JINX

         Jinx was was walking through the streets of the undercity, she had been missing River and Rio, although she'd only seen River a little while ago. Whilst she was walking from the side of her eye she saw a flash of blonde hair through the crowd. Jinx instantly stopped and turned her head to look at the person better.

Before she could realise that it was River, Rio had found Jinx the crowd, he grinned and ran up to her, crashing into her with his arms around her torso. Jinx was caught by surprise, hugging him back but her eyes still trained on River, as she walked over to her, Jinx's eyes then diverted to who was beside her, Emmy...

Jinx stayed silent, her eyes going back to River who was standing there awkwardly. "Hey Jinx" Emmy said softly, Jinx looked at Emmy, ignoring her "so what have you's been doing together" Jinx crossed her arms as she stared at River, her eyes narrowed as she chewed on her bottom lip.

"Um Emmy stopped by, we were just walking" River explained truthfully, Jinx was confused. After everything Emmy did to her now she's just going on a 'walk' with her?

"Ok why are you making that face?" Emmy asked her, Jinx raised a brow and looked at Emmy, looking her up and down with a judgmental expression on her face. Suddenly Emmy felt very vulnerable under Jinx's gaze, she shifted on her feet uncomfortably "I don't know... maybe i'm just a bit confused on why you two are going on a casual walk? has River forgiven you for lying to her over and over again." Jinx snapped.

Emmy looked down at her feet, "mhm, what i thought" Jinx muttered with an attitude, she rolled her eyes and started walking away. Before she could go far she felt a hand wrap around her arm. She sighed, knowing who it was.

Jinx turned around with a sigh, looking up at River with an unimpressed expression written all over her face "I-I was being honest Blue... she just turned up to my place and asked to go for a walk" River held eye contact, looking deeply into Jinx's eyes. Jinx shifted on her feet "you could've said no" Jinx dead panned.

River let go of Jinx's arm, looking down and nodding her head. Jinx suddenly missing the form of physical touch from her, instead just starting to fidget with her bracelet. Her eyes slowly trailing down to see River's matching one.

"I know... I should've but... I just wanted to hear what she had to say. I know that you don't like her, and I know that Emmy has lied to me repeatedly, And i haven't forgiven her or anything, but... she, she was my best friend through everything that happened, she helped me out of so many situations that could've turned worse, i can't just forget that, i can't forget that no matter how rude i was to her, and how much i pushed her away, she was still there..."

Jinx sighed, she was trying to be understanding of River's point of view, Despite Jinx's dislike for Emmy she had to recognise that during her absence, Emmy, and Caspian. Were the one's who had stood by her. That they were the one's who stuck by her. But Jinx was stuck on the lies. If they truly loved and cared and wished the best for her, why did they lie?

"yeah, i know..." Jinx muttered softly, looking up at River again "just be careful" was all that Jinx had said, when truthfully, she wanted to tell River to not let her guard down. Jinx sensed something off with Caspian and Emmy, like they were up to something.

But... she knew that if she brought that topic up with River, River would most likely grow defensive or distant, because of there past she wouldn't want to believe, that two people she was so close with and saw as family, had any true horrible intent towards her.

So Jinx decided to stay quite, keeping an eye on them, mostly Emmy, and making sure that River remained ok, making sure she stuck by her side.

Noticing that both River and Jinx were remaining quite, Emmy walked up to them. As she walked up behind River, Jinx noticed Emmy placed her hand on River back, jealousy bubbled in Jinx's gut as she gave Emmy a death glare.

At the touch, River instantly tensed up. She pushed Emmy's hand off, stepping closer to Jinx's side out of the feeling of being uncomfortable, Emmy's lips formed into a thin line, looking between Jinx and River "you guys ok?" Emmy asked softly, River nodded her head curtly.

"I'm going to head off now" Emmy informed them, River nodded her head and offered a small smile, Emmy smiling in return, her eyes lingering on Jinx for a moment who hadn't wavered her stare, her eyes telling Emmy everything Jinx wanted to say to her, Emmy looked over to Rio, kneeling over slightly to hug him "it was really nice seeing you Rio" Emmy smiled at him before walking off, slowly blending in with the crowd.

Jinx turned around and started walking away with a fast pace, River quickly jogged up to Jinx, grabbing her by the waist to stop her for walking. River kept her hand on Jinx's waist, turning her body to face her.

"Come with me?" River asked softly, looking at Jinx with her head tilted. Her hand remaining on Jinx's waist whilst her thumb gently rubbed the bare skin of her waist.

Jinx felt weak in the knee's simply by such a simple touch, or maybe it was how soft and gently River talked to her, or maybe it was simple the face that it was River who was doing it...

Suddenly Jinx smirked mischievously, "only if you let me do whatever I want to you" Jinx said innocently, though River was having some not so much innocent thoughts. River's face went blank as she stared at Jinx "uh, ok" she muttered, still staring intensely at Jinx, Jinx smiled at River in slight confusion before grabbing River's hoodie and pulling her with her.

Rio scoffed and rolled his eyes in disgust, begrudgingly following after them, "you guys are absolutely disgusting" River said once he'd finally caught up with them, both River and Jinx glared at him making him laugh "ok ok, sorry" he laughed out.

River and Rio had arrived home first, Jinx had left halfway through there walk, saying that she needed to get something quickly but she would come over soon.

River and Rio both sat on the couch with sighs, running there hands through there hair at the same time, neither realising that they had adapted each other's mannerisms, "when are you going to admit that your madly in love with Jinx" Rio randomly brought up.

River groaned "when are you going to shut up about it because i'm not, for faen skyld, jævla barn mann." (for fucks sake, fucking kids man.) River spoke, Rio scrunching his face up in annoyance, he got up from the couch. Walking to his bedroom in a huff.

"oh my gosh! it's like i'm a parent to a 19 and 18 year old baby! i'm the child yet i'm the smartest one" Rio rambled in in annoyance before slamming his door shut, getting his coloured paint pens that Jinx searched everywhere for him, starting to draw on his walls seeming as he didn't have anything else to do it on.

River shook her head and rolled her eyes, she stood up and walked into the kitchen. Looking for ingredients to make something up for Jinx and Rio, staring at the almost empty cabinets and fridge, eventually finding ingredients to make up mac n' cheese.

By the time Jinx was there, River had just finished up cooking. Once Jinx walked in the smell of mac n' cheese instantly hit her nose, "mmm it smells good in here" Jinx said, she walked up to River who was putting it into two bowls, Jinx wrapped her arms around Jinx's waist, her cheek pressed against River's back.

River turned around with a bowl in her hand, when River noticed that Jinx was still clinging onto her she put the bowl onto the counter, looking down at Jinx with worry written in her eyes "you ok blue?" River asked her softly, Jinx pulled her head away to look at River, nodding her head. Choosing to not tell River about her having horrible hallucinations once she was alone.

River gently moved hair out of Jinx's face, her eyes darting over Jinx's face for a moment, not believing Jinx but also not wanting to make her mood even worse, "ok" River smiled softly at her, hugging her again and placing a soft kiss on top of Jinx's head, she pulled away and grabbed the bowl once again, "here" she gave it to Jinx. Jinx gratefully took and and went to sit on one of the stools at the counter.

"Rio! come eat" once River said that Rio had instantly rushed out to eat, as they both dug in River filled up two cups of juice, putting a straw in one for Jinx and one without, she slid over the cups of juice for Rio and Jinx.

Jinx looked up at River "are you eating?" Jinx asked "nah i'm not hungry" River gave her a fake tight lipped smile, Jinx stared at her for a moment in suspicion, going back to eating, deciding to bring it up later.

Once they'd finished eating Rio went back to his room while Jinx and River went to River's room. River sat on her bed, Jinx following after her, River leant back on her hands, looking at Jinx curiously "so what did you wanna do pretty?" River asked her, a deep red blush rose on Jinx's cheeks at the pet name.

"Huh? oh um" Jinx turned around, picking up a small black bag, she opened it and showed River what was in it, River instantly groaned "no." "yes." "no!" "you said I could do what ever i want" Jinx rose her eyebrow, River sighed and looked down "fine" she grumbled in annoyance.

"you like!" Jinx held up River's hand so she could look, River stared at Jinx with an unimpressed look, "it's cute!" Jinx turned River's hand again to look at how she'd painted River's nails, they were black and red.

"i'm just gonna pick it off" River deadpanned, Jinx narrowed her eyes at River "i would just re-do it" she answered back, "not if i didn't let you" River smirked "oh i could still do it whether you wanted me to or not" Jinx whispered mischievously, leaning forward on her hand and getting closer to River.

River went a little closer to Jinx, tilting her head as she looked deeply into her eyes, "Jinx" she whispered, Jinx gulped from the close proximity "yeah" she matched River's tone, suddenly River stood up, staring at Jinx "can you cut my hair" she randomly asked, Jinx couldn't help but let out a laugh.

"Your too trusting with people touching your hair Star, but sure!" She jumped up, grabbing River's hand and skipping out of the room, she let go of River's hand.

She grabbed a stool, forcing River to sit down and grabbed scissors. Jinx grinned excitedly, making River slightly nervous about her eagerness to cut her hair.

Jinx ran her fingers through River's hair, realising how long it had actually gotten, now reaching past her shoulders. Though Jinx personally loved when her hair was long, but she knew that since River was little, she absolutely hated her hair being long.

"Are one hundred bajillion percent sure you want me to cut your hair" Jinx asked River, putting both her hands on River's shoulders.

River laugh lightly "yes pretty, do whatever you want to my hair" River reassured, Jinx blushed lightly at the pet name, "ok" she said. 

Surprisingly Jinx didn't do a half bad job, she had found a little hand held mirror, she was showing River. Jinx had cut her hair so it was at her shoulders, "heyy, good job!" River complimented, Jinx smiled "you think!" Jinx said, grateful that she didn't hate it.

"Yeah! you did really good Blue" River tried matching her energy, she turned around in the chair so she was facing her, usually River was always a lot taller then Jinx, but as she was still sitting down she was basically the same height as Jinx.

Jinx carefully scanned over River face, "you look so pretty" Jinx said truthfully, River's eyes widened. Girls had always called her 'sexy' or 'hot' but never pretty. There was a part of River that didn't believe it, she didn't believe that she could be perceived as pretty. 

Noticing River's silence "you ok?" she stared at River, "no one's ever called me pretty" she said so softly that she could barely be heard.

"well you are, your really' really pretty" Jinx said gently, River smiled.

"Thank you Blue"
