Chapter 8) Spending Quality Time

We went to the movie theater and sat down in our seats all the way in the back to avoid any interruptions among the fans. We waited for the movie to begin as we watched some small previews that were shown on the screen; and before I knew it, Roman looked at me with a warm smile on his face.

"Want me to get us some drinks?" He asked.

"Sure!"

He stood up and went to purchase the both of us a drink at the concession stand. While he tried, there was a few fans lining up for an autograph and a picture with him.

"Alright, alright. I'm about to be watching the movie! Give me some privacy, please." He politely said, asking them to leave us alone.

After a few minutes of struggling, Roman made his way back to our seats and handed me the small drink of Pepsi.

"I apologize for the long wait. I had fans who bombarded me back and forth until I took a picture with them." He sighed, "It's annoying."

"It's okay. I can tell it's annoying to have multiple people bother you when you're wanting to enjoy yourself like a normal person, huh?"

I quickly realized how Roman still looked drained in the face. He looked like he had massive insomnia and I had little-to-no understanding on what made him unable to rest. While we proceeded to watch the movie, he began yawning and his arm reached out as it rested against my shoulder.

"Enjoying the movie?" He asked.

"I am, you?"

"Yeah. I love that we're finally getting to do this together."

"I'm having an amazing time, Roman." I smiled, "Thank you for taking me out tonight."

"No problem, Ashley."

While we continued to watch the movie, I felt his hand trailing on mine as our fingers began to intertwine together. He attempted to remain oblivious to the situation until I leaned over and whispered in his ear, "Um Roman?"

"Oh! I'm sorry, do you want me to stop?"

"No, but why are you holding my hand?" I asked out of curiosity, "You've never done that before."

"Well, since the movie theater is a little cold in here, I thought your hands were cold, so I thought I'd hold your hand."

My face brightened up like a Christmas tree while feeling his fingers still intertwined with mine throughout the movie. When it ended, we made our way out and left the theater with smiles on our faces.

"That was a great movie. What do you want to do next?" He asked.

"Maybe get something to eat, what do you think?"

"Sounds good. Where to?" He asked.

"Honestly, I was thinking maybe McDonald's!"

He raised an eyebrow, "Don't you want to eat at a fancy restaurant? It's the least I could do."

"I'm always into fast food. Because we can eat whatever and then burn off the calories at the gym in the meantime. I love fancy food and all, but I wouldn't want you spending a hundred dollars on a small course meal. I think that's insane."

He chuckled, "Alright, if you want to get some fast food, we'll drive over there."

I've never went out to eat when it came to a fast food restaurant with another wrestler before. I've always taken myself, or a few of my ordinary friends, out to fast food restaurants in the past. This was definitely a new experience for me.

When we arrived, I sat down inside of the restaurant and noticed that people kept staring at the both of us sitting down at our tables.

"What's up?" Roman asked, knocking me out of my trance with the snap of his fingers.

I looked throughout the restaurant and whispered once again, "Um, there's people looking at us."

He slightly laughed and kept eating, "That's what happens when you're in the WWE; because you're known by almost everyone from around the world. Pay it no attention, Ashley."

I'm still new to this business, and I feel like it's going to be about a year until I'm used to everything. New lifestyle, new friends, and new co-workers to be around. Soon, I'll be almost like Roman and Dean with the paparazzi in the public eye, and I'll be used to this lifestyle. Until then, I needed to get used to the change.

After leaving the restaurant an hour later, we headed back to the hotel. It was beginning to get dark outside and we had to rest up for a house show tomorrow night in Indiana.

"Thank you for tonight, Roman. I appreciate everything that you've been doing for me lately."

"You're welcome." He smiled. "I'm glad that you're happy, that's all that truly matters."

I smiled, "I'm going to get some rest. I'll see you later!"

Everything went dead silent. I was about to walk back into my room until I felt him gently grabbing my hand with a look of concern written all over his face.

"Ashley, wait."

He remained silent.

"Is everything alright?" I asked.

The silence started to fill the hallway of the hotel. I watched him slowly lean forward and felt his lips crash onto mine. His hands were gently holding onto my waist while feeling the stubbles from his facial hair colliding around my lips.

I was surprised that this was happening between the both of us, but I didn't want him to stop. In fact, I was enjoying every second of this.
