          Skipping school to spend time with abel–in his house especially–has never been on mikayla's bucket list but here she is, chewing on her tenders in his bedroom as shameless continues to play on the tv. since the show's started, miks has been ignoring the fact that abel is staring at her and she'd be lying if she says it isn't giving her a major ick.

          mikayla side eyes him and he chuckles, wiping the sauce caking the corner of his lips. "so what happened between you and chris?" abel randomly inquires and her eyes immediately widen, shocked as to how people have already gotten a whiff of their 'break-up'. "not to sound like a stalker but i saw what happened at lunch and your birthday."

          "nothing just on a break," she quickly mumbles as a quick response, not wanting to fully solidify their status because the truth is, ever since chris came up to her in the cafeteria, she hasn't been able to stop thinking about him and it's driving her insane. "these wings are buss," miks hums as an attempt to change the topic.

          abel chuckles and nods his head in agreement. he runs his hands through his hair, looking away to focus on the show that's playing and a sigh of relief escapes from mikayla's lips. in all honesty, she'd rather be with her friends laughing in the cafeteria but instead she's with abel. the thing is, he's genuinely a nice and funny guy but he isn't chris.

          but abel is different, abel is good.

          "karen is such a little bitch on god," abel huffs before he takes another bite, referring to the hospital scene. mikayla laughs dryly and quietly as she nods at his reasonable opinion, but everytime he makes a small comment about the show, it just reminds her more about chris.

          mikayla sighs and rubs her eyes, trying to find some sort of way to distract herself from him. she's thinking about school, her friends, chris, shameless. chris. mikayla frustratedly groans, resisting the urge to frantically slap her head at the fact that he's on her mind.

          as they continue to sit next to each other on the couch in his room, mikayla's fighting sleep. her eyes slowly shut and before she even knows it she's resting on abel's shoulder. miks is definitely feeling the butterflies she got whenever chris slightly touched her, and there's a wash of relief over her as they continue to sit together in a comfortable silence.
