It was another regular day for Kainaat as she was returning to the home after her late-night shooting schedule. It was still relieving that the late wasn't exactly late but it was still early compared to the other days. After spending the past few days at Avyaan's house she finally felt happy to go to her home. The shoot of her new historical film was tiring but she loved her work more than anything. It made her happy. It gave her enough reasons to smile on her worst days. That's why despite getting hate from around, she was doing what she loved.
It has been around a week since the news about her and Avyaan's relationship became public. She garnered the love of people and got many congratulatory messages from fans and well-wishers but more than that, there was hatred. A few set of people who can't understand that thick line between reel and real posted numerous disrespectful comments on her social media accounts. She replied to a few in sweet ways thinking they are just Avyaan's fans and trying to state their love for him in their ways. But those were adamant on the fact that she is no good for him. She finally left that task and logged out from each of her accounts. The hate never affected her but today somehow seeing those disrespectful comments hurt her somewhere deep down. She thought of calling Avyaan but he was busy with his own commitments. He was soon anyway going to leave for the overseas schedule of his next film. She thought it's better if she doesn't disturb him.
The gate to her house got opened but she got out before it while thinking of taking a small stroll in the empty lane on her house which led to the sea behind. The sound of waves hitting the shore was evident as the air was salty. She placed her ruffling hairs into place and walked to the next house just when someone came running through the bushes with a big knife. Before she could process what was happening, she was thrown on the ground. Her bodyguard, watchman and driver ran to her help and held the girl who might have been in her early 20s. She was fuming while standing in front of Kainaat. She couldn't understand a thing. There was shouting and she could see her brother and father running towards her. She went blank for a few moments processing her surrounding but got no clue.
"STAY AWAY FROM MY AVI. YOU BITCH..." The girl shouted at the top of her lungs, "YOU ARE NO GOOD FOR HIM."
Kainaat's brother and father helped her to get up. She was still stunned while looking at the girl in front.
"SHUT UP AND GET LOST!" Sahil, her brother, shouted back with anger. He would have hurt her but Kainaat was holding his hand tight.
"TELL YOUR SISTER TO STAY AWAY FROM HIM. ELSE NEXT TIME I WILL KILL HER." The girl shouted back. The people started gathering around and started filming everything on their mobiles.
"Take her away and call the police." Kainaat's father tried to calm the matter.
"NO. I AM NOT DONE YET. LEAVE ME. I WILL KILL HER!" The girl shouted again as she had no intentions to stop, "I HATE HER AND HE DESERVES BETTER. YOU BITCH, YOU ARE SNATCHING HIS FANS AWAY." She was storming her feet on the floor as she tried everything in her possession to free herself from the tight grip. Kainaat sighed and looked at her hand as she felt some deep pain. It was bleeding and yet she didn't even notice till now.
"You can't be his fan if you can't even respect his privacy. You should know..." Kainaat was saying but the girl was in no mood to listen.
"DON'T YOU DARE TO TALK TO ME !!!!" The girl shouted again. Kainaat looked at her while containing the building anger inside her. She was trying to be understanding but why? What did she do to deserve this hate? What was her fault? She just fell in love with the boy who was her childhood best friend. They liked each other and thought of getting into a relationship like any other normal couple. They just did one fault maybe and that was to get into a profession where they were exposed to all kinds of people who didn't know how to respect them and their people around.
"You need to understand that life is not movies where your favorite couple will end up together. You know nothing about him, me, or anyone else for that matter. So you have no right to talk about anything related to him and to me." Kainaat said trying to sound as calm as possible. The girl started laughing arrogantly.
"I HAVE BEEN SUPPORTING HIM SINCE HIS FIRST MOVIE AND HE DEFINITELY DESERVES BETTER." She hissed. The crowd around was intently watching the drama unfolding before them making sure to film it in their mobile so they can share the new hot gossip about the Bollywood actress on social media and earn some likes and comments.
"And I have been there to support him since he thought of getting into movies." Kainaat said not knowing why exactly she has to give these kinds of explanations to anyone. She doesn't own this girl anything then why? But she anyway went ahead, "I have known Avi before any of you did. He might deserve better but I love him and I have no intentions to go anywhere."
Kainaat sighed before speaking again, "If you have some sense left then leave right away."
"Inu..." Her Bhaiya said. She looked at him and gave a small assuring smile.
"It's okay, Bhaiya. Nothing happened. She is just another fangirl of Avi. I have seen many of them," She said and looked at the girl again with no expressions. She didn't feel any resentment for her but she instead felt for her. She was still young and sometimes our young burning heart knows no boundaries. She sighed again and spoke, "She is still young and she will learn with time."
"Yes, but..." Sahil was saying but Kainaat cut him.
"Let her go." She said while looking at her bodyguard, watchman and driver who gave a confusing look to her brother and father. They just nodded knowing the girl beside them well by now.
"I HATE YOU SO MUCH, KAINAAT. I HOPE YOU DIE," The girl shouted again.
"Get home safe, please. It's late and your mom, dad might be worried." Kainaat said in a low voice and gave her a smile. The girl didn't say anything as the tears started flooding through her eyes and she was taken away.
Kainaat was trying really hard to look fine before her father and brother who were shaken to the core. She assured them that she was fine before they all made their way towards the gate. The crowd dispersed being happy with the content they received. At the gate her mother stood looking frightened. She started crying right away when she saw the blood dripping from Kainaat's hand. Kainaat held her in embrace while she made her understand that it was just a scar and nothing more. But more than the scar on her hand, the scar left on her heart was bigger and deeper.
The doctor was called to do the dressing and later Kainaat just retired to her room. She was tired and there was excessive bleeding from her hand too which made her feel dizzy. She was in no mood to eat anything but her mother said she will send something to her room. The sudden reminder about her purse and mobile inside got into her head and she rushed to her bedside where her brother already had kept it carefully. There were tons of missed calls and messages. She sighed. The people around the colony and bypassers did their work correctly it seems as the video of her getting attacked made news already. She was going through the messages when the door to her room flung wide open and Avyaan came inside looked scared. His eyes searched for her inside the room and finally rested on her figure. She gave him a smile with great difficulty but started crying right away. The feelings she kept holding bravely in front of her family came out unapologetically.
Avyaan couldn't utter a word but just rushed to her side and held her in his arm as he got seated in front of her on the bed.
"I am so sorry." He whispered in her ear. Kainaat shook her head and pulled away from the hug. He kept looking down at the space between them. He looked guilty for something he didn't do. Kainaat's heart ached while looking at his frame. Avyaan held her hands in his as a tear slipped from his eye and fell on her white bandaid.
"Avi. It's not your fault and I am good." Kainaat said in a low voice as she kept her hand on his cheek and caressed it. He sniffed but didn't speak anything at all.
"Avi, I just got scared for some time. That's it." She said again while making another attempt. He looked at her with moist eyes.
"You are hurt and you can speak the truth to me. No one is around. It's just me." Avyaan said putting his hand over her cheek and wiping her tears. She smiled gently and sniffed.
"Right. It's just you. I tried really hard and kept myself together in front of Mommy, Bapu, and Bhaiya but it was so tough." Kainaat said in a low voice while rubbing her fingers on Avyaan's. Avyaan nodded but kept looking at her.
He knew her more than anyone. No matter what people around talked about her being tough, stubborn, bossy and bitchy and god knows what all they say but he knows the real Kainaat, the vulnerable, soft child of his. She has never been comfortable showing her weak side to the world, always putting on a facade and acting strong like nothing can break her and that was the exact reason for Avyaan to be there for her, to care for her a little more. He understood that sometimes it's the strongest ones that needs most of the help and compassion. He understood it a long way back that she needed a safe home to be herself and so he became one.
"I know. So let it out now. It's just me." He said and bent down as he placed a soft kiss on her forehead. Kainaat smiled feeling better all of sudden. He was there with her through any hardships so there was no reason for her to be scared of anything or anyone.
"Alright, listen. I was scared and..." She said as a sob again left her mouth. Avyaan moved closer to her and held her tight as she spoke again, "And this is paining so much. I am not feeling my hand. The pain is so much that I am not able to think anything."
"Why did you let her go?" He asked feeling some anger building inside him.
"Avi, she is just a kid. It's OK." Kainaat said in an understanding voice.
"Being a kid doesn't give her the right to do anything. What if something might have happened to you." Avyaan said with frustration not getting Kainaat's point of view. She sighed and smiled, looking cheerful.
"But nothing happened." She said making her smile wider.
"Yes, but Inu, you can't just let them go like that." He said which was true too but Kainaat wasn't someone who could punish people at their first mistake. Her ways of dealing with people were different which sometimes frustrated Avyaan.
"I know. Calm down." She said and pecked on his cheek. He sighed.
"I shouldn't have let this happened in the first place. I knew about all the shit going around the internet and I still didn't do anything." Avyaan said while shaking his head.
"Oh hello, if you keep on clearing that mess then when are you going to work and complete these movies? You have so many projects to take care of, Babu." She said and smirked. Avyaan again shook his head while feeling helpless. He was still cursing himself for whatever happened with the girl he loved with all his heart.
"I don't know what to do about this sick mentality, Inu. Did we do anything wrong by getting into this field?" He asked. She smiled looking at his face and moved in his arms which was her safest place. She rested her head on his chest as he wrapped his arms around her.
"Don't you enjoy while being on a movie set?" She asked. He nodded.
"I do but..." he was saying when she cut him.
"But nothing. Have you forgotten the love we get? It's everything to me compared to this scar." She said and looked up. He smiled and sighed the next moment as he looked at her hand which was wrapped inside that white bandaid.
"But you don't deserve this hate, Inu. I shouldn't have gone with this crappy idea of making everything official." He said. Kainaat laughed looking at the hopeless boy in front of her and sat straight facing him. She held his arm and frowned. He looked up at her too.
"Listen, Avi. I want to enjoy being with my boyfriend like any normal girl would do. I want to go on dates with you, want to roam the world with you, do a lot of movies together, get married to you, make love, have kids, and grow old. Making official was just one part. It would have come out sooner or later. Or were you trying to hide so you can enjoy the girl's attention?" She asked while raising her eyebrows playfully. He chuckled lightly.
"I still get that, babe." He still said and smirked. But then that smile got faded away. Kainaat felt sad looking at her overexcited and always so cheerful boy depressed.
"Why are you sad, Babu? Just cheer up, please?" She said giving him a pout.
"How can I when I have these maniacs are running around who refer to themselves as my fans?" He said and gritted his teeth before speaking again, "I feel ashamed to have them."
"Avi, don't say that. Ever!" Kainaat said sternly as she spoke again, "They love you, go and watch even the crappiest movie of yours, still support you, they give you another chance, celebrate your birthday and success like theirs."
"But her..." He was objecting but she didn't let him speak.
"Everyone has their way of showing love. Her way wasn't appropriate but her love for you is not less." Kainaat said making him frown.
"How can you say that?" He asked.
"Because I will kill the girl who lays her eyes on my man as well." She said playfully. Avyaan chuckled widely for the first time ever since he got inside the room.
"You seriously are crazy." He said and shook his head. Kainaat felt happy to have her man back in his true form.
"Come on, cheer up now." She said looking at his face. Avyaan thought for a moment and his face lighten up.
"Inu, I have an idea." He said and smirked looking at confused Kainaat.
"What?" She asked. Avyaan adjusted in her bed and took out his mobile.
"Let's go live together." He said while opening the Instagram. Kainaat shook her head rapidly.
"No that's not needed." She said. Avyaan was by now beside her and already had his Instagram opened.
"It is. For me. Please?" He asked. She sighed.
"Fine. Anything for you, Bablunaath." She said throwing her hand around his shoulder happily. He gave her an unpleasing look.
"How can you come up with so many weird nicknames?" He asked. She chuckled.
"It's a talent not everyone possess." She said with a shrug. Avyaan chuckled but didn't say anything more.
He started his live Instagram session the very next moment and kept Kainaat close to him. She adored him while sitting next to him as he addressed the issue beneath this incidence. It was Kainaat this time and it can be anyone the next. Such fans exsist for all celebrity and like normal people, celebrities have their personal life, their friends or family or their love interest who might not always be celebrity to have bodyguards and securities to protect them. He talked about how dangerous the situation is and how important it is to see that thin line between movies and real-life and not getting lost in fantasies.
He also addressed the cyberbullying and asked his fans to respect everyone's privacy and personal choices no matter who they are. He asked his fans to spread love and not hate on people and not to fill their own lives with negativity. He didn't forget to state his love for his lady love who had a big smile on her face as she sat beside him. In just a few moments they took the top four trending spots on Twitter. The first being the safety of women, the next being protest about such incidence, third to show support for Kainaat. #westandwithkainaat trended in the third spot and finally, the power couple themselves, #Kavyan.
Kainaat and Avyaan got support from everyone and not just their fans. The incident which took place was wrong and they were happy to see people standing by what was right regardless of who they followed or who they shipped them with. A few actors from Bollywood joined them as well and it was the topic for discussion everywhere. Finally, Kainaat spoke her heart out about the hate she got and how Avyaan stood by her. The live chat session ended on a good happy note.
Avyaan turned off his mobile and looked at Kainaat with adoration. She smiled silently while adoring her man as Avyaan bent down and sealed their lips together. It was a long and tiring day and this moment was worth every hardship they had or were going to have.
