SUNDAY

Sani's P.O.V.

It was morning and we all were having breakfast. I was simply eating quietly while my mom was busy serving my elder sister.

"Have this honey, I made this specially for you." my mom said while passing the dish of kimchi.

I also really love kimchi so I was about to take it but my mom stopped me. "You can't have it Sani, I made this for your sister only." my mom said.

"Why? I want it! Am I not your child?" I said, raising my voice a bit.

"All you do is sleep and hangout with your friends." my mom said. "You're not doing anything profitable for this family. Your sister is working very hard so she deserves it."

I remained silent. I've never been the most important thing to anybody – not even to myself. The biggest disease today is not leprosy or tuberculosis, but rather the feeling of being unwanted.

I quickly finished my breakfast. "I am going to the academy, bye." I got up, took my bag and left.

AT THE ACADEMY

It's much fun to breathe in and out, I think everything is fun except studying. I don't think I would ever be able to be like my sister, she is a genius, and I'm the exact opposite. People say to 'trust yourself' but it's a simple statement that may seem impossible.

I'm in class listening as intently as I can whilst my professor runs through the lesson. He asks the class a question. I know the answer, but I don't raise my hand because my self-doubt tells me to chill out—it tells me I don't actually know the answer.

"Ok students, I hope you all do well. good luck for your upcoming exams."

"Thank you, sir." The students said at once.

Everyone started to leave, and just like them, I picked up my bag and left the academy, on my way back home.

Right now, I just wish everything will get patched up in our group and we all can be together like we used to.
