While Captain Marvel and GreenLantern (John Stewart) repaired the hangar and the Cave security protocols weresynchronized with the Watchtower's mainframe by Martian Manhunter and CaptainAtom, the Team sat in the Cave's main area with GreenArrow and Black Canary while Aqualad was reporting to Batman about whathappened with the Reds. Aqualad and Miss Martian had recovered from theintense heat they were exposed to by the Reds. Spider-Woman had managed to burn off the ethyl chloride in her system. Although she still had a mask around her neck attached to an oxygen mask that she periodically took deep breaths with. And Spider-Man's ribs have been fully mended. Spider-Man managed to repair his mechanical Spider-Arms and make another pair of web-shooters.

Green Arrow had placed a bowl of pretzels in front of Kid Flash.

Kid Flash: Thanks, but no thanks.

Robin: Yeah. What we want are answers about Red Tornado and his siblings.

Kid Flash: Exactly.

Green Arrow picked up the bowl of pretzels, but Kid Flash stopped him.

Kid Flash: Leave the bowl.

He took the bowl from Green Arrow and started eating them. Seeing this, Spider-Man shook his head and he put his hand over Miss Martian's, which made her look at him and smile.

Meanwhile, Superboy looked over at Aqualad, who was talking to Batman. He decided to use his super-hearing to know what they were talking about.

Aqualad: It was during the Taipei with Red Arrow. Sportsmaster revealed the possibility of a mole within the Team. In light of last night's attack, Tornado would appear to be the traitor. Though whether he betrayed us willingly or was preprogrammed is still—

Superboy: YOU KNEW?!

He lunged at Aqualad and grabbed him by the scruff of his suit, glaring at him angrily. Everyone immediately got off the table and approached Superboy and Aqualad.

Superboy: That android and his maniac family nearly killed Valeria!

Spider-Woman: Conner, what are you doing?

Superboy: Kaldur knew we had a traitor among us and SAID NOTHING!

Hearing this practically shocked the rest of the Team.

Robin: You knew?

Kid Flash: And didn't tell us?

Aqualad: I sought to protect the Team from—

Artemis: Protect us from what? Knowledge that might've said our lives?

Spider-Woman: Is that what you call what happened last night?! Protection? M'gann getting roasted alive, me having poison pumped into my lungs, Nathan almost getting crushed, that's you protecting us?!

Aqualad glanced at Spider-Man, who was being uncharacteristically quiet the whole time. Spider-Man just glared at Aqualad while standing in front of Miss Martian.

Batman: Enough.

Everyone looked at Batman. When Batman glared at Superboy, the clone let go of Aqualad.

Batman: With Red Tornado missing, the Team will now be overseen by rotating supervisors. Captain Marvel has volunteered to take the first shift.

The aforementioned Leaguer stepped next to Batman, hands on his hips and a dumb grin on his face.

Captain Marvel: I'm really looking forward to hanging with you guys.

The Team shared a questioning glance at each other, while Superboy turned to Aqualad.

Superboy: After I dismantle Red Tornado, you and I are gonna—

Batman: Red Tornado is a member of the Justice League. That makes him a League responsibility. You will leave him to us.

Spider-Man: (scoffs) I'm sorry, but you got it all wrong, Batman.

Batman glared at Spider-Man, but the web-slinger refused to falter under his gaze. Instead, he kept going.

Spider-Man: RT and his family attacked us on our home turf. They put our lives in jeopardy. That makes finding him our responsibility just as much as it is yours. So if you think you can just sideline us...

Batman: It is not up for discussion, Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: It became up for discussion the second you brought it up.

Batman and Spider-Man both glared at each other for what felt like an eternity. Spider-Man felt a hand wrap around his forearm, and he turned around and saw Miss Martian giving him a pleading look. Spider-Man sighed as he let Miss Martian pull him away from Batman.

Batman: I have another assignment for this team.

Several holograms appeared showing news articles from multiple newspaper companies, all of them having similar headlines regarding a gorilla with a gun attacking Mayor Hill.

Kid Flash: "Gotham Mayor attacked by Guerilla Gorilla."

Spider-Man: Huh. Not the weirdest thing I've heard of.

Superboy: (whispers to Spider-Woman) Was this the only thing he could find to distract us?

Spider-Woman: Shh.

Robin: Batman, please. Tell me you're not sending us on this joke of a wile ape chase.

Batman: I never joke about the mission.

Robin immediately looked away from Batman.

Batman: I've checked the sources. I've studied the pattern. Mayor Hill's encounter is only the latest in a series of incidents. (turns to Aqualad) Aqualad, you and your team will depart for India and check this out.

Aqualad nodded before Spider-Man and Spider-Woman walked past him. Spider-Woman intentionally barged Aqualad's shoulder as the other members of the Team walked past him.

Kid Flash: (scoffs) "Your team."

They reached the hangar and started boarding the Bioship. As Artemis boarded, Miss Martian turned around and faced Spider-Man.

Miss Martian: I've put yours and Valeria's stealth suits in the ship. I thought it'd be quicker if you changed on the way.

Spider-Man: Thanks, M'gann. Look, I know I probably sound obnoxious, but are you sure you're okay? After last night...

Miss Martian: I'm fine, Nathan. You don't have to worry about me.

Spider-Man looked around, making sure nobody else was around, before speaking telepathically.

Spider-Man: 'Well, I'd be a lousy boyfriend if I didn't worry about my girlfriend every once in a while, wouldn't I?'

Miss Martian giggled just as Robin and Kid Flash arrived.

Kid Flash: What's got you so giggly?

Miss Martian: Oh, it's nothing.

She gave Spider-Man a smile before boarding the Bioship. Spider-Man then looked at Robin and Kid Flash.

Spider-Man: What?

Robin just smirked, while Kid Flash just tilted his head sideways. Just then, Spider-Woman and Superboy were about to board the Bioship, but they stopped when Superboy noticed Sphere behind them.

Superboy: Uh-uh. Go.

Sphere beeped.

Spider-Woman: We'll be fine, boy. Go on.

Sphere let out a few sad beeps before turning around and rolling away. Both Superboy and Spider-Woman boarded the Bioship just as Captain Marvel arrived.

Robin: You're coming with?

Captain Marvel: Sure. We'll have a blast.

He boarded the Bioship while Spider-Man just narrowed his eyes at Captain Marvel's chidish behavior.

Robin: Translation: He blames us for Red Fiasco. He doesn't trust us.

The three noticed Aqualad behind them.

Kid Flash: It's a big club.

He and Robin boarded the Bioship, leaving Spider-Man and Aqualad outside.

Aqualad: Nathan...

Spider-Man turned around and boarded the Bioship, not even bothering to give Aqualad the time of day.

September 23, 21:36 IST

As the invisible Bioship hovered over a clearing in the jungle, Robin and Artemis jumped off the Bioship while tethered to it and landed on the ground. The Bioship itself landed in the clearing as Kid Flash, Spider-Man (in his stealth suit), Superboy, Spider-Woman (in her stealth suit), Aqualad, Miss Martian, and Captain Marvel stepped off while Robin and Artemis did a sweep of the area.

Robin: All clear.

Aqualad: Switch to stealth, and we'll review mission parameters.

Aqualad, Miss Martian, and Kid Flash switched their suits to their stealth colors.

Kid Flash: Parameters? We don't need no stinking parameters.

Robin: It's recon. We know what to do.

Both Robin and Kid Flash walked off.

Aqualad: Kid, Robin...

Robin and Kid Flash turned back around.

Robin: The three of us started this team because the Justice League was keeping secrets from us.

Kid Flash: Or did you forget that like you forgot to tell us about the mole?

He put on his goggles before he and Robin ran off into the jungle. After that, Superboy walked up ti Spider-Woman and held her arm, which earned him a glare from her.

Superboy: Come on, I'll keep you safe.

With a huff, Spider-Woman ripped her arm off of Superboy's grasp.

Spider-Woman: [Spanish] <You're my boyfriend, not my protector. This isn't some crappy telenovela from the 90s, so stop acting like it.>

Superboy: (confused) I just wanna protect you.

Artemis: Like Aqualad protected us? I'm not sure your "protection" or your patronizing is good for our health.

She walked off with Spider-Woman into the jungle, while Miss Martian looked back at Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: 'Be careful out there, okay?'

Miss Martian: 'I will. And the same goes for you, Nathan.'

Spider-Man: (chuckles) 'Yes, ma'am.'

Miss Martian smiled before flying off after Artemis and Spider-Woman, while Superboy turned to Aqualad.

Superboy: Why didn't you stop them?! You're supposed to be in charge!

Aqualad: I am—

Superboy raised his hand at Aqualad's face, signaling him to shut up, before leaping away. This left Spider-Man, Aqualad, and Captain Marvel.

Aqualad: Spider-Man, you've kept secrets from your friends as well. Surely you understand why I had to do the same.

Spider-Man: See, that's the problem. I did it to protect them. They find out who I am, that would immediately put a target on their back. Heck, Peter, Gwen, MJ, my dad, they are already in danger for knowing who I am under the mask. I'm just lucky that nobody else knows that they know.

Aqualad: I understand—

Spider-Man: Shut up! I'm not done! The big difference is that you decided to suspect everyone, even the ones that YOU KNOW could never be the mole. If it was just Superboy, Artemis, Spider-Woman, Miss Martian, or even me, then maybe, just MAYBE, I'd get it. I wouldn't like it, but at least I could understand the logic behind it. But you even suspected Robin AND Kid Flash. You've known those knuckleheads way longer than I do, so you should've realized that there's no chance in hell that they could ever be the mole. Unless all those how-many-years of friendship meant nothing to you this whole time?

Aqualad looked down in shame. Spider-Man shook his head before swinging away in the same direction Superboy leaped off.

Captain Marvel: Um, did I miss the part where you actually said what the plan was?

Aqualad let out a sigh before walking away, while Captain Marvel followed him.

When Superboy landed back on the ground after another leap, he heard a thwipping sound behind him followed by a soft thud. He turned around and saw Spider-Man walking up behind him.

Superboy: I could handle going alone.

Spider-Man: No offense, SB, but you're not exactly the most subtle person on the planet. Besides, we need to talk.

Superboy: About what?

Spider-Man: You know what. Come on.

Spider-Man walked past him, and Superboy sighed before following him. Neither of them were aware of the pack of wolves following them.

In another part of the jungle, Aqualad and Captain Marvel stopped when they noticed gorilla paw prints in the dirt.

Captain Marvel: Guess this is where Mayor Hill's "monkey business" went down. So at least we've confirmed his story, right? Aqualad?

Aqualad ignored Captain Marvel at first as he took a few steps forward, but then he turned around to face him.

Aqualad: My apologies, Captain. I am plagued by doubts.

Captain Marvel raised an eyebrow.

Aqualad: Spider-Man was right. Perhaps I was wrong to withhold—

They heard thumping noises nearby. They sounded like they were getting closer to them in all directions. The ground rumbled before an elephant the size of a building emerged from the tree line.

Captain Marvel flew up to the elephant and pushed him back, but the elephant grabbed Captain Marvel with its trunk and threw him into a tree.

Aqualad looked behind him just to see another super-sized elephant emerge. He jumped out of the way before it could stomp on him.

Meanwhile, Captain Marvel was slowly getting up before noticing a red-eyed tiger growling at him. It ran away when Aqualad got flung in front of Captain Marvel by an elephant.

Meanwhile, Superboy and Spider-Man were walking deeper into the forest while they talked.

Superboy: I was just trying to protect her. How exactly is that wrong?

Spider-Man: You made it sound like Val wasn't capable of handling herself, which you and I both know is far from true.

Superboy: Why are you casual about it? M'gann almost died with her. I thought you'd be more worried about them.

Spider-Man: You think I'm not? That's my girlfriend and my sister we're talking about, of course I'm worried.

Superboy: Okay, then—

Spider-Man: But I'm trusting them to look after themselves.

Superboy looked at Spider-Man with furrowed eyebrows.

Spider-Man: Look, trust is a two-way street, especially when it comes to relationships. If one half can't trust the other, then their relationship will fall apart. I get that you're worried about Valeria's safety, but if you can't find it in yourself to trust her, then maybe you shouldn't be in a relationship with her.

Superboy's expression softened as Spider-Man told him this.

Superboy: (sighs) You're right. Maybe I should try and trust her more—

He stopped when Spider-Man quickly snapped his head towards the bushes.

Superboy: Spider-Sense?

Spider-Man: Yeah. We got company.

He shot a web at Superboy's chest and pulled him just as an enlarged wolf burst from the bushes. The wolf missed, but soon five more wolves emerged and attacked Superboy and Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: This looks like at least 5 animal rights violations!

He dodged one of the wolves' lunges and kicked another one away before it could attack Superboy. He looked up and saw a wolf with white fur sitting on a rock watching them.

Spider-Man: 'That's probably the alpha of the pack.'

His Spider-Sense rang, but he got tackled into the ground by a wolf before he could react.

In another part of the jungle, Robin and Kid Flash noticed three large vultures flying towards them. They both dodged the vultures before beginning to run.

Robin: I thought vultures only ate dead meat.

He threw a couple of birdarangs that exploded behind the vultures.

Kid Flash: Yeah. These are some very proactive scavengers.

Robin: Proactive and super-sized. You thinking what I'm thinking?

Kid Flash: Kobra-Venom?

Robin: Yeah?

With Artemis, Spider-Woman, and Miss Martian, the three were walking before Spider-Woman felt her Spider-Sense tingling. He looked at the river just as a giant crocodile lunged at Miss Martian. Miss Martian caught the crocodile's jaw before Spider-Woman jumped at it and punched it away with a Venom Punch. Artemis aimed at the crocodile before Spider-Woman noticed the silhouette of another crocodile approaching Artemis in the water behind her.

Spider-Woman: ARTEMIS, LOOK OUT!

Artemis looked behind her just before getting launched into the air by the second crocodile. It bit Artemis' quiver and pulled her into the water, and Spider-Woman and Miss Martian dove in after them.

Spider-Woman wrapped her arms around the crocodile's neck and started shocking it with her Venom, making it squirm, while Miss Martian unclasped Artemis' quiver and pulled her away from the crocodile. When Miss Martian and Artemis flew out of the water, Artemis coughed as she tried to catch her breath.

Artemis: Okay. Nearly drowning two nights in a row is way less fun than it sounds.

Back underwater, Spider-Woman started losing her grip on the crocodile's neck, so she took out her stingers and stabbed them into the collar around its neck, destroying it. The crocodile stopped struggling while Spider-Woman let go of it. The crocodile looked at Spider-Woman before turning around and swimming away.

Spider-Woman tilted her head. She was wondering what the collar was doing to the crocodile that made it so aggressive.

Miss Martian: 'Valeria, come back up. We're clear.'

Spider-Woman swam back up to the surface and caught her breath. She saw Miss Martian and Artemis standing on the coast, so she swam towards them.

Spider-Woman: Did either of you notice the collars on these guys?

Miss Martian: I did. And I know where they came from.

------------------------------

Meanwhile, Robin and Kid Flash separated as they tried to get away from the vultures. Robin dove between the branches and the vulture got stuck in them due to his size.

Kid Flash, on the other hand, ran up a tree and launched him into the air, curling his body up into a ball, and knocked out the other vulture before landing back on the ground.

Superboy got bitten in the shoulder before he flung the wolf off towards Spider-Man, who webbed the wolf up on a nearby tree. Both Superboy and Spider-Man punched another wolf into the ground. They then turned to the white wolf, which was still sitting on the rock. Spider-Man looked at the wolf and saw the collar around its neck, then he looked around and saw that the other wolves had similar collars around their necks.

Spider-Man: You see the collars?

Superboy: Yeah. I've seen these before in Belle Reve.

Spider-Man and Superboy looked at each other and nodded. Without words, they both figured out how to beat the wolves.

They looked back at the white wolf and took their battle stances. The wolf jumped off the rock and ran straight at them.

Captain Marvel punched an elephant away before the other one smacked him with its trunk. On the ground, Aqualad noticed the collar around the elephant's neck sparking.

He took out his Waterbearers and vaulted over the elephant's trunk as it tried to swipe at him. Aqualad jumped high and pulled the collar off the elephant's neck before landing in front of it.

The elephant started at Aqualad for a few seconds before turning around and walking into the jungle. Aqualad called out to Aqualad, who was fighting the other elephant.

Aqualad: Remove the collar!

Captain Marvel: On it.

He flew towards the elephant, avoiding its trunk, and punched the collar off its neck. The elephant stopped being aggressive and walked back into the jungle as Captain Marvel landed next to Aqualad.

Captain Marvel: Pretty sweet, the way you figured out the problem was the collars.

Aqualad: But the collars indicate an intelligence behind this attack. The rest of the team may also be at risk. Team, status report.

He tried contacting the Team using his earpiece, but all he got was static.

Aqualad: Comm is jammed. And Miss Martian failed to establish a telepathic link before we split up.

Captain Marvel: Actually, you let everyone split up before communications were set.

Aqualad: They would not listen!

Captain Marvel: I guess. But back at the Cave, Batman stopped everyone from arguing with one word. I'm surprised Spider-Man had the guts to step up to him the way he did.

Aqualad: Because Batman is...Batman.

Captain Marvel: Hey, you don't have to tell me. When I first joined the League, all he did was boss me around. And it's hard not to take it personally. But I never disobeyed an order, and that's probably what kept me alive.

Aqualad: Batman takes command. He has to, for the good of the League. Thank you for helping me understand.

Captain Marvel: (points at his head) Hey, wisdom of Solomon.

Miss Martian: 'Aqualad, can you hear me?'

Aqualad: Yes, Miss Martian. Report.

Miss Martian: 'Artemis, Spider-Woman, and I were attacked by animals wearing inhibitor collars, like those used on convicts at Belle Reve prison.'

While Aqualad was communicating with Miss Martian, Captain Marvel noticed the tiger he saw earlier looking at him from the bushed before turning around and walking away.

Captain Marvel: Cool, the tiger! I'll be right back!

Aqualad: Captain, wait—

Captain Marvel flew off after the tiger.

Aqualad: (mimicking Captain Marvel) Hey, speed of Mercury.

As Captain Marvel flew after the tiger, he stopped when he saw the tiger stop and turn to face him while growling.

Captain Marvel: Hey there, mister. Bet you'd like good old Cap to take that nasty collar off you, huh?

He landed in front of the tiger, which stopped growling. The collar around its neck shocked the tiger, making it back away from Captain Marvel. When Captain Marvel tried to approach it, several poles emerged from the ground and created a force field that weakened him and made him collapse onto the ground.

Just before passing out, Captain Marvel noticed a gorilla with a beret and a pack attached to a machine gun drop down from a tree and stand next to the tiger.

Back on the river, Artemis sat on a log and poured water out of her quiver while Spider-Woman leaned against a tree and checked her web-shooters.

Aqualad: 'Miss Martian, I need a telepathic link-up with the entire Team. Now.'

Miss Martian: 'Link established.'

Artemis: 'Should he really still be giving us orders? And should you really be following them?'

Spider-Woman: 'Since I got my lungs pumped with ethyl chloride because of him, I'm gonna go with no.'

Aqualad: 'Listen, please...'

Kid Flash: '(sarcastically) Oh, good. Aqualad's voice in my head. I've so missed that.'

Robin: 'Hey, Kaldur. KF and I were attacked by giant vultures. Course, since we're moles, you probably think we attacked ourselves?'

Artemis: 'If he did, he wouldn't tell you.'

Spider-Woman: 'Superboy, are you online? Or you just pouting?'

Miss Martian: 'Spider-Man, you're being uncharacteristically non-hyperverbal. Are you okay?'

Meanwhile, Superboy was being bitten on the shoulder by the white wolf while Spider-Man was on its back with his arms around its neck.

Spider-Man: 'Sorry. Conner and I got a canine problem on our hand.'

Superboy: 'Yeah. We'll call back later.'

The wolf threw Superboy into a tree and then threw itself against a rock, making Spider-Man let go of it.

Meanwhile, Aqualad was tracking down Captain Marvel when he found four metal poles emerged from the ground. He found track marks that indicated that something was being dragged from the area between the poles and into the bushes.

Kid Flash: 'What gets me is how nonchalant he is about not telling us.'

Robin: 'He should be chalant. Way chalant. Extremely chalant.'

Artemis: 'How can we be a team if he doesn't trust us with his secrets?'

Spider-Woman: 'Or if Conner can't trust us to take care of ourselves?'

Kid Flash: 'Did he really think you or I could have been the mole?'

Robin: 'We've known each other for years! And what's worse, this dude really thought SPIDER-MAN was the mole!'

Miss Martian: 'Exactly! After everything Nathan's done for New York, after everything he's been through even before he joined the Team, how could Aqualad even think that he'd betray everything he stood for?'

As the Team bickered, Aqualad became increasingly annoyed.

Artemis: 'Trust is a two-way street.'

Spider-Woman: 'And I know for a fact that you wouldn't like it if ANY OF US kept secrets from YOU, Kaldur'ahm!'

Artemis: 'Not that we'd do that.'

Miss Martian: 'Never.'

Aqualad: 'Enough.'

He ripped off one of the poles from the ground in frustration.

Aqualad: 'Captain Marvel has been captured, and we must act as a team to save him.'

Kid Flash: '(scoffs) Under your leadership? I don't think so.'

Aqualad then spoke in an authoritative tone that took everyone by surprise.

Aqualad: 'This is NOT up for debate. You all chose me to lead. When the mission is over, if you wish to select a new leader, I will happily step down. But until that time, I am in command here.'

He tossed the pole in his hands to the ground and walked into the jungle.

Captain Marvel slowly opened his eyes and saw a bright light shining down on him from above. He saw several monitors and IV bags around him. He then looked down and saw the tiger looking at him before he heard a robotic voice speak with a French accent.

???: The brain enhancements of this tigre already pays dividends, non?

The tiger walked away.

???: For he has brought us a prize most glorious. Le Capitaine Merveille

That's when Captain Marvel realized that he was strapped to a table with an inhibitor collar around his neck. He tried to move, but there was something wrong.

Captain Marvel: Why can't I move?

???: It is obvious, mais non? Your collar is set to prohibit tout le mouvement from the neck down. I have allowed you to retain the power of speech as your reactions may be instructif during la procédure.

Captain Marvel: La procédure? What procedure?

???: I have often pondered the effect of your powers on the cerebral cortex. I long to see le wisdom de Solomon up close. Monsieur Mallah, prepare for surgery.

The gorilla that Captain Marvel saw in the jungle, now known as Mallah, appeared into the light wearing his beret along with blue scrubs and a medical mask.

In the jungle, the Team (minus Spider-Man and Superboy) followed Aqualad until they reached an abandoned compound with several metal poles surrounding it. Spider-Woman and Miss Martian stood on a tree while invisible, Artemis nocked an arrow into her bow, Kid Flash put on his goggles, Robin activated his Hologlove, and Aqualad hid behind a tree.

Miss Martian: 'I'll fly over.'

Kid Flash: 'Negatory. The field extends like a dome over the whole compound.'

Robin: 'Pylons are insulated, but one good shock could cause a momentary gap.'

Spider-Woman: 'I can handle that.'

Artemis: 'I see a target.'

She aimed an arrow at a button on the side of the main entrance.

Aqualad: 'Then be ready to hit it. Spider-Woman, go.'

While still invisible, Spider-Woman leaped off the tree and approached the invisible dome. She took out her stingers and charged them up with Venom before stabbing into the dome. She then slowly pulled her arms apart, which created a small gap in front of Spider-Woman's head.

Kid Flash: 'Now!'

Artemis released her arrow, which flew right by Spider-Woman's head, and hit the button, which disabled the dome. The field powered down as Spider-Woman retracted her stingers back into her wrists.

Spider-Woman: 'All good. Come on.'

Everyone went out of cover, but Robin stopped when he noticed a baboon with a collar around its neck looking down at them from the roof. The baboon screamed, which caused the compound's alarm system to go off as more baboons jumped off the roof to attack the Team.

Inside the compound, a robotic arm was holding a scalpel over Captain Marvel's head while Mallah looked at one of the screens and saw the Team fighting the baboons outside.

???: Go, Mallah. Deal with les intruders. I can handle mon Capitaine's brain extraction myself.

Mallah ripped off his mask and scrubs as he walked away.

Outside the compound, a baboon lunged at Aqualad, but he used his Waterbearers, which took the shape of batons, to smack the baboon away. He noticed the collar around its neck as it lunged at him again, so he smacked it into the ground and ripped the collar off its neck. The baboon quickly got up and ran away.

Aqualad: Remove their collars!

Spider-Woman caught a baboon that tried to jump at her before taking out her stinger and slicing the collar off its neck. She threw the baboon away, and it ran, before she noticed Robin being cornered by two baboons.

Robin: Sounds easy when he says it.

Spider-Woman: Hang on, Robin.

She shot a web line at a baboon and pulled it off Robin. Spider-Woman used her stinger to slice its collar off as it flew past her. The baboon landed before running away.

Artemis shot an arrow at the collar of the remaining baboon that was holding Robin, and it ran away. When Robin saw two baboons behind Artemis, he threw two bordarangs at their collars and breaking them, and the baboons ran away.

Spider-Woman's Spider-Sense blared, which made her look back at the compound to see Mallah walking out of it with a pack on his back and a machine gun in his hand. She saw the gorilla sniff before grabbing Miss Martian, who tried to sneak past him while invisible, before slamming her into the ground.

Mallah aimed his machine gun at Miss Martian, but Spider-Woman shot a web at his face. When Mallah tore the web off, he was met with Spider-Woman kicking him in the chest with enough force to make him stagger backward.

Spider-Woman: Paws off, Attar! Go back to that Tim Burton movie, where you belong!

Mallah let out a loud roar as he aimed his gun at Spider-Woman, who leaped out of the way before he pulled the trigger.

Inside the compound, a metal cylinder full of water appeared behind Captain Marvel's head.

Captain Marvel: You're not taking my brain!

???: S'il vous plaît, Capitaine, do not struggle. Brain extraction is largely painless, and the benefits are enormous. Just look what it has done for me.

The figure emerged from the shadows, revealing a robotic cylindrical body with a glass dome on top that has a human brain attached to wired inside.

As Captain Marvel looked at Brain's form, he noticed a laser device approaching his head.

Captain Marvel: That thing won't work on me.

Brain: Perhaps. But it works on solid steel, so I'll try my luck.

The laser began powering up.

Brain: I'm told you have the courage of Achilles, mais non? Perhaps you should have asked for his invulnerability instead.

Suddenly, the tiger lunged at Brain and the laser device, sending them both away from Captain Marvel. The tiger growled at Brain as he stood back upright.

Brain: TRAITOR! You will suffer for that!

A device came out of the side of Brain's body, and the tiger started getting shocked by the collar around its neck.

Captain Marvel: Stop it! Stop!

Suddenly, Mallah broke through the wall into the compound, his body still sparking with orange electricity. Brain looked at Mallah and then at the hole he made only to see Spider-Woman walking in with her hands sparking with orange electricity.

Spider-Woman: Oh, buddy. PETA's gonna be so pissed when they see what you've been doing.

Behind her, Miss Martian, Kid Flash, Robin, Artemis, and Aqualad entered the compound, and the speedster noticed the Brain.

Kid Flash: It's the Brain!

Artemis: Ugh, I can see it's a brain.

Kid Flash: Not A brain. THE Brain.

Brain: In the flesh, uh, so to speak. (turns to Mallah) Mallah.

Mallah takes out a remote and presses a button. When he does, four pylons emerge from the ground and create a field that weakens the Team.

Aqualad: 'Spider-Man, Miss Martian, Superboy, now.'

A web line was attached to the remote before it was pulled away from Mallah's paw. In front of Mallah, Spider-Man turned visible with the remote in his hand.

Spider-Man: Nice try, Dr. Cornelius.

He tossed the remote behind him, and Miss Martian caught it midair with her telepathy. She telepathically pressed a button to shut down the field, making the Team able to stand back up. Miss Martian made the remote hover in front of Spider-Woman, who snatched it and crushed it with one hand.

Suddenly, another hole was made behind Mallah. Mallah and Brain turn around and saw Superboy and the white wolf, which had it collar removed, standing there.

The wolf lunged at Mallah and knocked him onto the ground. When Mallah got up and grabbed his machine gun, Kid Flash ran up to him, kicked him in the chest, and ran off just as Mallah started shooting. Both Robin and Spider-Man swung in and kicked Mallah in the head, while Spider-Woman used her stingers to slice the machine gun's ammo belt.

Miss Martian telepathically lifted Mallah off the ground and slammed him back down before Superboy jumped at him. Mallah used his machine gun as a baseball bat and hit Superboy away, but Artemis sent him back with an explosive arrow that destroyed his pack.

Meanwhile, Aqualad ran up to Captain Marvel and removed the inhibitor collar off him. When he did, the restraints retracted into the table, setting Captain Marvel free.

Captain Marvel: Thanks.

He then approached the tiger and removed its inhibitor collar.

Captain Marvel: Now, one good turn deserves another.

Before they knew it, Brain and Mallah were completely surrounded by the Team, Captain Marvel, the wolf, and the tiger from all sides.

Mallah let out a roar.

Superboy: Try it. I hate monkeys.

Spider-Man: Well, I already pissed off PETA. Might as well keep going.

Brain: No, Mallah. This will not be our Waterloo.

The panels on Brain's robotic body opened, and several contraptions extended from his body.

Brain: Au revoir, mes amis.

Kid Flash: GET DOWN!

Everyone took a battle stance before the lights went out. When the lights came back on a second later, Brain and Mallah had mysteriously disappeared.

Kid Flash: Wait. That big weapon thing was...a light switch?

Spider-Woman: Better question, how did they just escape? There were only two ways they could've gotten out that fast, and we were all blocking them.

After rounding up all of the animals that still had inhibitor collars on, the Team made their way back to the Bioship and began removing them. As they were doing this, Artemis and Kid Flash were walking back to the Bioship, with the latter grinning.

Artemis: What are you grinning about?

Kid Flash: One word: Souvenir.

He held up Mallah's beret and put it on his head.

Artemis: Two words: Gorilla lice.

As she walked ahead, Kid Flash stopped with a look of shock.

Kid Flash: Huh?! Oh, man!

He took off the beret and groaned in disgust as he held it up.

Meanwhile, Aqualad had removed the collar from a baboon, which ran into the jungle afterward, and then Captain Marvel spoke to the tiger.

Captain Marvel: That's the last of the collars?

The tiger let out a short roar as if answering with a "yes."

Captain Marvel: And I can count on you to keep the other animals out of trouble?

The tiger roared again.

Captain Marvel: Good. I'll be back for a visit, I promise.

He scratched the tiger's neck, making him purr before the tiger ran into the jungle as Captain Marvel waved goodbye.

Captain Marvel: I think I'll call him Mr. Tawny.

Spider-Man chuckled before looking over to Superboy and Spider-Woman, who were with the white wolf.

Superboy: Rest of the pack is gone. What are you still doing here?

Spider-Woman: I think he wants to stay with you.

Superboy: Can I keep him?

Spider-Man and Kid Flash couldn't help but laugh.

Kid Flash: First the Sphere, now this beast?

Miss Martian: You really have a habit of collecting strays.

Spider-Woman: Maybe because he's such a stray himself. [Spanish] <Aren't you?>

Superboy: I'm sorry, Val. I was just worried.

Spider-Woman knelt down and spoke quietly to Superboy.

Spider-Woman: I know, and I think that's sweet, Conner. But we should keep the romance thing outside of missions, deal?

Superboy: (smiles) Deal.

Kid Flash: Well, he's gonna need a name. Uh, how's about Krypto?

The wolf snarled.

Superboy: Pass.

Miss Martian: I'm pretty sure that's taken.

Spider-Man: Okay. How does Riley sound?

The wolf snarled again.

Spider-Woman: We're not naming the wolf after a dog from a video game.

Spider-Man: Why not? Riley's a good boy, and so is this guy. Ain't ya, boy?

He gave the wolf a scratch behind the ears, which made the wolf groan contently. That moment was shortlived, however, when everyone heard Robin ask Aqualad the question that they've all been wondering...

Robin: Look, I need to know. Why did you keep the mole intel a secret?

Aqualad saw that everyone was looking at him, expecting an answer, which he gave...

Aqualad: The source of the tip was Sportsmaster.

Artemis: WHAT?! You can't trust him!

Spider-Man immediately noticed Artemis' reaction. He figured that there was something relating Artemis to Sportsmaster if that was her reaction, but decided not to say anything about it.

Aqualad: I do not. It seemed possible, even likely, that he was attempting to divide the team with false information.

Spider-Woman: And it almost worked.

Robin: But you had to consider it might be true.

Aqualad: Yes. As leader, I did. In which case, I did not wish to alert the traitor.

Robin: (sighs) Hate to say it, but...makes sense.

Aqualad: I am still prepared to step down.

Kid Flash: All in favor of keeping Aqualad as leader?

Everyone raised their hands. Robin gave Aqualad a grin, and Aqualad responded with a nod.

Captain Marvel: Guess it's unanimous.

He shook Aqualad's hand.

Captain Marvel: See you tomorrow.

Aqualad: You're not coming back with us?

Captain Marvel: Nah. Gotta fly.

He flew off before anyone could respond.

Spider-Man: You'd think this guy was a kid trapped in a grown man's body with the way he's acting.

Miss Martian smacked Spider-Man's chest.

Spider-Man: Ow.

Miss Martian: Behave, Nathan.

Spider-Man: What? You know I'm right.

Miss Martian shook her head with a smile on her face as she and Spider-Man boarded the Bioship while Superboy and Spider-Woman stayed outside with the wolf.

Spider-Woman: So what are you gonna call him?

Superboy: What's wrong with Wolf?

Spider-Woman started giggling, which confused Superboy.

Superboy: What?

Spider-Woman: Nothing, Conner. Absolutely nothing.

She kept giggling as she got on the Bioship, while Superboy and Wolf followed her.

While Aqualad stood near the entrance, he noticed Spider-Man standing next to him.

Aqualad: You were right, Nathan. Even if the intel regarding the mole was legitimate, it was still wrong of me to suspect everyone the way I have, especially the ones I would happily call my friends. For that, I am sorry.

Spider-Man: You're not the only one who screwed up, Kaldur.

Aqualad looked confused.

Spider-Man: Usually, I'd be more understanding, but after the whole Reds things...after what almost happened to M'gann and Valeria...

Aqualad: You let your emotions cloud your judgment.

Spider-Man: Yeah. So I guess we're both sorry.

Aqualad held his hand out in front of Spider-Man, who looked at it, then at Aqualad.

Aqualad: Perhaps we both could, as you would say, "let bygones be bygones."

Spider-Man chuckled.

Aqualad: I have used that term correctly, yes?

Spider-Man: Yeah, you did. I just never thought I'd actually hear you say it.

Aqualad smiled a bit, and then Spider-Man took Aqualad's hand and shook it.

Spider-Man: Come on. We should get going.

He walked into the Bioship, and Aqualad followed him.
