The Minotaur: I came in like a wrecking ball

(A/N: Short chapter because I did not have the motivation to write this also I promised a chapter before my break so here it goes!)

[CHANDLER'S POV]

I don't have thin patience like the gods or the Ares kids, but I swear if Connor yells one more thing in my face, I will throw him out of the van.

Context? About an hour after we all accepted the quest, Kenzie, Conner, Logan, Travis, and I packed most of our things and hurried on to Argos so he could get us to the city so we could think of a plan. Sounds easy enough, right? Not when you have five ADHD kids sitting in a cramped space for an hour.

It was fine for the first three minutes until the Stolls began to sing 'Old McDonald' for twenty minutes straight. Logan and Kenzie joined them for the first ten minutes until the Stolls decided to sing the rest of it themselves (which is weird considering they sang the same parts for ten minutes). They only shut up when Argus got fed up with the singing and told them to shut up, well, he groaned at them but still the same thing.

Now they've just been talking about random things that come to their heads for the rest of the time.

"Maybe we should talk about something else?" Kenzie suggested. "Maybe about the Prophecy?"

"Didn't we already talk about that hours ago?" Travis questioned.

"Yeah," I agreed. "But it's best if we hear it again and try to get a better understanding of it."

Kenzie agreed with me, but we knew we only wanted to shut the Stolls up. It's a good thing they agreed.

I then looked at Logan, who was just staring into space. I snapped my fingers in his face a few times to get him back, but it didn't work. I sighed, grabbed a bottle of water (don't worry, it's not a plastic bottle, I would never), and splashed it in his face, finally snapping him out of his trance.

"Wha-huh? What?" he looked at us.

"Are you okay?" Kenzie asked.

Logan nodded. "Yeah, yeah, I'm just tired," he said.

"I can see," I said. "It doesn't look like you slept at all last night."

Logan groaned. "I just kept worrying about her," he admitted. "It's hard not to when the person I love the most has been captured by the most arrogant asshole in the world!"

I nodded. "I heard about your last quest when you encountered Luke," I mentioned. "It's been a few weeks since he tried anything, lord knows what would've happened if you made a kid like him wait that long."

Logan nodded. "Now I realize this Momus guy has both my mom and sister and Luke is working for him and is probably going to do something to them if I don't get there in time, and if the prophecy is what I fear it would be, my sister has three days until something terrible happens to her."

Kenzie opened up a book of hers. "I found some stuff about Momus yesterday."

Both Logan and I turned to her. "You did?" Logan asked.

Kenzie nodded. "He's such an irrelevant god that he only has a few stories about him compared to other gods," she explained. "He's the son of Nyx and the God of Satire, mockery and poets. He was expelled from Mount Olympus by Zeus because of how insulting he was. Some sources say that he also helped with the Trojan War, though he criticized Zeus for how he started it."

Huh...so he's the dark equivalent of Apollo, huh? Interesting. "Is there anything else we should know about him?" I asked.

Kenzie shook her head. "That's pretty much it, though it does say that he has a twin sister named Oizys. Overall, that's all I could get about him."

We were all silent for a moment. "If he's so 'important' why don't we know more about him?"

"Maybe the gods don't want him to be important?" Travis inquired.

"Or maybe the other documents about him were lost to time," Kenzie suggested. "And this was all they could preserve?"

Logan hugged his chest. "Maybe," he muttered. "But still, why would he capture my family? And if he had my mom for years, why would he let Heather and me out of his sight? What does he want with us?"

It dropped to silence once again. And it was like that for a minute.

Travis looked around. "Hey, does anyone hear thunder?"

We all listened and it did sound like thunder, but no rain followed it. We just stayed in silence until it suddenly stopped.

It took us a minute to make sure until we spoke again.

Kenzie sighed. "Let's just keep quiet for now."

Silence it was...until a large thing crashed into us, knocking the van over and causing us to tumble into a ditch.

I couldn't move. I felt myself drifting in and out of consciousness. The last thing I saw before I blacked out was a large, bull-like mouth dragging the others out of the van. That was when I finally let the darkness overtake me and I passed out.

(A/N: yeah, this was a short chapter, but again I did not have the motivation to write this chapter but I did it.

Also, I am almost halfway done with my writing goal for the book I told you all about. Also, should I post it on Wattpad so you guys can see the Wip? It's not going to be the finished product but I hope to finish it this year and edit it enough that it becomes close to the final product. Okay, I am rambling at this point so I'm just going to end it here, bye!)
