Heather Blossoms was gathering herbs alone when she heard a slight mew from behind some bushes. Dropping her borage, she pushed aside the berries to find...

Three mewling kits, barely a moon old, hidden in a nest of ferns. 

Heather could smell their mother's scent, but it was so faint that she couldn't follow it. She felt a twinge of annoyance that the border patrols had missed them. After all, the nest were so close to the border.

Heather licked each of the kits so that they were warm, and brought them back to camp.
