The clock finally stroke midnight and the celebration began. The loud noise from around erupted in the surroundings as people sang the birthday song for Kainaat. She was shooting for her next movie in Delhi with the heartthrob of the nation, Ranbir Kapoor. People from the set made all the arrangements for her birthday as she was celebrating it away from her family and friends. Ranbir stood beside her along with Kainaat's team and director, producer of the film.

Kainaat laughed wholeheartedly while seeing the enthusiasm around. She blew the candles and cut the cake. The first bite was taken by Ranbir followed by other people. He fed the cake back to her as the people kept clapping loudly. Kainaat was smiling widely while feeling grateful to the people around for showering her with so much love. She thanked everyone around and distributed the cake amongst all.

"Please, make sure the cake is given to all, and if anyone remains then let me know. I will arrange more," She said to her spot boy, Raju. He nodded and went away.

"Happiest birthday, Kainu," Shraddha, her makeup artist hugged her tightly and pecked on her cheeks. Kainaat chuckled and was about to pull back when Nikita and Namrata sandwiched her by hugging from the back. These three girls have been with her since the start of her career and thus closest to her. It was them who would make her feel at home when she would be on extensive outdoor shoots for days or months.

She chuckled again while holding them all back and pulled back after a few moments.

"Where is our party?" Nikita asked. Kainaat nodded.

"Tomorrow for the whole team," she said sweetly. The three girls chuckled as Kainaat raised her eyebrows.

"Where is Jiju?" Namrata asked and put her hand over Kainaat's shoulder. She sighed and shook her head.

"Your Jiju is busy with his schedule in Arunachal Pradesh. Got no time for me," Kainaat said while making a pout. The girls made a dramatic O-face and burst into laughter. Kainaat looked at them hopelessly as she hit them.

"Aww," Shraddha said and pulled Kainaat in another hug.

"Shut up," Kainaat shouted but smiled with shyness.

"You look cute, Kainu when you blush," Niki said and pulled her red cheeks. Kainaat just pulled back and gave them a glare which was of no use to anyone. She finally sighed and thought of changing the topic.

"Anyway, Ma and Bapu might have called. Let me check my phone. I will see you, girls later," She said and waved at them. Those three nodded in understanding and waved back at her.

Kainaat turned into her feet and started making her way towards her vanity van while feeling tired after the long yet content day at work. She left her mobile in her vanity van. She knew there might be calls from her whole family. Ma, Bapu, Bhaiyaa, Shyloh, and other close relatives. But she was excited to talk with them. This was her favourite pass time, to have a nice long chat with her family.

The other person she was missing terribly at this moment was Avyan. He always tried to be with her on this day, especially when she would be away from her family and shooting somewhere far in the world. But this year was different. He was in Arunachal for his film with Kriti and she felt lonely all of sudden. A frown formed on her face while thinking of Avyan. She missed him and she wanted him to be here with her but she understood his genuine reasons. It's work and they couldn't do anything about it. Kainaat was firm on her decision when she told him that his movies should be his priority.

She sighed and was about to make her way inside the Vanity Van when Ranbir stopped her.

"Hey, Natz," he called from behind. Kainaat moved in his direction and smiled while seeing him. "Happiest birthday," He said with a wide smile and hugged her. Kainaat chuckled while hugging him back.

"Thanks, Ranbir," she said while pulling away.

"That's all? No celebrations?" He asked. She nodded.

"Tomorrow maybe? I will take everyone for lunch or dinner. Whatever is preferable," she said with the same smile. Ranbir stuffed his hands into his jeans pocket he looked down at her.

"That's from your side. We will throw a party for you too," Ranbir said. Kainaat shook her head.

"That's not needed, really," She said. Ranbir eyed her.

"Your boyfriend and my close friend might complain about me later," He said while pointing at Avyan.

"Don't bother about him. I will speak in your defence," Kainaat said through her sweet smile. Ranbir shook his head while being the stubborn that he was.

"Let's go, Natz," he said and pointed in the direction of their director of the film as he spoke again, "See Luv is already getting over-excited with the thought of spending time in the pub."

Kainaat's eyes widened as the nervousness took place inside her. She didn't like attending functions or just being social. It made her uncomfortable to the core and that too with the people she was least familiar with?

Of course, she knew Ranbir since her childhood but they still weren't that close. She wasn't close to many who she grew up with while Avyan was friends with everyone literally.

"Pub? Look, I am not for parties," She said with an awkward smile. Ranbir rolled his eyes.

"That I know. Because Avi always complains when I invite you two over," He said with a plain face. She sighed.

"What happened? I thought we were leaving now?" Luv said while joining his lead actors. Ranbir gave a look to him. Luv looked at Kainaat and raised his eyebrows.

"Umm..." She smiled with awkwardness again.

"No buts, Kainaat. We don't get off every day," Luv said while making her understand.

"Exactly. We have gotten permission from the master himself and tomorrow is off too," Ranbir said with adding his drama and showed his most excited face to Kainaat before speaking again, "Let's celebrate." Kainaat smiled gently and thought of losing her guards for this overexcited guy in front. She didn't want to ruin his mood.

"Alright," she said and nodded, "I am still in the getup. So let me change first." Ranbir's face brightened along with Luv.

"Better," He nodded as Kainaat excused herself to get into her Vanity.

She attended a few calls from her family and left a message for Avyan that she will call him in some time. She sternly asked him to stay awake until she calls him back and he agreed while asking her to enjoy to the fullest. She felt helpless when the temptation of calling him got higher but she couldn't because the people were waiting out for her. She knew she won't be able to hang up right away and that was the reason she thought of calling him at the last.

Her girls had the task of getting her ready for her small birthday party and in less than 20 minutes she was ready in a red tube dress while looking smoking hot. She complimented her attire with high heels. Her makeup was oozing sensuality while her light curly hair added to the whole look. Her hotness and style completed the look.

When she got out along with her girls, Ranbir and Luv were already waiting for her along with a couple of more people. They smiled at her and with that everyone made their way out.

Kainaat sat on a counter chair opposite Ranbir and beside a blank seat where Shraddha was sitting a few moments back. She kept sipping on her chocolate shake silently as she looked around the club while feeling bored. Ranbir was busy while talking with Luv as they sipped on their drinks while the girls were busy clicking selfies.

Her phone buzzed while taking out of her boredom and her face glowed to see a message from Avyan. She took the phone in hand and opened the message box.

Are you done?

But isn't it the night shoot you were having?

Today was day shoot

She was typing her next message when Ranbir's loud shouting broke her trail. She looked up from her phone and widened her eyes right away. Avyan stood there in messy hairs which were coming on his neck in curls. His beard was overgrown too. He was decked in his casual best, jeans and T-shirt along with a jacket. He was in the look of his next movie. But even though his posture was exciting as usual, his eyes held tiredness. Kainaat caught it in no time. She felt guilty.

"You took way too long, brother," Ranbir said while getting up and hugging Avyan tightly. Avyan pulled back with a smile in the next moment and moved his gaze towards a surprised Kainaat. He winked at her and moved forward.

"Happy birthday, love," He said and bend down at her. He kissed her cheek gently and moved away. She smiled shyly. The rest of the scattered people joined them again.

"You were joining? No one told me," Luv said with a complaining face. Ranbir pressed a smile at him as he spoke, "If I would have told you then everyone from the set would have known by now that Avi is coming for her birthday."

Everyone chuckled as Luv frowned again. Kainaat moved her gaze to Avyan and held his hand. He looked down with raised eyebrows and thought of speaking first, "Before you say anything, my shoot got over just in the evening and then I have to travel and travel."

"What?" Kainaat asked. Avyan sighed before speaking again.

"I have to travel from Itanagar to Mohanbari from where I reached Delhi airport and then here this gentleman sent a car for me," He said and pointed at Ranbir.

"You are still late," Ranbir said while glaring at Avyan. Avyan rolled his eyes.

"Well, I am sorry but my work hours got over in the late evening and then I have to get out of that get-up which took another hour," He said and pressed a smile. Ranbir nodded.

"Right, you are playing a dog," He said. Avyan made an unpleasant face while feeling offended.

"A wolf," He shouted. Ranbir looked at him for a brief moment and nodded.

"Right," he said.

"And I wasn't in wolf getup," Avyan said further while rolling his eyes. Kainaat sighed while looking at her boyfriend who was acting childish.

"When is your next call?" she asked to change the topic.

"Tomorrow. But it's night shoot," Avyan said with a shrug and took her chocolate milkshake as he sipped on it. He spoke again after some time, "I will leave tomorrow after lunch or something." The widest smile formed on Kainaat's face as she looked up at Avyan with pure adoration. He smiled back at her and pulled her cheek. She didn't mind it this time.

"We did miss you, ART," Nikita said with a smile referring to his name, Avyan Rishi Taneja. Avyan smirked at her.

"I sure am an art ladies," He said and winked at them. The girls started laughing. Kainaat coughed on the chocolate milkshake while Ranbir and Luv looked at Avyan with hopelessness. He chuckled further.

"Ew," Kainaat said and wiped her face.

"Seriously, man," Ranbir said and shook his head. Avyan chuckled again.

"Anyway, guys, if you allow then can I take my girl away?" He asked. Everyone started with the teasing while making Kainaat blushed but Avyan was unaffected and kept smirking at them.

"Who is paying the bill?" Luv asked.

"I will pay it," Avyan said while glaring. Ranbir shook his head.

"Go. Our director will pay. Anyway, she is treating us tomorrow," He said and put his arm around Luv who glared at him. Ranbir just pressed a smile while making others chuckle.

"Yes," Luv said and pressed a smile.

"Thanks, Luv and see you later," Kainaat said and got up from her seat.

"Of course," Luv said and glared at Ranbir again. He just chose to ignore.

#kavyan waved their byes to people present and made their way out of the club. Avyan unlocked the car lent by Ranbir and got seated in the driver's seat while Kainaat got seated in the passenger's seat.

"Why would you take these many efforts, Avi," Kainaat asked after buckling the seatbelt. Avyan gave her a look and started the engine.

"Because I knew you would be crying in the corner while being all alone and thinking about me," Avyan said and pressed a smile at her. Kainaat frowned and hit him.

"I wasn't thinking of you," She shouted.

"Really? Then why did Ma said that you are whining over the fact that you are away and no one bothered to come," He asked and smirked at her. She rolled her eyes and adjusted in her seat as she looked ahead at the road.

"Please, I never said that and I was asking for Bhaiyaa who is busy somewhere while shooting for his movie," She said and shrugged. Avyan let out a hearty laughed while knowing his Kainaat too well and put the car on road.

"Whatever you say," he said through a smile. Kainaat sighed and looked at Avyaan again as he got busy feeding the GPS device with the destination he got from Kriti after they went through all the beautiful places in Delhi for this very special day.

A smile formed on Kainaat's face and she put her hand on the back of Avyan's neck. She moved her thumb over there and Avyan gave her a brief look of the smile before looking at the road again.

"But on a serious note... Thanks for coming here all the way for me," She said genuinely feeling happy to have him here by her side on this special day. He chuckled and shook his head.

"No worries," he said and continued, "I literally couldn't plan anything special. It's just a regular dinner in some regular restaurant." Kainaat chuckled and took her hand back.

"With the most special one," She said while watching him. A smile sure formed on his lips hearing her but he didn't say anything more.

The destination was chosen to be Nanking. Avyan wanted some privacy for them from the attention they would get from the surroundings so this place was perfect for him. The restaurant offered private dining reserved for just two of them. A guy led them to their room. He smiled at her when that guy opened the door of their special room. A smile crept across Kainaat's face while looking around. The dim yellow lights were complementing the interiors of the room perfectly as the table for two was set just in the middle of that small room filled with balloons. The decorations done were equally beautiful. Kainaat's smile refused to fade when she looked back at Avi who was standing behind with a smile.

"I loved this, Avi," She said with happiness and excitement. Avyan chuckled and pulled a chair for her. She smiled and walked up to it. She got seated with Avyan resting before her. The two candles lit in between them were giving all the romantic feel. The waiter came after knocking on the door and put two glasses of champagne in front of them. He wished Kainaat a happy birthday with a little nervousness. She chuckled and accepted those wishes with a wide smile. He was happiest when he left the room.

Kainaat moved her gaze back to Avyan as the smile was still there. Avyan raised his eyebrows.

"This is best," She said again. Avi chuckled. This was one of many reasons why he loved her. She was content with small things as long as people did it with their hearts. She was truly happy that Avyan made efforts to be with her and arranged this surprise in whatever time he got.

"I am glad that you like my small efforts which are combined with Kriti," Avyan said. She chuckled.

"I will call her later to show my regards," she said genuinely. Avyan nodded and took a sip from Champagne. He adjusted his overgrown locks and looked at Kainaat again who was watching him closely. He raised his eyebrows.

"You look tired, Avi," She said and extended her hand as she kept it on his. He smiled and took her hand to his mouth and placed a gentle kiss on it. She smiled.

"I am fine. I am just going through sleepless nights and days," He said with a sigh, "In the night, I shoot, and then sometimes there is another call in day."

"Now you will know my struggle to play that creature," She said and narrowed her eyes down. She remembered going through the same and telling Avi about it but then he just took it too lightly.

"We are in the same universe now," Avyan said and smirked. She chuckled and nodded her head as he spoke again dramatically by joining his hands and bowing in front of her, "I need your blessings." Kainaat chuckled and shook her head.

"Those are always with you, Balak," She said with her drama. Avyan let out a laugh along with her.

"We are getting straight back to the hotel from here and you are getting some rest," Kainaat said sternly while looking at his tiring face. She felt bad and guilty. After all, he came all the way here for her.

"Alright," Avyan said with a nod without fighting further. He really needed good sleep in a cosy comfy bed. Kainaat nodded.

"But first," Avyan said and gestured to someone. Kainaat gave him a confusing look and in no time there was a plate full of small, beautiful, yummy cupcakes placed in front of her.

"Cupcakes?" She asked with excitement and looked at Avyan. He nodded.

"You love them and anyway you already had a cake. So just go with it," He said, "Who is eating the whole cake? You run away with just the name." Kainaat frowned and rolled her eyes.

"You do the same," She said.

"I still eat them but right now I can't," he said, "The shooting just started and they can't afford to have a chubby wolf." Kainaat started laughing after hearing him.

"What?" Avyan glared at her. She shook her head through laughter.

"Just imagine having a chubby wolf. How will he run fast?" She asked again and burst into laughter. Avyan looked at her hopelessly and then moved his gaze to the waiter standing beside them with a smile. Avyan just shook his head again and took a cupcake from the plate.

"Here," he said while taking it to her mouth and he continued, "To the most special, most amazing, the one with the purest heart, the kindest, and the most childish person in my life. Happiest birthday to my Inu." Kainaat smiled and opened her mouth for Avyan to stuff the whole piece inside it. She hit his hand but he finished what he wanted to.

"Don't change ever, okay?" He asked while taking his hand back and wiping it with a tissue. The waiter beside let out a laugh while looking at Kainaat's state.

"Okay," she said while trying to contain the whole piece in her mouth and chewing on it. She kept glaring at Avyan by putting her hands to cover her mouth. "These are damn good," she said further and took a piece to Avyan. He moved back right away.

"All for you," He said. She rolled her eyes.

"You have to eat one," She said.

"No, Inu," Avyan said with terrifying expressions.

"Have one, Avi. For me," She said and pouted.

"If Prashant or Amit shout at me then..." He was saying but Kainaat cut him.

"I will shout too," She said with a frown.

"At them?" He asked by narrowing his eyes. She rolled her eyes.

"At you. Now," She shouted and made a face before offering the piece to him again, "Eat na?" Avyan sighed.

"Just a small bite," He said. She nodded.

"Fine," She said as he opened the mouth to take a bite but Kainaat stuffed the whole piece just how he did with her. Avyan glared at her but she shrugged with a victorious smile.

The three-course dinner got over in a couple of hours with Kainaat and Avyan blabbering about the fond memories of childhood when they used to visit each other on birthdays. They laughed and chatted and just spent those moments with each other while forgetting about everything else. They were just creating a bunch of new memories for their future selves. The dessert plates were taken away and the waiter closed the door.

Kainaat scrolled down her messages and in the meantime, Avyan thought of making his move.

"I have a gift for you," He said while walking up to her. Kainaat gave him a confused look.

"What now?" She asked and continued, "I don't want your gifts."

"Last time you gifted me with what? A bike?" She asked with unpleasing expressions and glared at him. Avyan let out a laugh.

"That was really for you. So we could go on a long drive and that was when my first movie released. I was young back then," He said while scratching the back of his head and bent in front of her.

"What is it now?" she asked as he kept his hands on her thighs. She asked further, "A shaving kit?" Avyan chuckled again.

"Don't be ridiculous, Inu," he said and smirked before speaking further, "I just trim my beard lately. I don't shave it completely now." A smile formed on his lips while looking at those murderous expressions. She pushed him away and was getting up.

"Alright, sorry," He said and made her seat again as he stayed the same in front of her. "But it's this," He said and put a box wrapped on her lap. She smiled and opened the gift with excitement only to give Avyan another death glare.

"A magnifying glass?" She asked while taking it out of the box. Avyan contained his smile and nodded.

"Yes, remember how you weren't able to read that piece of paper. I thought the specs won't be enough for you," he said dramatically and held her hands. Kainaat looked at him through a glare for few moments before pushing him again and getting up.

She moved past him when Avyan held her from the back.

"Inu," He said when she was trying to get away from his grip.

"You are an asshole," she said and continued with frustration, "I didn't have my contact lenses." Avyan chuckled and kept his chin over her shoulder.

"Leave me," She said with further irritation. Avyan took one of his index fingers in front of her as Kainaat's eyes widened. There stood a diamond ring that was resting halfway through his finger.

"Shit," She breathed out and held his hand.

"Will you be mine forever?" He asked in a low voice and kissed her bare shoulder. She smiled through the touch and turned around to look at him.

"I have always been just yours, Avyan Rishi," She said and kissed his cheek. He chuckled.

"And now you will be Mrs Taneja," He said and put the ring in her ring finger after she extended her hand. She looked at the ring for a few moments and sniffed.

"What's wrong?" Avyan asked while cupping her face. She chuckled through tears.

"Just..." She said and encircled her arms around him, "I love you."

"I love you too," Avyan said through the smile while holding her back and crooked his eyebrows before speaking again, "Even when you will use the lenses with highest numbers and look at me through big eyes, like how those eyes get through magnifying glasses." Kainaat hit him hard as he let out a laugh.

"I will beat you," She shouted. Avyan laughed again and dramatically eyed Kainaat.

"Karan sometimes actually gives me some amazing ideas," He said. Kainaat smiled.

"The show effect?" She asked. He nodded.

"Kind of," he said and continued, "He asked me about marriage then I should give it to him sometime in future."

"How can I disobey him?" He winked by the end making Kainaat laugh.

"You suck, Taneja," she said making Avyan smile once again.

"I love you, Inu," He said and bent down to press his lips against her. She smiled while closing her eyes and pulled him further closer to her.

Her 34th year sure started unexpectedly but she was happiest. Happier than ever before.
