Well, Drago might be gone but there's one problem left. The alphas weren't going to let up anytime soon. Even with Drago's departure the alpha is still being challenged. How long did the challenger have to serve Drago? I don't know what I could do about it. The sun is coming out and I'll be burned to a crisp.  I move my hand up my cheek. It still burns. I wince. Toothless licks my shoulder.

I'm glad I turned to the light. I was blinded by anger and rage. This isn't what I wanted at all. I guess all I really wanted was to feel... empowered. I stand up. They can't do this alone. My family can't do this by themselves. My mother. My father. I get on Toothless.

"You ready?" I ask.

He growls and nods. We launch into the sky. I feel the sun burning my skin. I have to stay out of its rays. The clouds are my only saving grace. I come up to the alpha's however am I going to make them see reason? Then I see a chain around the challenger's tusks. I see the chains leading back into the water.

"I got it!" I yell.

Toothless nods and dives to the water. I jump down. I grab the chains. Whoa. They are heavy. I start pulling them toward the water. They're also made of silver which hurts. My hands were bleeding and burning. Toothless grabs the chains and starts pulling. It's like pulling a thousand ships. I fall to the ground. My muscles were breaking. My legs were getting weaker by the minute. I see the challenger moving now, slowly like a snail moving. I suck in a breath.

I then hear someone else pulling on the chains. I turn. Astrid.

"Hey, need a hand?" She asks.

"Yeah." I say.

"We're here Hiccup!" Fishlegs says.

"Really?" I ask.

"I just don't want to die." Snotlout says.

"This looks like fun." Ruff and Tuff say.

"Hey...uh- thanks." I say.

The others grab the chains and pull. I pull harder. The challenger turns and growls. I never thought I would ever gain anyone's trust again. But I have to work on this for a long time now. Trust. The Alpha sees his opening and slams his tusk into the challenger dragging him into the water. I let go of the chains. My hands were bleeding, and my skin was burning. Toothless stands up and shades me from the sun. Dad and Mom fly down.

"Mom?" I breathe.

She takes off her helmet.

"Hiccup." She hugs me.

"I think I owe everyone an apology." I say.

"No need for that son." He says.

"You're here that's what matters." Mom says.

I nod. I wrap my arms around them. I can't believe I almost destroyed this. This is beautiful. This is the best thing in my life. I can't let it go ever again. I'll fight for this as long as I have to now.

The end.
