Chapter 80) It's Finally Over
We left the courthouse and all we could feel was a huge feeling of relief and nothing but happiness. Seth was finally thrown into prison for everything that he's done.
"It's finally over!"
"Yes it is, babe." He smiled.
We shared a kiss until his phone began to ring and Dean's name appeared on the screen to FaceTime.
"Wait right there babe. Let me take this call with Ambrose for a minute."
"Alright. I'm going to get a bottle of water and use the bathroom. I'll be back in five minutes!"
Roman
"What's up, bro?" Ambrose said.
"Guess what?"
"What?" He replied.
"Seth got thrown into prison!"
"No way, seriously?" He said with enthusiasm in his voice.
"Yes! The judge said that he's gonna be locked away for seven-years!"
"I just hope that Hunter and Stephanie don't try to bail him out. If they had any sense, they wouldn't; because of what he did to Ashley, and that would make them look like terrible people." Ambrose said.
"Knowing them, they'll most likely try. I believe the police station isn't going to allow that to happen. He's committed too many crimes already." I replied.
"You have a point, Rome."
"Where are you at?" I asked.
"Renee and I are over in Colorado for awhile."
"Why Colorado?"
"She wanted to explore some sights over here until we had to head back to work."
"Oh, well that's great! I'm just thankful that he's put in prison for the next seven-years. That finally gives me some time to finally be able to propose to Ashley comes WrestleMania." I grinned.
"Whoa man, are you serious?"
"Yeah, I am."
"I mean, she does remember everything again and Seth isn't around to cause any trouble. The only one we have to really worry about is Charlotte."
"Yeah, I forgot about that whore."
"I have a question Rome."
"Shoot."
"When do you plan on proposing to Ashley during WrestleMania? After your match or towards the beginning? I know you'll be the main event since you're facing Brock."
"After my match, and you're the only one who will know about this and not anyone else. Not my family, not our other friends, and especially not Ashley. I know I'm taking back the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Brock Lesnar and that would be the perfect moment to propose to my girlfriend at the end of my match."
"Dude, I better be the best man."
"You will be." I laughed. "Also, I'll be proposing right before the show goes off the air."
I talked with Ambrose for a few more minutes until I seen Ashley coming back to me after she bought herself a bottle of water. I quickly ended the call with Ambrose and smiled.
"Hey babe. Everything alright?"
"Yeah, everything feels more happier knowing that bastard is gone."
"Me too."
"Where do we go from here?"
"What do you mean?" I cocked an eyebrow.
"Since this whole Rollins ordeal is done and over with, do you want to see your family for awhile?" She asked.
"I'd love to but I actually wanted to ask you something, Ashley."
"What's up?"
"Well, we've been together for so long, and I just wanted to know how come I've never met your parents before?" I asked.
She paused. "When would you want to take the flight to Pensacola?" She then asked, changing the subject.
"Ashley, you're not answering my question." I said sternly while looking into her eyes.
"What question?" Ashley said, avoiding my question for the second time.
"About me not having the opportunity to meet your parents already?"
"Oh, that." She said, choking up.
"What's wrong?"
"I've never told you, but my parents aren't alive anymore. They passed away when I was only seventeen in a car crash because of a drunk driver. They suffered internal injuries and weren't able to be saved. After their death, I almost dropped out of high school, but I didn't and I had to live with my grandmother until I was financially stable and able to finally move out and start wrestling." She said with tears filling her eyes.
"Really?" I said with sadness in my face.
"Yeah." Ashley sighed. "I never wanted to open up about that small part of my life to you because it's one of the worst parts of my life, along with the trauma Seth put me through."
"I'm so sorry for your loss babe, but I'm not going anywhere."
"You promise?"
"I promise."
"I know they would love you for everything you've done for me the past year."
"You have nothing to worry about, Ashley. I'll make sure your parents are proud of me. Even though they're in Heaven."
Ashley pulled me into a hug and I wrapped my arms back into her embrace.
"Would you still want to see my family again because you asked?"
She nodded.
"Alright. We'll leave first thing in the morning."
Hours went by and we settled down in the hotel once again before making our flight back to Pensacola before I had to wrestle and prepare for WrestleMania. Seth Rollins was finally out of our lives for the next seven-years and everything started looking up for the both of us. After my shower, I caught her outside and standing at the balcony whilst looking up into the beautiful night sky.
I remained silent and slowly approached her with caution to see that she's been crying.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked.
"Nothing." She replied. "I'm just missing my parents right now."
"I'm sorry." I apologized, I sat her down on my lap with my arms wrapped around her from behind, allowing my chin to lay gently on her shoulder. "Your parents would be proud of you right now. You've overcome the odds when it came to Seth, and you managed to wake up after suffering two comas. That's the definition of a strong woman."
"You think so?"
I nodded, "I know so."
"I also feel terrible for not opening up about the loss of my parents when we first met. I just didn't know how to tell you."
"It's okay babe. I'm not mad at you for not telling me. I understand that it's a hard subject to talk about, but I promise that I'm not going anywhere." I pulled her even closer towards me for comfort.
Another few hours passed and we were almost slowly drifting off to sleep. At this point, I couldn't wait for WrestleMania while we finally closed our eyes for the night and drifted off to sleep before we made our way back to Pensacola, Florida the following morning.
