Mount Justice
September 22, 18:43 EDT

In the Cave, Superboy and Spider-Woman were standing next to the motorbike Superboy was working on. Spider-Woman had her mask rolled up to her nose as she and Superboy made out before Sphere rolled up to them and beeped.

(A/N: In case you forgot what her suit looked like)

Spider-Woman: (laughs) Someone's jealous.

Superboy: Maybe. Or maybe...

???: Hey, guys.

Spider-Woman quickly rolled her mask down over her mouth as Kid Flash walked up to them while eating a sandwich.

Kid Flash: You two sure spend a lot of time working on this bike. Obviously, you need the Wall-Man's expert help.

Spider-Woman: If we're planning to total it before it can even get any mileage, we'll be sure to ask you.

Kid Flash shot her an incredulous look while Superboy smirked. Sphere then started beeping, and Spider-Woman and Superboy started patting it to calm it down.

In another part of the Cave, Miss Martian was in the kitchen waiting for the cookies she put in the oven while making her phone hover next to her head. She was on the phone with Nathan, and she had it on speaker.

Miss Martian: So out of everything Harry and Peter could've done to get the cops off your back, and Harry decides to sing and broadcast his whole in the school PA system? And Peter actually joined in?

Nathan: (laughs) Yep. I probably would've been caught if it hadn't been for them.

Miss Martian: And you said that was the craziest thing you've done at the time? Crazier than fighting a giant lizard?

Nathan: Mhm.

Miss Martian giggled in response, and Nathan laughed with her on the phone.

In another part of the Cave, Aqualad had been telling Red Tornado about the mole Sportsmaster mentioned in Taipei.

Red Tornado: So you have told no one else of this mole?

Aqualad: I cannot be sure one exists. And if it does, if the Team is being betrayed from within, I must investigate without tipping my hand. But perhaps I should tell Batman?

Red Tornado: Generally, the Batman expects the Team to handle its own problems, but the decision is yours. I will return after monitor duty on the Watchtower.

He walked past Aqualad and activated a zeta tube before stepping in.

Aqualad: I thought you were exempt from monitor duty since becoming out den mother.

Computer: Recognized: Red Tornado, 1-6.

Red Tornado: I agreed to cover for Green Arrow. He has an interpersonal event with Black Canary. A "hot date."

Red Tornado disappeared as the zeta tube deactivated, leaving Aqualad to his thoughts.

Gotham City
September 22, 18:45 EDT

Nathan, in his standard Spider-Man suit, was standing next to an out-of-order phone booth, which was actually a zeta tube station. He didn't have to wait long until his Spider-Sense rang softly.

(A/N: In case you forgot what his suit looked like)

Spider-Man: I know you're there, Dick. That doesn't work on me anymore.

He turned around and saw Robin standing behind him with his eyes widened behind his domino mask.

Robin: How'd you know I was here? Matter of fact, how'd you even know my real name?

Spider-Man: I guess my Spider-Sense picked up on your little ninja tricks. As for your name, I noticed you looking surprised when Invincible told us his real name three days ago. Then I remembered you saying you go to Gotham Academy when he dealt with AMAZO, so I hacked into the school database and found you there. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone about your secret identity.

Robin was silent for a few seconds before smirking.

Robin: Probably should've expected that from you, Rollins. You're probably smarter than Batman, and that says something.

Spider-Man: That's a pretty high bar, Grayson.

Robin: One that I'm about 85% confident you'll beat in no time.

Spider-Man: 85%?

Robin: An argument could be made for 90.

Spider-Man and Robin shared a laugh before falling silent.

Spider-Man: So why exactly did you text me to come here?

Robin: (smirks) You'll see. For now, just turn invisible and hide with me.

He climbed up a fire escape before Spider-Man could ask any questions. He just shrugged before turning invisible and leaning on the side of the zeta tube.

A minute passed and, much to Spider-Man's surprise, Artemis showed up in the alleyway. She stopped in front of the zeta tube and looked around before going to enter. Before she did, though, Robin hopped off the fire escape and landed behind Artemis.

Robin: Artemis?

She jumped in surprise as she saw Robin with a grin on his face.

Artemis: Robin! I, uh...

She widened her eyes when she saw Spider-Man turn visible next to Robin.

Artemis: Spider-Man! W-What are you...doing here?

Robin: How random that you're in Gotham City instead of Star City where your uncle Green Arrow lives.

Spider-Man tilted his head as he looked between Robin and Artemis. Robin did raise a valid point to him. Spider-Man wondered if that was the reason why Robin asked him to come to Gotham.

Artemis: I'm, uh, here to see my cousin. She was in the state spelling bee here in Gotham City.

Robin: C-O-O-L. Did she W-I-N?

Spider-Man groaned in annoyance.

Artemis: N-O.

Robin: D-R-A-G.

Spider-Man: Okay, that's getting annoying. Can we just get to the C-A-V-E already?

Robin started snickering, while Spider-Man quickly realized what he just did.

Spider-Man: Oh, come on! (points at Robin) I need to stop hanging out with you so often. You're a bad influence, Robin.

Robin just gave him a dumb smirk.

Artemis: Let's just go to the Cave.

Robin: Ladies first.

Artemis: Your town. You go.

Robin shrugged before entering the zeta tube, which quickly activated.

Computer: Recognized, Robin, B-0-1.

The zeta quickly deactivated.

Artemis: (to Spider-Man) So what brought you to Gotham, Nate?

Spider-Man: (shrugs) I don't know. Robin just texted me, telling me to come here. Don't know why.

Artemis: That's weird.

Spider-Man: I know, right?

He walked into the zeta tube and closed the door, causing it to activate.

Computer: Recognized, Spider-Man, B-0-7.

Once the zeta tube deactivated, Artemis walked in and closed the door, reactivating it.

Computer: Recognized, Artemis, B-0-8.

------------------------------

Once Artemis arrived in the Cave, the first thing she noticed was that the Cave seemed to be thrashed as if a tornado went through it as well as a large wall of black smoke in front of her.

Robin: DOWN!

Artemis narrowly dodged a fireball that was flying towards her as Robin and Spider-Man, with the latter having his metal Spider-Arms protruding from his back, emerged from the smoke and landed next to her. Robin threw a couple of explosive birdarangs into the wall of smoke, while Spider-Man did the same with web bombs.

Spider-Man heard his Spider-Sense blaring, so he grabbed Robin by the cape and dove to the side to avoid another fireball, while Artemis recovered from her shock and started shooting arrows into the wall of smoke. Robin got up and threw another pair of birdarangs, which ended up hitting something metallic judging by the clanking sound, before he, Artemis, and Spider-Man dodged another fireball.

The trio got up and saw two silhouettes from the smoke, one masculine and one feminine.

Artemis: Who are we fighting?!

Spider-Man: No idea, but we're sitting ducks sitting by these tubes.

Robin: He's right. Head for the exit!

Spider-Man deactivated his Spider-Arms as the trio started running for the exit, but a large wave of water came hurtling towards them.

Robin: Or not.

They tried to run away, but they were picked up by the wave and thrown into a wall. They got up and ran in another direction, avoiding the fireballs that were being launched at them.

Spider-Man saw Artemis' bow on the ground, so he quickly picked it up and tossed it to her as they ran behind Robin. Spider-Man made the mistake of looking behind him and saw a small twister made out of fire chasing them. Luckily, they had reached the gym and the door closed behind them. They then tried to contact the Team as they ran.

Robin: Robin to Team. Come in, Aqualad!

Artemis: 'M'gann, can you hear me? Are you there?'

Spider-Man: Valeria, do you copy? Hello?

Unfortunately, the fire twister blew up the door, knocking the trio to the ground.

Spider-Man: GO, GO, GO!

He helped Robin and Artemis back up to their feet and kept running from the fire twister chasing them until they reached the showers and Robin used his radio earpiece.

Robin: Robin to Batcave! Override R-G-4!

They entered the showers and turned them all on.

Robin: Cave calling Justice League, H-O-J-Slash-Watchtower! B-0-1! Priority Red!

Once all of the showers were turned on, Robin, Spider-Man, and Artemis stood in the middle.

Robin: Comm is down. Blocked.

Spider-Man: Of course it is. At least the water's helping.

They then heard a rumbling sound. Suddenly, the valves and the showerheads burst, quickly flooding the shower room with water.

Robin: Or not.

In a matter of seconds, they were all underwater. Robin stuck a birdarang onto a wall, which quickly exploded and created a hole for Robin, Spider-Man, and Artemis to get out of. After they caught their breath, they ran to the kitchen.

Robin: We need to get lost.

They looked around for a way to escape, and Artemis quickly found in the air vent above a stove.

Artemis: The air vent!

Spider-Man: Good eye. Let's go.

He and Artemis ran towards the air vent. Once they got there, Spider-Man removed the grate and helped Artemis climb up before noticing Robin using his Hologlove on a console.

Spider-Man: What are you doing?

Robin: Downloading Cave blueprints. Could come in...Go, go.

He deactivated his Hologlove and ran up to Spider-Man, who helped him climb up the vent before climbing up himself.

Once they entered the ventilation system, Artemis crawled ahead and Spider-Man crawled behind, while Robin was in between them, using his Hologlove to navigate the trio.

Robin: Go left.

Artemis and Robin turned left, but once Spider-Man turned left as well, a pillar of fire appeared from where they just were.

Spider-Man: Whew. Too close. Now where?

Robin: Take the first right. There should be a vent cover right in front of you.

They continued crawling while following Robin's directions until they reached the vent cover. Artemis removed the cover and slid down the shaft, followed by Robin and Spider-Man.

The trio ended up in the boiler room and Robin pulled up the Cave's schematics using his Hologlove.

Robin: This way.

He ran ahead, and Artemis and Spider-Man followed him. As they ran, the vent they came out of blew up and the feminine figure appeared on the catwalk completely engulfed in fire. The figure's head did a complete 360-degree turn, which caused Spider-Man to notice its glowing red eyes, before it shot a pillar of fire upwards, completely covering the ceiling and heating up the room at the same time.

Spider-Man, Robin, and Artemis jumped off the catwalk and landed behind a boiler. They looked at the generator in front of them and saw the gauges on it turn from green to red before cracking.

Spider-Man: That doesn't look good.

Robin: It's not.

The three ran out of cover as the pipes began to burst, causing steam to come out of them. The figure on the catwalk started shooting fireballs at them before they took cover behind another boiler. Robin activated his Hologlove as Spider-Man noticed another vent cover nearby before getting to it.

Robin: I know that other access tunnel is here somewhere.

Spider-Man: You mean this one?

Robin and Artemis saw Spider-Man opening the vent cover, revealing the access tunnel. Robin placed an explosive birdarang on the boiler before jumping into the vent, followed by Artemis and Spider-Man, who closed it behind him.

As the boiler room exploded, Artemis, Robin, and Spider-Man crawled along the vent before Robin stopped before a fuse box.

Robin: Hold on.

He pried open the fuse box and plugged his Hologlove into it.

Robin: Locking out Cave's motion and heat sensors to prevent the enemy from tracking us.

Artemis: And I ask again: Who is the enemy?

Robin: Let's find out. Downloading Cave security footage...There.

On his Hologlove, four screens appeared. Robin zoomed in on one of the screens.

Superboy, Kid Flash, Miss Martian, and Sphere stood by while Spider-Woman worked on the motorcycle. Kid Flash had a grumpy look on his face with his arms crossed while Aqualad walked towards them.

Spider-Woman: Torque wrench.

Miss Martian levitated a torque wrench from the toolbox and handed it to Spider-Woman.

Spider-Woman: Thank you.

Kid Flash: You know I could still help with that bike.

Spider-Woman: And like I said before, Kid. If the plan was to make this thing undrivable, we'd have called you.

Miss Martian snickered, Superboy smirked, and Kid Flash scoffed as Spider-Woman continued working on the bike.

Aqualad: I have been meaning to ask. Any problem juggling schoolwork with your responsibilities here?

Superboy: No.

Spider-Woman: Not really. Socket wrench, please.

Miss Martian levitated a socket wrench to Spider-Woman.

Kid Flash: Juggling's just one of my many talents.

Miss Martian: Cheerleading practice has presented a challenge. Oh, but my first loyalty is to the Team. This Team, not the Tigers.

Aqualad: Artemis starts school today. Do you think she will have trouble maintaining her loyalties?

Spider-Man and Robin noticed Artemis narrowing her eyes when Aqualad said that.

Spider-Woman: (gets up) It'll be a challenge, but I'm sure she can handle it.

Kid Flash: Eh, she'll manage alright. I mean, how much more hostile and annoying can—

Suddenly, an explosion knocked the Team back as the footage abruptly changed to static.

Artemis: What just happened?

Robin: Explosion took out the camera. I'll find another angle.

On another camera, the Team were seen recovering from the explosion before a large body of water flew towards them on its own while taking out the second camera.

On the third camera, Aqualad took out his Waterbearers and Spider-Woman took out her stingers as the Team ran/flew in different directions before the water took out the third camera.

On the fourth camera, the Cave hangar was being flooded with water while Aqualad and Miss Martian were running up the stairs before another explosion occurred, taking out the camera.

Robin: That's it. All of them are dead.

Spider-Man and Artemis looked at Robin with widened eyes, and Robin realized the poor choice of words he just used.

Robin: The cameras. I-I meant the cameras. Uh, I'm sure the others are okay.

Spider-Man smacked Robin at the back of the head.

Robin: OW!

Spider-Man: Just say the cameras are dead, Dumb Wonder!

Robin: Sorry, that's my bad. Just give me a sec to find the fastest route to the hangar.

Artemis: Yeah. They're fine. They've all got superpowers. They can handle anything.

Spider-Man: I'm more worried about the guys who attacked the Cave. I mean, you'd think a place built by the Justice League would have some kind of security measure to prevent things like this from happening.

Robin: Yeah, it should.

Artemis: Great. Now I'm even more worried.

Robin: That makes all of us. Got it, come on.

After following Robin, the trio ended up in the library and ran to the lower level.

Robin: There's a secret passage behind one of these bookcases.

Artemis: Seriously? Cliché much?

Robin: You should see the Batcave.

As they were walking around the library, they heard the sound of the hydraulic doors opening. Immediately, Artemis nocked an arrow and Robin took out a pair of birdarangs.

Spider-Man: (whispers) Hide.

The trio immediately hid behind a bookcase as the sound of heavy, metallic footsteps got progressively louder. Artemis peeked through a shelf to see what was coming until she saw a large masculine silhouette approaching them while speaking in a familiar voice.

???: Artemis, Robin, Spider-Man.

Robin and Spider-Man shared a look, while Artemis smiled.

Artemis: It's Red Tornado!

She ran out of cover, only for her smile to quickly disappear once she saw who it really was. The figure turned out to be a large red android that shared a striking resemblance to Red Tornado. The major differences were the top half of the android's head being yellow, as well as having a yellow M on its chest.

The android reached for Artemis, only for Spider-Man to quickly shoot a web projectile at its eyes, blinding it, while Robin tackled Artemis to the ground.

Robin: Yes on the Red, no on the Tornado.

The trio ran away as Red Torpedo blindly smashed a table, only for them to be intercepted by another red android. This one appeared slightly smaller and more feminine, and it had a yellow line reaching from its right shoulder to the center of its chest to its left hip to its back to its right thigh.

Robin, Artemis, and Spider-Man ran in another direction and avoided Red Inferno's fire attack. They climbed up a bookcase and hopped over the bookcases while the sprinklers activated, drenching the library with water.

Artemis: Who...? What are they?

Spider-Man glanced behind him and saw Red Torpedo rip the webbing off its eyes with ease.

Spider-Man: [Spanish] <Oh, crap.>

Robin hopped down in front of a bookcase, while Spider-Man and Artemis stayed above. Artemis shot an arrow at the androids, but Red Torpedo summoned a small ball of water to block it. Red Inferno punched a bookcase next to it, which knocked over the one in front of it, which started knocking over all the bookcases in front of Spider-Man and Artemis like dominoes.

Artemis and Spider-Man jumped off the bookcase they were standing on, while Robin tilted a book called The Mysteries of Udolpho, opening a secret entrance where the bookcase should've been. Spider-Man shoved Robin and Artemis into the entrance and dove in after them just before the bookcase behind them fell over them.

The trio ran into the tunnel as the entrance closed behind them, which helped them escape from Red Torpedo and Red Inferno.

Artemis: Did either of you know Tornado had...siblings?!

Robin: No.

Spider-Man: First I've heard of it.

As they reached an intersection, Robin turned left, only for Artemis to stop him by grabbing his forearm.

Artemis: So now what? Red Tornado is one of the powerhouses of the League! How are we supposed to take down TWO of him!

Robin: They do seem pretty user un-friendly.

Spider-Man: This is not the time for jokes, Robin!

Robin: That's rich coming from you, Spidey!

Spider-Man was about to respond when Red Torpedo's voice was heard from the Cave's PA system.

Red Torpedo: Attention, Robin. Attention, Spider-Man. Attention, Artemis. You have exactly 10 minutes to surrender, or the lives of your teammates will be extinguished.

------------------------------

In the upper level of the hangar, Aqualad and Miss Martian were trapped in a cage made out of fire. Aqualad was holding Miss Martian against his chest, since she had passed out earlier from the heat generated from the cage. Red Inferno hovered above them, and its red eyes brightened, causing the heat of the fire cage to intensify.

On the lower level, Sphere was embedded into a wall while Kid Flash, Superboy, and Spider-Woman were trapped in chunks of metal. Spider-Woman had her mask completely removed and replaced by a breathing apparatus, which consisted of a military-grade respirator mask with a tube attached to a cylinder tank which was labeled C2H5Cl. This forced Valeria to breathe in ethyl chloride instead of oxygen, which greatly weakened her. Valeria was seemeingly panicking as she was breathing heavily while her eyes darted around frantically, her panicked breathes making her inhale more of the gas, which Superboy noticed almost immediately when he heard her rapid heartbeat.

Superboy: Valeria, focus on my voice. Take slow, deep breaths.

Fortunately, Valeria seemed to calm down slightly. Suddenly, Red Torpedo emerged from the water and raised his hand, making the water level rise to point where Valeria, Kid Flash, and Superboy only had their heads above the water.

Red Torpedo: 9 minutes and 45 seconds.

------------------------------

The second they heard Red Torpedo's warning, Robin, Artemis, and Spider-Man ran as fast as they could towards the hangar as Red Torpedo's voice blared on the PA system again.

Red Torpedo: 8 minutes.

Robin: We can access the hangar from here.

Suddenly, a wave of water rushed in behind them.

Robin: Or not.

Spider-Man: Can you stop saying that?

They tried to outrun the wave, but they still got washed up by it as the hallway got completely flooded with water.

Robin took a rebreather out of his utility belt and took a breath before swimming to Artemis and putting it in her mouth, allowing her to take a breath as well. Robin reached into his utility belt again, but Spider-Man grabbed his forearm and shook his head while giving him a thumbs up, telling him that he'll be fine without a rebreather.

Suddenly, he heard his Spider-Sense blare, so he turned around and saw Red Torpedo rapidly swimming toward them. It grabbed Artemis by her ankle and pulled her towards him, making her drop the rebreather. Acting quickly, Spider-Man grabbed an arrow that was floating out of her quiver and charged it with Venom before swimming towards Red Torpedo and stabbing it in the eye with it, knocking the android back and making it let go of Artemis.

Spider-Man grabbed Artemis by her waist with one hand and grabbed Robin's hand with the other. Robin quickly took out a grapple gun and shot a hook at the other end of the hallway, pulling the three of them away, while dropping a bunch of explosive birdarangs behind him to blow Red Torpedo back even further.

------------------------------

After a few minutes of swimming, Spider-Man, Robin, and Artemis emerged from the water inside the hanger and began to catch their breath.

Spider-Man: This sucks.

Artemis: No kidding.

Spider-Man heard his Spider-Sense blaring again, followed by Kid Flash's voice.

Kid Flash: LOOK OUT!

The trio narrowly managed to avoid a fireball from Red Inferno and dove back underwater. They swam and reemerged from the water, floating next to Kid Flash, Valeria, and Superboy. Spider-Man saw Valeria and widened his eyes before swimming up to Valeria and taking off the breathing mask over her mouth. Once he did so, Valeria began coughing violently as she tried to catch her breath.

Artemis: (turns to Superboy and Kid Flash) How long was she breathing that stuff?

Superboy: Five minutes, give or take. She was having a panic attack almost the entire time, which made it worse.

Robin: What about you? You guys okay?

Valeria: (breathing heavily) Help...M'gann...Kaldur...Forget us...

Spider-Man, Artemis, and Robin looked up and saw the fire cage. They immediately knew that Aqualad and Miss Martian would be held there, given their vulnerability to heat.

Spider-Man: Kaldur! Is she okay?!

Aqualad: She is unconscious. I fear she...We...cannot survive much longer.

Spider-Man widened his eyes in fear as he looked around, desperately trying to find a solution. As he did, he saw Red Inferno flying above them, preparing to throw another fireball at them.

Spider-Man: DIVE!

He, Robin, and Artemis dove underwater again, avoiding Red Inferno's fireball, and swam toward the staircase leading up to the landing platform. They reached the stairs and climbed up, but then they saw Red Torpedo emerge behind them, its left eyes sparking from the damage Spider-Man dealt him. They looked up the stairs and saw Red Inferno land on the top, cornering the trio.

Artemis took out her bow and nocked an arrow while Spider-Man primed his web-shooters.

Artemis: I'm almost out of arrows.

Spider-Man: And my webs won't do much damage against these guys.

Robin: Distract her, now!

Artemis shot an explosive arrow at Red Inferno, while Spider-Man shot an electric web at her head. Neither of them did any damage as Red Inferno ripped off the wed with ease while walking down the stairs. Robin threw a couple of birdarangs at Red Torpedo. Both of them deflecting off its metallic body, with one of them being embedded a few inches off Kid Flash's head.

Red Torpedo and Red Inferno attacked at the same time, launching streams of water and fire at the trio, who jumped off the side of the stairs and dove back underwater, making the android's attack collide with each other and create steam.

As they swam, they reached a grate, which Spider-Man ripped off. Robin, Artemis, and Spider-Man swam into the grate and swam along the vent system until they finally came out of the water crawled into the ventilation shaft and caught their breath, with Spider-Man ripping off his mask in the process. Then Red Torpedo's voice came on the PA system again.

Red Torpedo: 6 minutes.

Artemis: What do we do now?

Robin: We save them. That's how it works.

Artemis: Maybe that's how it's supposed to work, but those robots already took out five of our SUPERPOWERED friends!

Nathan: And on top of that, one of our friends has the same powers and skills as I do. So if the bots already took HER out of commission, what chance do I have?!

Robin: You two seem distraught.

Nathan: Are you kidding me?! M'gann is dying! Valeria spent the last few minutes breathing what's practically TOXIC GAS! Artemis only has one arrow left! And I'm the only one out of the three of us who has superpowers, and I didn't even give these guys a scratch! OF COURSE WE'RE FRICKIN' DISTRAUGHT!!!

Robin: Well, get traught or get dead.

He started crawling ahead, while Artemis and Nathan followed.

Artemis: How can you be so calm?

Robin: Practice. Been doing this since I was 9.

Artemis: What good is that now? What chance do we have against unrelenting machines?

Nathan suddenly stopped crawling.

Nathan: Machines... (turns to Artemis and smiles) Arty, you're a frickin' genius!

Artemis: What are you talking about, Nathan?

Nathan: These guys may be crazy powerful, but despite that, they're still machines. And an electromagnetic pulse can shut down any machine in range.

Artemis: Great! But your web-shooters better be equipped with an EMP emitter, because I know I don't have one in my quiver.

Nathan: They don't. But we can make one. If I can get to my workbench, I can fashion an emitter, but it'll need a source of high-energy pulses to power it.

Robin: (grins) You know what? That can actually work. (taps his earpiece) What do you say, KF? Doable?

What the Reds didn't realize was that the birdarang that was next to Kid Flash's head was connected to Robin's radio, allowing Kid Flash to hear Nathan's plan and give his output.

Kid Flash: Totally doable.

Then Red Torpedo announced...

Red Torpedo: Five minutes.

Kid Flash: You know, if you had more time.

Robin nodded before activating his Hologlove and typing into it.

Nathan: Robin?

Robin: I'm transmitting Cave blueprints to your mask. It should help you find the fastest way to your workbench. Just make the emitter, and I'll let you know where to meet.

Nathan: Thanks.

He put on his mask and crawled, while Artemis and Robin crawled in another direction.

------------------------------

A panel was removed from the floor and Spider-Man crawled out of it, finally reaching his room in the Cave. It had a basic single bed, a bedside drawer, and a small closet. But on the far side of the room was a high-tech workbench that contained several tools, parts, and other advanced equipment. Spider-Man pressed a button on the underside of the workbench, a pair of robotic arms, and several holographic screens appeared in front of him.

Spider-Man: Okay. Let's see...

He swiped on one of the holographic screens, which showed projections of gadgets that Spider-Man either made or was currently working on, before his eyes landed on an unfinished gadget on the table. He picked it up and examined it.

Spider-Man: This was made to create concussive blasts to knock people away. This could actually work.

He placed the gadget back on the table and pried open the casing to reveal its internal wiring before connecting a bunch of external wires to them.

Spider-Man: If I could reconfigure this thing to release pulses instead of blasts, I could turn it into a makeshift emitter.

He typed on a holographic screen and one of the arms picked it up and held it in front of Spider-Man, who picked up a set of tools.

Spider-Man: Here we go.

------------------------------

Meanwhile, Artemis and Robin had opened a panel and crawled out, entering the medical lab of the Cave, while Kid Flash guided them.

Kid Flash: Med lab. X-ray machine.

Robin walked up to the X-ray machine and removed a panel, revealing several large cylindrical components inside.

Kid Flash: You'll find small vacuum tube called vircator that converts high-energy pulses.

Robin plugged a wire into the side of the compartment and used his Hologlove.

Kid Flash: Reprogram the unit's microwave conversion from X-rays to EMPs with a cascading energy vector directed outward.

Robin did as instructed before removing the vircator.

Robin: A ripple effect. Like dropping a stone in a pond.

Kid Flash: A stone with 10-to-the-12th-power wattage, yeah. And with whatever emitter Spidey cooks up, it should boost the energy output.

Robin: So I need to combine it with whatever Nathan made and hook it up to the Cave's main generator.

Artemis: Which is...where?

Spider-Man: Robin, do you read?

Robin: Yeah, I read you.

Spider-Man: I got the emitter. Where are you?

------------------------------

Back in the hangar, Red Torpedo and Red Inferno stood on the landing platform next and looked down at Superboy, Kid Flash, and Valeria, who had the breathing mask forced over her mouth and nose again. This time, she was doing a better job controlling her breathing so that she didn't inhale as much ethyl chloride as she did earlier.

Red Torpedo: Four minutes.

In the upper levels of the hangar, Robin and Artemis removed a panel and jumped out of the vent. They walked closer to the edge and saw the main generator in the middle of the hangar.

Robin: (taps his earpiece) Spidey, where are you?

Spider-Man: Look up.

Robin and Artemis looked up and saw Spider-Man stuck above them as she turned visible. He then let go and dropped down in front of them.

Robin: What you got?

Spider-Man took the makeshift emitter out of his pocket, which was a small circular device with wires sticking out of it with a small button the ends of it having the copper material exposed. Robin grinned before taking out the vircator.

Spider-Man: That'll work.

He took the vircator from Robin and attached the emitter to the side of it. He webbed the wire ends to the vircator with webs and pressed a button before handing the vircator back to Robin.

Spider-Man: There. It's primed and ready.

Robin: Great. (taps his earpiece) Okay, make with the distraction.

Then, Kid Flash started yelling to the androids.

Kid Flash: Hey, Red Tomato! Who's your girlfriend?! Red Onion?!

And then Superboy and Valeria (to the best of her abilities) started yelling at them.

Superboy: Yeah, and by the way, worst death trap ever! We can escape anytime we want!

Valeria: Seriously! How...can you metal bums...be so stupid?!

While the androids were distracted, Robin ran to the opposite wall.

Kid Flash: I can vibrate my molecules out of here before you binary brains can count to two!

Robin: (whispers) Cover me.

He attached a line to the wall next to him and swung toward the generator while Artemis nocked her last arrow to her bow and Spider-Man took cartridges of web fluid out of his web-shooters and replaced them with full ones from his belt.

Superboy: And you can't drown a Kryptonian, dumb bots! We don't breathe air!

Valeria: And me? I can...literally EXPLODE...and blow this junk...TO PIECES!

Kid Flash: HAHAHAHAHA!

When Robin arrived at the generator, he opened a panel and connected the vircator to the generator.

Robin: Rerouting power now.

He looked at the androids and saw that they were still fully operational.

Kid Flash: And Miss Martian? I can't believe you're buying her act!

Valeria: Idiotas! That cage...is just...making her homesick!

Superboy: Yeah! You know how hot it gets in the caves of Mars?

Robin: It's not working.

Then he glanced at the bottom of the vircator and saw the problem. What he didn't notice was that Red Torpedo saw him and was preparing an attack, which both Artemis and Spider-Man saw.

Robin: The circuit's incomplete. (reaches for his utility belt) I need something conductible. A piece of metal or—

Artemis & Spider-Man: ROBIN, LOOK OUT!

A large wave of water hit Robin and knocked him off. Artemis aimed the arrow at Red Torpedo, but a fireball from Red Inferno impacted the wall behind her, making Artemis miss. Red Inferno threw another fireball directly at Artemis, but Spider-Man tackled her to the ground before it hit her.

Artemis got up and reached for her quiver but realized that she was completely out of arrows. Spider-Man noticed this and quickly pushed Artemis back.

Spider-Man: GET OUTTA HERE! GET THE LEAGUE OVER HERE HOWEVER YOU CAN!

Artemis quickly jumped back into the vent, while Spider-Man activated his Spider-Arms, jumped off the edge, and swung towards the Reds. He was effortlessly dodging the fireballs from Red Inferno before charging his fist with Venom and going for a punch at her. However, he was hit with a powerful stream of water from Red Torpedo and ended up crash-landing on the landing platform.

Spider-Man started to get up and took aim, but Red Torpedo grabbed his left wrist and lifted him up. He swung with his free hand, but his wrist was easily caught before Red Inferno started to apply pressure to his wrists. Spider-Man started using his Spider-Arms to hit Red Inferno, but they didn't even make a dent before they were ripped off his back by Red Torpedo. Spider-Man felt his wrist getting slowly crushed before he saw webs messily pouring from his wrists. He knew right then and there that his web-shooters were now destroyed.

Red Inferno let go of one of Spider-Man's hands and immediately grabbed his throat before choke-slamming him into the ground. It then pressed its foot against Spider-Man's chest, pinning him to the ground, before slowly applying pressure.

Spider-Man looked to his left and saw Red Torpedo getting Robin out of the water and placing him down on the platform. His eyes widened when he noticed that the Boy Wonder was not moving at all. Spider-Man grunted in pain as he felt his ribs slowly cracking under Red Inferno's foot.

Spider-Man looked to his right and saw that now Miss Martian AND Aqualad were laying down inside the fireball. Aqualad was barely moving while M'gann was still unconscious.

Spider-Man: M'gann. No.

He grabbed Red Inferno's ankle and tried to push her foot off his chest, but the android proved to be stronger than he thought as it applied more pressure against his chest. He yelped in pain when he felt a rib completely break, but he didn't stop trying to push back.

Red Torpedo: One minute.

Spider-Man: (grunts) Seriously. Shut up! You hunks of junk! ARGH!

He felt two more of his ribs breaking. Then, he heard a ping nearby, so looked and saw Artemis coming out of the elevator, holding her bow with both hands in front of her as she walked towards the Reds.

Artemis: I surrender. Stop the clock.

Red Inferno immediately released Spider-Man, who gasped and coughed as he widened his eyes in shock. He wanted Artemis to save herself and warn the Justice League somehow. But now, the entire Team is about to die, and no one will be the wiser.

As Artemis walked towards the Reds, she glanced at Robin, Miss Martian, and Aqualad before her eyes landed on Spider-Man before winking at him. Spider-Man squinted his eyes in confusion before noticing the single arrow in her quiver. That's when he realized what she was planning and gave her a subtle nod.

As Artemis stood before the Reds, Red Torpedo held out its hand, signaling her to hand over her bow. Suddenly, she jumped onto its hand and leaped over it towards Spider-Man. He quickly got up and locked his hands together. Once Artemis had her foot on his hands, he pushed up, launching Artemis high up in the air as she nocked the arrow and aimed at the vircator that was still hooked up to the generator.

She released the arrow and landed on the ground as the arrow hit its mark, its metal tip completing the circuit between the vircator and the generator. A powerful electromagnetic pulse was immediately released, which disabled the Reds. Once they were disabled, the fire cage disappeared and the water level decreased drastically, saving the Team.

Spider-Man held his ribs as he ran toward Aqualad and Miss Martian before collapsing to his knees next to them. He ripped his mask off and knelt closer to her, having his ear close to her nose.

Nathan: (sighs) Thank God. She's still breathing. (looks up at Aqualad) You okay?

Aqualad: I'm fine.

He nodded and got up with a groan before jumping off the platform and landing in front of Valeria. He ripped the mask off her face, causing her to start coughing again as she tried to catch her breath.

Valeria: Thanks.

Nathan: Eh, what are brothers for?

Kid Flash: What about you? We heard you yelling in pain.

Superboy: His ribs broke.

Valeria: HUH?!

Nathan: Relax, it's only three. They'll heal. Besides, I still have 21 non-broken ones.

Valeria narrowed her eyes at Nathan, who scratched the back of his head before calling out to Artemis.

Nathan: How's Robin?

Up on the platform, Artemis ran up to Robin's body to check on him. He then started coughing, which relieved her.

Artemis: He...He's breathing too.

Robin took a few breaths before looking at Artemis with a grin.

Robin: Way to get traught.

------------------------------

After dragging the Reds' bodies to the lower level of the hangar and webbing them up, during which Miss Martian regained consciousness, The Team stood with each other (with Miss Martian being held up by Aqualad) as Robin explained how he was caught by the Reds.

Robin: Figured my only shot was to surrender, pretend to drown before I actually did. Blacked out, though.

Miss Martian: (turns to Nathan) And what exactly was your plan?

Nathan: After I saw that Artemis was out of arrows, I figured the best thing to do was to keep the bots busy, buy her time to get out of here and warn the League somehow. (sighs) For a second, I thought...

He stopped when Miss Martian held his hand.

Miss Martian: I'll be fine, Nate.

Superboy: Val...

Valeria: (smiles) It's okay, Conner. I'll be alright. Just need to...wait the ethyl chloride...gets out of my system.

Meanwhile, Artemis was standing next to Wally while holding a large laser device.

Kid Flash: Will you quit playing with that thing and cut us free already?!

Artemis: It's not working, genius! EMP shuts down all machines, remember?

???: All machines present at the time.

The Team turned and saw Red Tornado flying into the hangar before landing in front of the Team.

Red Tornado: What has occurred?

Nathan: Your family decided to pay us a visit.

Artemis: Your extremely nasty family.

Red Tornado: I was not aware I had relations.

Valeria: Well, you do now. All we need...is an Earthbending bot...and we'd have the full Avatar crew.

Red Tornado ignored Valeria and walked towards the disabled Reds.

Superboy: Where have you been?

Red Tornado: Monitor duty on the Watchtower. When it became clear Cave communications were down, I attempted to investigate. But your zeta tubes were also non-functional. I transported to Providence and proceeded here.

Nathan: I thought you don't do those anymore since you became our den mother.

Aqualad: Tornado said he was covering for Green Arrow.

Valeria stared at Red Tornado with narrowed eyes. The fact that Red Tornado left the Cave only moments before the Reds attacked and then came back right after they were disabled seemed all too convenient for her.

Valeria: Right. Talk about bad timing, huh?

Red Tornado knelt down to examine the downed androids as Miss Martian pulled Sphere out of the wall and gently placed him back down.

Superboy: Hey, boy.

Sphere beeped as Artemis then fired a short burst of laser as an attempt to see if it was working.

Kid Flash, Robin, & Spider-Man: The pulse has worn off.

They looked at Red Tornado, who was reaching his hand toward Red Inferno's body.

Spider-Man: TORNADO, DON'T!

Unfortunately, it was too late. Red Tornado made contact with Red Inferno. Red Tornado's eyes glowed red as he hovered above the ground and started sucking the oxygen out of the hangar.

Due to the sudden lack of oxygen, the Team started to pass out. Valeria passed out first, followed by Miss Martian, Superboy, Kid Flash, Robin, and Aqualad, while Artemis and Nathan collapsed to their knees.

Artemis: Can't...breathe.

She then passed out.

Nathan: Son of a...

He blacked out soon after.

------------------------------

???: Spider-Man? Spider-Man, can you hear me?

Nathan groaned as he slowly opened his eyes and found Black Canary kneeling over him with a concerned look on her face that quickly disappeared when she saw Nathan wake up.

Nathan: I know a few guys who'd think they'd died and went to heaven if they were in my shoes.

Black Canary chuckled before helping Nathan up to his feet. He looked around and saw Artemis being helped up to her feet by Superman while Green Arrow stood with her, Martian Manhunter checking on Miss Martian, Flash and Captain Atom cutting Kid Flash and Superboy out, Robin talking with Batman, Aquaman chatting with Aqualad with his hands on his shoulders, and Valeria still stuck, only she now has a medical breathing mask attached to a tank full of pure oxygen while Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) used a green laser cutter construct to cut her loose.

Superman: What happened here?

Artemis: What happened? The Reds happened! Tornado and his...

That's when Nathan noticed it.

Nathan: Wait, where's Tornado? The other Reds?

Robin: Gone. All three of 'em. Gone.

The Team glanced at each other, still trying to process the events that happened earlier.
