All his life he's been told

He'll be nothing when he's old

All the kicks and all the blows

He won't ever let it show

'Cause he's stronger than you know

A heart of steel starts to grow

---

The Ninja were holding the chain attached to the vehicle, hauling it to who knows where.

Cole groaned. ''My feet. I feel like they're gonna fall off.''

(Y/n) stood beside Wu, on the vehicle.

Jay sighed. ''Does this remind you guys of anything?'' He asked

Kai grunted. ''Like our time tortured in Dead's End?''

''No. When this all began. Just the four of us.'' Jay replied, turning to Kai. ''Hauling Master Wu to who knows where. Ha, ha.''

''Oh, yeah. When we got our Golden Weapons.'' Cole said, turning to Jay.

''Only now we're heading to the Dragon Armour, which is who knows where 'cause this little liar has us on a wild goose chase!'' Kai replied.

''We must have faith, Kai.'' Zane said. ''To turn back now would be death.''

''Yeah, no need to remind us.'' Said Cole.

''Why do you wear the mask?'' Wu asked Faith.

''That was Iron Baron's idea. He didn't want the others to know his greatest hunter was a woman.'' She answered. ''He forbade me to ever take it off.''

(Y/n) snorted.

''So the others don't know?'' Wu asked.

''Iron Baron has a way to control us all.'' She replied. ''It's either his way, or you are cast out. But when you find the armour, you can control Firstbourne. Then we can all leave this forsaken place.''

''And forsaken it is, indeed.'' (Y/n) agreed.

''That's right. I almost forgot.'' Jay said, letting go of his part of the chain. The others dropped theirs, and walked over to Faith. ''Dragons are the only creatures who can ferry between realms.''

''If we can find the Dragon Armour, we can get home.'' Zane replied.

''What is this place you call home?'' Faith asked.

''It's called Ninjago.'' Kai answered.

''Ninja-go?'' She said.

''A place where nobody forces you to wear a mask.'' Cole spoke.

''It's a beautiful place. At least it used to be.'' Wu said, hopping down from the vehicle. ''Before my brother soured it. Which is why we need to return. Can you tell me about my father?'' He asked Faith. ''Some things I remember. Some things I forget.''

''Every child in the First Realm knows the tale of the First Spinjitzu Master.'' She replied, smiling.

Because your father was both Oni and Dragon, he found a bond with the dragon mother, and she with him.

With her fire, and his metal, they forged the Dragon Armour.

Stories say he rode the magnificent beast.. But not with chains.

He would soar through the skies only with the respect they had for one another.

Together they sought to put an end to the devastating war,

''And unite the realm.'' She finished.

(Y/n) stopped using her illusions.

''Wow.'' Jay said in amazement.

''That is so cool.'' Cole said, picking up his part of the chain.

''But there were those who would never allow it.'' Faith spoke.

''Why?'' Wu asked.

''The Oni and Dragon have always been mortal enemies.''  She answered. ''And there are divides that cannot be bridged. Seeing there would be never be peace, your father was devastated. He took off his armour and left the First Realm forever. In hopes of finding the peace he was looking for.''

''That is something we are all still searching for.'' Zane said to Wu.

''And the Firstbourne?'' Wu asked.

''She remained behind faithfully guarding his armour.'' Faith replied. ''Waiting for the day of his return.''

''But he never came.'' Cole finished.

''Which is why you think Master Wu can find it.'' Kai said to Faith.

''Think? I know. Or we will die.'' Faith retorted.

''That's not the best thought...'' (Y/n) mumbled.

''Yeah. But do you have to keep saying that?'' Jay asked.

The group heard a thud, and turned around.

A bright light shone in the distance. ''Hunters.'' Faith said.

''We need to hide.'' Zane replied.

''Where? We're in a desert!'' Jay argued.

''Argh! I'd run away if my feet weren't so tired.'' Cole said, frustrated.

''Well I'm not going back without a fight.'' Kai said, hopping onto the vehicle and handing them their weapons.

''Put those weapons down and do exactly what I say. Quick! Put these on!'' She replied, throwing Cole a vengestone chain. He looked down at it, hesitant.

''Do it! If you want to live!'' She said, putting on her mask and hat.

''Live, ha ha.'' Jay chuckled. ''Now there's a word you'd like to hear more.''

The Hunters pulled up, with the dude with no legs and a hunter walked over.

''Aye! You caught them, Heavy-Metal!'' He exclaimed, coming over.

The Hunter mumbled something incoherently, while the dude with no legs listened.

''Yes, I know he knows that, Muzzle.'' He said to the Hunter. ''I was just paying him a compliment.''

''What do you want?'' Faith/Heavy-Metal asked.

''You can't possibly take them all back by yourself--''

''So you can leave.'' She interrupted.

Muzzle laughed.

''Well I can see we are not wanted. We'll just be on our way.'' He replied, walking back to his vehicle. ''I will tell the Baron of the good news.''

Muzzle turned around, recognizing Wu. He began mumbling incoherently while waving his arms around.

The dude with no legs turned around. ''Why, yes, he does look taller. But last time he was in a disguise.''

Muzzle began mumbling again.

The dude with no legs looked at Wu. ''Hold it right there!'' (Y/n) held in a breath. ''Until we can get all this figured out.''

Kai looked at the chains, before pulling on them.

The two Hunters fell on their backs. (Y/n) let out the breath she'd been holding in.

Soon, the dude with no legs saw two swords pointed at him. ''Or not.''

''Tie them up.'' Faith ordered. Jay and Cole grabbed the chains and tied the two unfortunate Hunters.

''You're a traitor!'' He said in disbelief. ''Iron Baron will have your head for this!''

The group climbed inside the vehicles, with the dude with no legs shouting after him. They then drove off, leaving them in the middle of nowhere.

''With your speeders, we'll have a running start.'' Kai said to the dude with no legs, before driving off with the others.

He shouted again, but they were already too far away to hear him.

Faith took off her mask and hat. ''Which way?'' She asked Wu.

''That way.'' Wu answered, pointing into the distance.

''And into the unknown.'' Kai said.

''And then, Ninja-ho!'' Faith whooped

---

The ninja had stopped for a break.

Jay sighed.

''I'm parched, and you drank my water.'' Kai complained, snatching the water from Jay.

''Your water? That's my bag.'' Jay replied, grabbing Kai from behind and attempting to grab for his water.

The two fought, while (Y/n) was next to Cole.

''Hey Cole, can I tell you something?'' (Y/n) asked.

Cole turned to her. ''Yeah?''

(Y/n) looked at her feet. ''I once saw an Oni.''

His face was filled with surprise. ''Really?''

She nodded.

''It all started in my village...''

It was a sunny day in the village. Kids played, with a small (h/c) girl trying to get the ball.

Suddenly, the ball was thrown over the rock that was the goal. None of the kids budged.

''I'm not doing it this time.'' Said a orange-haired girl.

''I agree, (Y/n), it's your turn!'' Said a boy with brown hair.

(Y/n) looked at where the ball went over, and sighed. ''Thanks, Terry.'' She mumbled, sarcastic.

Making sure none of the adults were looking, she climbed over the rock and looked for the ball.

A snarl made her turn around. Behind her, was a dark silhouette casting no shadows, for it was darkness itself. Its red demon-like eyes glowed, while its fangs dripped saliva. Its horns were short, but sharp at the end.

(Y/n) screamed, and climbed over the rock, sliding down without the ball in her grasp.

The others looked at her, confused as to why she hadn't returned with the ball.

''What? Little (Y/n) is too scared of the ball?'' The boy with brown hair mocked.

''And that was the day I saw an Oni.'' (Y/n) finished, and Cole gave her a hug.

''If you need anything, I'll be right here, okay?'' Cole replied, pulling out of the hug.

(Y/n) blushed, rubbing the back of her nape. ''Thank you.'' She mumbled.

''No problem.'' Cole said, giving her a smile.

Cole looked over at Wu. He then walked over to him, with (Y/n) trailing behind.

''You know, eventually, Master, you're gonna have to tell her you don't know where the Dragon Armour is.'' He said to Wu, referring to Faith.

''My father told me to have Faith, then we meet a person named Faith the same day. Not a coincidence.'' Wu replied.

''But that was a dream.'' Cole said. ''What if you're wong? What if there is no armour? What if you're leading us to-- To Something worse?''

''I choose to not focus on that.'' Wu replied.
