Chapter Three

(The Meeting)

Korri POV

I bolt for the park where I'd chained my bike and groan.

The key that HAD been in my pocket five minutes ago is gone.

"Shit," I mumble, and I kick the chains, and a small clink grabs my attention.

"What?"

I pick up a small familiar little box and smile.

It's a pale shade of blue and has intricate flowers sewed into the fabric.

It's Lola's.

But all of her things were put away with the final, "When she wakes up, we'll pull it out again."

So I haven't seen this in years.

It plays a soft, familiar melody when I open it, and a small paper with familiar writing reads,

I'm sorry for this too, but don't go looking for your sister.

I know what will happen if you do.

PS. This is for YOU. And don't get the wrong idea please.

Please forgive me.

"How in the hell is this for me?" I wonder, and I realize:

The key to unlock the bike chains is in the box.

I grin, but there's more to the letter:

Meet me at the local graveyard, at the grave of Solstice Summers. BEFORE 6:00 p.m

PS. I promise that you'll see your sister soon.

Sorry, sorry, sorry...

Again.

Mars

I sigh, and unlock my bike, and bolt for the graveyard.

.☪.

The noted grave is hard to find, Mordigan's graveyard is huge.

But the gravestone that Mars told me to find is...

Weird.

It has a half-sun in simple style on the curved top of the

.
stone, and small, slightly frozen sunflowers are
.
beneath it.

The clocktower booms as it strikes six, and I hear someone come up from behind me and say,

"Well, hi."
