Ch 5: Composing and Pizza
A/N: Welcome everyone to my last pre-written chapter. I've started the next one and hopefully I'll be able to finish it before next week. Things in this story are I guess taking a turn and this chapter is a little longer than the others, so I hope you'll enjoy it. Also, I LOVE STRAY KIDS 🥺
{With Changbin}
To say that Changbin went back to his secret hideaway just to see if Han would be there, wouldn't be a lie. After meeting Han that day, Changbin got really curious about the boy and wanted to introduce him to his friends. A new friend might help them all a lot anyways. He's going to meet one of them soon since he said he needed help with some electrical thingy. Changbin really wants to know what he wants with electrical parts. Stuff like that can be dangerous, so he hopes that Han isn't planning on doing anything unsafe. The thought of Han dying made Changbin uneasy, especially since he'd have helped Han do it, so Changbin went back that day hoping to see the boy again, just to make sure everything's alright.
But when he arrived, Han wasn't there. So he sat down on the bench anyway, now having a reason to be sad. But then Changbin realized that he came a little earlier than Han had last night, maybe if he waited...Yah! You idiot if he doesn't come then it's good. That means he isn't sad today. Do you want him to be sad?!, Changbin scolded himself, but decided to wait nevertheless. I'm going to have to find a way to repay Chan for this, he sighed remembering the extra work he was putting his friend through.
{With Han}
That day when Han woke up, he was having mixed feelings about going back to Changbin's secret place. He wanted to see Changbin so that they could meet his friend who'd help him get the part he needed to fix his ship, but he didn't want to move things so fast.
Of course he wanted to go back home, more than anything right now actually. But to go into town would mean to be around so many humans that he didn't even know. He didn't know why, but even disguised, he felt like maybe they'd all be able to see right through him and how different he is. Just him being so different from everyone made him feel so lonely. It reminded him how far away from home he was and how different him and the humans were.
With Changbin, Han forgot that he was different. With Changbin, they just talked and had fun and he seemed like he was a friend from back home, but deep down, Han was still scared. Scared he'd wake up and this would all be a dream. That there's no Changbin and there never was. No one at all. That he was actually alone and that he was stuck. Thinking about going into the city triggered negative thoughts like these and Han didn't really want to fall down that rabbit hole.
He really didn't want to go in the city, so he was considering asking Changbin to get his stuff for him, but he also didn't want to have to explain his story to Changbin since Changbin might've been skeptical about doing it for him without any backstory. Plus he'd have to see the electrical machinery for himself. Also, he'd feel terribly guilty if he forced Changbin to do everything for him because he was a coward. Han didn't want to keep running away from his problems, but he didn't really want to face them either.
He decided that he'd still go, but he hoped that Changbin wasn't there. Not because he didn't want to see him again, but because he was anxious that Changbin would make him go into the city. Changbin did say that he wanted Han to meet his friends, what if Changbin dragged him to all of his friends one by one, just for Han to meet them, and he knows that Changbin knows a lot of people, who knows how long it'd take them. And he even might have to stay with Changbin over night! The very thought was killing him.
He really didn't hate Changbin, but he didn't want to take things too fast either, but he didn't know how to explain to Changbin why. He couldn't just say that he didn't want to go into the city because he was afraid of humans, right? Changbin would think he was crazy, he might even ditch Han after that.
Han wished he had Vera to console him, but he needed to get that part to fix her, again making him want to go into the city. He tried to think what Vera would tell him to do. She'd probably tell him to go to the place and if Changbin asked to go into the city, then to kindly decline his offer and come up with an almost reasonable explanation. Vera had morals, but not lying definitely wasn't one of them. So Han convinced himself to head there, and if he saw Changbin he'd just hope for the best.
{Time Skip}
Han had arrived earlier than he did last time. He must've gotten used to the route, which was great progress since he didn't want to waste too much time walking. The sun had just set, and the sky was still a dark blue, rather than the deep black it was the day before. The minute he saw the road, he raced towards it weirdly happy. He reached the road, and instinctively looked around it and saw Changbin sitting on the bench. He froze for a second, shrinking back into the forest slowly.
Why am I scared, I know Changbin is a good person? Han, just go it'll be fine, he desperately tried to persuade himself, but his legs wouldn't obey him no matter how hard he tried, but Han looked closer at Changbin and realized that he wasn't moving. Worry invaded Han's mind and encouraged his feet to race across the road towards the bench.
He walked closer and saw that Changbin's head was tilted over the bench with one of his hands covering his eyes, but his chest was moving. Han relaxed realizing that Changbin was sleeping. Surely, he didn't come to this place to sleep, he lives somewhere else in the city, right? Han thought, but Han was more confused with what to do now. Should he wake Changbin up, ignoring his fear, or should he let him sleep in the uncomfortable position he was in? Han sighed and sat next to Changbin on the bench, not doing anything at first.
The streetlight shined on half of Changbin's figure illuminating it, and the position Changbin was in caused the sight to look almost like it was out of a painting. Han stared at Changbin and slowly reached out his hand towards Changbin shoulder, and gently rested his hand on Changbin's shoulder. He was planning to shake Changbin gently and see if he'd wake up or not and if he didn't, then he'd let the male sleep.
But Changbin immediately shot up the minute Han touched his shoulder, and Han's had retreated back to its position super quickly since Changbin had just scared him half to death. Then Changbin laughed.
"Oh, sorry, didn't know it was you. You finally came," he said standing up and stretching. "He looked around and up at the sky. "Did I fall asleep?"
Changbin turned towards Han to find that Han's eyes were beginning to wet. He freaked out, "Hey Hannie, you all right?"
Han wasn't alright, he was greatly mad at himself. I was scared to meet Changbin and then I come and find out that he was waiting for me this whole time. He fell asleep here waiting for me. Han put his head to his forehead. What an Idiot. But Han smiled heartfelt. He really should stop questioning Changbin's motives.
"Hey, I'm sorry," Han took his hand off his forehead and apologized to Changbin.
"Sorry? For what?" Changbin asked genuinely confused and worried.
Han was silent for a while. Sorry for many things. It's my fault you slept here and missed out on your day and probably hurt your back in the process. Also for thinking so terribly of you. How was I supposed to know that you would really care for me this much?! I'm sorry that I can't go into the city, even if you want me too. I'm sorry for everything I'm going to left unsaid as well.
Then he took a deep breath. "I'm sorry, that I made you sleep out here waiting for me. I really had no idea that you would come back here just to meet me," Han said looking down, rubbing his neck with his hand sheepishly.
Changbin's eyes softened and transformed into shining crescents, rivaling the streetlight's light, "Listen bro, it really isn't your fault. I guess I was too excited to meet you again, that I forgot that you would probably come back here the same time you came. Also I could've always gone back and then came later, but I was too lazy for that, so it really isn't your fault. Anyway that isn't important, I'm so glad you came."
Han smiled and looked up at Changbin, his eyes mirroring the same effect Changbin's eye had on, only for a split second, until he realized what was coming next.
"I came back because I wanted to ask you when you wanted to meet my friend about your electrical problem. I also wanted you to meet Chan, he's slightly unconvinced that you even exist and thinks I made you up, but I'm sure he'd be really excited to meet you," Changbin talked enthusiastically.
He remembered the curious look in Chan's eye, when Changbin talked about Han. Jeongin was also listening in on the conversation and was the first one to think that Changbin was trying to find an excuse for himself. Chan laughed at what Jeongin said, but Changbin had no real indication if Chan believed Changbin's story or not, but he wanted to use that as an excuse to introduce Hannie to them. Changbin got confused though when he saw Han's eyes tense up, before returning to their previous state.
Han put a hand on his neck and tried to reply to Changbin, "Well you see...umm..." It wasn't going to well. Ah! What do I do, do I just directly tell him? Is that polite, what if he hates me for it or gets upset?
Han knew he couldn't delay his response too much, so he stuck with his heart. I'll just tell him my feelings honestly, if he gets upset, I can always beg him to still help me anyway.
"So the thing is Changbin, even with my problem, I'm still kind of afraid about going into the city. And about meeting new people in general. I don't know why I'm like this, but meeting and talking to you somehow ended up being a fluke. It was a good fluke, I'm glad it happened, you're a really cool person. But I need time and I'm sorry to have to tell you that after you were so excited to show me to your friends. I really am. You know what, if you really what me to I can actually go and meet them and get it over with, I'm sure there not bad-I mean of course they're not bad! I just-" Han rambled, until Changbin cut him off.
"Woah Woah calm down!" Changbin said strictly and Han went quiet, dreadfully anticipating Changbin's reaction.
"Thanks for telling me Hannie. I really mean it. I was excited to show you to my friends, but I'd feel terrible knowing that you weren't comfortable with it. Thanks for opening up to me and telling me even though it must've been hard. They're my friends, but you seem to keep forgetting that you're my friend too now. You can tell me stuff like this, alright? Seungmin used to be like that too, so I'm actually pretty used to it. It's good that I know your boundaries. I don't want to rush you so just tell me when you're ready. Then we can go into the city and meet my friends. Until then we can just meet here and chill away from them. It'll be good anyway, your final moments of silence."
Han was relieved to say the least and smiled ear to ear. What Changbin said was a little confusing since he had no idea who Seungmin was, and how humans could be afraid of other humans the way he was, but he paid more attention to everything else Changbin said. He smiled and replied to Changbin eagerly, "Don't worry I'll tell you when I'm ready. Thank you soo much! And don't worry it won't take too long. I just need a couple of days. Maybe three or four or something, but I'll be ready soon."
Changbin nodded, "No need to rush remember. Also, can I have your phone number so we can communicate easily."
Han's brain dropped all the way down to his shoes. He had no literal idea what Changbin was talking about. He hoped Geo would be able to save him and he made a note to look at it later. "Uhhh. I lost my old phone, so I was thinking of getting a new one when I went to the city," words came out of Han's mouth embarrassedly.
Changbin stared at Han dumbfounded, but a smile found its way to his lips, "That's alright, but remind me that we need to get you one when we go in." He got up and put a hand on Han's shoulder and said, "K, imma head out. I'm sorry to cut our meeting short, but I'm pretty sure Chan needs me right now."
Han nodded and grinned, "See ya and you don't know how glad I am right now. Also, tell Chan that I'm scared of him."
Changbin laughed and waved, "Sure!" and made his way back. Han watched him leave. He smiled in content. Everything was working out so far. Han always expected things to go wrong and prepared for them as well. Leaving his room created a battlefield for him, but even though he was so far away from home, Han felt at ease. He didn't want to leave right away so he decided to stay with the streetlight a little longer before going.
He leaned back into the bench, I shouldn't have made such a big deal about Changbin sleeping here, It's actually pretty comfy, he playfully thought, a smile dancing its way to his lips.
{A long Time Skip}
The next day Han arrived at the same time he usually went and found nobody there, so he sat down on the bench, it was quiet, and Han didn't know if Changbin was coming but even though he wanted Changbin to come, he didn't mind if Changbin didn't come since he knew the older was busy with important things.
He was surprised when he heard breathless runs and a running Changbin heading towards him. He almost tried to step out of the way, until he remembered that he was sitting down on a bench. He laughed and said, "Hey, you're not running away from someone are you?"
Changbin smiled, "Nah, I worked a bit later last night, and made up for a little bit of the time I missed. Chan was actually happy I was going. He told me to say hi to you from him."
Han replied, "Tell him I said hi too. Anyways, I was curious. What do you work as?"
Changbin smiled, he was about to talk about his passion, make way people for the rant, if only Han knew. "Well you see Hannie, I work as a producer, a music producer. Me and Chan are actually in a group, but we haven't officially debuted yet and we don't have a proper name yet. But I have a great one that Chan is too stubborn to admit that he likes."
Han raised his eyebrow as if asking Changbin. Changbin smiled mischievously, "Get ready, it's ChaCha. A 'Cha' from my name and from Chan's and you put it together and it becomes ChaCha. Genius, Isn't it?"
Jisung tried to hold back his laughs, right now Geo was telling him that the ChaCha was a dance, and he had no idea if Changbin knew or not. Changbin rolled his eyes, "It's perfect. Laugh all you want. Everybody's a critic these days," he said with a pout.
"Anyways, other than that we come up with sick songs and write amazing lyrics, but recently I've been out of ideas," Changbin said in thought.
Jisung turned to Changbin so that he was sitting crisscrossed on the bench alongside Changbin. "I can help you think of something. Let's see what about...the small things in life," Han said excited.
Changbin sighed, "We already did that."
"Oh, then what about...uhh running, suicide, climate change..." Jisung said dumping ideas out from his mind.
"Already did those too," Changbin said sadly.
"If you did so many songs, why do you keep doing more, isn't it enough?" Han questioned curiously.
"Making more is how things go, Hannie. You can never stop. There's so much to talk about and so much so many different people will be attracted to. We need to be prepared for more than what we have now. It isn't why keep doing more, but it's why stop. When we have a lot of fans, I don't want to disappoint at all and I know me and Chan have the talents to accomplish that," Changbin said inspirationally.
Jisung stared at Changbin surprised, he could practically feel the passion radiating off of Changbin's words. He was hooked, he couldn't tell if the words were pulling him in or if Changbin just made it sound cool. He really wanted to help Changbin and then had the most brilliant idea ever.
"Hey, what about writing a song about the streetlight?!" Han said excitingly, his face lighting up. "You could talk about how lonely it is and how it stands tall for other people. You could like write from its perspective. That'll give you another way to repay it back as well. Just talk about what you told me when we first met." Han gazed awaiting Changbin's response, eager to see his reaction and hoping he agreed to the idea. Han was really excited to see what Changbin would come up with.
Changbin seem surprised over the idea, and put his finger to his chin, mulling it over. "Actually, I haven't done that yet...Oh my god Han Jisung you're a GENIUS!" Changbin exclaimed, jumping from the bench grabbing Jisung's shoulders and shaking the life out of them. After he calmed down, he stopped shaking a scarred Jisung and let out a dramatic whine, "Maaaan, why didn't I think of that idea? It was literally the most obvious idea ever. I've got to start working on it right away!"
Han snapped out of his traumatized daze suddenly and asked Changbin, "But you could work on it here too, right? With me?" Han didn't want Changbin to leave just yet.
Changbin nodded and chuckled, "Sure no problem. Lemme just text Chan real quick." He took out his phone and found Chan's contact and texted him that he'd be working on a song in Jisung's company. Chan replied quickly asking for spoilers and context, to which Changbin just left him on read. Chan might be a little annoyed when he got back, but the minute he saw the sickly sad lyrics written in Changbin's Notes app, he'd immediately forgive him.
"Ok. I'm going to start working, so sorry If I like am really quiet and don't reply back to you right away," Changbin informed Han. Han nodded, but there was a feeling inside of him. He didn't want to sit there and watch Changbin work. If it were anything else, he definitely wouldn't mind being excused, but writing emotionally and poetically was something Han excelled at. He didn't want to come off as bratty, but everything he'd done so far was forgiven and appreciated by Changbin, so maybe he'd allow for Han to help him.
"Hey, before you start working, would you mind if I help too?" Han asked.
"Well, sure, but do you know anything about writing lyrics? It can be a little difficult if you have zero background knowledge," Changbin countered.
"I write a lot of poems and lyrical stuff, maybe not something as grand as this, but I'll try my best I promise. I may not know a lot about how you write songs and stuff, but I do know about the streetlight and the feelings it gives. You and me both know that feeling well. I know that I can channel something out of this brain of mine to help you, so please give me a chance," Han asked desperately.
Changbin smiled, motivated by Han's passion. "Ok then. Let's get started!"
Han and Changbin moved closer to each other so that the both of them could look at the phone. Changbin wrote down some notes and in a few minutes began writing down some lyrics. Every now and then Han added his input and when Changbin couldn't understand what he was talking about, he'd write some verses as an example. They went back and forth like that, until Changbin had a whole song done. They both smiled at the work they had done.
Han had to admit that he wanted a job like Changbin's. It was so much more enjoyable compared to being a King. "That was so much fun! If you ever want my help. I'll be here. I can't wait to do that again."
"You were much better than I expected you to be," Changbin said and immediately added, after seeing Han's pout, "Not that I expected you to be bad at it, just maybe a bit uneducated. But now I have a whole song done to throw in Chan's face. I'll just have to go over it with Chan, find some music, record and we're done. I'm sure he'll love it."
"There's still more?" Han questioned.
"Yup. There goes more into a song then I think you understand. Anyways, I'm itching to show Chan this new song, so I'll see you later, K Hannie?" Changbin said, waving.
Han nodded, waving back, "K Changbin, See ya! Also can we meet earlier, maybe sometime in the morning, 11:00?" Han asked, since he didn't want to waste Changbin's sleep time anymore, but he didn't tell him that directly because he knew the older would deny the statement.
"Yeah, sure. I'm cool with that. Beats sneaking away from Chan. We'll meet at 11." Changbin said before giving a final wave and leaving.
Han watched him and waited a little sitting on the bench, thinking about the song. I need to remember to tell him to show me the full thing when he's done with it, he thought in his head. He sighed, he didn't really want to walk all the way back, but nevertheless got up and made his way. I'll remember to bring a pillow and a blanket next time, I'm sure I'll find something on the ship.
{Another Long Time Skip}
Changbin POV
Me, Chan, and Jeongin. were out getting pizza today for lunch. Yes, for lunch. Me and Chan are going to have midnight snacks anyway, so we usually ignore "dinner." We had just gotten the pizza when I realized that it was near 11. I was supposed to meet Han soon.
"Chan, do you mind going on the road that nobody ever goes on the way back?" I asked Chan hopefully. Chan seemed skeptical, so I did my wonderful aegyo to convince him. He cringed and covered his eyes, until Jeongin reminded him that he can't drive whilst covering his eyes. Sheesh, they're so dramatic. They love my aegyo, there just too chicken to admit it.
"Why do you want to go there Changbin, isn't it better to just get back quickly so we can eat and get back to work?" Chan asked, he didn't say no, so I had a chance.
"Well, I promised Han yesterday that I'd see him today at this time, but I completely forgot we were getting pizza today. I just need to tell him that we have to hang out some other day because I'm with you guys right now," I told them. Jeongin snorted.
"Okay first of all, how dare you forget about us and PIZZA! Second of all, stop making us go see your imaginary other friend. It must be sad not having any other friends Changbin, but that doesn't mean you can make people up just for fun. Also the pizza will get cold," Jeongin scolded me, worrying about the pizza.
Changbin glared at Jeongin, "For the last time, he's real and I DO have other friends."
Chan watched us fight, this wasn't going to end well, he'd always side with Jeongin, but then I remembered Chan's face when I showed him the song. I hummed the melody we created for the song, trying to make Chan remember it, without Jeongin noticing me stealing Chan away from him.
"Why are you humming? I'm not even speaking that loud," Jeongin asked confused. Trying to shut me up by covering his mouth. "Shut uuuup! It's annoying."
Chan sighed, "Okay, let's go meet Han Jisung."
"Yay" I said happily as Jeongin let out his famous dolphin screech, rocking Chan's hands off the steering wheel for just a second before he dramatically grabbed it again, steadying the straying car.
"Noooooo, the Pizza! This is injustice! Changbin, I'm telling your mom," Jeongin whined, sticking his tongue out. I smiled knowing I'd won the argument and the Jeongin was joking (hopefully) about calling my mom.
Chan took the route that would eventually lead us towards me and Han's secret place. I just then realized that Han might freak out if he saw that I brought Chan and Jeongin with me. It would be terrible if I saw how betrayed he was. I remember what happened when Jeongin made that mistake with Seungmin. Seungmin and Han were kind of similar in that way, but in any case, I didn't want to risk making Han mad at me.
I changed my tone and warned the other boys, "Hey guys, when we see Han, you guys can't come out and talk to him, only me okay. Han doesn't want to meet other people yet and don't stare him down too much and make him uncomfortable. Just start a conversation with each other and occasionally glance at him, Okay?"
"More proof he isn't real, Ha-ha," Jeongin said, but instantly regretted it when he saw the seriousness in my eyes. "Sorry," he quietly mumbled afterwards. Both of them agreed to my requests and I really hoped that they wouldn't scare Han. My friends are scary enough, Han might think everybody in town is scary after meeting them.
{Another Mini Time Skip}
No One's POV
Han had arrived at the area a bit after 11 but saw that Changbin still wasn't there. Han sighed. The whole point of being later on purpose was so the other person could arrive first, but he'd be fine if Changbin had ignored his universal laws this once. He sat on the bench and waited for Changbin to arrive.
Everything was okay for a couple of minutes, but then Han saw a car driving down the road. What! Changbin said this road was abandoned most of the time, his brain was freaking out, but he tried to calm himself down. Han figured that looking down and avoiding eye contact would be the best way to survive his predicament. The car would just pass by wouldn't it?
Han lowered his head, seeing the tires approach out of the corner of his eyes and his heart dropped when he saw them slow down. He continued to his strategy and began playing with his fingers, watching them tangle. Wouldn't it be interesting to know how many seconds it would take for Han to make a 3 faded red nail marks on the back of his hands? Han thought so too. Out of the corner of his eyes, he saw the car stop a couple of feet away from the bench.
Han didn't look up as he heard the door open, and he didn't look up as he heard footsteps. He only looked up when he heard a voice.
"Sooo Uh...Hannie I wanted to tell you that I'm going to have to cut our meeting short because I had to go somewhere with my friends, but I forgot to tell you. So I had to come over here with them in a car and I'm soooo sorry that I brought them even though you told me not to yet, but DON'T worry, I won't make you meet them so everything's okay, right?" Changbin rambled out of sudden nervousness. Han hadn't looked up when Changbin had arrived and seeing how nervous the boy was from the car hadn't made him feel any better about bringing his friends.
Han took a deep breath. "It's...It's alright. Since I'm not meeting them anyway. You really could've just told me tomorrow though and I'd have been fine." Han said with a sigh and a small awkward smile afterwards. He really couldn't get mad at Changbin, especially since he came all the way back just to tell him that he wouldn't be here.
"Jeongin you're supposed to not act sus," came a voice behind Changbin. Changbin looked like he was going to die from second-hand embarrassment.
"Chan this isn't Among Us, okay? I can't here them, so obviously I'm going to get closer. I seriously thought Changbin made him up, but now we know that he might be in love," Jeongin whisper-yelled back to Chan being anything less than quiet. Han looked back at Changbin's flushed face and heard him mumble, "Don't mind them. Honestly, just enjoy not meeting them yet."
After hearing Changbin's friends messing around with him, Han had become a little more at ease. They seemed funny to be honest and when he saw there faces, he was surprised a little bit. Chan looked like everything Han had expected him to, nice, but strict and strong at the same time. He looked like the healers back at home, they always had that smile that made you feel better even in the worst of times. Changbin had mentioned Jeongin a little bit, but Han had expected someone dark and evil, but what he saw was a literal child. A cute guy with shining eyes and messy hair falling softly above his eyes. Han unintentionally smiled.
"They seem cool, I'm even surprised myself. I'm not going to lie, I was a bit worried and upset that you had brought them over, but...I think I'm going to like being with them. BUT that doesn't mean I want to do that right now," Han explained.
Changbin dramatically sighed of relief. "Oh my god, ok. Sorry again. I'm going to tell them that you're excited to meet them. They'll be really happy, especially Jeongin since he didn't even believe that you existed. He's usually attracted to guys that aren't attracted to people in general, oh and I mean attracted in a friendly way, not the other way. So you're okay with us talking some other time, right?
Han nodded and smiled. "Yeah. We'll talk some other time, Enjoy with your time with your friends K."
Changbin smiled at Han, until his eyes landed to a pillow and blanket plopped on the bench. He pointed over to them, "What are those for?"
Han replied to him immediately, "Oh. I'm going to sleep over on the bench this time since yesterday I was too tired to walk back to my place."
"We could drive you back if you'd like," Changbin offered, knowing Han already would decline because of his noisy friends.
"GO Changbin, make a move and bring him home. I have a lot to talk to him about," Jeongin whisper-cheered proudly. Changbin ignored him to the best of his ability.
"Nah, I'm good. I realized that this place has a wonderful view of the stars and that I'd be comfortable here for a while," Jisung replied to Changbin's offer, silently laughing at his friend's words.
Changbin thought about what Han said and justified it. The boy sur likes his stars, he thought.
"If you say so," then Changbin remembered the pizza. "Hey, did you eat before coming here? It doesn't seem like you brought anything to keep you sustained."
Han did have some supplements back at his ship in the emergency hanger, but he didn't know how long he'd have to take them so he was rationing them, only eating as little as he could. He seemed to be operating fine so far, but he remembered next time to bring some with him at the very least. "Uhhh. Yeah, I had some food before, I'll be fine. I had enough to keep me sustained."
Changbin didn't believe him. "I'll be right back."
Changbin headed back towards the car and Han watched awkwardly as Changbin conversed with his friends and made motions towards something. Human food? I'm not picky but is this really a good idea? Han ignored the thought, he wondered what human food tasted like, a glimpse would be good anyway since he might have to get a little used to it once he went to town.
{With Changbin}
Changbin had gone back to the car, where he mildly scolded his friends for saying weird things while him and Han were talking. Let's just say it involved ear pulling and cheek poking (stabbing).
"Guys, Hannie's going to be sleeping here and I don't think he's had enough food, so I'm going to give him a slice, ok?" Changbin told his friends. They briefly giggled at Changbin's nickname for Han, teasing him before replying.
"Nooo, not my wonderful Pizza. Chan stop him!" Jeongin whined.
"C'mon Jeongin, we have to give him some. I did not raise you to be a hoard," Chan reprimanded.
"Fine, But one slice only, the pizza's cold anyway," Jeongin bargained.
"What! No, we should give him a whole box," Chan retorted a little too loudly.
Changbin looked back over at Han, whose expression changed from surprised to blushing in an instant. He glared at his friends who sheepishly smiled back to him. Without any more back talk, he got a tissue and two slices of pizza from the box and went away with it. Jeongin winced but kept the pain to himself. Farewell Drake and Dory, I have no doubt that you two were going to be delicious.
{Back With Han}
Changbin walked back to Han with the slices in hand. Han could see Jeongin and Chan peeking out of the car, excited for his reaction. Han looked over at the food Changbin was giving him with curiosity and horror, "Why does it look like you? Are you giving me one of your ancestors or descendants or something?"
Changbin's jaw dropped, the pizza was close to doing that as well, but Changbin saved it. Howls of laughter from Chan and Jeongin were heard in the background. That's when Han realized that maybe he didn't say the nicest of things.
Changbin's face was red and trying to read Han's face, searching for him joking. "Y-You've never had Pizza before?" Han shook his head.
Changbin bit his lip in annoyance. What am I going to do with this guy? He them gave a small smile before acting annoyed and saying, "And for the record my chin isn't as sharp as the pizza anyway, but very funny Hannie, but know that one day I'll get back at you and those squirrel-like cheeks of yours." Changbin smiled at his retort.
Han out of habit, poked both of his cheeks with both his index fingers, he didn't know what a squirrel was, but it had better be adorable because his cheeks were amazing. He pouted. Chan cooed in the background and Jeongin grinned at the sight. "I like him," he whispered to Chan. "He's been approved."
"My cheeks are amazing thank you very much. I was just joking about your chin though dude, it's a wonderful chin. It really stands out. I just wanted to solidify our friendship and make us stop being so awkward with each other. We're friends now, right? We can joke all we want." Han said, coming up with an excuse for his horror from before. He was amazingly warming himself with his own words. I'm amazing.
Changbin's heart lit up. He and Han WERE friends now. He realized how stupidly formal they had been acting. It must've been boring. Changbin let out a laugh and handed Han the pizza. He patted him roughly on the back one time.
"Atta' boy Hannie, you're finally stepping it up in our friendship. I'm so proud. Enjoy the pizza that is not as wonderful as my chin, though it's not like I'd let you eat my chin or anything. Tomorrow, same time eh?" Changbin asked, before he was bombarded by Jeongin.
"You Idiot! We're taking Seungmin to the animals shelter tomorrow at 11, how could you forget?" Jeongin yelled as loud as possible at Changbin, before Chan grabbed him and shoved him back into the backseat, quickly bowing and apologizing before getting into the car himself. Honestly though, Jeongin is so done with Changbin's memory at this point.
"Riiiight! So Day after tomorrow, 11?" Changbin asked again, waiting for Jeongin to bombard him, but when he didn't get anything, he assumed that he was free then.
"Sure day after tomorrow, but could we do 7 p.m. instead? Also don't forget to show me the song when you're done with it!" Han asked, he was too used to traveling near the end of the day, and he didn't feel like breaking his habit just yet.
Changbin looked back briefly towards Jeongin, who just shrugged. Jeongin only knew about the other event because he was going there too. Jeongin doesn't have time to memorize Changbin's schedule for him, what'd y'all think?
"Don't worry, I'll remember to show you. Yeah, I think I'm free then. If I don't show up, you can assume that I wasn't able to make it. Enjoy your nap and the pizza. We're going to head out now." Changbin said before making his way back to the car. Flicking the maknae's nose really quickly before sitting in the back with him.
Han waved at the three and they waved back before Chan started the car and drove back towards the city. Changbin stared back and watched Han get comfy on the bench before disappearing.
Han watched the car go before lounging on the bench in the most comfortable way possible, He had the blanket under him since he didn't want to drop any crumbs near the special place.
He began eating the pizza and loving it, though surprised at the thickness of the food compared to the supplements back at the ship. If everything tastes like pizza, then I think I'm ready for Earth food, Han joked with himself. He's ready for Earth's food regardless.
Day by Day, he was getting more and more ready to go into the city and that made him happier. I think next time, I'll be able to, he convinced himself.
