I wake up slowly. The woman was wiping my forehead.

"Hi?" I ask.

"You're awake." She smiles.

"Barely." I mutter.

"Is he awake dear?" The husband comes in,

"Hi. Thanks for not leaving me to die." I say.

"Of course, son." The husband smiles.

"Have some food." She hands me a slice of bread.

I take it. I bite into it.

"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you." I breathe out.

I don't remember the last time I ate bread. I don't remember the last time I had decent food. I've just survived on salted meat and cured vegetables. I'm pretty sure I lost at least ten pounds in the last two days or so.

"Goodness you must have been starving." She says.

"Yeah. Yeah." I nod.

"Come and have some dinner." She pulls me up.

I look around. I see one bed which I laid on. Curtains. A couple of chests. A table. A carpet.

"I'm sorry if I imposed." I say.

"Oh no. You saved our lives. The Gods should be thanking you." She smiles.

"The Gods? Heh... not likely." I look down.

Zeus just drowned me. The gods up there are useless. They don't care about humans. They just sit up in the sky and enjoy lavish parties. All they do is torment humans. They have brought so much destruction on me and my crew.

"Please sit." She smiles.

"Thank you." I say again.
