JINX

          Since River had left that night she'd changed. Almost as if her spark disappeared. She was also more distant with Jinx, but most of all, she completely lost all of her progress, she went right back to her old, depressive ways.

Everyone was worried for her, Jinx needed to know what happened that night, she needed to know why suddenly she had flipped a switch and was completely different compared to how she was previously. All Jinx wanted was to help River.

But she refused to open up to Jinx, she seemed guarded, like she put all her walls back up and she was back to square one.

"I think you know that your the last person i would ever want to come to..." Jinx cocked her head, she was conflicted, but she decided to put her own hate and pettiness aside and decided to go to Emmy, though it did take some serious convincing from Caspian in order to convince Jinx to seek help from Emmy.

"Then why are you here?" Emmy asked softly, Jinx sighed and looked down at her feet "it's River..." Jinx said, Emmy's eyebrows furrowed and she stepped to the side so Jinx could walk inside the apartment.

"What happened" Emmy sat down on the couch staring up at Jinx who was standing there awkwardly, already regretting her decision of going to Emmy, "i don't know, she-she had a nightmare and then told me she was going for a walk. The next morning she was acting differently. I didn't want to overthink it because she's always off whenever she has a nightmare." Jinx started to explain, Emmy nodding her head as she listened carefully.

"But she's gone down hill" "how so?" "she's been really quiet, zoning out a lot, she hasn't been eating, she's been going to the bar a lot..." Jinx listed, Emmy sighed and looked down, her eye brows knitted together in worry.

"Just try to talk to her i guess... i tried everything and anything i could to help her when she was like that but nothing i ever did was helping her..." Emmy said softly.

Jinx sighed and dragged her hands down her face "i'm just worried about her" Jinx shook her head lightly, Emmy hummed in understanding "just... be there for her, she just needs to know that your not going to leave" Emmy said sincerely. "ok. Well... thanks i guess" Jinx left out the door.

Emmy sat on the couch again, staring at the wall. Her heart heavy whenever she thought of River.

Jinx went to her hideout, Rio and Caspian were having a boys day as they liked to call it, River was doing a job for someone and Silco hadn't seen much of Jinx since her and River reconnected.

Jinx didn't bother knocking on the door to his office, straight away walking in to see Silco struggling to use his eye contraption. As soon as he heard the creek of his office door he instantly looked, he was pleasantly surprised to see that it was actually Jinx "Jinx?"

"Hey Silco" she smiled and walked around his desk, hopping up to sit on top of it, stretching her legs out so they rested on his lap.

She took the contraption from Silco's hand, lining it up to his eye, pushing it down and watching as the needle quickly pierced his eye, she pulled it back towards her body when he shot forward in pain, panting before sitting up properly again, looking at Jinx who looked like she had something on her mind.

"What's wrong" Silco asked, looking at Jinx curiously "did... did you know" Jinx looked at him, Silco sighed, knowing what she was talking about, "yes" he admitted plainly. A lump rose in Jinx's throat "why didn't you tell me?" "i was waiting for the right time"

"What? that doesn't even make sense" Jinx scrunched her face up "do you know how she survived Jinx?" Silco cocked his head "no..." "i saved her." Silco said, Jinx looked at him in surprise "what?" "I knew you cared for her, so i got the doctor to do anything he could in order to save her. I did it for you. Do you understand me Jinx?" Silco cocked his head.

Jinx nodded her head and hummed softly "yes" she mumbled, her mind a jumbled mess between being mad or being grateful. She slid off the the desk and went to walk to the little kitchen, when she walked in she saw Sevika cooking something.

It was known fact that Sevika and Jinx were not fond of each other, but that didn't stop Sevika from cooking dinner for her and Silco every night.

Mostly because Silco wanted her too, and neither of them would even care about eating, especially Jinx who was a horrible cook and most days would forget to even eat. Not that there was ever really food to eat, being the under city and all.

Once Jinx saw Sevika she threw her head back and groaned, walking over to Sevika and trying to look at what she was cooking, Jinx wouldn't admit it even if it were her last days but she actually thought that Sevika was a good cook considering what she had to use.

Sevika glared at Jinx from being annoyed by her hovering causing Jinx to snicker and roll her eyes before walking out the kitchen, she started to walk to Rivers place knowing that Sevika took a frustratingly long time to cook.

When Jinx opened the apartment door that had already been unlocked for some reason, she instantly heard footsteps coming towards her.

Jinx saw Rio running up to her excitedly, she knelt down onto her knees and opened her arms, Rio crashed into Jinx after he hadn't bothered to try and slow down, causing Jinx to fall down onto her back with Rio on top of her.

Jinx couldn't help but laugh a little and patted him on the back "River was asleep" Rio said, already knowing what Jinx was going to ask, though saying "was" because he knew she would have woken up as soon as the door opened because she was such a light sleeper.

Jinx nodded her head, ruffling his hair up and walking to her room, she slowly opened the door, peeking her head through. She saw River's bare back, she was putting on a sports bra that she wore every day.

the muscles in her arms and back tensed as she pulled it over her head and adjusted it in her body, as Jinx stared shamelessly her mouth was slightly parted whilst her eyes scanned her. River turned around, feeling her burning gaze the entire time.

"You gonna keep staring or what?" River asked, her accent making every word she said sound so charming, Jinx's weakness since she had met River; River's accent being something Jinx fell in love with the moment she heard it, a staple part about River that made her, her.

Jinx wanted to quip back with something bold but as soon as River turned around and they made eye contact, her knees weakened and she failed to form words. River cocked her head and smirked, knowing exactly how to push Jinx's buttons, knowing her ins and outs, what made her mad or what made her nervous.

River slowly walked over to Jinx with three steps, River gently grabbed Jinx's arm and pulled her into her room, Jinx was caught by surprise and softly bumped into Rivers front.

River shut the door behind Jinx, her arm leaning on the door next to Jinx's shoulder, River walked closer to Jinx, causing her to try and walk back and bump into the door behind her. Jinx looked up at River with furrowed brows and wide eyes.

River peered down at Jinx with an intense gaze, her spare hand rested on Jinx's waist, her thumb gently teasing jinx's soft skin sending shivers down her spine and goosebumps under River's hold.

River retracted her hand from the door and gently held Jinx's chin, her finger swiping over Jinx's bottom lip before walking away and putting a shirt on, walking back over to Jinx, she grabbed her waist and gently moved her to the side, opening the door and leaving the room.

River went and sat down on the small couch, man spreading and leaning back, running her fingers through her hair.

Jinx walked out, slightly flustered before leaning against the kitchen counter and fidgeting with to her pants, River looked over to Jinx and held back a laugh at Jinx's flustered state.

The two held eye contact for a moment before breaking it by looking at Rio who had been tapping to them about something random. While River and Rio talked Jinx couldn't help but keep on looking back over to River.

Just friends, only friends.
