Who knew Canada could solve all your issues, hm? You softly smile, watching as Jimin slips more money into the man's hand than he probably deserves. "Thank you. I hope all is well on your end," Jimin says. Sungwoon does a gesture that resembles a bow, giving Jimin bright eyes.
"I've been okay. Just make sure you get this one in safely."
"Will they let us in?" Jimin asks, both his brows shooting up.
"No, which is why you stick to the trees, slip in undetected."
Jimin lets out a 'pfft' noise. "You think they don't have border patrol?"
Sungwoon sighs. "Listen, if you're about to ask me to slip you in, it'll cost you extra. You may be my friend, but that doesn't mean I'll get you in without a cost."
Jimin and you exchange a look. "Our charter ends here. We can't go in, we won't be able to get out," Jimin replies, but Sungwoon just scoffs.
"Jimin, no offense dude but Jin here is your favor, not mine."
"Actually, he's mine," you say, stepping forward. "Jimin, you should start the journey back. Get to the house with the dogs, we can't bring them inside. I'll take Jin in and get out on my own."
He gives you an offended look. "We either do this together or not at all."
You shake him off. "You and I both know it's the best play."
"Leave you in foreign territory? Are you insane?" Jimin comes closer to you, and it's at that moment you realize he's not mad or upset. He's scared. "Leave you out here? In a different country? Away from me?" he says in a whisper, giving you his pleading, fearful eyes.
"Do you have a better plan?"
"Take a plane to a different country. Get out of here completely. Don't cross the border, it's not worth it," he replies, placing both his hands on your shoulders. "Please... don't do this," he mutters, his eyes not leaving yours.
"Jimin, the whole point of this is to get wiped off the map. Jin won't exist anymore. If we follow through with a plane, we'll be in a foreign territory with brand new identities. We won't be let back into America since we wouldn't even exist in America. They'd catch us. But, if we do this, I can slip in and out undetected. Care to explain how we can do that with a plane?"
He thinks for a moment. "Land out of public view. Away from border control, slip in and out just like here."
You almost laugh. "What's the difference then?"
"We'll... I don't know, we'll... fuck, I just..."
You slowly take his hands off your shoulders, instead entwining one of your hands with his. "Listen to me. I'll be okay. I'll get Jin settled into his new life, leave as soon as it happens. Sungwoon, you'll at least escort me with Jin, right?"
"Again, extra," he replies.
"Okay, money's no issue. Whatever you need, just get me in and out, get Jin a new identity while I hide. In and out. How long would that take?"
"Two days tops, one day at the minimum."
"You'll be over a day behind me," Jimin whispers.
You give his hand a comforting squeeze. "Hey, it's okay, it's okay." You place your other hand on his cheek. "You'll make it back. Take Ryland, Major, and Gunner. They'll protect you."
"Who'll protect you?" he asks, his voice cracking.
His eyes hit the ground, you coming closer. "I will. You know I will, okay? I'll be back before you know it, in your arms. This is my favor, let me finish it. Jin deserves to be safe, just like us. Mr. Kim deserves to know his husband is safe. You'd want him to do it for you, wouldn't you?"
Jimin doesn't reply, he just keeps his eyes on the ground. You try to tilt his head up, but he refuses to meet your eyes. "Hey. Hey, Min," you whisper, worry filling your expression.
"You'll... you'll be gone. Away from me," he mumbles, his voice quivering. Finally he looks up, and your heart stops. He's crying.
"Min," you say, forcing the word out. "It's all gonna be okay. I promise," you add, brushing his tears away. "I'm gonna be okay. I'm not leaving you. I never will." He interrupts you by placing his lips on yours. You let out a muffled breath, then kiss back with just as much passion. He's crying into your kiss even with his eyes closed, his arms wrapping around your body to bring you closer than he ever has before.
Neither of the other two comment on the kiss, so you take it as permission to keep going. It's not intense or steamy, it's just a goodbye kiss. You tear up as well, feeling the fear hit you. You're gonna be in a foreign country, transporting an illegal into the area. This is that last thing you thought you'd be doing. That kind of stuff isn't really your scene. But alas, here you are.
"I love you," he mutters as he pulls back, the words hitting your lips. "I love you, you hear me?" he repeats, shaking his head, "and you're coming back to me. You're coming back as fast as possible. Fuck, I can't even think about you gone."
You press your forehead against his, letting out a breath. "I know Min. I don't want to be without you either. I love you so much, I'm coming back. Please, stay safe. Take care of the dogs."
Jimin pulls back, kissing your forehead as he does. "Please, keep her safe," he says to Sungwoon, "I'll pay you every last cent I have. Please, return her safely to me."
Sungwoon looks between the two, then looks at Jin. "Is this really what love is like?"
Jin lets out a long sigh. "Yeah, but if I'm being honest, they're even more attached than anyone I've ever seen."
You softly smile, giving Jimin's hand a squeeze. "I'll see you soon, I promise," you say, reluctantly slipping away. He sniffles, nodding rapidly as you join Sungwoon's side.
"I already have his documents. Yours too, but I guess you're not going to need them anymore," Sungwoon says. Jimin and you nod. Sungwoon lets out a long sigh, offering his hand to you. "Ready?" You look at Jimin, giving him one last gaze before taking Sungwoon's hand.
"Let's do this."
