Chapter 56) She's Awake!

I was excited to know if Ashley was doing better after awakening from her coma. I really missed her voice and I couldn't wait to see her within a few hours of driving back to the hospital after Raw ended.

After Eva parked her car into the parking lot, I quickly stormed into the hospital with the biggest smile on my face and asked to see Ashley Kay at the front office.

"Right this way, Mr. Anoa'i."

They assumed that I had forgotten where her room was, but I remembered it from the back of my hand. Making my way into her room, I turned the doorknob and I seen her sitting up and scanning around the room with confusion on her face.

"Hello, Ashley." I smiled.

"Who are you?"

My smile faded and I felt my heart beginning to drop after hearing those three words. Ashley had forgotten who I was and it made me feel upset on the inside. Heartbroken, I buried my emotions for her.

"I'm Roman Reigns, your ex-boyfriend."

"You're my ex?"

"Yeah. We had a dispute and you were wanting to wait until WrestleMania to give me an answer whether or not you wanted to become my girlfriend again."

"I don't remember that, but it's nice to meet you."

"Yeah, it's nice to meet you too."

I looked down at the ground with my hands inside of my pockets. I heard Ambrose and Eva making their way into the room. I felt speechless after what happened and I looked at them with full of sadness in my eyes.

"Whoa, what's wrong with you?" He asked.

"We need to talk, Ambrose."

I walked out with him so Ashley didn't have to hear us talking about her memory loss.

"Is Ashley doing alright?"

"Yeah, she's okay."

"Then why are you sad? I thought you were happy to see her, Rome."

"I am, but she doesn't remember who I am."

Ambrose looked at me with sadness on his face.

"Remember? The doctor said her coma was severe and could cause memory loss."

"I know, I know." I sighed. "I just want her to regain her memory back. I want the old Ashley back."

"I'm sure over the course of time, she'll remember who we are."

"And what if she doesn't?" I asked.

"I know she will remember everything sooner or later. Just give her time, Rome."

We heard the door opening and seen Eva coming out from behind us.

"Ashley forgot about you too, Roman?" Eva asked.

I nodded, "Mhm."

I wasn't the only one that Ashley had forgotten about, but it still bothers me how she forgot about the man she loved and now her two best friends.

I shook my head in disappointment and seen Eva on the verge of tears.

"I'm going to do whatever it takes to help her remember who she truly was, and to also remember who we are." I said before entering the room.

I opened the door to seeing Ashley looking upset.

"Hey, Roman." Ashley looked at me.

I sat down next to her with sadness in my eyes at her bedside. "Hey."

"I know you possibly remember everything about me and when I woke up. The doctor said that I had lost my memory because I didn't remember being admitted here. He said I was almost out for a month and since you claim that you're my supposed ex-boyfriend, can you help me remember who I am?"

"Sure." I sighed, "I'll be more than glad to oblige."

When we left the hospital a few hours later, I crashed with Ambrose for the night because this entire situation was tearing me apart to where I was heartbroken. I couldn't be in this situation for SmackDown on Thursday.

"Look Roman, she will remember us someday." Ambrose attempted to reassure me.

"She said I was her supposed ex-boyfriend earlier. What if she thinks I'm just making up stories and then she believes someone else?"

"I don't think that's going to happen. I feel like Ashley will remember us before WrestleMania hits around the corner."

"I hope you're right."

Ashley
I remember waking up at the hospital with a doctor standing next to me. He had a smile on his face. He said that I was finally awake from my coma, but I didn't remember being admitted into the hospital. He assumed that I lost my memory over the course of time and said I was in a deep coma for about a month and a half.

I remember sitting up in my bed looking around the room in confusion. That is, until I seen a tall man with long, jet black hair down his shoulders with a tribalistic sleeve tattoo, black vest with military pants, combat boots on his feet walking in with a smile on his face. I felt like I remembered him but I couldn't put the pieces together on who he was.

"Hello, Ashley."

This man felt like a complete stranger to me and I looked at him, "Who are you?" I remember the moment I asked who he was, his smile faded and he looked like his heart had been shattered. Who was this man? Why do I feel like I remember him?

"I was your ex-boyfriend." He said.

My ex-boyfriend? Something wasn't right because I definitely felt something for him, but I couldn't remember him clearly. I watched him leave the room like he was about to cry.

I then watched as a beautiful woman with long, red hair walked into the room after he left and was excited to see me. "Ashley!"

"I'm sorry, but who are you?" I asked, frowning.

"You don't remember me?"

"I'm really sorry. I was told I lost my memory and I'm having a hard time remembering everyone." I apologized.

"My name is Eva Marie. We met at the NXT Performance Center."

"NXT Performance Center?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah! You helped me become a better wrestler in the ring."

"I did? I'm a wrestler?" I asked with shock.

"You're a wrestler in the WWE. You're loved by millions and everyone misses you."

"I-I'm famous?"

She nodded and looked at me with sadness.

"Please, excuse me for awhile." She began choking up in her voice and left the room.

"You need to rest for awhile." The doctor said.

"Okay."

Eva and Roman didn't come back. I assumed that the doctor told them to leave for awhile. I felt guilty for not remembering them. I must've been close to the both of them before I lost my memory.

Later in the night, I sat up in my bed and I started crying because I had no idea what was happening until I heard the door opening. It wasn't Roman, Eva, or the doctors; but it was a man who was tall with two-toned hair; black and blonde, and had a scruffy beard who walked in and sat next to me with a smile on his face. Something seemed very off about this guy.

"Hey, Ashley."

"Who are you?"

"I'm your boyfriend, Seth Rollins."

"Boyfriend? If you were my boyfriend, I would've felt something for you for all I know."

"Are you saying you don't feel anything for me anymore?" He looked upset.

I shook my head. He didn't feel like he was my boyfriend. I only felt different when Roman was around me, but this mysterious man named Seth? I didn't think so.

"Seth, I don't remember you or anybody else."

He quietly cackled while wrapping an arm around me and pulling me close, kissing my forehead.

"You're my girlfriend. I remember seeing you get hit in the ring and you blacked out. You was in a coma ever since." He frowned. "It really hurt me seeing you in that condition and I cried all day and night, wondering if you were going to wake up and you're finally awake. I've missed you so much, Ashley."

Something still didn't feel right about him. My suspicions grew once more and I began to feel a terrible vibe coming from him.

"I feel like you're lying to me." I said, bluntly.

"I wouldn't lie to my beautiful girlfriend now, would I?"

"I mean-" I looked down at my feet from across the bed.

"I love you." He said.

I refused to respond and his eyebrows furrowed.

"Ashley, there's something you should know."

"What's there to know?"

"Well before you went into your coma, you were part of the authority."

"The authority?" I said, confused.

"Yeah." He said with a devilish grin. "You were powerful, independent, and very strong."

"I was?" I said in confusion.

"Mhm, I recruited you before you went into your coma."

I had a hard time believing in what Seth was telling me until he pulled out a small bag from his duffel bag with four pairs of black gloves, some that happened to be his, and then I seen two others which could've been mine in his duffel bag.

"These were yours." He handed me two small black gloves and he looked at me with a warm smile.

I heard the door opening and I seen another man and woman approaching me.

"Hello there, Ashley!" Said a man who didn't have any hair on his head, but worn nothing but a business suit and pants on him with small stubbles on his beard.

"You look beautiful right now!" A random woman hugged me with a huge smile on her face.

"I'm sorry?"

"I didn't mean to come off as rude, but allow me to introduce ourselves. My name is Stephanie McMahon and this man right here is my husband, Triple H, but you can call him Hunter." Stephanie said.

"What's happening?" I asked.

"Didn't Seth tell you? You were part of the authority just like the three of us."

"I really can't remember if I was or not."

"You were. You're such a powerful part of the authority and on SmackDown this upcoming Thursday, we would love for you to make your first appearance on TV after a month of being out of action!"

"I don't know if I should until I know I can remember everything. You see, when I woke up, there was a man named Roman Reigns who came to see me first before anyone else and he said I was his ex-girlfriend. He looks like he really loves me."

"You see, Ashley. Roman Reigns is nothing but a liar, a manipulator; and he doesn't care about anything but himself. He's vindictive and egotistical."

"So, you're telling me that he lied to me about loving me?"

I looked down and I was about to shed a tear. I felt Seth's hand intertwining with mine.

I watched the three of them nodding while tears fell from my face. Why was I crying over Roman? I felt like he was telling me the truth, but everything was confusing me at this point. My brain was starting to go into overload.

"Baby girl, I can reassure you that everything's going to be okay. I'm right here." Seth said.

"Can I please be left alone tonight? I want to go to sleep."

"Alright, Ashley. We care about you and we'll see you soon." Hunter left the room with Stephanie.

"I'll see you soon, Ashley." Seth said, planting another small kiss on my cheek.

I watched everyone leave the room. When I was finally all alone, I started to break down into tears after everything that's happened.

I felt terrible because I didn't know if I was being told the truth, or being fed a bunch of lies after waking up from my coma. I didn't have feelings for Seth, but I definitely felt something for Roman. I didn't know why I was feeling all of these mixed-emotions, but I wanted the truth once and for all.
