Ch.31 || She knows
I'm so happy that everything is working out so well. Yoongi surprised me this morning as he walked me into the lobby and handed me a muffin. I knew he felt bad after what had happened. I took the muffin from Yoongi gratefully with a light smile and a blush on my face. I couldn't help but get flustered, it was the first time I've really gotten anything from him. I relished in the feeling while I could. Unfortunately, it didn't last too long as we saw Sora around the corner. I stepped away from Yoongi before she could see us and discretely hid the muffin I had received behind my back.
Yoongi walked over to Sora who flashed a smile at him as he handed her a muffin. I kept glancing at her while I walked into the hallway. Before I was fully out of the room though, I definitely didn't miss the glare that she sent me and that caused a shiver of fear to go down my spine. Something about the way she looked at me triggered my fight or flight so I began to walk to the elevator faster in order to get away from her glare.
I released a breath of relief once I entered Jin's office. I was immediately bombarded by Leah as she skipped up to me excitedly.
"I see that muffin Y/N. You'll share with me right?" I laughed with a nod and broke apart the muffin in half setting her half, which was still protected by the wrapper, onto Jin's desk so that she could grab it. She took a big bite of the muffin and moaned in delight.
"I love blueberry. Hmm, where did you get this?" I had a feeling she was going to ask that and I was happy to tell her what happened between me and Yoongi yesterday. She wasn't too impressed at first since this is the second time Sora had something to do with the problems in my and Yoongi's friendship. But when I told her about the hug that ended our conversation, the squeal of joy she let out, gained the attention of my lovely friends Jungkook and Taehyung. So I then again had to explain everything leading to a group of my squealing best friends. Rest in peace my eardrums... and Jin's.
"Yah! We're at work, not a playground!" I giggled as my friends' giggling immediately stopped. Leah stepped closer to me so I could hear her as she spoke quietly.
"If you want, I can still beat Yoongi's ass for hurting your feelings."
"Don't worry about it, thank you though." Just as I had said that Jin made his way over to the four of us and wrapped his arm around Leah's shoulder. I held back a laugh as I watched Leah blush nervously while Jungkook and Taehyung watched in confusion.
"I'm glad you know how to listen. You guys got quiet pretty quickly."

"Are you guys hungry?" I asked, stepping into Jin's office after I had got my uncle a cup of coffee. Everyone was in the room on their break except for Yoongi and Sora. Sora had been keeping Yoongi to herself and using him for her dance classes with the trainees, leaving Jimin and Hobi with nothing to do since every time they tried to put in a tip and dance with Sora, she would push them away and say they aren't needed. So, they've been helping around with Namjoon's music and the vocal lessons Taehyung and Jungkook do.
"I'm starving~" Hoseok moaned out holding his stomach. Everyone else did the same, howling out how hungry they are.
"Good, I'm pretty hungry as well. Want me to go pick something up at that ramen place down the road?" Everyone nodded while Leah stood up from the rolly chair that was usually in the friend circle and walked up to me.
"I'll come with." She began writing everyone's orders down and got ready to leave but I stopped her before we did.
"It's fine, I'd actually like to go alone. I've never got food for friends by myself. I wanna be able to do things on my own. Even if you weren't going because you wanted to protect me. I just feel like I need this." I hoped Leah wasn't upset or hurt. I felt better though once I saw the proud smile on her face. She handed me the slip of paper with the food listed on it and some money. I took it gratefully and left the room with a smile while everyone shouted, "Be careful!".
The trip to the ramen shop wasn't that bad and it was nice to think to myself, even if it was for five minutes since the restaurant was so close by. I placed the order and I received the food fairly quickly. I waved to the kind old man who handed me the food and I left. I was so proud of myself, I was calm and I wasn't anxious in the slightest. It was my first time not worrying about my disease while out in public and it brought me joy. It was a moment of normality and I was swimming in the feeling.
Linda was pleasantly surprised to see me walking into the lobby with a bright smile on my face as I held two takeout bags of ramen. As I passed by her desk, she spoke up.
"Did you get me anything?" My face paled and I was immediately struck with guilt.
"I-I'm sorry Linda. I can go back if you want." Linda laughed and shook her head as she stepped around her desk and walked up to me.
"Don't worry about it dear, I was only teasing. Now you better get that food to Leah and the boys quickly. They're grumpy when they're hungry." I sighed in relief, glad that she wasn't actually upset about anything. Linda walked beside me as I made my way to the elevator, just before we parted she headed into the bathroom and waved me goodbye. I thought about how I was probably one of the few people that Linda was genuinely kind to as the elevator went up. The thought brought a smile to my face as I stepped out of the elevator and into the hall. My smile vanished when I saw Sora facing me with a smirk as she leaned against the wall.
Sora's heels clicked when she pushed herself off the wall and strode towards me with a glare. I tried to back away into the elevator but unfortunately, it was already closed and left to pick up someone else. I just hoped that someone was coming to this floor.
"What a pleasant surprise. Just the thing I was looking for. How convenient it is that we are alone. Perfect~." Sora purred out menacingly as she stopped right in front of me. I was embarrassed as I trembled in front of her but I glared to at least seem like I wasn't scared. Sadly she could hear my shaking from the ruffling of the takeout bags. Any pride I had before was ripped away from me as this woman stood in front of me.
"What do you want from me Sora?" I tried to sound intimidating but failed royally which caused Sora to let out a teasing chuckle. Her hand raised to my face and I flinched back forcefully, dropping the bags as my head hit the metal doors to the elevator. I groaned at the slight pain while Sora played with a strand of my hair.
"You're so stupid. You don't really think I didn't see you and Yoongi yesterday, do you? Because I did, I saw everything." She released my hair and slammed her palm beside my head against the wall.
"I told him to stay away from you. I told him not to talk to you. I told him I would hurt you if he disobeyed me and he did. You know what that means, don't you Y/N?" Even though I was frozen in fear as she sneered in my face I was still able to speak.
"There are cameras, security are probably making their way up here right now." I said but the way Sora smiled made me feel uneasy.
"Don't be ridiculous. Those guys are idiots. With just a wink and a smile, I got them to think I lost my bracelet in the dumpster in the back. I told them they would get a reward if they returned it to me." She giggled as she held up her wrist, flaunting the 'lost' bracelet. My heart fell into my stomach as I realized nobody knew what was going on right now to help me. I should've let Leah walk with me.
"Why do you want to hurt me, I didn't do anything wrong to you." I whimpered as I tried to hold in my tears and prevent further embarrassment. I didn't want to look weak, even though I was.
Sora chuckled as she stepped away from me. I was relieved to have my space back, but I knew she wasn't done with me.
"It's honestly hilarious to me how clueless you are, how you have no idea that you ruined my life." Her face twisted in anger while she glared at me. I was confused, how did I ruin her life? If anything, she was ruining mine.
"You think you're so innocent because of your dumb disease. You think you're so harmless. But you're not. Because of you and your stupid disease, my life was ruined." Sora struggled not to raise her voice but it got harder as she went. "You may not know me but you sure know my father. Jang Sehun." I stared at her in shock, I had no idea Dr. Jang had a daughter, he never really mentioned his family.
"He spent most of my life taking care of you when he should've been taking care of me. Every day he would come home from work and be too tired to spend time with me because he wasted all of his energy on you. It got to the point where I barely saw him because he would stay at the hospital so late working on a cure for you." Sora began to invade my space once again, her hands were curled into fists as she slammed them on the wall while she growled.
"My mother eventually divorced him since he was no longer dedicated to our family. I still did everything I could to get his attention. For some reason, you were always his first thought. Your needs came before mine. His daughter. Even when he stopped going to your house for your stupid personal check-ups I tried to finally get my well deserved father-daughter treatment but I didn't get it. He still wanted to spend all of his time working on a cure for you." I didn't know what to think. A part of me felt bad but another part of me was saying that this isn't completely my fault. I didn't choose to have this disease. I didn't force her father to do what he did.
"That's when I decided to come here. This is my revenge." Before I could say anything, Sora slammed her palm over my mouth blocking my screams as she dragged my thrashing form to a supply closet nearby. I could already feel my allergic reaction to her palm on my face. This time I wasn't able to stop the tears from rolling down my now puffed up and blistered cheeks. I was going in and out of consciousness as Sora began constricting me in duct tape that she had gotten from the supply closet. My heart was beating out of my chest and I was sure Sora could hear it. Once I was immobile, Sora pulled out a syringe that could barely see through the tears that blurred my vision.
"Don't think this is the medicine that saves you. No, this is a different medicine my father made while creating a cure. This doesn't let you die as quickly as you should. Instead, you'll sit here and die slowly. It's a shame that my father wasted his life trying to make a cure for someone who's meant to die." She stabbed the syringe into my thigh. My heart rate decreased but the blisters and hives still went on their journey throughout my body. Before she left the closet she grabbed the bags by the elevator and threw them on top of me causing some of the ramen to spill onto me. I flinched at the hot soup before hearing glass crunch from beside me and I guessed that it was my phone. The door slammed shut and that's when I knew she was gone.
I sat in the darkroom crying to myself as reality hit me like a truck. I struggled to breathe as my throat was swelling up making it harder for air to enter my lungs.
I never thought this was how I would die. Sora really wanted me to feel it. I hoped it wouldn't be too much longer. The pain is unbearable.
~§~
This is tough, poor Y/N. The end of Unbearable Pain is coming real soon and I'm thinking of not waiting till every Wednesday to update it. It's going to be a tough ride guys. Thank you for reading. Much Love!
