Days have passed while Ashley was beginning to feel better. I made sure she was doing alright every second of everyday while taking her out shopping for new clothes and some jewelry. We had to prepare for SmackDown the next day as we went to the gym and began working out afterwards. 

SmackDown - January 29, 2015

After what happened during Raw a few days ago, Triple H decided on rambling about the Royal Rumble and I stood backstage and listened to him speak on the microphone. He was very opinionated; if you will, about my victory being nothing but a controversy; because I happened to win this years Royal Rumble.

"Controversy happened at the Royal Rumble. If you don't know what I'm talking about. If somehow you missed it, let's take a look at the controversy right now."

The titantron showed a replay of the Royal Rumble as The Rock came out to save me after I eliminated Kane, Big Show, and Rusev.

"Monday night on Raw, I am gonna put an end to the controversy. Monday night, I am gonna make an announcement that will likely shake the WWE Universe to its core." Triple H said.

I felt like he, along with the authority, were only inches away from attempting to strip away my main event moment at WrestleMania. I worked hard to win the Royal Rumble match and successfully defended my WWE Championship. Just as Vince McMahon wanted. I walked into the ring to confront him while my eyes locked onto his.

"You keep talking about controversy, Hunter. I don't see any controversy. I won the Royal Rumble match." I glared at him, "So, that means I'm going to WrestleMania." I said once again.

"Indeed, you did win that match. Let's see if you win this one." He said.

The Big Show came out while Triple H left the ring and headed backstage. I turned my head in mere disappointment. I was getting annoyed of the authority trying to screw me over after I had won the Rumble.

Big Show tossed me onto the canvas and I began having trouble getting up. I punched him in the head countless times while I stood on the ropes. Later in the match, I began kicking him in the ribs repeatedly. He shoved me and my frustrations grew once more. I cocked my fist in for the Superman Punch and he tried to attempt the Chokeslam like Kane attempted a few days ago.

I picked him up and performed the Samoan Drop while I watched him cowardly roll out of the ring. Picking him up caused some damage to my leg. I fell down and groaned in pain. I held onto my leg, but I couldn't allow myself to lose this match. I stood up and went for another Superman Punch and he grabbed my throat. Before I knew it, I was Chokeslammed onto the canvas as he went for the pinfall and I kicked out at two.

The sudden realization kicked in and I glanced over around the ring. Big Show was climbing on the top rope, and I hit him with another Superman Punch. I picked him up and tossed him onto the canvas. I started heavily breathing due to the pain shooting throughout my leg. I quickly prepared for the Spear and from there, I successfully ran into him and pinned him for the win.

Even though I was happy about getting the pinfall, I held onto my leg as the pain began to worsen, hurting once more having to pick up Big Show twice during the match. He weighed over three-hundred pounds and there's only so much a man can lift. However, I began slowly picking myself up, moving the hair from my face while I was able to stand on both of my feet while walking backstage, and still feeling the pain worsening around my leg with every step I'd take.

I went to the backstage to the WWE Medical Staff and got my leg checked out. I winced in pain while holding onto it. While I picked up Big Show, I caused a small amount of damage to my leg from all of the weight I lifted. I was told to take a few days off of work to recover and that my leg would slowly recover. In which meant no house shows, but I'd still be able to come to work on Monday and Thursday like normal. Even though Seth was too busy with Ryback tonight, I had no other choice but to wait on putting him in the hospital due to my slight injury and went to check on my girlfriend.

Upon seeing Ashley, she approached me from afar as she noticed that I was limping after everything that transpired from earlier.

"Oh my gosh, Roman! Are you okay?"

I groaned, "Yeah, I'm okay. I'm just a little injured after picking up Big Show and tossing him around twice."

"Did you visit the Medical Staff? I can go and get them if you want."

I shook my head, "I already did. They want me to rest for a few days in hopes that my slight injury will recover."

"I hope it recovers quickly. I don't want to sound selfish in this situation, but are we still meeting your family tomorrow in Pensacola?"

"Of course, baby. I'm not going to allow my little injury to keep us from taking a flight there. Maybe then I can get some rest and you can meet my family all at once."

"I'm honestly very excited to meet them, Roman. I'm sure they're incredible people, and to meet them is going to be quite the experience!" She smiles, "I'm still somewhat nervous, too."

"Don't be nervous, Ashley. I've told you this before, but my family will love you unconditionally. You make me happy; therefore, they'll approve of you."

"We'll just have to wait and see."

Silence filled the room for a minute until she started to speak, "Roman? Do you want me to take you to the hotel? I can drive us back."

"I'd love that, babe. I should heal a lot more in the morning, if I'm fortunate enough."

"I'm sure you'll heal-up quickly. It's just because you lifted more than you usually do; and that can cause injuries quickly. With some rest, you should be okay before Raw and SmackDown."

"You're the best, Ashley."

During the night, we made our way back into the local hotel and checked-in. While I still winced in pain from time-to-time regarding my slight discomfort, Ashley helped me throughout the night until we fell asleep.

Tomorrow was a big day for the both of us. She was nervous to meet my family, but she was becoming more confident with each passing day and not feeling as nervous to meet them.
