I can't believe it. I see the edge of the sword almost piercing my eye. Blood drips onto my face. My hands were shaking. My lips quiver and I could barely think. My pulse was out of control. I see him shaking. I feel his breathe. It's bad.

"Heh... I told you; you did good." Lobbo hisses.

"Muy bien." The demon smiles.

What is going on? I bite my lip. I have to do something. But my hands keep shaking. The demon rips his sword out. The blood splatters everywhere. I look up at him. I raise my hand. He falls to the ground.

"And now..." The demon raises his sword.

"No!" I scream.

Vines shoot out. They grab the demon. I grab Lobbo. Tears stream from my face. Petals shoot up. We have to get somewhere safe, and I know just where that is. The tree of life. The first tree I ever grew. The safe haven for all magic.

~!!!~

I open my eyes. The pain is excoriating, burning my chest. I'm not used to feeling anything. I look up. Where are we...? Oh, the tree. The vines drip and braid flowers. She looks down at me. She presses her hand on my chest, and it starts glowing.

"Hey..." I mutter.

"You okay?" She asks.

I place my hand upon her cheek. There was still blood on her face.

"Been better." I say.
