Chapter 5) Colby & Jon Return
Colby and Jon were finally coming back to Los Angeles, California for a mini vacation. It was exciting to see them again; unfortunately, it was a little saddening because Joe couldn't make it since he wanted to spend time with his family back in Florida. Which was understandable.
Brianna and I waited for the boys to arrive and we lounged around on my couch until we seen a black Lamborghini pulling into my driveway.
"Hey, Katherine!" Jon said as he high-fived me and went to see Brianna.
"Hello, beautiful. I missed you so much." Colby said while he pulled me into his embrace around Brianna and Jon.
"What's going on, Katie?" Jon asked me with suspicion.
"Nothing, Jon."
I watched Brianna and Jon sitting together on the other side of the couch, leaving Colby and I sitting down next to each other across from them.
"I'm so glad you two could make it." I said.
"You both are the only fans that we don't mind seeing. Although Katie is the only sane fan that we know of." Jon laughed.
"You're saying I'm the crazy fan, Jon?" Brianna gasped.
"Duh!" He laughed, "But hey, I love crazy chicks."
"While you two are here, where do you guys want to go?" I asked everyone.
"Maybe to the bar, if you girls happen to drink." Colby let out a small chuckle.
"I drink on occasion. It's fine with me." I said.
"Alright, let's go!"
The Bar
We finally arrived to the nearest bar here in California. I ordered a small beer and the boys ordered the same thing. Brianna ordered a small Margarita and we started drinking while holding a conversation about our daily lives.
I started to notice that Colby was feeling drunk as he clung onto me with a smile on his face.
"Do you wanna know something funny?" He whispered in my ear as the aroma of the beer lingered around my nose.
"What's that?" I laughed.
"I...I think I'm in love with you, Katherine." He said without hesitation.
Brianna and Jon's eyes widened after Colby said that he loved me. I've heard a saying in the past that people say how they really feel about someone when they're drunk. Could he be telling the truth?
"You do?" I asked, surprised.
"I wouldn't lie to you, baby." He giggled.
Jon wasn't easy to get drunk, neither was Brianna; something that they both seem to have in common. We all carried Colby's arms around our shoulders and went into their car with them, leaving the bar.
Brianna sat on the passengers side with Jon and Colby sat in the back with me.
"You're so beautiful, Katherine." He grinned while his cheek was pressed against mine, feeling the stubbles from his beard colliding against my face.
"Thank you."
Colby was drunk out of his mind. I watched as I seen him lay on my lap and he giggled like a little child the entire time. It was quite hilarious.
Arriving back to my house, Jon picked up Colby and laid him down on my couch while we all sat in a chair and waited for him to wake up with a massive hangover.
I seen Jon having a conversation with Brianna, but it was itching at me to ask him if Colby had feelings for me. I needed to get an answer from him and Joe somehow.
"Hey Jon?"
"What's up?"
"I need to talk to you alone if it's alright."
"That's fine with me." He stood up and smiled at Brianna, "Stay right there, beautiful. I'll be right back."
We went to the kitchen and I started to let out a deep sigh. "Jon, I know Colby is one of your best friends along with Joe, but have you ever heard Colby say that he feels something for me?"
"No, I haven't."
"Oh, okay." I said in disappointment.
"Wait. Do you feel something for Colby, Katie?" He asked with a smile.
I looked down at the floor as my face started to become red.
I dreaded giving an answer, afraid he'll tell Brianna and Colby. "I do."
"You do know that he has been texting you a lot lately, and he seems to be happy around you more than anyone else; even me and usually he's stubborn and arrogant. Weirdly, I remember him looking at his phone with a smile on his face whenever he receives a text message from you before our matches and stuff."
"Are you serious, Jon?"
"Look. You didn't hear it from me, but from what I've been seeing lately since we all first met, I believe he meant what he said."
"Colby really does love me, doesn't he?"
"I believe so, Katie."
"I have one last question to ask you before you go back to Brianna."
"Lay it on me." He grinned while looking down at me.
"Do you love her?" I asked.
"I mean, she's beautiful and I love everything about her. Even when she acts crazy over me like she did when we first met. I know I've said this earlier about loving crazy women. So, yeah. I do love her." He grinned as we both peeked at Brianna silently while she was on her phone, unaware that we were looking at her.
"You two should get together soon. Her dreams would come true and she would feel like she died and gone to Heaven." I started to laugh.
Jon started to laugh along with me and patted my back. "I might as well try soon. However!" He said as he put some emphasis at the end.
"What is it?"
"Try and see how things would go with Colby. I know our schedules are pieces of hot garbage, but I believe he wants to be with you too."
"Maybe." I looked at the ground. "I don't do relationships, Jon."
"Why not?" He raised an eyebrow.
"I can't tell you at the moment. It's very personal, but my last relationship made me never want another one for as long as I live."
"Damn, alright. I respect that since it's personal. Just see where the future will take you two. I'm sure something could happen between you guys."
"Maybe." I replied.
"You got this, Kiddo."
Jon walked back into the room and paid his undivided attention to Brianna.
I watched Colby as he was still asleep after being massively drunk at the bar. In the meantime, I started to check my phone for awhile until he sat up, running his fingers through his long, two-toned hair.
"Where am I?" He asked with a groggy voice.
"You got drunk at the bar. More like shit-faced." Jon said.
"Ah, I don't feel good at all right now."
Colby made a funny facial expression and then ran towards the bathroom. I started to worry and followed him, knocking on the door.
"Colby? Are you alright?"
"Yeah." He replied, "I'm...okay."
After he left the bathroom a few minutes later, he looked more sickly in the face.
"Fuck! I hate throwing up." He said.
"Colby, let's get you to my bed and you can lay down."
"I don't really want to, but I guess I can."
He left the bathroom and went towards my bedroom upstairs and crashed onto my queen-sized bed, looking sickly in the face once more.
"I'm sorry that I threw up." He apologized, "That wasn't polite of me to get drunk after getting to know you lately."
"It's not your fault, Colby. You got drunk and it'll make anyone throw up during a hangover. It's something you couldn't help, and I don't mind you drinking."
"I appreciate it. Anyways, what happened while I was drunk, Katherine?"
I froze after he asked me what happened from a few hours ago. I didn't want to tell him about the incident back at the bar in front of Jon, Brianna, and I. What if he was just in the heat of the moment?
"Well, I..."
"Katie, please spill it to me. What happened?" He asked me in a serious tone of voice.
"Okay." I took a deep breath and allowed the air to escape from my mouth. "I'll tell you."
