I wake up slowly, well, I'm not sure if I was really awake but I felt something pecking at my skull. I felt something slamming into my leg over and over again. My nose fills with the salty air of the sea. I think... I'm not dead. I find the strength to complete the daunting challenge of opening my eyes. I see a bird looking at me. It's a crow. Am I really dead? It pecks at me again. I wince. It caws loudly and almost burns my ears. I look up and I see a dark gray sky. I see seagulls. I wince as I manage to crawl up, into a sort of sitting position.
I look around. This was a beach. Not a very golden beach. The sands were gray and looked like they were covered in ash. The air is coarse and very salt forward. I turn and find my other leg. I grab it and I tug it on. I'm not dead. That's a positive... I guess. I let out a breath as the sea comes up to my legs. I put my hand into it. I splash the cold water on my face. I hiss as it enters the bruises and my cuts.
"C'mon Hiccup." I say.
I wince as I pull myself up. I grip my burning chest. Did my organs slip out? I feel the wound. It feels bad.
"C'mon Hiccup." I mutter as I stare at the woods.
They look... depressing. There's this sickness in the air. The trees looked wrinklie and scalier than a dragon. There's this ominous feel in the air that crawls up my spine. The woods look dark and sick. The leaves were mossy as they trapped down. I draw back.
"Where am I?" I mutter.
"Do you want to know?" A voice asks.
