be so happy! There weren't really selling before..." Changbin trailed off as if the negative part of the conversation wasn't needed.

Han mentally thanked him for that. But he did have a point. What a coincidence! Han thought bitterly. The universe really wants me to meet with Changbin's friends, probably because it wants to see how many of them he can fight with and chase off.

If Han had only heard the first part of the story, he'd have put the case back immediately, but now that he knew that Changbin's friend's handmade cases weren't selling, he couldn't just not get it now. Plus, the landscape and creature on the case looked way too familiar and it was bugging Han.

"This is the one." Han told Changbin and offer him a brief smile.

Changbin happily took the case out of his hands to go buy it. Han took the time to glaze over the other cases. Just for fun.

Once everything was paid for, Changbin gave Han his money back and helped him put the case on. Though the case was clear, the green exterior of the phone made it look like Han's little yellow companion was lost in a green night sky with a broken ship. The idea hit a little too close to home.

Han turned to Changbin to say goodbye. He wanted to hug him again, but his body (and stupid pride) wouldn't let him. So he tried to sound as sincere as possible.

"Thanks Changbin. I mean it. We may not meet tomorrow but I'm glad to know you're here with me. I'm sorry for your friend. I really wish we got off on a better foot. I don't regret anything, but I would've liked to get along with him. But it doesn't really matter since I have you. You've done a lot for me even though you didn't need to. I hope I can repay you one day."

Han was somehow out of breath after he said it, though he doesn't remember holding his breath.

Changbin's eyes twinkled. Changbin couldn't help but feel proud and privileged to hold Han's trust, even though Minho had practically lost it.

"We're friends Hannie. I'll always be here for you. I'll talk to Minho. He may regret what he said later, but know that no matter what he does, he does it because he cares like I do for you."

Han only nodded and waved to Changbin before leaving.

Changbin waved and turned at the sound of footsteps. Chan was coming his way.

At that moment his phone let out a small ding and he fished it out to see the message.

Han: ❤

Changbin smiled, and got ready to report to Chan.

"How'd it go?" Chan asked cautiously. Though the look on Changbin's face showed him no indication of worry.

"Well we got him a phone and he got the things he needed. He's not coming over to meet the rest today, but he seemed to calm down after we got his phone ready. Also we really need to stop getting everybody's hope up about his arrival. We'll tell them he's coming when we're on our way there. Otherwise, they'll stop believing us." Changbin told Chan.

Chan nodded, "I guess that's good. What did he say about Minho?"

Changbin hesitated. "Well, he said that he didn't regret what he did." The words made Chan's jaw twitch slightly. "But he said that he wishes it wasn't like this. I'm thinking that means room for improvement with given time."

Chan sighed, "You're such an optimist. Maybe you're right."

Changbin asked Chan his own question, "How's Minho?"

A voice spoke up behind them.

"I'm fine. Chan's going to help me."

They both jumped at the voice, yet already knowing the owner.

"How long were you standing there?" Changbin asked.

"Long enough to know what Hannie thinks of me." Chan and Changbin visibly saddened, they were supposed to sugarcoat it a bit.

"It's alright. It's good I got to hear it raw. Once you think he's feeling better could you relay a message to him" Minho asked.

Changbin nodded, mentally preparing his forgetful mind.

"Tell him I don't regret what I did either, but I won't bother him about his situation anymore or force him to do things anymore. I don't regret what I said because I want to remind him how hard it is helping people without knowing their story, but I do regret losing my cool and making him lose his cool. I hope we can still be friends." Minh said, looking distant.

"Chan, I'm going to need you to text me that," Changbin said anxiously.

"Already on it." Chan replied. The two noticed he had his phone out since Minho started speaking.

"What would we do without you!" Changbin thanked dramatically.

Chan only rolled his eyes. People told him that way too much in a single day.

"So your gonna be okay, right?" Changbin asked Minho tentatively.

Minho grinned and dropped his hand on Chan's shoulder, "Yup! Chan's got it all figured out."

Chan sighed, "I'm treating him and we're going to have a scheming session on how to get his normal paycheck back."

Changbin smiled. Things are definitely working out.

{Time Skip}

{With Han}

Things were definitely working out...until they weren't.

Han sighed dramatically.

Does Han regret anything in the moment? Absolutely not. It was going to come out eventually and it's better he got it out at the beginning. He's hoping people won't bother him anymore.

But he never wanted to fight with Minho. He knows for sure that he's not going to leave it like this, but he needs a bit time to his self before he talks to him again.

He's going to be pretty busy fixing Vera anyway so maybe it was good that he created an excuse to distance himself...yeah, I'm going to stop trying to convince myself.

I had the lightbulbs spread neatly next to me, though I know it won't stay like that.

He realized that he should text Changbin that's he'll be inactive and that he'll come by when he's done.

Han: Hey Changbin

Changbin: Hey Hannie

Han: I wanted to tell you that I might be in active for a while

Han: I'll text to when we can meet up again

Changbin: Ok cool

Changbin: I'll check on you once in a while

Changbin: ...also it might be good to talk about the situation eventually

Changbin: Minho told me to relay a message that I'll relay once Chan text me it

Han: Wait!

Han: Could you text me it tomorrow?

Han: I don't think I'll really take it seriously right now and I don't want to do that to him

Changbin: ok

Changbin: Also I have a surprise for u ^^

Han: ?

Han smiled at the text. Oh?

Changbin: [ Attached audio file]

Han clicked on it and listened to what was coming out of the file. He heard chords and he realized what it was when the first to lines were sung.

He wanted to cry again, he didn't, but he felt like it.

It was the song. The song Han helped Changbin make. The one about their favorite streetlight.

Han: ❤

Changbin: 💕

Han listened to the whole song in still silence for a while, letting its emotions sink in. He knew for sure now.

He had to live his best life on this planet before he left. No more mistakes. No more arguments.

He didn't want to leave this place with regrets or bad memories.

So once he was done fixing Vera, he'd talk it out with Minho. He was planning for an apology of some sorts and a hug, but he'd see how it went when it happened.

He had an idea. He was less sure about this, but every moment kept convincing him.

I need to tell Changbin what's really happening. I need to show him.

Time and time again Changbin has been someone Han can trust and he knows that if he tells Changbin, then he'll have someone to defend him and tell others to lay off. He'd see how he felt the next time they met, but it seemed to be the best option for him.

He'd just have to actually do it the next time they meet. Again, he'd figure it out then.

So Han grabbed Vera, the contraption he made the other day, and the enormous number of lightbulbs he bought that day and put it in front of him.

He grabbed his phone, in its glory of a beautiful case made by Changbin's friend, and replayed Changbin's song.

And He worked. And Worked. And worked.

Changbin's voice drowning him in concentration he hasn't felt in so long, only stopping his concentration to replay Changbin's song.

The lightbulbs energy sucked into the contraption and then into Vera, seemingly pulsing to the song. Though that might've been Han's imagination.

Imagination or not, Han was motivated and calm from the song that Changbin made and not once did his mind not marvel at the effect of the words and chords on his mood.

This song was Changbin's. This song encompassed Changbin. Han trusted the power and message of the song. Every cord, every verse.

I need someone before I collapse

ask me again if I'm okay

Please

Anybody

Unable to rely on anything

I chose to rely on myself

But now that I'm shaking

who can I even hold onto for support?

But who cares?

I can't let it out

I can't let it all out

Han trusted Changbin.

A/N: I really liked this chapter though it was mostly a filler. Stuff happens in the next one so be readyyy.

Random Question: How do y'all fell about angst, not in this story, but like in general?

People talk about how it's cruel to enjoy someone's suffering, but I don't think enjoying angst is always 100% like that. Sometimes it's about emphasizing and feeling what the other people do. If someone like writing can move you so much that you feel it, then you'd obviously like that. Some people can't help it if they are moved by sadness more than happiness. But that's just my opinion anyway. I can see how someone wouldn't like angst.

(This all happened becuz I read something very angsty and it was slow burn, so I was watching everything break down in slow motion while knowing it was going to happen, and now that I've gotten off that roller coaster that eneded bittersweetly, I feel kinda numb. Yes. That's how good it was)

Thanks for listening to my TED talk!
