I can't even begin to explain what just happened. The fear, when he grabbed me, I don't want to think about it. I pull my hair back. Mother had said they came from the hunter's part, where the bones of others have fallen. A place she has forbidden us to ever swim. To ever touch the waters. I now understand why. 

"Are you alright?" He puts his hand on my arm.

I look down. He pulls me to him. He lifts my head up. He starts wiping the tears from my face. I grip his hands. What is going on with this place? I can't help but wonder if I'm at fault from this. I saw Mother's look. She was tense and yet afraid at the same time. 

"Shh. Shh. It's okay. I've got you." He says.

"Thank you." I say.

"Brother," Nuala calls.

He turns.

"What is it?" He asks.

"They are expecting you and I." Nuala lowers her head.

"It's okay," I kiss his hands.

He moves his hand down my cheek. I smile at him to let him know I'll be fine. I push him out of the door. He turns. I let out a breath as Nuala waves at me. I wave back. She leaves with her brother. I grip my arm.

"Who was that man with you little princess?" I hear.
