Into the dark below

Evading shadows

Blind in a rabbit's hole

We fall beneath the earth

---

Staring back at her, was the photo of her and her parents.

A young, (h/c) girl stood, smiling. A happy mother and father stood behind her, their hands on her shoulders.

However, when she tilted the photo, the girl slowly turned to a being of darkness.

An Oni.

The looks on her parent's faces were no longer happy, for they were filled with fear.

She then looked around. Cole was no longer there.

Suddenly, she felt a pain in her head.

Her eyes glazed over as the memory came to her.

Many, many years ago, the First Spinjitzu Master had escaped from the First Realm.

A young Oni was walking in a forest, near a village.

The Oni heard quickened footsteps, and its senses heightened.

He was here, the one Oni had found him.

Cornering him, the Oni looked at the First Spinjitzu Master.

He looked afraid, you could see the corners of his mouth tilt towards the ground when he found out he had no way to escape. His rice hat covered most of his face, preventing anyone from finding out who he really was.

''You are misguided, young one.'' He said in a faraway voice. ''You do not have to do this.''

Leaves crunched as the Oni stepped forward, its orange eyes narrowed.

He sighed. ''Alas, for I have to use my last resort.'' He spoke with sorrow.

The Oni looked at him with confusion.

''Sleep well young one, be free from the darkness that corrupts your heart.'' He said before everything went dark.

A young (h/l) (h/c) girl woke up in a forest. Looking at herself, she found her appearance strange.

There was an odd silence as if the birds had stopped singing and the leaves in the trees no longer swinging from their perch.

Suddenly, the quiet was interrupted as the girl heard voices cry out as the villagers heard a wolf call and a child.

Two silhouettes stood over her, before the light shone on their faces, revealing two others just like her.

''Come, child, here you will be safe.'' One said, gently taking her hand and helping her up.

The two strange creatures like her led her to the village.

From the shadows, stood a red-eyed creature with large fangs jutting out from the bottom jaw. Its sharp but short horns, with skin darker than the night itself, it had become the main monster in the (h/c) girl's nightmares.

But how could you be afraid of something that you are?

----

Jay and Kai were out on the deck, cleaning it with mops.

''So? Did you pop the question yet?'' Kai asked Jay.

''No. I'm waiting for the right time,'' Jay replied, turning to Kai.

''There might not be a right time, Jay,'' Kai said, turning away from him. ''You just gotta do it.''

''Do what?'' Cole asked, appearing and looking at Kai.

''Jay's going to ask Nya to be his yang.'' The Master of Fire answered. Jay looked at Cole.

''What? Seriously?'' He replied, excited. He flipped over the wood keeping the mast secure. ''That's great!'' He said with a smile. Cole then frowned. ''Why am I always the last person to know these things?''

''Shh!'' The Master of Lightning shushed the Master of Earth. ''Will you keep your voice down, please?'' Jay asked.

''He's been planning for weeks,'' Kai said.

''Weeks? Ha, ha! You just gotta do it, Jay!'' He replied, putting his hands on their shoulders. ''It's like ripping off an old bandage. The sooner you get it over with, the better.''

The two looked at him with disgust.

''Um. Did you just compare Nya to an old bandage?'' Jay asked. Cole then realised what he said.

''Nice. Way to go, Cole.'' Kai said. ''Way to take the romance out of it. Would you compare (Y/n) to an old bandage?''

Cole looked shocked. ''No!'' He shouted, before whispering. ''I would never.''

''All hands to the bridge,'' Zane said over the speakers.

The trio headed to the bridge, nearby leaning against the rail was Garmadon, looking at (Y/n).

(Y/n) herself was minding her own business, seeming like she was thinking.

''I don't get why he's looking at her,'' Cole whispered to Kai.

Kai did the 'I'm watching you' motion with his fingers towards Garmadon.

Garmadon cleared his throat, and the ninja went into their battle stances, with the exception of (Y/n).

''The Oni have entered this realm through a portal or rift between our world and theirs.'' He stopped leaning against the rail and stood up. ''There are only one or two ways this is possible, and I'm willing to wager, '' Garmadon paced. ''it would have been through the Realm Crystal.'' He turned to look at the ninja. ''To stop this darkness from spreading, the crystal must be destroyed.''

Thye heard clacking and beeping as Zane's hands began to press the buttons so quickly, they became a blur.

Finally finding what he was searching for, he looked at the screen. ''The Realm Crystal is currently housed in the new high-security vault below Borg Tower.''

Nya came over, looking at the screen. ''That's smack in the middle of Ninjago City!''

''Um, we just escaped from there, remember?'' Kai asked. ''It's engulfed in a giant black cloud of destruction! And now you're asking us to turn around and go back?''

''I ask nothing,'' Garmadon replied, a slight growl in his voice. ''I am telling you that if you wish to stop the darkness, the crystal must be destroyed.''

''And I'm telling you, forget it,'' Cole said, narrowing his eyes. ''Just one of those black cloud tentacle things nearly took (Y/n)! We wouldn't last a minute in the darkness.'' He finished.

''That is correct, you are merely human,'' Garmadon replied. He glanced at (Y/n). ''I, however, am Oni. I can enter the darkness, make my way to the crystal and destroy it.'' He brought all four of his hands together. ''I will, of course, require a weapon.''

''Hah! Fat chance.'' Cole spoke, pointing at the Lord of Darkness.

''Do you really expect us to just hand you a sword and let you go?'' Lloyd asked him.

''If you wish to live, yes.'' He replied.

''Well, forget it! No way!'' Lloyd said, crossing his arms. ''I wouldn't trust you with a... a... a..-''

''A pillow!'' Kai interrupted. The ninja looked at Kai, while Lloyd slowly turned his head to give him the 'really?' look. ''It's the most harmless thing I could think of.'' He said awkwardly.

''It's not going to happen! You're not going anywhere!'' Lloyd said, glaring at Garmadon. ''Not without me. I'm your son, remember? I'm Oni too.''

(Y/n) suddenly had a thought. 'Does that mean he's my half-brother?'

''No, you are part Oni,'' Garmadon replied. ''That means you might survive.''

''You are also part Oni, Garmadon.'' (Y/n) spoke, looking at him.

Everyone looked at her in surprise. She raised an eyebrow. ''What?''

Lloyd narrowed his eyes as he watched Garmadon walk away. ''Well, I guess we'll find out.'' The Green Ninja said.

When Garmadon was gone, everyone looked at (Y/n).

''How do you know that?'' Kai asked her.

''He told me.'' She answered, grabbing the photo out of her pocket.

Lloyd walked over to her and looked at the photo. She then tilted it, and his eyes widened.

''You can see it too?'' She whispered to him.

''You're... you're...'' Lloyd mumbled, backing away slowly.

She nodded.

The Green Ninja left the room, following Garmadon.

---

''Okay, why didn't you tell me about her?'' Lloyd asked him.

''Because she has not regained all of her memories,'' Garmadon answered.

''So what? You could've told me there was a full-blooded Oni on board!'' He retorted, narrowing his eyes.

''If you knew, your fear would keep you from completing your mission you are set out to do,'' Garmadon replied firmly.

Lloyd laughed. ''What fear? I don't have a fear of Oni!''

''You will, soon,'' Garmadon said, walking out of the room.

---

(Y/n) and Cole stood next to each other, looking at the sky.

''So, I heard you, Kai and Jay talking about some special ''yang'' thing? What's that about?'' (Y/n) asked him.

The Master of Earth's eyes widened. ''Sh!'' He said, putting a hand over her mouth. He looked around, sighing in relief when he didn't see the Water Ninja near.

He then slowly took his hand off her mouth.

''You gotta be quiet, just in case she walks in.'' He whispered.

''Who? Nya?'' (Y/n) asked.

Cole nodded. ''It's meant to be a surprise.''

''So,'' Kai spoke from behind Cole, making him jump.

''I'll just go.'' (Y/n) murmured, walking away.

Cole watched her leave, before turning to the Fire Ninja, narrowing his eyes.

''Why'd you do that?'' The Master of Earth asked.

''You're trying to find the perfect moment, huh?'' Kai asked.

''No I'm- How'd you know?'' Cole replied.

''I can tell,'' Kai said with a wink. ''I always get the ladies.''

Cole raised an eyebrow. ''And so far, you only have and need Skylor. Only one.''

Kai huffed. ''We barely talk, but when we see each other, we like to catch-up.''

The Master of Cake- I mean Earth rolled his eyes then turned to find (Y/n).

My mother is so annoying :/

It's coming...

Why didn't the dragons react when (Y/n) was near them?
