"I am going back to class; I'm not interested in playing anymore." Aisha said in a low voice.
Kisa's P.O.V.
We may have walked side by side, but there will come a time when we will drift apart. I can only hope and pray that it won't happen today.
End of P.O.V.
BIOLOGY CLASS
"I will hand over your test papers to you. You will then return them to me after going through and checking your marks." the teacher said.
"Whoa! Michael, you got 50/50." Jackson said in shock.
"Wow, Michael you did great." Narjis congratulated.
"Michael, can you please help me with the questions I did wrong." Sani said while looking at her test paper.
"Class, don't speak loudly, please. Madam is on her rounds, so behave. And Michael, can I speak with you for a second?" the teacher said.
Michael stood up and went to the teacher's desk.
"Did you cheat?"
"What?" Michael uttered in shock.
"Did Mia show you her answers?" the teacher asked, her tone serious.
"Miss, I didn't cheat." Michael said in defiance.
"Do you think that I'm an idiot? How can a kid who always gets a zero on his tests suddenly get full marks one day?"
"I studied miss! What's wrong with grown up these days? Why do you keep telling us to change even if you think we can't change? Don't pretend you are expecting more from us if you know nothing is going to change anyways." Michael protested and left the class.
"Class is over everyone." the teacher announced.
Students began whispering. "Michael cheated from Mia's paper, I thought he was a nice guy."
"I can't believe he would do that."
"I feel so bad for Mia, having someone just parasite over your hard work."
LUNCH TIME
"Hey! Michael, come on and eat. I know you're mad, we all understand." Kisa said softly.
"Whatever! I have lost my appetite." Michael got up, and leaving his food behind, he exited the cafeteria.
"We are your friends, Michael." Alizeh tried but he was gone.
"I am going too." Aisha stated. "Bye, see you in class." She picked up her lunch and went running after Michael.
He was sitting under a huge tree. "Here, Michael, take this." Aisha handed him a chocolate bar.
"These days, I don't know why people only expect the favourites to be the best at everything." Michael said sadly.
"I know exactly how you are feeling. Back when I wore contacts to school, all the other kids said I wasn't that kind of girl so I threw them out. If I hum a song or speak loudly or say a bad word, they say that it's not like me and I am left thinking 'who really am I?'. I guess I am supposed to be just a girl who is an introvert." Aisha let out while looking up at the sky.
"Wow! Do you know any bad words?" Michael asked, surprised.
"Oh, I do! So you better watch out. If you think about it, most of the people who are prejudiced about us are the ones who don't know us, and you should really learn how to ignore those people." Aisha smiled reassuringly.
"How about I add something? Being a teen can be tough. Just try to surround yourself with really good friends that really have your back, and also be a really good friend to those who really care about you. If you're not sure about certain things, talk to your friends that you trust and your family." They turned to see Narjis walking towards them.
