Chapter 60) The Authority Always Wins

Roman
The moment I dropped off Ashley to spend time with Dolph, I began to slightly worry about her because she's been through so much and I'm terrified to see her get into a third coma. Since Dolph was one of my trustworthy friends, I felt like leaving Ashley with him would ease my worries.

I met up with Ambrose and his girlfriend as we went into the car and drove over to the arena for the show tonight. I picked up the phone and called Dolph.

"How's Ashley doing right now?" I asked.

"Ashley's doing great! She's just talking to me about how we met and asking about how you were in the WWE. She misses you, man."

"I'm thankful that you're watching over her, Ziggler. It makes me feel better because I don't want to see Ashley go through another coma, let alone be in danger like she once was."

"Don't worry man, she's safe with me. I wouldn't let Seth or Charlotte get their hands on her. They would have to get through me first."

I chuckled, "Great."

"Well, I had a very special surprise in store for Ashley. It's something that would make her happy after everything that's happened to her."

"Sounds nice, what is it?"

"Can't say because you might tell her." I laughed.

"I wouldn't tell Ashley anything!"

"I swear if you ruin the surprise, Ziggler." I said sternly.

"I won't, I promise!"

"When I come back after the show, I'm taking her out somewhere and I believe she may remember the place. I want to help jog her memory a little; in hopes she'll regain her full memory back."

"That sounds exciting! I'll see you when you come back after SmackDown!"

SmackDown - March 5, 2015

When the show started, they shown footage of Brock Lesnar as everyone wondered if I was truly capable of beating him at WrestleMania and taking back my WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

I was sitting down and I heard knocking from the door. I opened it to seeing Byron Saxton with a microphone in his hands.

"Here we go again." I sighed.

"Roman, we just saw what Brock Lesnar's capable of and we also heard the comments Paul Heyman had about you this past Monday on Raw. What's your reaction?" Byron asked.

I chuckled, "You do know Paul Heyman's made a living out of running his mouth and lying, right? But there was one piece of truth that he put out there. Brock Lesnar's going to hurt me at WrestleMania and I couldn't agree more. Look at him. Everyone who's stepped in the ring with Brock, they either get hurt, or they get taken out. Look what he did to the Undertaker. Look what he's done to John Cena. So, I'm going into this knowing I'm gonna feel a whole bunch of pain and I'm probably gonna get hurt. But I'm also going into this knowing I'm going to take out everything Brock can dish out. Everything that's made him the Beast Incarnate. And when he's given me everything he's got, I'm gonna stand up. I'm gonna lock and load and I'm gonna hit him right on the button and when those knees are shaking and his legs are wobbly, I'm gonna cut him in half with a spear and I'm gonna win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Whether Brock or Heyman want to or not, they will believe that."

"Alright. Thank you."

"No problem." I shook his hand before he left the room.

There wasn't any other plans for me to have a match tonight and I didn't understand. No matches, no segments, or promos besides that small interview with Byron. I assumed that Hunter and Vince wanted me off the show for the night. I needed some answers.

"Come in!" Hunter shouted from behind the door.

I walked into his office to seeing him sitting his leather black chair with a smile on his face.

"What can I do for you, champ?" He asked.

"Hunter. Why am I not on the show tonight besides that interview?"

"Roman, we figured that we'd give you the rest of this time off. To recover, to relax, to think."

"What do you mean by that? I wanted to fight tonight. I came to work as asked and I want an opponent for tonight!"

"I'm afraid I can't let you." Hunter laughed.

"Why not?"

The door shut and I watched Seth make his way into the office with a devious smile on his face.

"Roman!" He cackled.

"What do you want, Rollins?"

"I assume you've been trying to keep Ashley away from me, huh?"

"Why does it matter?" I scoffed, "You're a terrible person for how you treated her. I just came in here to ask Hunter on why I didn't have a match tonight."

"Oh, but I did what I had to do to The Shield and Ashley because it's best for business."

"You're an idiot. Are you blind? They're just using you to make money and to make the authority become more in power. You're nothing but a sellout to the authority and someone who only thinks of nobody but himself. You're disgusting. Not only that, but you also broke Ashley's heart." I said, furrowing my eyebrows.

"I suppose that she's told you about our childhood together?"

"Yeah, before you and Charlotte put her into that coma that could've killed her. You're nothing but a worthless, heartless piece of shit along with Charlotte for what you've done to her. I want you to stay away from her. I've told you countless times to leave her alone because she doesn't want anything to do with you, Rollins!"

"Roman, it would be best if you left." Stephanie insisted.

"No! Right now, this isn't about my match. You both were in on this and I know it because Ashley said you two came into the hospital room with her; and Seth and tried to make her join the authority! Why would you attempt to manipulate someone who just woke up from a coma and is currently struggling to remember who she is?" I shouted.

"Oops! You caught us!" Hunter said sarcastically with a smile.

"I suggest all of you back off and leave my girlfriend alone."

"Girlfriend?" Seth laughed. "So it seems that the almighty Roman Reigns and Ashley Kay have become an item once again? Adorable!"

"Maybe. Maybe not. It's none of your business to know about what goes on between us."

"Well, if you don't give us the answer that we want, maybe we should beat it out of you." Seth said.

"You don't have the balls to lay a finger on me."

"Maybe not the three of us, but we have someone else who just might." Hunter chuckled.

I scoffed, "And exactly who are you talking about? Ryback or Kane?"

"Think again." Stephanie said.

"Hello, Reigns."

A voice emerged from behind and I seen Big Show behind me. He hit me in the back of the head with a steel chair and grabbed me by the hair and threw punches towards my face. I groaned in pain and realized I started to bleed out of my nose.

"You son of a bitch!"

I felt this huge amount of adrenaline coursing through my veins. I stood up and threw a punch into Big Show's nose and realized the blood pouring from both of his nostrils. I glanced over behind me to seeing Seth and Hunter holding my arms back as Big Show walked towards me and started ramming the steel chair into my stomach, almost close to where I had my hernia surgery last year.

"You think that's going to stop me from keeping you all away from Ashley?" I looked up at Big Show while struggling to stand up once more while both of my arms were still being held against my will from Seth and Hunter.

"You need to step down because the authority always wins in the end; and we always get what we want because we're the ones in power." Stephanie said.

I felt another hard object hit me in the back of the head as I fell to the ground and blacked out. What was happening to me? My vision grew blurry. I seen nothing but darkness and I felt weak and injured to my body; unable to move and unaware of my surroundings. After that, I blacked out.

Dolph
After the show, I realized that we haven't seen Roman since the interview about Brock Lesnar. It wasn't like Roman to not let anyone know where he was. I paced around the room, holding my phone in my hand. Should I call him or should I wait and see if he would arrive back at my place? Without thinking twice, I picked up the phone and dialed his number and it sounded like his phone was turned off.

"Sorry, the person you've tried to call is unavailable. At the tone, please record your message." The operator said.

"What the fuck is going on?" I panicked.

"Roman. I don't know exactly where you are, but you need to call me because Ashley and I are concerned. You should have called us hours ago after SmackDown went off the air."

Ashley stepped back into the room, "Dolph? Is Roman on the phone?"

I shook my head, "No."

"Where is he? I thought he would've been back by now to see me." She said.

"I have no idea where he's at, Ashley. I may have to call Dean and see if he knows where Roman's at. I have no other choice."

I picked up my phone again and called him.

He picked up the phone.

"What's up, Zigs?"

"Dean, have you seen Roman lately?" I asked.

"To be honest with you, I don't know where Rome's at. The last time I seen him was before the show after we left from the gym."

"Are you kidding me right now?" I panicked.

"What's going on right now?" He asked.

"Dude, he was supposed to call Ashley and I after SmackDown to tell us when he's coming back."

"Really? That's not like him to not let anyone know where he's at. I'll try to call him and see-"

I interrupted him, "Dean, his phone is turned off because I've tried that already and it immediately sent me to a voice operator to send a voice message to him."

"Are you serious? We need to find out where he's at and fast."

"I'm going to take Ashley with me and we're going to look everywhere for him. I forgot where SmackDown was held tonight, what state?"

Dean replied, "Washington, D.C."

"I guess we're heading out to Washington, D.C., Ashley."

"That's fine with me. I'm just worried about him."

"I know you are. We all are."

"I'm coming with you both." Dean said.

We hung up the phone and I took Ashley with me. We packed our stuff into the back of my car and we traveled to Washington D.C.

Arriving to the state, I received a text from Dean and he had Renee in the car with him. I waited for half an hour for him to arrive and he pulled up next to us inside of the nearest and empty parking lot.

"I apologize for getting here late. I had to pick-up Renee. Let's find out where Roman's at."

We made it to the arena and nobody was in sight. We went to open the doors and they were locked.

"Fuck." I said underneath my breath.

"I got you, buddy." Dean said.

He reached into the pocket of his jacket and pulled out something small to unlock the door. Dean somehow managed to unlock the door and we were all in shock.

"Nice, dude!"

We walked around the darkened arena with a small flashlight in our hands. We realized that we had seen Roman's locker-room from afar. It seemed to be locked. I watched as Dean pulled out the small object again and unlocked his locker-room door. We slowly opened it to seeing his duffel bag and backpack lying down on the floor. He had some of his shirts scattered all over the ground, along with his black and white vest, but there was no sign of him anywhere.

Where was Roman?
