Currently, the Team were sparring against each other under Black Canary's supervision with the exception of Wally, who had his right arm in a cast while sitting in a recliner chair with Wolf lying next to him as he had Captain Marvel act as his personal butler, delivering him snacks and drinks.

Captain Marvel: Pineapple juice.

Wally took the glass of juice and took a sip from the straw.

Wally: Ah. Just what the doctor ordered.

Captain Marvel: How's the arm doing, Wally?

Wally leaned back as he lifted the leg rest.

Wally: Well, nothing wrong nachos can't cure.

Captain Marvel: Nachos? Oh, I'll go get you some!

He flies off just as Robin gets thrown into the ground by Artemis. The two continued sparring while Aqualad sparred with Miss Martian, and both Spiders were teaming up against Superboy.

Black Canary: Good work, everyone. In fact, it's been a very productive week.

The Team stopped sparring.

Artemis: Yeah, for everyone except Kid Malingerer.

Wally: Hey! Arm broken in combat against the Injustice League here.

Spider-Man: I remember giving explicit instructions not to do that.

Wally: Shup up, Rollins.

Black Canary: (chuckles) I've really enjoyed being your, uh, den mother this week.

Computer: Recognized, Zatara-1-1.

The zeta tube activated as Zatara entered the Cave. He then activated a holographic screen and began typing into it.

Computer: Access granted. Zatanna Zatara, A-0-3. Authorization, Zatara-1-1.

The zeta tube activated again as someone else entered the Cave. It was a teenage girl with black hair and blue eyes. She wore a dress shirt, jacket, and knee-high skirt, which everyone figured was a school uniform.

Zatara: Zatanna, this is the Team. Team, my daughter, Zatanna.

Miss Martian: Hi. I'm—

Robin: Robin! (clears his throat) I mean, I'm Robin.

Spider-Man and Spider-Woman started snickering at Robin already crushing on Zatanna. Robin gave them a glare with his face turning red before recovering and turning back to Zatanna.

Robin: She's Megan, uh, and that's Wally, Artemis, Kaldur, Conner, and—

Zatanna: The Spiders! Uh, I'm a big fan of you guys.

Spider-Man and Spider-Woman glanced at each other before looking back at Zatanna.

Spider-Man: Nice to meet a fan.

Spider-Woman: Sorry if we're not ready to take off our masks just yet.

Zatanna: It's fine. Don't worry about it.

Aqualad: Welcome to the Cave.

Zatanna: Uh, thanks.

Robin: So, uh, are you joining the Team?

Zatara: Let's not get ahead of ourselves. This is strictly a visit. (turns to Black Canary) Though I am sorry we missed the training. It's something from which Zatanna could benefit.

Which Zatara spoke with Black Canary, Miss Martian used the mental link between the Team to speak her mind.

Miss Martian: 'Do the rest of you get the impression we're still on probation with Zatara?'

Spider-Woman: 'Oh, so I'm not going crazy. That's good.'

Superboy: 'Not just Zatara. I mean, why's Marvel still hanging around?'

Wally: 'Because we like having him around.'

Artemis: 'You like having him around because he waits on you hand and foot.'

Wally: 'And your point is...?'

Aqualad: 'It almost makes one nostalgic for Red Tornado's tenure as our supervisor.'

Robin: 'Yeah, at least he trusted us.'

Spider-Woman: 'Until he sucked the air out of the room and knocked us out.'

Spider-Man glanced at Zatanna and noticed her narrowing her eyes at them with a hand on her waist. He knew right then and there that Zatanna must be thinking that they were crazy with their movements and facial expressions without even saying a word.

Superboy: 'If you ignore the fact that we shouldn't have trusted him. He was a traitor. That machine nearly got V—All of us killed!'

Spider-Man: 'New girl's staring at us like we're a bunch of nutjobs, by the way.'

Zatanna: Are you guys having a psychic conversation?

Everyone in the Cave, including Zatara and Black Canary, looked at her surprised.

Zatanna: Because I can't decide if that's cool or really rude.

Superboy glanced at Zatara and Black Canary before speaking.

Superboy: Alright, fine. We were talking about Tornado. It's been weeks since his attack, and the League hasn't told us anything.

Black Canary: The League is searching for Tornado, as well as the other androids that invaded the Cave and their creator, T.O. Morrow. Batman's made tracking them down our highest priority.

Robin: But you've found none of the above.

Black Canary: Not yet, but Tornado is Justice League. The Team is not to pursue this.

Zatara: Why don't you all take Zatanna on a, uh...tour of the Cave?

Everyone turned around and saw Zatanna lying down on Wolf. She and Wolf then got up and Wolf then ran off towards Captain Marvel, who came back with a plate of nachos.

Captain Marvel: Ah, you're giving a tour? Cool!

Superboy: Actually, I was hoping you'd take Wolf outside. He needs the exercise. We'll join in a few.

Captain Marvel: Sure, sure. I can do that. (turns to Wolf) Come on, Wolf.

Both he and Wolf ran off, with the former still holding Wally's nachos.

Wally: My nachos!

Spider-Man shot a web at Wally's back and pulled him away.

As the Team arrived in the kitchen, Zatanna caught up with them, now wearing a purple tank top and beige pants. Robin saw this and was stunned by how she managed to change so quickly.

Robin: When did you...? How did you...?

Zatanna: We're not really taking a tour, are we?

Superboy: No. We're hunting down that robot.

Aqualad: Yes. We are.

Zatanna: Oh, wow. Out loud and everything.

Artemis: What about New Girl?

Robin: I'm sure she won't tell.

Zatanna: (smirks) I can't tell, not if you kidnap me.

Spider-Woman: Oh, yeah. She'll fit in just fine.

The Team went to the hangar and boarded the Bioship. It turned invisible as it flew through the air. Suddenly, the comms beeped.

Black Canary: M'gann, the Bioship wasn't authorized for departure.

Kid Flash and Robin looked at Spider-Man.

Kid Flash: (whispers) You tell her something convincing.

Spider-Man: (whispers) What? Why me?

Robin: (whispers) Because out of all of us, Black Canary respects you the most. Now, come on.

Spider-Man: (whispers) I can't just lie to her. She'll see right through me.

As the boys bickered, Miss Martian spoke up.

Miss Martian: We're kidnapping Zatanna, uh, to show her Happy Harbour. Be back soon.

Black Canary: Roger that. Uh, have fun.

The comms shut off, and Spider-Man let out a sigh of relief.

Spider-Man: Thanks, M'gann. I did not want to be put on the spot like that.

Miss Martian: You're welcome.

Robin: Where are we going? Batman is the world's greatest detective, and he's searched for Tornado and Morrow in every logical location. If we're gonna do better, we need an illogical solution. A truly dumb idea.

As he said this with a smirk, everyone looked at Kid Flash expectantly. Instead of being offended, Kid Flash smirked.

Kid Flash: As a matter of fact...

Belle Reve
October 10, 18:35 CDT

Kid Flash's idea was to interrogate Professor Ivo, who had been captured and incarcerated in Belle Reve by the Justice League after the Team dismantles AMAZO.

Miss Martian: Warden Strange owed us a favor for stopping last month's prison break. He's given us 5 minutes with you.

Superboy: Spill, Ivo. How do we find T.O. Morrow and his Reds?

Ivo: Now, why in the world would I know how to find Morrow?

Kid Flash: Because, and here's a truly dumb idea, you're Morrow's biggest competitor in the evil android game. Who better to keep track of what he's up to and where?

Ivo: Ah. I see your point. So let me rephrase, why in the world would I tell you how to find Morrow?

Spider-Man: He knows.

Aqualad: Indeed. (turns to Miss Martian) Do what you must.

Miss Martian's eyes turned green.

Ivo: Oh, please. As if I've never faced a telepath before.

Spider-Woman: Maybe.

She lifted her hand, and orange sparks danced around her fingers.

Spider-Woman: But a little shock to the prefrontal cortex will have you singing like a canary.

Ivo: Your friends wouldn't let you resort to torture.

Nobody noticed that Zatanna was standing behind Morrow until she spoke.

Zatanna: "Trulb tuo S'worrom eurt noitacol!"

Ivo: Morrow's in a secret underground base beneath Yellowstone National Park 100 meters south of Old Faithful.

Everyone looked stunned as Zatanna stood with a smug grin on her face.

Ivo: Wait! What just happened?!

Spider-Man: If I had to guess, magic.

After getting the intel from Ivo, the Team flew towards Yellowstone.

Aqualad: Lock out all external communication. Soon, Canary and Zatara—Batman too, I imagine—will know of our visit with Professor Ivo. We haven't much time.

Robin: Look, I'm trying to be all nonchalant here.

Zatanna: Why? Be as chalant as you like.

Spider-Man and Spider-Woman looked at each other, both grinning under their masks.

Artemis: I think we're all just trying to get a handle on your powers. Could you teleport us to Tornado? Or Morrow to a cell? Or force his bots to surrender?

Zatanna: Or create peace on Earth for all time? Zatara couldn't even do that, and I'm nowhere near on my dad's level. I need to know a spell cold, or else have time to prep it. Plus, all magic requires energy, which usually has to come from within. I just can't make the impossible happen at will.

Superboy: What's our ETA to Yellowstone? I'm way past ready to stuff Tornado into a trash compactor.

Aqualad: Are you so certain he betrayed us?

Superboy: Aren't you?!

Aqualad: I am not convinced.

Spider-Man: My ribs are convinced.

Spider-Woman: So are my lungs.

Zatanna: What did he do to your ribs and lungs?

Spider-Man: One of his siblings broke three of 'em.

Spider-Woman: They forced me to breath in what's basically poison.

Zatanna: Ouch.

Spider-Man: Yeah. Ouch.

Aqualad: Regardless, that makes him but the victim of his creator's programming. Certainly, he deserves a chance to prove he's more than the weapon others designed him to be.

Superboy exhaled as he looked in front of him.

Yellowstone National Park
October 10, 20:22 MDT

After a few hours, the Team had finally arrived at Yellowstone. Aqualad got up from his seat and pressed the emblem on his belt, switching his standard color scheme to stealth.

Aqualad: Stealth mode.

Robin, Kid Flash, Miss Martian, and Artemis switched to stealth mode as well, while Spider-Man and Spider-Woman went to another part of the Bioship to change to their stealth suits.

The back of the Bioship opened up, and the Team started to leave. Spider-Man, however, stopped to check on Zatanna.

Spider-Man: If you don't feel up for it, you could stay behind.

Zatanna: Is that an order?

Spider-Man: Technically, we're defying orders by doing this, so...it's your call.

Zatanna: Cool. "Emit ot yrt tuo eht wen kool!"

Her casual clothing was magically replaced with a feminine version of her father's costume.

Spider-Man: Man, I wish I could do that.

The Team rushed out of the Bioship, but Spider-Man stopped once he had a thought. If Morrow had a secret base here, surely he'd have some kind of security system.

He looked around and managed to see a security camera hidden in a tree. His eyes widened before we webbed the camera and pulled it off, but the damage was done. He quickly swung back towards the Team, who were hiding in the treeline.

Robin: Ivo was right. Something's down there.

Spider-Man landed behind Robin.

Spider-Man: We got a problem.

Aqualad: What is it?

Spider-Man: There was a camera in the trees. Morrow knows we're here.

Suddenly, a powerful gust of wind pushed the Team back. They looked up and saw that Red Tornado hovered above them. Red Tornado created several tornadoes that surrounded the Team.

Miss Martian: Why, Tornado? Why are you doing this?

Red Tornado didn't respond.

Spider-Woman: 'Guys, look.'

They followed Spider-Woman's line of sight and saw a message blown on the ground. It said PLAY DEAD. They knew that Red Tornado was helping them, so they played along.

Miss Martian: 'Message received?'

Superboy: WHO CARES WHY?! NAIL HIM!

Everyone rushed at Red Tornado.

Aqualad: Superboy, manuver seven!

Superboy stopped in front of Aqualad and interlocked his fingers together. Once Aqualad's foot landed on his hands, Superboy pushed up and flung Aqualad towards Red Tornado. Unfortunately, Red Tornado punched Aqualad back towards Superboy, knocking them both down.

The Spiders leaped up and activated their gliders, using the winds from the surrounding tornadoes to keep them up. They glided towards Red Tornado, but the android caught Spider-Woman by the throat and threw her at Spider-Man, sending them both back to the ground.

Artemis took out a couple of explosive arrows and shot them at Red Tornado. However, Red Tornado redirected the arrows back towards Artemis.

Robin: LOOK OUT!

The arrows landed in front of Artemis and exploded, sending Artemis away.

Kid Flash: That does it, Red. You're not the only spin doctor around here.

He spun around and created a tornado of his own while Miss Martian flew in behind Red Tornado. The android saw this coming and caught Miss Martian and threw her towards Kid Flash, knocking them both down.

This left Zatanna as the last one standing.

Zatanna: "Etaerc a...a...dleihs dnuora ym—"

Her stuttering allowed Red Tordano to grab her by the throat and choke her out. That left the entire Team "incapacitated."

???: Quite a performance, brother.

Red Tornado turned around and saw Red Volcano behind him. The new android was a darker shade of red with a yellow triangle with a dot on its chest and forehead.

Red Volcano: But we both know that's all it was. I have all your memories, Tornado, plus a next-gen processor. I know your next move before you do.

Red Volcano ripped a piece of earth containing Red Tornado's message as the Team got up and saw what was happening.

Red Volcano: Blowing a message into the sand.

He broke the boulder into several pieces and hurled them towards the Team. Superboy and Aqualad leaped up and broke some, Miss Martian telekinetically pushed some away, Spider-Man and Spider-Woman webbed some up and threw them aside, while Kid Flash, Artemis, Zatanna, and Robin ran/lept out of the way.

Robin: 'Zatanna?'

Zatanna: 'I'm good. But Red Tornado's getting away.'

The Team saw Red Tornado flying away.

Artemis: 'Is he abandoning us?'

Miss Martian: 'I don't believe that.'

Kid Flash ran up the pillar of stone where Red Volcano stood.

Red Volcano: You stand no chance against me, humans.

He punched Kid Flash away just as Superboy and Miss Martian rushed him.

Superboy & Miss Martian: We're not human!

Red Volcano: Apologies. I suppose the properly inclusive term is...

He created two giant stone hands and hit Superboy and Miss Martian out of the air with them.

Red Volcano: "Meat bags."

With a wave of his hand, he created a large crack in the ground that Artemis and Aqualad fell through. Artemis shot a grappling arrow and grabbed Aqualad before swinging back up to the surface.

Suddenly, an electric web stuck to Red Volcano's left shoulder (which did nothing), courtesy of Spider-Man who was leapt towards him while Spider-Woman rushed from the android's right. Unfortunately, Red Volcano grabbed them both by the throat.

Red Volcano: Puny little insects.

Spider-Woman: (grunts) Even the android can't get it right.

Spider-Man: We're arachnids, Psychobot!

Red Volcano: My deepest apologies.

He slammed both Spiders into each other before hurling them to the ground. Just then, Robin jumped up and tossed a birdarang at the android, who caught it just before it exploded. It did no damage.

Red Volcano: Tornado's memory files and my superior processing speed allow me to anticipate your every move.

Zatanna: "Emoks emoceb a dlofdnilb!"

The resultant smoke from Robin's explosive birdarang became a tendril that wrapped around Red Volcano's eyes.

Zatanna: Tornado never knew my moves.

Robin: And I bet you've got some good ones.

Zatanna looked at Robin.

Robin: Whoa, sorry. That may have come off a little too Wally.

Zatanna: (chuckles) I don't mind.

Spider-Woman: HEY! Less flirting, more fighting, please!

Red Volcano shot lasers out of eyes to get rid of the smoke blindfold. At the same time, a volcanic eruption occurred behind him.

Spider-Woman: How did we forget about the massive supervolcano?

Zatanna: Uh, how bad is this?

Spider-Man: You ever seen 2012? Well, that's what's happening.

Soon, the entire battleground was mostly covered with ponds and small rivers of lava. Red Volcano tossed several rocks at the Team, which they all dodged.

Kid Flash: 'He's activating a stage 2 eruption. It gets to stage 3, kiss the hemisphere goodbye.'

Aqualad: 'Hit him from all sides.'

Both he and Superboy leapt at Red Volcano. However, he throw a massive rock at Aqualad to knock him away and caught Superboy's wrist before tossing him aside.

While Invisible, Miss Martian tried to pull Red Volcano down. The android released a stream of lava right next to her, the heat making her turn visible and knocking her out.

Spider-Man: M'GANN!

He sprinted toward Miss Martian, but Red Volcano landed in front of him. The android swung at Spider-Man, but he leapt up and landed on the android's back. Spider-Man charged his fist with Venom and punched the back of Red Volcano's head, but it did nothing to the android as Red Volcano grabbed Spider-Man by the head and threw him away before picking up Miss Martian by her cape.

Seeing this, Zatanna laid a hand on Kid Flash and Spider-Woman's shoulders and chanted a spell.

Zatanna: "Ekoms dna srorrim...Etaerc Dik Hsalf dna Redips-Nomaw snoisulli!"

Out of the smoke, several clones of Kid Flash and Spider-Woman were created before they rushed at Red Volcano.

Spider-Woman: Nice trick!

Zatanna: Thanks. I use a scaled-down version when I wanna sneak out of the house.

Seeing the copies of Kid Flash and Spider-Woman, Red Volcano release a barrage of rocks at them. While the android was distracted, the real Spider-Woman hit him with a Venom Punch, which made him loosen his grip on Miss Martian, allowing the real Kid Flash to grab her and take her a safe distance away from the android.

Suddenly, a stream of water emerged from the ground behind the Team and hit Red Volcano into a pond of lava.

Spider-Man: Nice hit, Kal!

Aqualad: The hit was not mine. Look!

They looked at where Aqualad was pointing and saw Red Torpedo controlling the stream of water towards Red Volcano. While Red Volcano tried to get of the lava with a pillar of stone, Red Tornado flew in and smashed the pillar, making Red Volcano fall back into the lava.

When Red Volcano emerged from the lava, he was hit by several fireballs by Red Inferno.

Red Volcano: Sister! Brothers! Stop!

He was tackled into the lava by Red Torpedo. Both he and Red Inferno pinned Red Volcano under the lava as Red Tornado stomped his feet on his chest, making sure Red Volcano doesn't come out as he, Red Inferno, and Red Torpedo started to melt.

Red Volcano: Father would be so disappointed.

As Red Volcano, Red Torpedo, and Red Inferno melted away, Superboy grabbed Red Tornado and pulled him out of the lava. The android was fine, except half his legs were melted.

The rumbling from the supervolcano reminded the Team of the imminent threat.

Kid Flash: Tornado, listen! We're on the verge of a stage 3 supervolcano eruption. There's no turning back from that. We need to vent pressure fast, but the ash cloud will bring on worldwide nuclear winter unless you divert it!

Red Tornado nodded.

Kid Flash: (turns to Robin) Triangulate around the pressure locus!

Robin: Right!

He turned on his Hologlove and pinpointed the pressure locus of the supervolcano.

Robin: There, there, and there!

Artemis fired an arrow, which split into three miniature rockets, and hit the spots Robin pointed out.

Red Tornado flew up to the sky and created a massive tornado that sucked the ash cloud directly into space, causing the eruption to die down.

Kid Flash: YES!

They saw Red Tornado barely managing to land. They ran up to him and saw the full extent of the damage. That's when Spider-Woman had an idea.

Spider-Woman: RT, you know where the entrance to Morrow's lab is, right?

Red Tornado nodded.

After gaining access to T.O. Morrow's underground lab, Spider-Man got to work with fixing Red Tornado's voice box, which was previously disabled by Morrow (who turned out to be an android).

Spider-Man: There. That should work.

Red Tornado: Yes. I can speak again.

Aqualad: You were willing to sacrifice yourself to save the planet.

Red Tornado: The planet would have survived. It was humanity that was saved, though not by me. My sister and brother were the true heroes this day.

Aqualad: My point is this, you were never the mole. Never a traitor.

Red Tornado: No. I left to protect you from further attack and to find my creator, Morrow.

Spider-Woman: I'm starting to think that this mole thing was just something to throw us off.

Aqualad: Perhaps you are correct, Valeria.

Nearby, Kid Flash and Robin picked up a robot hand and leg from a box of spare parts.

Kid Flash: Cool. A souvenir.

Robin: Reddy, we can rebuild you. Better than you were before.

Red Tornado: I do not believe I should be repaired.

Superboy: Why'd you volunteer to become our den mother in the first place?

Red Tornado: I was the pragmatic choice. I do not require sleep. I have no secret identity or second life to live.

Kid Flash: But you do have advanced A.I. programming designed to learn, adapt, evolve.

Miss Martian: Hello, Megan! You wanted to become more human.

Artemis: And you couldn't do that with the League. They're stiffs.

Robin: You're sure not gonna learn emotion from Batman. Trust me.

Aqualad: Then the Cave was not a proving ground only for us, but for you as well.

Red Tornado: I do not know if these statements are accurate, but perhaps they are true. And if I understand the term correctly, I believe I have come to care about you all.

Superboy: See? Practically a meat bag already.

Red Tornado: Which reminds me...

After letting Red Tornado visit the real T.O. Morrow, the Team boarded the Bioship and began to fly toward Happy Harbour.

Robin: (to Zatanna) So, good kidnapping?

Zatanna: Actually, yeah. Best ever.

Robin: (chuckles) First of many, I hope?

Zatanna: If my dad doesn't ground me for life.

???: I get that.

Zatanna turned to Spider-Man, who had unmasked himself along with Spider-Woman.

Nathan: My dad tried to do the same thing when he found out I was Spider-Man.

Zatanna looked stunned at the sight of the Spiders unmasked.

Nathan: (chuckles) Right. I'm Nathan. This is my sister, Valeria.

Valeria: Technically, I'm a clone of Nathan, but yeah. What's up?

Zatanna: How'd you talk him out of him? Your dad, I mean?

Nathan: Well, it helps to be stubborn, which I can tell that you are.

Zatanna: (smiles) Maybe you're right.

Meanwhile at Mount Justice, Zatara and Black Canary have heard of the Team's excursion to locate the Reds and T.O. Morrow and their battle to save the world. Zatara was not impressed as he ranted to Black Canary.

Zatara: SHE'S GROUNDED FOR LIFE! "They're good kids, Giovanni. Don't worry, Giovanni." She's NEVER joining this team!

Just then, Captain Marvel and Wolf came into the Cave, both extremely wet from the rain outside.

Captain Marvel: Um...Are they coming out to play or what?
