The team, except Wally, decided to spend the day on the beach. M'gann was wearing a yellow bikini, Valeria was wearing a red one-piece swimsuit, and the boys wore swimming shorts. M'gann was carrying a surfboard, Valeria was holding a stereo, Superboy and Kaldur were carrying iceboxes, and Dick was carrying a volleyball.

M'gann: Hello. Megan. We should hit the beach every day!

Dick: First, a moment of silence for our...absent comrades.

M'gann: Poor Wally.

Kaldur: And Nathan. I'm sure he'd love this.

M'gann: He promised Gwen that he'd be there for her band practice at 12. He might patrol around for a bit before and after that.

Valeria started snickering.

Superboy: What's so funny?

Valeria: Nothing, just...something Wally decided to text me earlier.

She took out his phone and showed them the text she and Wally sent each other.

At Keystone High School, Wally sat in the back of the class. While the teacher was talking, Wally sat with a grumpy look on his face, with only one thought in his head.

Wally: 'Why did my school have to start so early? I hate it here!'

August 8, 09:46 EDT

Nathan, in his Spider-Man suit, was sitting on a rooftop. He was eating a pizza he got from Joe's while listening to Just the Fact with J. Jonah Jameson. Of course, as always, Jameson was slandering Spider-Man.

Jameson: Unbelievable. I understand we have another low-information caller who thinks we're better off thanks to Spider-Man. Let's see if I can set her straight. You're on with J. Jonah Jameson.

Caller: I just wanna say that I've never seen New York so safe and peaceful. Compare what it was like when Spider-Man first showed up to now. And then Spider-Woman showed up, and now they're covering more ground. The city's safer now that Spider-Woman came along than it already was with just Spider-Man.

Jameson: Okay, fair enough, I will. Then, we had police officers and firefighters doing a wonderful job. There was crime, sure. But nothing they couldn't handle. Of course, we do have things now we didn't have then. Giant nine-foot killer lizards. Walking piles of sand! HUMAN JACKALS! ONE THAT SHOWED UP AT THE SAME TIME SPIDER-WOMAN DID?!

Caller: Didn't Spider-Man put all those guys in jail? And didn't Spider-Woman help Spider-Man and those other two heroes beat that Jackal guy?

Jameson: You're missing the point! They didn't exist before the Spiders came along! At best, they attract them, just like all these other hero types. But I've often wondered if they're in cahoots.

Spider-Man rolled his eyes under his mask. It has been like this ever since he first made his appearance as Spider-Man. He stops a criminal or a villain, Jameson then proceeds to slander him, saying that Spider-Man is the one who caused them. And Valeria isn't safe from his bashing, either.

Spider-Man: Someday, Jonah. Someday, you'll start to like me and Val.

He then got an alert about a bank robbery in progress a few blocks away. He put down his pizza, rolled the mask back over his mouth, and stood up.

Spider-Man: Maximum effort.

He jumped off the building and swung away.

Back on the beach in Happy Harbor, M'gann, Dick, Valeria, and Kaldur were in the water. M'gann and Dick were splashing each other until Superboy cannonballed into the water, creating a massive splash while making Valeria and M'gann giggle.

Back at Keystone High, Wally tried to drink from the water fountain, but he ended up splashing himself in the face.

He then looked down and saw that his pants were drenched in the crotch area, making it look like he wet himself. Wally groaned at the bad day he was having.

Back in New York, Nathan, in his civilian clothing, watched as Gwen was practicing with the band called the Mary Janes, along with Betty Grant and another two girls Nathan didn't recognize. Mary started the band back in her freshman year and was the lead singer, but he had to quit because after a near-death incident that Nathan saved her from as Spider-Man.

???: She's good, isn't she?

Nathan looked to his right and saw an African American boy with a small afro. He was about two inches shorter and appeared to be about a year younger than Nathan.

Nathan: Who?

Kid: The drummer, Gwen.

Nathan: Yeah. She always told me that lead singers are the ones on the covers...

Kid: But the drummers are the pacemakers.

Nathan: (chuckles) Yeah.

Kid: I take it you're Nathan, right? Nathan Rollins? Gwen talked about you a few times.

Nathan: Yeah, that's me. And you are...?

Miles: Miles Morales.

The two shook hands.

Nathan: Which school you go to?

Miles: Brooklyn Visions.

Nathan: Great. Hell of a basketball team if they managed to send Midtown to overtime.

Miles: (chuckles) Yeah, you bet.

Nathan: So, you and Gwen...

Miles: Yeah. Are you, uh...okay with that?

Nathan: It's fine, Miles. As long as she's happy.

Miles smiled.

After they got out of the water, Dick took out the barbeque grill and made some sausages for the team.

During lunch break, Wally groaned at the sight of the grub he was just served.

In Brooklyn, Spider-Man was webbing up a trio of criminals on a lamppost when he heard sirens approaching. He then swung away and landed on a nearby rooftop.

The lead police cruiser stopped in front of the lamppost and out stepped Detective Henry Rollins and another detective. He was a bald, African American man.

Detective: (sighs) Does Spider-Man always leave people like that?

Henry: Yep. That's his style.

Detective: So, what are we supposed to do here?

Henry: Well, there are two options, Jeff. Either we wait an hour and a half for the webs to dissolve, or we call the fire department for a ladder.

Jeff: Well, I've got a dinner date with Rio tonight, so FDNY it is.

Henry: I'll call it in.

He walked back towards the cruiser.

Jeff: Wait. How'd you know about the web dissolving?

Henry: My son got a hold of some Spider-Man left behind a while back. He did some science stuff and figured it out.

Jeff: I get that. My kid used to take apart my TV. Now, he's hacking into his friends' phones.

The two men chuckled.

Back in Happy Harbor, the team was playing volleyball. Kaldur, M'gann, and Dick were on one team, while Superboy and Valeria were on the other.

Kaldur served the ball. Superboy bounced it to Valeria, who jumped up and spiked it over the net.

In PE, Wally got smacked in the face with a dodgeball. He growled but then tried covering himself when he was belted with more dodgeballs.

In New York, Spider-Man was helping an old woman with directions. Once she thanked him and left, Spider-Man felt his phone vibrate. He took out his phone and saw the text he had just got.

Computer: Recognized: Spider-Man. B-0-7.

With his mask rolled up to his nose while eating a churro, Spider-Man walked out of the zeta tube, where he noticed Robin, Miss Martian, Aqualad, Spider-Woman, and Superboy all in uniform while standing with Batman, Red Tornado, and Green Arrow.

Spider-Man: Sorry if I'm late. I was just helping this old lady with directions. She gave me some churros if anyone wants—

He stopped himself when he noticed a new face. It was a blonde girl around his age, with a green costume with a bright green arrow on the chest.

Spider-Man: Oh. I didn't know we were getting a new teammate.

Artemis: (smirks) Well, you do now. I'm Artemis.

Spider-Man: Spider-Man.

Artemis: In that onesie?

Spider-Man: (chuckles) You're one to talk, Turquoise Archer.

Artemis looks at Spider-Woman with a smirk on her face.

Artemis: The clone thing makes a bit more sense now.

Spider-Man tilted his head.

Artemis: She called me the same thing you just did. I think we'll get along just fine.

Spider-Man: I'm sure we will. (turns to Batman) So, are we waiting for someone, or...

They heard the zeta tube activating.

Computer: Recognized: Kid Flash. B-0-3.

Then they saw Wally running towards them, wearing a pair of swimming shorts, flip flops, and sunglasses while carrying an umbrella, an icebox, a stereo, a beach ball, and a bag.

Wally: The Wall-man is here! Now, let's get this part star—

He tripped on his feet, falling face-first in front of everyone. He then looked up in embarrassment.

Wally: ...ted.

Artemis: Wall-man, huh? I love the uniform. What exactly are your powers?

Wally: Uh, who is this?

Artemis: Artemis, your new teammate.

Wally: Kid Flash. Never heard of you.

Green Arrow: Uh, she's my new protégé.

Wally: What happened to your old one?

Then they heard one of the zeta tubes activating.

Computer: Recognized: Speedy. B-0-6.

Then out came the former sidekick. He wore a red-and-black sleeveless suit and a domino mask.

Red Arrow: Well, for starters, he doesn't go by "Speedy" anymore. Call me Red Arrow.

Green Arrow: Roy, you look—

Red Arrow: Replaceable.

Green Arrow: It's not like that. You told me you were going solo.

Red Arrow: So why waste time finding a sub? Can she even use that bow?

Artemis: Yes, she can.

Wally: Who are you?

Artemis: I'm his niece.
Green Arrow: She's my niece.

Dick: Another niece?

Aqualad: (to Red Arrow) But she is not your replacement. We have always wanted you on the team. And we have no quota on archers.

Wally: And if we did, you know who we'd pick.

Artemis: Whatever, Baywatch. I'm here to stay.

Red Arrow then looked at Spider-Man and Spider-Woman.

Red Arrow: And by the looks of it, you didn't waste any time recruiting those two freaks.

Spider-Man: (scoffs) Been listening to Triple J's podcast, have you?

Red Arrow: Don't need to. I just find it weird that New York suddenly has to worry about giant green lizards after you showed up. (turns to Spider-Woman) And then there's this one here, who showed up as soon as the Jackal came around.

Spider-Woman: Well, we're not the ones prone to throwing temper tantrums when something doesn't go our way.

Red Arrow stepped towards her, but Aqualad stopped him.

Aqualad: You came to us for a reason.

Red Arrow: Yeah, a reason named Dr. Serling Roquette.

Robin: Nanorobotics genius and claytronics expert at Royal University in Star City. Vanished two weeks ago.

A hologram of the scientist appeared.

Red Arrow: Abducted two weeks ago by the League of Shadows.

Robin: Whoa! You want us to rescue her from the Shadows?

Wally: Hardcore.

They two shared a fist bump.

Red Arrow: I already rescued her. Only one problem, the Shadows had already coerced her into creating a weapon.

He pressed a button, creating a hologram of a containment device and a robotic bug.

Red Arrow: Doc calls it the Fog, comprised of millions of microscopic robots. Nanotech infiltrators. Capable of disintegrating anything in their path. Concrete, steel, flesh, bone. But its true purpose isn't mere destruction, it's theft. The infiltrators eat and store raw data from any computer system and deliver the stolen intel to the Shadows, providing them access to weapons, strategic defense, cutting-edge science and tech.

Artemis: Perfect for extortion, manipulation, power broking. Yeah, sounds like the Shadows.

Wally: Like you know anything about the Shadows.

Artemis gave him a smirk, which surprised him.

Wally: Who are you?!

Red Arrow: Roquette's working on a virus to render the Fog inert.

Robin: But if the Shadows know she can do that...

Spider-Woman: They'll come after her.

Red Arrow: Exactly. Right now, she's off the grid. I stashed her at the local high school's computer lab.

Green Arrow: You left her alone?

Red Arrow: She's safe enough for now.

Green Arrow: Then let's you and I keep her that way?

Red Arrow: You and I? Don't you wanna take your new protégé?

Batman put his hand on Green Arrow's shoulder, who let out a sigh.

Green Arrow: You brought this to the team. It's their mission, which means it's hers now too.

Red Arrow: (scoffs) Then my job's done.

He walked into a zeta tube.

Computer: Recognized: Speedy—

Red Arrow: That's Red Arrow, B06. Update.

The computer beeped before the zeta tube activated, allowing Red Arrow to leave the Cave. Wally and Artemis glared at each other before Spider-Man and Spider-Woman cleared their throats.

Spider-Man: We'll, uh...change into our stealth suits.

The two Spiders walked away in order to change.

Happy Harbor
August 8, 21:53 EDT

At Happy Harbor High School, Miss Martian, Superboy, and Spider-Woman (in her stealth suit) were guarding the perimeter while Aqualad and Kid Flash (their suits in Stealth mode), Robin, Artemis, and Spider-Man (in his stealth suit) were in the computer lab with Dr. Roquette, who was typing away on one of the computers.

Aqualad stood by the door, Kid Flash and Robin were sitting on a table, Artemis was standing close to Dr. Roquette, and Spider-Man was standing upside down on the ceiling, which got him a raised eyebrow from Artemis.

Aqualad: 'Miss Martian, link us up. We do not want the Shadows intercepting our comm.'

Miss Martian: 'Everyone online?'

Artemis held her head.

Artemis: 'Oh, this is weird.'

Spider-Man: 'You'll get used to it.'

Dr. Roquette: 'It's distracting. Coding a distributed algorithm virus on a kiddie computer with less RAM than a wristwatch is hard enough. Now I have to hear teen think in my skull?'

Kid Flash: 'Lady, do you always complain when someone tries to help you?'

Artemis: 'Pot, kettle. Have you met?'

Kid Flash: 'Hey, I do not need attitude from the newbie who drove Red Arrow off the team.'

Artemis: 'That is no not on me.'

Spider-Man: 'Okay, when's the wedding?'

Both Artemis and Kid Flash glared at Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: 'Well, you two are already arguing like a married couple, so might as well make it official.'

Artemis rolled her eyes.

Kid Flash: 'I wouldn't go anywhere near her with a ten-foot pole.'

Artemis: 'Me and him? Never gonna happen.'

Kid Flash: 'That's the only thing we'll agree on.'

Spider-Man: 'Yeah, keep telling yourselves that.'

Dr. Roquette: 'Fate of the world at stake!'

Kid Flash: 'She started it.'

Artemis: 'How about I just help Miss Martian, Superboy, and Spider-Woman patrol the perimeter?'

She left the computer lab.

Aqualad: 'Good idea.'

Robin: (to Kid Flash) 'You might wanna cut her some slack. It was her arrow that saved your butt against AMAZO.'

Kid Flash: 'What? No, that was Speedy's...I mean, Red Arrow's arrow, right?'

Robin: 'Not so much.'

Kid Flash looked up at Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: 'It's true.'

Kid Flash: 'Huh. Well, still not giving her the satisfaction.'

Artemis: 'You know, I can still hear you.'

Kid Flash groaned in frustration.

Dr. Roquette: 'I couldn't get the Justice League.'

Spider-Man: 'Hold on. Even if you finish the virus, it won't help much if we don't know where the weapon is. Can you track it, Doc?'

Dr. Roquette: 'My Utility Fog is not a weapon. It's science, brilliant science. And of course I can track it, but I'd have to go online. Might as well rent a billboard with this address and "assassinate me" written in neon.'

Aqualad, who heard the conversation, walked up behind Dr. Roquette, and place a hand on her shoulder, causing her to look at him.

Aqualad: 'We will protect you.'

Dr. Roquette stayed silent for a few seconds before pressing a button on the keyboard.

Dr. Roquette: 'Tracking the Fog now.'

After a few seconds, the computer tracked the Fog to Philadelphia.

In a private jet that just landed, Professor Ojo heard a ping from his computer. He looked at it and saw that it showed the location of Dr. Roquette before sending a transmission to Sensei.

Professor Ojo: Roquette has surfaced to track us, but that link's a two-way street. Sending her location...Now

Sensei: Who do we have near Happy Harbor, Rhode Island?

Outside the school, Superboy was walking along the fence until he heard rustling from the bushes. After a few seconds, he didn't anything suspicious, so he jumped onto the roof and hopped onto the other side of the building, where Artemis and Miss Martian were standing guard.

As Superboy walked away, Artemis and Miss Martian looked at him.

Artemis: 'Mm. That boy...'

Superboy looked back at Artemis with a raised eyebrow.

Spider-Woman: 'You know he can hear you, right? Matter of fact, we can all hear you.'

Artemis: 'Oh, I know.'

Then she started looked around.

Artemis: 'Wait, where even are you?'

Spider-Woman: 'On your left.'

Artemis and Miss Martian and saw Spider-Woman turning visible while perched on the fence. The lenses of her mask were squinted as she narrowed her eyes at Artemis.

Aqualad: 'Miss Martian, Dr. Roquette has located the Fog. Reconfigure the Bioship so that Robin and Superboy can pursue.'

Miss Martian raised her hand, causing the Bioship to land on the grass in front of the main entrance as the rear ramp lowered.

Miss Martian: 'Ready.'

Robin and Superboy ran towards the Bioship. Once they boarded, the Bioship closed its rear entrance and took off.

Spider-Woman: 'Congratulations, you embarrassed Superboy.'

Artemis: 'Didn't hear him say that.'

Spider-Woman sighed as she pinched the bridge of her nose with her hand.

Spider-Woman: 'No puedo más.'

Miss Martian: 'Must you challenge everyone?'

Artemis: 'Where I come from, that's how you survive.'

Both Spider-Woman and Miss Martian narrowed their eyes at the archer.

What the three girls failed to notice were the two green-suited figures jumping over the fence and entering the school.

Inside the school, Kid Flash leaned against the wall next to the computer lab door when he noticed a shadow coming from a hallway.

He followed the shadow until he found it in the swimming pool. He ran in but fell to the ground because of the marbles that were placed on the ground.

The second he was on the ground, one of the green-suited assassins kicked Kid Flash in the face, knocking him out, before pushing his unconscious body into the pool.

Back in the computer lab, Aqualad and Spider-Man stood next to Dr. Roquette as she wrote the code for the virus.

Then, Spider-Man heard the door creak open before his Spider-Sense rang.

Spider-Man: 'We got company.'

Aqualad turned around to see a shuriken flying towards Dr. Roquette. He jumped in front of it and took it to the chest.

Aqualad: Doctor, get down.

Aqualad and Spider-Man saw the assassin, who was wearing a white-and-red cat mask, throw three more shuriken at Dr. Roquette. Aqualad stepped in front of her, making the shuriken hit his forearm.

Then the assassin ran in with a pair of sais.

Cheshire: Hmm, that had to hurt.

Aqualad pulled off the shuriken before drawing his Waterbearers and forming them into swords.

Aqualad: Atlantean skin is quite dense.

He blocked Cheshire's strike.

Cheshire: And my shuriken are quite poisonous.

Aqualad kicked Cheshire back, and she landed perfectly on a table.

Spider-Man was about to intervene, but then his Spider-Sense rang again. He looked behind him and saw an Asian woman with a katana and a green catsuit sneaking up behind Dr. Roquette.

Spider-Man: Oh, no, you don't!

He shot a web line and pulled himself towards the assassin, kicking her away.

Shikata: So you're one of those Spiders I've heard so much about. I must say, I am quite disappointed.

Spider-Man: Stick around. You might feel a little more appointed in a minute.

Shikata raised an eyebrow as Spider-Man groaned quietly once he realized what he just said.

Spider-Man: I've been hanging out with Robin a little too much.

Shikata swung her katana at Spider-Man, who activated his Spider Arms to block the strike.

Aqualad: 'M'gann, Kid, Artemis, Spider-Woman. We are under attack in the computer lab.'

Artemis: 'On our way.'

Aqualad put himself in front of Dr. Roquette as Chesire swung her sais again. She brought Aqualad to the ground before throwing a sai at the doctor. Aqualad used one of his Waterbearers to deflect the flying sai, making it miss Dr. Roquette's head by mere inches.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man and Shikata were still fighting. Spider-Man tried to throw a Venom Punch at Shikata, but she weaved out of the way.

Shikata: You fight well, Spider-Man. Perhaps we could come to an...honorable arrangement.

Spider-Man: I'll have to pass on that.

He blocked a strike with one of his Spider-Arms, but Shikata quickly responded by slicing his leg.

Spider-Man: Argh!

Shikata kicked Spider-Man onto a table.

Shikata: Shame, that.

She was about to drive her katana into Spider-Man's chest, but Spider-Woman jumped in front of her and deflected Shikata's katana with her stingers before kicking her back.

Shikata: And there is the other.

Spider-Woman: Stay back, or you won't like how it ends.

As the Spiders were in a standoff with Shikata, Aqualad was still busy with Cheshire.

Cheshire: Almost.

She took out a dagger to replace her sai as she blocked another strike from Aqualad.

Cheshire: Poison slowing you down?

Aqualad: Jellyfish toxin. I'm largely immune.

She headbutted Aqualad, knocking him down to the ground.

Cheshire: Largely.

She was about to kill Aqualad, but her sai was shot off by an arrow from Artemis.

Artemis: Don't move.

Chesire looked behind her and saw Aqualad getting up. She then glanced at Shikata and saw her in a standoff with the Spiders.

Cheshire: (chuckles) This gig's getting interesting.

She took out a katana on her own and took a battle stance. Artemis started shooting arrows at the assassin, who deflected them with her sword, just as Kid Flash and Miss Martian entered the computer lab.

Shikata: Perhaps it is a little too interesting.

Cheshire: Perhaps it is.

She deflected one last arrow just as she and Shikata threw smoke pellets onto the ground. Kid Flash attempted to tackle them, but they had already disappeared, making him end up having to hold on to Artemis for balance. Once he noticed his position, Kid Flash backed away before looking at where Cheshire and Shikata were.

Kid Flash: Gone.

Dr. Roquette: They're getting away, You're letting them get away!

Spider-Man: Easy, Doc.

Kid Flash: (to Artemis) This is all your fault! You were on perimeter. How'd those Shadows get in?

Artemis narrowed her eyes at him.

Miss Martian: That's not really fair. Spider-Woman and I were outside, too.

Kid Flash: Outside being distracted by her! Besides, I can't be mad at you. 'You gave me mouth-to-mouth.'

Spider-Man's head snapped in the speedster's direction so fast that everyone heard his neck cracking.

Everyone: 'WE HEARD THAT!'

Kid Flash: Dang it!

He walked off while Spider-Man glared at him, which didn't go unnoticed by Artemis, Aqualad, and Spider-Woman, while Miss Martian looked down and noticed the wound on Spider-Man's leg.

Miss Martian: (gasps) You're bleeding.

Spider-Man looked down at his leg.

Spider-Man: It's just a flesh wound. I'll be fine.

He sprayed webbing on his wound, sealing it.

Spider-Man: That should stop the bleeding until it heals. (turns to Artemis) And just so you know, we've all had our fair share of screw-ups when we started out. Best you could do is learn from them.

Aqualad: Focus, everyone. The Shadows will be back.

Robin: Robin to Aqualad. We're over Philadelphia. We've located the Shadow's next target. S.T.A.R. Labs. We're too late. It's destroyed, totally destroyed. The Fog decimated it.

Spider-Man cursed under his breath in Spanish.

Robin: This is bad. S.T.A.R. Labs is cutting-edge science, and now their secrets are in the hands of the enemy. What's our next move?

Aqualad: (turns to Dr. Roquette) Rescan for that Fog. Find it. We're moving the Doctor.

At the Happy Harbor Port, Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Artemis, and Kid Flash were standing guard while Dr. Roquette worked on the virus.

Both Spiders noticed Artemis and Kid Flash glaring at each other.

Aqualad: 'Stop it. Both of you.'

Artemis & Kid Flash: 'What?'

Aqualad: 'I can hear you glaring.'

The Spiders look at Kid Flash and Artemis, then at each other. Even with their masks on, they could tell that the other was grinning.

Spider-Woman: '10 bucks says those two get together by New Year's Eve.'

Spider-Man: 'I got 20 by Halloween.'

Spider-Woman: 'You're on.'

Kid Flash: 'Are you being serious right now?!'

Artemis: 'You two are betting on something that'll never happen in a million years. Drop it.'

Spider-Woman: 'Stop bickering like an old couple, and maybe we will.'

Spider-Man: 'Or maybe we won't.'

Both Kid Flash and Artemis groaned in annoyance.

Suddenly, the front door was slammed open as Black Spider entered. Kid Flash ran at him and tried to sweep his legs, but Black Spider jumped up and stuck to the ceiling.

Spider-Man: Great. We got ourselves a cheap knockoff over here. You start shooting webs, I'll sue!

Black Spider shot a red substance that looked suspiciously like webbing at Kid Flash, who dodged it before throwing a trashcan at him, forcing him off the ceiling.

Spider-Man: Yep. I'm calling Nelson & Murdock after this.

Suddenly, his Spider-Sense rang. He looked behind him and saw Artemis drawing an arrow from her quiver. What she didn't notice was Shikata landing behind her.

Suddenly, Spider-Woman swung in and kicked Shikata away from Artemis before fighting her.

Spider-Man heard a gun getting cocked behind him. He immediately jumped onto the ceiling before the rapid gunfire began. He looked down and saw the shooter, who was a bald, middle-aged man wearing a green overcoat and carrying two modified SMGs. The first thing that Spider-Man saw was the metal plate covering half the man's bald head.

Spider-Man looked at the bullet holes and saw the damage. He knew those were high-caliber rounds.

Massacre: Let's dance, bug!

He began shooting at Spider-Man, who started swinging to avoid the bullets.

Spider-Man: SPIDERS ARE ARACHNIDS! NOT BUGS!

Meanwhile, Artemis heard glass breaking behind her. She saw Hook there and began shooting arrows at him.

Artemis: (to Dr. Roquette) Don't stop working!

Dr. Roquette continued typing into the computer, failing to notice Cheshire opening a window above and aiming a crossbow at her.

Cheshire shot the crossbow bolt at the programmer, but a bench levitated in front of her, blocking the bolt.

Cheshire: Martian's here. It's now or never.

Black Spider kicked Kid Flash away, shot a red web at the bench, and pulled it away, allowing Cheshire to land in front of Dr. Roquette, who started running. Artemis aimed an arrow at Cheshire but was knocked away by Hook.

Cheshire lunged at Dr. Roquette and knocked her down to the ground. Cheshire raised a sai to kill the doctor, but suddenly, Dr. Roquette's head did a full 180 turn to face the assassin as her skin turned green. "Dr. Roquette" was actually Miss Martian in disguise.

Cheshire: We've been duped!

In actuality, the real Dr. Roquette was in the Sandbar Internet Café a few blocks away from the port, working on the virus while being guarded by Aqualad.

Dr. Roquette: I've almost got it.

Back at the port, Spider-Woman was using her stingers to block Shikata's katana. She was constantly parrying and blocking her strikes.

Shikata went for an overhead strike, which made Spider-Woman move her stingers into an X shape to block it.

Shikata: Impressive.

She Spartan kicked Spider-Woman several feet away, knocking her to the ground.

Shikata: But not enough to save you.

She lunged toward Spider-Woman. The web-slinger noticed a pipe right next to her, so she quickly picked it up and parried Shikata's blow before getting back up.

Spider-Woman: Let's make this fair, shall we?

She held the pipe like a sword and took a fighting stance.

Shikata: So be it.

Shikata and Spider-Woman lunged at each other and parried each other's swings.

Meanwhile, Miss Martian transformed back into her Martian form and hovered above Cheshire.

Miss Martian: You'll never find Dr. Roquette.

Cheshire: Never is such a long time. (to Hook) Pursuing target. Keep them busy.

She ran towards the exit as Hook shot his hook at Miss Martian. Artemis noticed Cheshire running out, so she ran after her.

Artemis: Pursuing their leader. Take the rest down.

Kid Flash punched Black Spider away when he heard Artemis give the order.

Kid Flash: You are so not the boss of me!

Artemis: Just do it!

Meanwhile, Spider-Man was still swinging around the place, avoiding the gunfire from Massacre.

Spider-Man: 'Come on, man. How many bullets do you have in each mag?'

As if to answer his question, Massacre's SMGs stopped spraying bullets and they began clicking. Spider-Man saw the opening and changed his direction before swing-kicking Massacre away before he could reload.

Massacre hit a wall before quickly getting up and drawing a combat knife from his holster.

Spider-Man: Come on. That didn't even hurt you a little bit?

Massacre: I can't feel, even if I wanted to.

Spider-Man: Well, that's just sad.

Massacre lunged at Spider-Man and swiped at him with his knife. Spider quickly weaved away before throwing a punch of his own, which was parried.

Meanwhile, Spider-Woman and Shikata were still fighting, with Spider-Woman utilizing her impressive swordplay to keep Shikata at bay. They both fought until they ended up locking their melee weapons.

Shikata: You would've made a fine assassin.

Spider-Woman: Pass.

She headbutted Shikata, making her stagger backwards.

Meanwhile, Miss Martian threw two wooden benches at Hook, who shattered them before throwing his hook at her. She floated out of the way as the hook was stuck to the ceiling.

Miss Martian: 'Kid Flash, Spiders, we need to end this now.'

Kid Flash: 'It's like you read my mind, beautiful.'

A reb web was stuck onto his shoulder. Thinking quickly, he spun himself around with his super-speed, pulling Black Spider towards him. Once he was close enough, Kid Flash jumped and kicked Black Spider into a bench, knocking him out cold.

Spider-Woman twirled her pipe as she walked towards Shikata. Shikata swung her katana, but Spider-Woman used her pipe and one of her stingers to block it before flinging it off her hand. Before Shitaka could react, Spider-Woman had her stinger an inch away from her throat.

Shikata: (chuckles) Do it. Show me what you really are.

Spider-Woman snarled before retracting her stinger. She then pressed two fingers onto Shikata's neck and used her Venom to shock her into unconsciousness.

Spider-Woman: This is what I am.

Meanwhile, Massacre was still swiping his knife at Spider-Man, who was continuously weaving away.

Massacre: Stop moving, bug!

He swiped at Spider-Man again, but this time, it was blocked. Spider-Man twisted Massacre's wrist, making him let go of his combat knife before kicking him in the jaw, knocking him out.

Spider-Man: You felt that, tough guy?

Meanwhile, Hook retracted his hook and threw it back at Miss Martian, but she used her telekinesis to redirect it back towards his head, knocking him out.

Miss Martian: Woohoo! I got mine!

Spider-Man: Nice work.

Miss Martian smiled at him.

Kid Flash: Great.

He then noticed that he was still wrapped in Black Spider's webbing.

Kid Flash: Uh, little help?

Spider-Woman walked up to him and bonked him in the head with the pipe.

Kid Flash: Ow!

Spider-Woman: Dummy.

She took out a stinger and used it to cut Kid Flash free from the webbing.

Meanwhile, back at the internet café, Cheshire had quickly neutralized Aqualad using jellyfish toxin darts before preparing to kill Dr. Roquette.

The assassin grabbed her by the collar of her shirt before noticing her glance at the computer. She looked at the computer and saw a progress bar getting filled up until it was completely full.

Cheshire: So you finished the virus. Eliminating the reason for your elimination.

She raised her sai close to Dr. Roquette's face.

Cheshire: Though not the entertainment value.

She then pushed Dr. Roquette to the ground.

Cheshire: Lucky for you, my orders are clear. You live to program another day. After all, Doctor, the Shadows may find another use for you.

Meanwhile in Philadelphia, Professor Ojo had released the Fog into a WayneTech facility after neutralizing Superboy. Robin had to run into the building and hook up to the cafeteria computer to release the computer virus that was downloaded to his Hologlove.

He uploaded the virus into the computer. A few seconds later, the microscopic robots glowed red before shattering.

Robin: YES! The infiltrators have been outfiltrated!

Back in the parking lot, Professor Ojo saw the destruction of the Fog before seeing Superboy walking towards him.

He quickly activated his laser, but Superboy pushed back against it before covering Ojo's helmet with his hand, causing the helmet to short out and knock out Ojo as well.

Cheshire walked out of the internet café, having spared Dr. Roquette earlier, before several arrows landed in front of her before exploding. This knocked Cheshire to the ground as her mask flew off her face, while Artemis walked up to her with an arrow nocked.

Artemis: Don't move a muscle.

Cheshire got up with her back facing Artemis.

Cheshire: Wow. I am completely at your mercy.

She turned around, revealing her face to Artemis, who immediately recognized her.

Artemis: (gasps) You.

Cheshire: I suppose now you bring me to justice. Let your new friends interrogate me. I wonder if your position's secure enough to survive them learning everything I know.

After a few seconds, Artemis reluctantly lowered her bow.

Cheshire: Didn't think so.

She threw a smoke pellet, creating a wall of smoke, before walking backward towards it.

Cheshire: So like the Cheshire Cat, I'll just disappear.

She disappeared as the smoke dissipated just as Dr. Roquette exited the café while holding up Aqualad.

Aqualad: Artemis. Where is the assassin?

Artemis: She, uh...She got away.

Just then, Kid Flash, Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, and Miss Martian joined them, while Miss Martian levitated the unconscious, tied-up bodies of Shikata, Hook, Massacre, and Black Spider.

Kid Flash: Oh, from you? Big surprise. Notice, we got ours.

Spider-Man: Drop it, KF.

Kid Flash rolled his eyes before noticing Cheshire's mask on the ground.

Kid Flash: Cool. Souvenir.

He picked up the mask as Aqualad pulled the darts off his chest.

Spider-Man: That's her mask. Did you see her face?

Artemis: It was dark.

She had her back facing them.

Aqualad: It is fine. Robin and Superboy the Fog and Dr. Roquette is safe, thanks in no small part to you.

Artemis turned around to face him.

Aqualad: Welcome to the team.

Artemis softly smiled as she shook Aqualad's hand.

Miss Martian: I've always wanted a sister. Here on Earth, I mean. I have 12 on Mars, but, trust me, it's not the same.

Spider-Woman: (chuckles) What am I, chopped liver?

Miss Martian: (chuckles) Well, the more, the merrier, right? I think that's how the saying goes.

Artemis: I wouldn't know, but...thanks.

Spider-Man held out his hand, which Artemis immediately shook.

Spider-Man: Well, if you need any help, you know where to find us.

Artemis: Thanks, Spider-Man.

Spider-Man leans closer to Artemis.

Spider-Man: (whispers) Call me Nathan when we're out of uniform. And you can call Spider-Woman Valeria if she's okay with it.

Spider-Woman: I am.

She and Miss Martian elbowed Kid Flash's ribs.

Kid Flash: Ow! Yeah, welcome.

Artemis held out her hand, which Kid Flash reluctantly shook.

Spider-Man: I believe this is the start of a beautiful relationship.

Artemis & Kid Flash: Shut up, Spidey!

Spider-Man snickered.

Gotham City
August 9, 01:16 EDT

An out-of-order phone booth in an alleyway glowed as a zeta tube was activated. Once the light dimmed, Artemis stepped out. She then noticed another presence before drawing an arrow and aiming it at a figure hidden in the shadows.

Artemis: Step into the light. Now.

The figure stepped out of the shadows, revealing himself to be Red Arrow.

Red Arrow: Nice move.

Artemis lowered her bow as Red Arrow walked up to her.

Red Arrow: Almost made me believe you are Green Arrow's niece. But we both know you're not.

Artemis narrowed her eyes at Red Arrow.

Red Arrow: Still, I'm sure GA and Bats have a reason for lying, so your cover's safe. But I warn you, do not hurt my friends.

He turned around and began walking away.

Red Arrow: And if I were you, I'd be careful around the Spiders, especially the girl. There's something she's hiding, and he's too blind to see it.

He left the alley, leaving Artemis to her thoughts.

In Infinity Island, Sensei sat cross-legged while several holograms surrounded him.

???: Report.

Sensei: Masters. Before Ojo's capture, he transmitted the S.T.A.R. Labs data you required. But the WayneTech intel still eludes us.

???: Once again, the young heroes interfere. So it's fortunate we have an operative on the inside. And what of Project Arachne?

Sensei smirked as a calm, feminine voice spoke.

???: She still eludes. It matters not. Once the opportunity presents itself, she will be brought back to the Light.
