Chapter 15) Pure Happiness

A few hours later, Colby wanted to take me out somewhere while Joe, Jon, and Brianna lounged around my house. It was completely fine with me and I insisted on leaving with him after getting dressed.

"Ready to go, babe?" He asked.

"I'm excited!" I replied, "Where are we going?"

He smirked, "You'll see, Katherine. I'd rather not spoil the surprise."

We drove to a private place that had a beautiful scenery. Colby and I sat on top of a hill and I watched as he pulled out a picnic blanket and brought some champagne and snacks for the both of us while we were alone.

"Ms. Katherine." He smiled. "Would you want to have brunch with me?"

"Of course, why wouldn't I?" I chuckled.

Colby pulled out two glasses from the back of his Lamborghini and poured a small amount of champagne into it while looking over at me with a smile on my face.

"Hey, since I'm finally your boyfriend. I just wanted you to know that you're the best thing that's ever happened to me." Colby said, smiling.

"You're the best thing that's ever happened to me too, Colby."

While we sat down and ate some snacks, drank some champagne, and sat together on a picnic blanket on top of a hill that shown a beautiful sight full of nature and with nobody around, I felt nothing but happiness. I was finally spending it with someone with whom I could finally say that I loved.

It was silent for a few minutes and Colby started to break the silence, wrapping one arm around me and looking around the scenery with me.

"This is so good. I tell you, I wasn't expecting this." Colby said with a smile, fixing his hair.

"Neither was I."

"I'm sorry if I've ever pressured you into being with me in the past, Katherine." He apologized.

"You never pressured me, Colby. I just felt like the time was right and I needed to put the past behind me because there was more to life than worrying about history repeating itself."

"You never have to worry about me, babe."

Colby pulled me in closer into his embrace and I rested my head on his shoulder.

"I'm glad that I don't need to worry anymore." I smiled.

"Also, about what happened a month ago between us..." Colby paused, staring at me with admiration.

"What about it?"

"Well, I don't know how you truly felt about that moment between us back at your house when we made love for the first time. We've never really talked about it after it happened and I just wanted to know your take on it."

"Personally, I loved it."

He smiled and planted a kiss on the top of my head.

"I'm glad I didn't make you nervous. I understand we were in the heat of the moment back then and I never, ever want you to think I only want you for sex. I want you for who you truly are, Katherine. You're beautiful, you have an amazing personality, and to tell you the truth, I'm thankful that Brianna introduced you to wrestling a few months ago. If it weren't for her, we wouldn't have known each other."

I smiled, "You're right about that. I have to truly thank her for everything that she's done. If it wasn't for her giving me small pep-talks about how I needed to get out more and give relationships another try and put the past behind me with Tony, I wouldn't be with you right now."

We continued with our conversation about each other and finished the rest of our brunch for the next hour before we started our drive back to my house.

Colby
After spending quality time with Katherine, we made our way back to her house to catch up with the boys and Brianna for the time being.

Katherine and I walked into her house and seeing Jon, Joe, and Brianna talking to each other on the couch while watching some television. But to my surprise, it was football and Joe was cheering on his favorite team.

"What's up, everyone?" I asked.

"Nothing much." Jon replied.

After an hour passed, we all were having a great time together and talking about our wrestling careers to the girls. I haven't felt this happy since I've become the WWE Champion a few months ago. Unfortunately, I had to work a match tomorrow night; thankfully, Katherine was going to be in the front row to watch me wrestle, just like she did in the beginning.

It was eight o'clock at night and the sky was beginning to darken outside. We all started feeling tired and had a busy day in store for all of us tomorrow. Katherine and I walked upstairs into her bedroom while Jon and Brianna stayed on the couch and Joe went into the guest bedroom for the night. When we made it to her bedroom, we both crashed onto the bed and looked awfully tired in the face.

Katherine
Today was amazing with Colby, Jon, Joe, and Brianna. I finally had the chance to get to know Joe and who he was behind Roman Reigns. I had the opportunity to see his beautiful wife and daughter on his phone while he had the biggest smile on his face.

Therefore, Colby and I finally made our way back into my bedroom and we crashed on the bed. However, I had forgotten that I had Colby's Mayday Parade wristband in the drawer of my nightstand and needed to give it back to him.

"Babe?" I say, turning my head to face him.

"What's up, sweetheart?"

"When you left about a month ago to wrestle, I realized you left this here." I opened the drawer and placed his wristband on his hand, "Your Mayday Parade wristband was lying on the floor when you left. You must have forgotten it, but I've kept it safe for you."

I watched as he placed the wristband back in my hand and started giving me another warm smile.

"I want you to have it, Katherine."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure. I don't really need it anymore and since it's something of mine, I wanted you to have it to think of me when I'm on the road for awhile; and when I can't be with you for a long period of time."

Shocked, I looked up at him with a smile that spread across my face and softly pressed my lips against his, and wrapped my arms around his shoulders while we sat down on the bed together.

"Thank you so much, Colby." I said.

Without realizing, I happened to feel a small tear falling down my cheek.

"It's no problem..." He stopped himself when he seen a tear come from my eye, "Katherine? Is something wrong?" He asked.

I remained silent until I felt his hand lifting my chin up to meet his eyes with mine.

"I'm just curious about something." He allowed a sigh to escape from his mouth, speaking in a deep monotone voice. "Has anyone ever given you something before in your past relationships? Like a small present or something just as small as a wristband?"

"To be honest with you, no." I shook my head.

"Was your only boyfriend before me that bastard?" He asked, frowning.

All I could do in that very moment was nod.

Colby
After Katherine said that I was her second boyfriend, it bothered me on the inside that her first boyfriend treated her poorly; and also done the unthinkable because he was tired of waiting to have sex with her after two-years. I couldn't put it into words when it came to how I truly felt on the inside that he's never even given her a small gift.

"I'm so sorry, Katherine. I..."

"Don't apologize. I should've told you everything right from the beginning."

"Hey, I'm here now. I'm not going anywhere, alright?" I said, comforting her in my embrace.

"Thank you, Colby."

Eventually after an hour passed, we both fell asleep together. I had to wrestle tomorrow night due to our house show and it made me happy to know that I could finally be the one to make Katherine happy after everything that she's been through.

I was determined to make her feel loved for the first time in her life.
