Chapter 42) It Happened So Fast
Devastated. Emotional. Depressed.
Those were the only things that I could feel right now. I've worked for that title for years on end, and I lost it just like that; in the hands of the authority. Hunter had this planned, along with Stephanie and Vince. I didn't know how Ashley or Ambrose would take this loss.
I walked backstage and kept letting out sighs. I tied my hair back until I felt a hug from behind me. It was my girlfriend.
"Hey, Ashley." I said quietly.
"I seen what happened babe. I'm so sorry."
"It's not your fault, Ashley. I thought I could've beaten him, but the authority knew I was exhausted and weak after my match with Kane, and the brawl with Daniel."
"Man, I'm terribly sorry for what just happened." Ambrose looked at me with sadness in his eyes, he knew how much this championship meant to me.
"Not your fault, Ambrose."
"Do you want to be alone with Ashley or?" He asked.
"Nah, you both are good."
I sat down at a bench and sighed as my long, jet black hair covered my face while I looked down at my feet. I feel like someday I will win the title back; until then, I needed to reflect and remember I had a match against Daniel on Sunday for Fastlane.
"Hey, maybe we can take you out somewhere if it makes you feel better." Ashley insisted.
"Sure."
We drove out to a restaurant and we ordered some spaghetti and some other food. To be honest, I didn't feel like eating after my loss tonight with my championship. I knew I needed to eat if I still wanted to compete for SmackDown on Thursday and Fastlane. Everything about Fastlane has me nervous; however, with the support of my girlfriend and my best friend, I'm thankful to have them in my life along with Renee, with whom I consider a sister.
The waiter brought us our food and I remained quiet for a short period of time until Ashley looked at me with a worrisome expression on her face.
"Ro, are you feeling better?"
"I guess. Why?" I looked at her.
"I just wanted you to know that I still love you; championship or not."
"Thanks, babe. I love you too." I warmly smiled.
While eating, Ambrose came back and brought us some wine and poured it into our glasses. It was nice to have two people I genuinely care about being here for me tonight. I didn't know I was losing my championship tonight; in which made me feel confused. The look that Hunter had on his face before my match against Kane was suspicious; not to mention how I've been dealing with the authority ever since Seth turned his back on The Shield about a year ago and became a sellout to the authority.
Ultimately, I started feeling better as we drank some wine and ate some late night dinner after the show. Ashley and Ambrose always knew what made me feel better and we held conversations about when Ambrose and I used to be on the road together before Ashley came into my life.
"Anyways Ashley, you should have seen the look on Roman's face when I would sing in the car with him. He looked so annoyed but I didn't care."
"Ambrose." I chuckled.
"Catherine Zader Jones! She dips beneath the lasers!" Dean sung quietly.
"Ha-Ha! That's great!"
I was already feeling much better as time went on and spent it with the two closest people in my life.
After we finished eating dinner, we made it to the hotel and went back inside to rest for the night and so I could spend some time with Ashley alone.
I took a shower before Ashley did. When I was finished, she went in and I checked my phone, opening up Twitter and seen Sheamus bragging how he took away my championship; as a matter of fact, I started laughing and I had a feeling I was going to win it back someday.
"I'm back, Ro."
"Hey, I've missed you." I pecked her lips.
"I missed you too, are you feeling any better?"
"Very. I know someday I'm going to win back my WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and I know I will beat Daniel Bryan on Sunday and main event WrestleMania."
"That's great! That's the spirit!" She smiled.
Ashley started to yawn and I knew that she was starting to get tired for the night. She laid against my chest and I kissed the top of her head. This woman meant the entire world to me and I couldn't wait to marry her someday.
"Thank you for everything, Ashley."
"I always want to see you happy. I love you so much."
"I love you too. Want to get some sleep?"
"I'd love that. Goodnight, Ro."
I smiled at her as she closed her eyes and fell asleep in my arms. Ashley, along with my best friend, has helped me so much throughout everything; and from now on, I was more than determined to beat Daniel at Fastlane and one day reclaim my WWE championship and main event WrestleMania.
