"Welcome back, class." said Ms. Carter, the biology teacher. "We have a new student. Would you like to introduce yourself?" I nodded, stood up and slightly hesitated, but said "Hi, you might know me already, my name is Leilah, I'm 15, I'm a Cancer, and I hope we can be friends..!" I smiled, and sat back down. "Okay, since Leilah just got here, today is gonna be a pretty chill day, we're gonna go around and introduce ourselves to her, and then we'll have free time."

The entire class went around saying their names, age and hobbies, and then had the freedom to roam the classroom and talk to peers. "Hey girlie!" Casey said, sitting on a beanbag by where I was sitting.
"Hey, Case! What's up?" "Nothing much, just freaking out that you're back." we both laughed, and I said "Same, honestly. I didn't know how long I had been counting the days before I stopped and just started rolling with the punches." Patton walked over and sat by us, saying "Well, I'm- we're glad you're back." Casey giggled slightly. "Yeah." "Thanks guys, glad to be back."

As the bell for lunch rang, we were dismissed from class and I walked over to my locker. "Lei, wait up!" called a sweet voice beyond the chaos of the crowded hallways. Patton finally caught up to me, out of breath, and said, "Do you wanna come over later? My mom would most likely wanna see you." I smiled and said "Sure, why not?" "Cool. We saved a spot for you outside, if you wanna come."

As we walked outside, an unnecessary amount of sunlight hit my eyes at an angle that made me squint, and I accidentally ran into someone.. definitely not my best 'first day' impression. As we sat down at the table, we were all sitting there, just talking, and catching up on the past year. "Hey, beautiful~." a voice said from behind me. "Go. The fuck. Away, snake." Roman practically shouted. "No one wants you here." "Calm down, princey, I just came to say welcome back.. jealous much?" Janus said, laughing. Patton grabbed me lightly by my hand and I sat between him and Casey at the table. "Thanks, Jay, but I'm trying to catch up with my friends. You can go now, I'll talk to you later." I said, with a smirk on my face and a cocky wave. "Buh-bye, darling."
